Disney just confirmed that a Kingdom Hearts series is coming to Disney+, announced at D23 2026. The project is being developed with Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix, bringing a new story while keeping the familiar Kingdom Hearts feel.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Kids & Family, said the series will give fans “a whole new way to experience the world they love.” This marks the first time the franchise will move from games to a full series, mixing Disney’s characters with Square Enix’s storytelling.

The show joins Disney+’s growing lineup of original animated series. Current and upcoming titles include Dragon Striker, Phineas and Ferb, Big City Greens, Messi and the Giants, Warrior Cats, and Journey.

Kingdom Hearts is an iconic action RPG franchise born from an unlikely collaboration between Square Enix and The Walt Disney Company. It blends anime-style storytelling and original characters with Disney and Pixar worlds, plus cameos from Square Enix titles like Final Fantasy.

Gemini has doubled its user base in Southeast Asia, with the Philippines leading the region in female adoption, according to its first-ever Gemini Report: Southeast Asia 2026. The growth comes as Google expands Gemini Spark and local language support across the region.

The report shows Filipinos are among the most creative users. Creative journeys make up 24 percent of total requests, with 17 percent focused on writing assistance, which is the highest in Southeast Asia. Many women in the Philippines use Gemini for writing, planning, and content creation.

The country’s role as a Business Process Outsourcing hub also shapes usage. Customer support requests, including enquiries, orders, and complaints, are almost three times more common than in neighboring countries. Marketing content production is another strong area, showing how Gemini fits into professional workflows.

Gemini is also becoming a career coach. Prompts tied to job seeking and staffing are more popular in the Philippines than anywhere else in the region.

Language support is another strength. AI Singapore’s SEA-HELM assessment ranked Gemini as the best-performing large language model for Southeast Asian languages. This makes it easier for users to converse naturally in their own language.

Also Read: Google Assistant is shutting down in September as Gemini takes over

With Gemini Spark rolling out to more devices and languages, Google expects steady growth through the end of 2026. The Philippines is a key market, with updates aimed at local content, small business support, and wider adoption among users.

Instagram just rolled out a new logo wordmark, its first change in 10 years. The update is meant to look cleaner and more modern while keeping ties to the old design.

The wordmark now uses a mix of cursive and print letters, replacing the script style introduced in 2016. Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the refresh was overdue and aimed to make the brand feel up to date yet familiar.

The gradient camera icon stays the same, so users will still see the classic pink and purple symbol on their phones.

Reactions online came fast. Some joked the new logo didn’t look right. Others said it was hard to read and questioned if it was accessible. Many also argued Instagram should fix bigger problems like AI content filters and account recovery instead of focusing on design.

Even with the backlash, Instagram is moving forward. The new wordmark will appear across the app and official branding worldwide.

Also Read: EU warns Meta over ‘addictive’ Facebook and Instagram features

This is Instagram’s first big logo change since 2016. For what it’s worth, the logo looks modern. I don’t think it’s that bad.

The Windows 11 Weather app is under fire for eating up too much memory. According to reports, the app, which is built on MSN’s web platform, uses more than 1GB of RAM when opened and can spike to 1.5GB to 1.6GB during simple actions like zooming or scrolling. For comparison, Apple’s Weather app on macOS stays under 250MB.

The problem comes from Microsoft’s use of WebView2, a Chromium‑based framework that spawns multiple processes. This design not only drives up memory use but also adds ads inside the forecast feed.

On PCs with 8GB of RAM, the Weather app can take nearly 20 percent of available memory. That forces Windows to rely on SSD paging, which slows down performance.

Even when idle, the app sits at 500MB to 600MB. For budget laptops and desktops, this is a big issue. Microsoft promised Windows 11 would run better on low‑end hardware, but the Weather app still hasn’t been optimized. Some users suggest disabling the app in the background or uninstalling it to save resources.

Microsoft said it wants to build more native apps to improve efficiency. But it’s not clear if MSN‑based apps like Weather will be rebuilt.

Xiaomi has announced HyperOS 4 in China, bringing a new glass-style design, faster performance, and more AI features. The public beta starts on August 14, with rollout continuing until mid-September.

The update introduces a glass UI, which takes after iOS’s Liquid Glass. Users can resize folders, group widgets, and customize lock screen clocks and notifications. Apps switch smoothly between portrait and landscape, while floating windows rotate without glitches.

Performance gets a boost. Xiaomi says apps load 18% faster after long use compared to HyperOS 3. Camera HDR processing drops from 310ms to 240ms, and cold startup times are cut by 200ms. Video playback is also optimized to avoid dropped frames.

A new Inspiration Ball lets users drag over text or images to trigger quick actions like navigation or product searches.

Google has launched the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, the latest member of the Pixel 11 Pro series. It brings a bigger cover screen, dual displays, and AI features powered by the Tensor G6 chip.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold packs a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8.0-inch inner OLED screen. Both are tuned for smooth use and multitasking.

Under the hood, it runs on the Tensor G6 processor with 16GB RAM. Google also promises seven years of OS and security updates, giving the phone a long support cycle.

For cameras, the Fold carries a 48MP main sensor, a 10.8MP 5x telephoto lens, and a 10.5MP ultra-wide shooter. On the front, it has dual 10MP selfie cameras, one on the cover and one inside. While not as strong as the Pro and Pro XL setups, it still offers flexible shooting options.

Battery size is 4,806mAh, smaller than last year’s model and the Galaxy Z Fold8. Charging is supported with PixelSnap wireless and fast wired charging. The Fold also includes the HiLight LED, a small light beside the cameras that works with Gemini AI for alerts and interactions.

Google has launched the Pixel 11, powered by the new Tensor G6 chip and faster charging. Pre-orders are live in supported countries, with sales starting August 20, 2026.

The Pixel 11 runs on Google’s first 2nm processor from TSMC. It comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, dropping the old 128GB option.

Battery life gets a boost with a 4,985mAh unit rated for up to 30 hours. Wired charging hits 55% in 30 minutes, while wireless charging is 25% faster than last year.

The camera setup includes a 48MP main sensor with a larger 1/1.56″ size, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto with 5x zoom. Up front, there’s a 10.5MP ultra-wide selfie camera with autofocus. The camera visor design is slimmer for a cleaner look.

The display stays at 6.3 inches with LTPS OLED and 1080p+ resolution. It keeps the compact size, similar to the iPhone 17 and Galaxy S26.

Color choices are Frost, Hibiscus, Pistachio, and Obsidian. Pricing is higher than the Pixel 10 series, but the upgrades in chip, battery, and camera make the Pixel 11 a stronger option.

The Pixel 11 is now open for pre-order, starting at $899 (₱55,100 / ₹90,000). Sales begin August 20, with local pricing and bundles to be announced soon.
