SM Supermalls has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) charging network to more than 160 stations across the Philippines.

The initiative is led by SM Cares, the mall chain’s corporate social responsibility arm. Charging stations are located in malls nationwide, allowing drivers to recharge while shopping, dining, or resting.

The chargers use Type 2 connectors, which are compatible with most EVs in the market. Under Department of Energy guidelines, adapter connectors are generally prohibited unless they carry manufacturer certification for safe use or are approved by the EV charging service provider.

Currently, the service is free of charge for EV owners and SM Supermalls customers. Motorists can use the charging stations during mall hours, with terms and conditions available on the SM Supermalls website.

The company operates 89 malls in the Philippines and nine in China. Integrating EV charging into its properties will help make sustainable travel more accessible and encourage wider adoption of EVs.

A new survey from Salesforce shows that Filipinos are learning to trust AI at work because they already use it in their personal lives.

The study found that 68 percent of knowledge workers said personal AI use boosted their trust in workplace tools, while 70 percent reported greater confidence. Gen Z workers were the most positive, with nearly three out of four saying personal AI use improved their perception of AI at work.

Knowledge workers are professionals whose jobs depend on thinking, analysis, and problem-solving. This includes people in finance, IT, law, education, healthcare, and consulting.

The survey, conducted by YouGov with over 1,000 respondents, shows that almost all expect to use AI agents in their jobs. Only 3 percent said they would never use AI, while more than half already rely on AI agents to work faster, more creatively, or more effectively.

But the report also warns of a growing skills gap. Just 34 percent of workers said their companies provide training on AI agents, and only 31 percent reported access to peer learning forums. Without proper training, businesses risk “shadow AI,” where employees use unapproved tools that can expose sensitive data and create compliance issues.

Workers said they would feel more confident using AI if companies offered transparency on how AI agents work, access to approved high-quality tools, and clear guidance on skills to develop. Many expect AI to both automate and augment tasks, making collaboration skills more important in the future.

The findings suggest that while personal curiosity is driving AI adoption, enterprises need to catch up. With government investment in AI projects and billions in projected productivity gains, the Philippines has an opportunity to turn individual experimentation into enterprise-scale innovation.

Claude Code’s source code appeared to have leaked online, exposing internal instructions and frameworks behind Anthropic’s AI agent.

The leaks appeared on GitHub, where copies and forks of the code were widely shared. Anthropic responded with copyright takedown requests, initially targeting more than 8,000 repositories before narrowing the scope to fewer than 100. The company says it wants to prevent competitors from cloning Claude’s features.

Claude Code is widely used by developers and businesses for coding and workflow automation. The leaks include details of Anthropic’s design approach, which gives competitors a clearer view of its strategy for building autonomous AI agents.

Anthropic fears its rivals could exploit the leaked code to copy Claude’s features. Industry analysts say the incident highlights the stakes in the race to develop agent‑based AI systems.

Microsoft has started automatically upgrading consumer PCs from Windows 11 version 24H2 to version 25H2.

The reason is support timing. Windows 11 24H2 will reach end of service in October 2026. After that, there will no longer provide security patches, bug fixes, or technical support. To keep devices secure, Microsoft is pushing users to 25H2.

The upgrade process is straightforward. Since 24H2 and 25H2 share the same codebase, installation will be fastger with fewer compatibility risks, compared to full version upgrades. Moreover, users can choose when to restart or delay the update, but they cannot stay on 24H2 once support ends.

Business and enterprise devices managed by IT departments are exempt from forced upgrades. Microsoft allows administrators to control rollout timing through management tools. For regular consumers, however, there update is no choice but to upgrade.

Windows 10 users will be unaffected. Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is still optional, even though Windows 10’s support ended last year.

The bigger question is flexibility. Microsoft has promised more options to pause updates, but it did not confirm if consumers are allowed to stay on unsupported releases.

For now, it seems the company is focusing on security and consistency across its Windows ecosystem.

WhatsApp has announced several updates to make messaging more flexible and easier to manage. The changes are rolling out globally on iOS and Android.

One of the biggest additions is improved storage management. Users can now delete large files directly from chats through the Manage Storage option. Media files can also be cleared while keeping the conversation history intact, helping free up space without losing messages.

Another update is cross‑platform chat transfer. Moving chat history between iOS and Android is now simpler, with only a few taps. This feature also supports transfers within the same platform.

For iPhone users, WhatsApp now supports multiple accounts. Two accounts can be active at the same time, with profile pictures displayed in the bottom tab for easy switching.

WhatsApp is also adding smarter ways to communicate. Stickers are suggested when typing emojis. Meta AI tools are being integrated to edit photos before sending. AI can also suggest draft replies based on the conversation, though chats remain private.

Google has rolled out a long‑requested feature: the ability to change your Google Account username, including your linked Gmail address. This update applies to personal accounts in the United States and will gradually expand worldwide.

Your Google Account username is the identifier used on Gmail, Drive, Photos, and other services. Until now, it was permanent once created.

With this change, users can update the part of their address that goes before @gmail.com, without losing access to files, emails, or photos. The old Gmail address automatically becomes an alternate email, ensuring messages sent there still arrive.

To change your username, go to myaccount.google.com under Personal info > Email. Select Change Google Account email, enter a new Gmail name that isn’t already taken, and confirm. Google advises backing up data first since some app settings could reset.

Also Read: Google expands Search Live to more countries

However, Google limits changes to once per year, and organizational accounts (work or school) will require admin approval.

What do you think of the update? Will you change your Google username? Or are you happy with your current @gmail.com identifier?

The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) is looking into the possibility of linking Roblox accounts in the Philippines to the Philippine National ID system (PhilSys). The move comes amid growing concerns about child safety on the popular gaming platform.

At the recent consultation with the Department of Education, parent-teacher groups, the Council for the Welfare of Children, and the Philippine National Police, officials identified weaknesses in Roblox’s current age verification system. They noted that minors can easily register as adults, while adults can pose as children, exposing young players to risks.

To address this, the CICC wants stricter identity verification measures, possibly by integrating them with the PhilSys national ID database. This would make user verification harder to bypass. Authorities also want Roblox to improve reporting tools for harmful behavior and provide faster access to user data in cases of suspected crimes.

The agency clarified that it is not seeking to ban Roblox outright. They do recognize the merits of the game. Instead, the April 7, 2026, meeting with Roblox developers will determine if the platform can meet the recommended safety requirements. If not, the agency will push through with a possible ban on April 10, 2026.

PLDT, Smart, and Globe have already confirmed that they will comply with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to block access to the platform in the Philippines, if ordered.

For millions of Filipino players, the decision could affect how they play and interact with games like Roblox. It may also set a precedent for how online platforms are regulated in the Philippines.
