Hi guys so Xiaomi's just been pumpingout mobile phones have it now they've even created now their own gaming brandof mobile phones and this is the first model this is called the Black Shark soit's powered by Snapdragon 845 with adreno 630 GPU it has six to eightgigabytes of RAM 64 go outs of storage or 128 now I've got the 64 gigabytemodel so here's the optional control and they're the slots on to the top so it'sgoing to be connecting up via bluetooth because there are no connections on thetop there it seems very lightweight that box and you can see we do have somelittle triggers on the side of it and here is the black sharp and you can seethat its logo that's gonna be throughout on this mobile phone so a bit of gamerbling of course it's got to have the gamer black the red or the green likeall gaming devices in case you questioned whether it was a gamingdevice or not okay

so this little slip on the top here that says you're a gamerlet's shark alright so here's the phone and that is huge it's not actually asheavy as I thought it was gonna be so that's a good thing it's got aprotective slip over it there so first impressions it definitely looks gameryou because you can see around the edges here that green now there's that switchI think it is for the gaming modes you just switch that up or down it's got alittle bit of a texture on there and we do have the dual SIM trader on the sideso at the top there you can see the dual LED flash dual tone we've got the twocameras here so one 20 megapixels, one 12 now it's got this area here is like aplastic this is well like have a matte plastic but the build quality of thissays excellent actually feels really good in hand not bad at all and not asthick as I thought it was going to be I'll measure the weight and thethickness of it in just a second so you can see down the bottom here it saysblack shark obviously and then we have what looks like two speakers perhapswere probably actually one of these will be the microphone the type C port therethese are the antenna strips so this type C port has another green accent inthere just to remind you again that it's a gaming deviceso we've got some volume buttons there they're made out of metal and the poweron button that does feel really good curved edges but excellent build qualityno problems

whatsoever with this so a home button, slash fingerprint readerthere on the front taking a closer look at the cameras I can tell straight awaythat this does not have optical image stabilization I don't think it wasactually advertised I was not expecting it and there is that s logos so it's notas offensive as I thought it was gonna be the press images made it look likethat this cuz was gonna be like some super hyper fluorescent green that'sgonna stand out but it's not as bad as I thoughtso 198 grams and this is probably why it doesn't actually feel that heavy to mebecause I'm used to a very similar weight with the Xiaomi mimicks 2sthey're almost identical so the thickness comes in at nine point fivefive millimeters there is really no thickest point there is no camera boldit doesn't actually stick out any more than the rest of the mobile phone so onething I've noticed too that because of the way they've styled us that it maybefeels a little bit better when you're using it in landscape mode here justgives a little bit more grip it does not feel slippery either which is good solet's take a look at what else we get inside the box I think there's a case inhere and least I'm hoping there is so in this area here we've got the Sun tooland yes there's the case so it's just one of those well bumper style caseshere so it's just going to go around the outside protecting the edges cutoutsthere for all your ports form that little switch at the top and of courseit's branded there with black shark so that just clipped on very easily andit almost looks like it is part of the phone so it's not giving too muchprotection really it's gonna cover the edges here but it looks like it's notreally going to protect the screen if you light down flat it's not going toactually raise up there because it's it's lying flush with the screen edgethere and it's not gonna protect along here but all the corners and things areprotected at least from drops so that's one good thing there and you can stillaccess that switch the gaming mode and then the power and volume buttons easyas well so we also get like a Quick Start Guide there that is in Chinese andhere we have just a warranty card thing and they have included a screenprotector which is great so here we have two other little boxes on here so inthis compartment is actually labeled power adapter in English see here it isso this should be a Qualcomm quick charge one and the maximum output thereis 12 volts 1.5 amps a black type C 2 USB cable and also a type C 2 3.5millimeter adapter and now the controller of course if you'reinterested in checking this one out see there it is you can see and it's got arubber textured little thumb controller and that is very light that only seemsto weigh like a 20 grams or something like that there is a button right herewhat looks like an LED within it and there probably should be a type C porton this to charge it okay there we go that is up the top and there is a littlebutton here so this must be I have the release button when you clip it on itlooks to be actually there's like a mechanism in there you can just seethere so that's how it's going to latch into it so that must be those littledimples either side to keep that clipped on that was on the case

and at the tophere one little button there and two triggers now they're not an analogtrigger trigger this one is just digital to straight on and off the same with thetop button there so you can see if you want to use the joystick you must usethat case because otherwise it's just not gonna stay in place and will fallout oh and the back of it it says Black Shark and it's a textured rubber so thisgives quite a bit of grip to it so it looks like they've used quite a largedpi here and here's the programs we've got installed on this it doesn't seem tohave a lot of bloatware normally with the xiaomi phones they crammed on a lotof chinese stuff that's completely irrelevant to people outside of china sofirst have a look and see what's asking for permission locations just to go intosettings that's interesting so here we go about phone running Android 8 Oreo soit's only 8.0 I was expecting hope for the 8.1 now there could be some patchescoming out for this it's got some joy UI build as the first one as well so that'sthe uija this is using this is not me UI this is joy UI which is somethingcompletely different here now they've got room down the bottom on the bottombezel to have hardware keys here and they do have them but just they don'tlight up so that's good to see so there's a recent apps back of course andthen tapping this will take us home so you can see the memory use on first boothere we get free 4.2 gigabytes so that's plenty Android is taking up 1.8 let'shave a look at its storage to this being a 64 gigabyte model not a lot of freespace there we've already used 12.6 so I'll quickly test out the fingerprintreader and that's pretty quick but not the fastest actually there bit of a seea delay of about one second you can see that's definitely not as fast as my memacstew is perhaps some optimization is needed there but I mean that's not badat all it's literally what about under that's definitely under a second atleast so here's the end to to score very very good score here this is really highfor an Android device but it's not really that much higher than the show meme mix 2's with the same exact chipset so they more or less got the sameperformance so you would have noticed that the case has these two littleindentations here these tiny little dimples there's actually where thehandles going to clip on so the joypad will clip into this show you now so youjust gotta line them both up and it slots in you will hear a little clickand that is on there that is really solid that's not to go anywhere becauseit's got their whole case around it so that's supporting it keeping that lockedon you can hold it one-handed there it's very rigid and it does feel comfortablebut this is definitely not Xbox 360 Xbox one or ps3 4 controller comfortable yeahit has small it's designed to be portable of course so you can see alittle light here so that's below because I've paired this up withbluetooth of course it turns red when you're charging and then it will turn Ithink it was green or blue once fully charged it does not take long at all tocharge I connected it up it probably really came with quite a bit of batteryin there and you can see how it is on the rear so that's very sturdy of coursewe've got that rubber on the back here so it gives us plenty of grip whengaming and it is quite comfortable so I'll show you the gamer mode now so youflip the switch up and that is going to enable it it just warms you so what thisis going to do is gonna kill background tasks it's going to put you

I think intodo not disturb mode or silent mode so you won't be interrupted with calls andI'll just test it out till I think tapping the home button if itaccidentally tapped that it's gonna do nothing no you can see there you need toflip the switch it's just telling you there that you need to toggle that andthat's good so that means it's gonna keep you gaming you're not accidentallygoing to end up on the home screen which can often happen on a lot of othermobile so it's good having that switch there so it will automatically detect afew games here and then add them now ones that weren't added automaticallyI've just added them in here I've got a couple of settings here at the top nowthis is to do with the joystick I've already got it connected up it tells youyour power and I did have a firmware update for the little joy pad for italready so it seems they've done some sort of patch or something and you canhave a look at the calibration here unfortunately this parts got a bit ofChinese in fact not all of it is in Chinese here so it's just telling youyou can see there for example the CPU use the GPU use and things like that Ithink it's when you swipe the home button that's when you bring up thatmenu there so the other options we get are no notifications whatsoever it'sgoing to block them out completely so you can just toggle that on or off nocalls on or off of course extreme mode there so what I think that is doing isjust changing the governor from interactive just to force it on allclocks so all calls are running at maximum I'm going to give us maximumperformance that of course will choose through the battery life faster andwe've got here clear round two so you've got any background processes eating upthe RAM you simply just tap this and it'll let you know see there we go itjust cleared out 37 megabytes so looking now how it handles pub G so you use yourfinger to look around as you would be you don't need to use the joystick kidto control anymore because that's now taken over by the hardware joystick soit's gonna make things a little bit easy for moving around especially you cansort of strap to the left or something like that when you're aiming andshooting at people it's gonna make life a bit easier now the button at the topI've noticed that doesn't really well it makes you control the aim there but itcannot look at this it goes all over the place so I don't think that isconfigured properly I'm not too sure just at this point yet how to configureit now the top big trigger doesn't do anything so you still have to shooteither that button which is gonna be easier or this one oh well someone'sactually trying to kill me and luckily I managed to kill them before they killedme so it's gonna make gaming a little bit easier and as far as the framerategoes I mean this is really smooth this is one of the smoothest experiencesyou're gonna get of course with a Snapdragon 805 in a game like pub G heresee when I go and zoom in they're really smooth so this is a question thatcommonly pops up here treble check

so yes it's supporting treble because it'srunning Android eight Oreo and this is for more seamless OS updates and thegood news is it's both partition a and B so since this is a gaming mobile and itdoes not have a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack it better have good speakers andluckily it does so the extra-wide earpiece at the top also houses anotherspeaker so it does have dual speakers on here this is great and I think becauseit's a little bit bigger is also why it has a little bit of meds in here andit's a little bit more punch here than the typical ones we see like on shammiesmmx2 all the mimics 2s it's a loud speaker down here on the bottom is doingmost of the work and it's just that one there that adds to it so I'll give you asample of it now so I'll give you a quick look at thescreen here so so far my tears no complaints whatsoever it's bright theviewing angles they're good for an IPS panel the touch sensitivity and accuracyis excellent color reproduction looks good no complaints with the whitebalance or everything like that it's just a little strange isn't it thatXiaomi didn't opt for a hundred and twenty Hertz panel in this with thathigher refresh rate just making things super smooth then but it's only just astandard 60 Hertz panel which is a shame then they could have competed directlythen with a braces phone but overall it is a decent screen and good and I feelit's actually better than the Xiaomi mimics two S's screen so quick look nowat the camera application no surprises here it's using Xiaomi's mui 9.5 cameraapp there's portrait mode for the rear camera so you can get the blurredbackgrounds there's no portrait mode with the front-facing camera even thoughwhether the sensor can I think you can do it because it's software they usethat AI is what they've been advertising and the likes of the rid me note 5 andother mobile so if you want that on the front facing camera then you're going tobe disappointed unless they decide to later add that on so you've got the sametypical modes and settings here won't really go into this into too much detailso for video I've noticed that we're going to get the same modes you get onthe mimics 2s considering it's using the same chipset so the video encoder youcan actually set this to a TVC for that codec of course that's a highperformance codec whether the smaller file size but the compatibility isn'tthat great especially with a lot of video editors and Windows machines andthings like that for playback you're gonna have to install codecs imagestabilization of course this is just going to be electronic imagestabilization hopefully it's gonna work in 4k because it doesn't work on 4k onthe Memex to us yet now give you a few samples here from the camera this isjust an initial first look I will go into a little bit more detail and giveyou more samples in the final and full review of this mobile so this is asample from the front-facing camera and I can see that it's got the typicalshow-me problem that's popped up lately that it's overexposed because it'sactually really overcast here and a lot darker than what I'm seeing on screento be able to see the clouds up here but you can't see anything at all so that'snot good to see so I'll give you a short sample here from the rear camera this isshooting 4k I do have electronic image stabilization enabled but I can see thatclearly it does not seem to be working so just like this show me mimics 2saudio is better though than the show me mimics to us the focus I've noticed asin as good this does not have dual pixel autofocus and unfortunately phasedetection autofocus you can see it does do a little bit of focus hunting now andthen but I don't mean it's locking on to the guy there that's not too bad andI'll just do a quick stability test here you can see it is shaking all over theplace so not good hopefully show me can patch this and enable key is with 4kvideo because the chipset can certainly handle it alright guys so first impressions thedesign of it the build quality is good the design is it's interesting it isdifferent the way it looks it definitely looks like a gamer mobile phone there'sno mistaking it with the green axon the typical black and red or black and greenaccents screen gaming doesn't I don't know why manufacturers must do that itdoesn't bother me as much as I thought it would when I saw the press images Ithought wow that you know that's that's a little bit ugly isn't it

I mean it'snot wonderful looking I definitely prefer the Memex 2's over this one interms of the build and the style of it but it's great that we do have thisadd-on little joystick here so it just clips into the top and it really doeshelp with games especially running around in pop G it's just so much easierof course having Hardware controls versus your touchscreen controls Ialways prefer and I pretty much sure that everyone will agree with me thathardware controls are the way to go if you can of course if you can plug in ajoystick and use that you would so that is great and it's really easy to removeit but I mean it is a huge robot phone is massive compared to my me max to lookat it almost as tall so yeah big but I do like the loud speakers on this aswell but else because they're good better than than me mix to s and that'stheir flagship and this has better audio as well in video better audio and voicecall so far the main one call and yeah that's actually better there which isgood so battery life I'm not too sure what its going to be but in my 20minutes of gaming of pub G I lost about 10% battery life so I've got acalculating there you're looking at around about 4 to 5 hours of full ongaming worth the performance gaming mode enabled and using that little switchthere on the left hand side so that's going to chew through through thebattery but it's going to give you the maximum most optimal performance so youprobably need to charge it at some point you're gonna have to use a Bluetoothheadset which comes to the obvious cons yes no 3.5 millimeter headphone jackit's kind of crazy this is a gaming device it really really really shouldhave it so that's not great they also the lacking microSD card Wow you knowshould have it so they're forcing us to get the hundred andgigabyte model really because gamers are going to need a lot of storage I don'tsee a lot of people opting for the 64 gigabytes because some games can be like5 gigabytes can be really huge once you install everything different levels forexample like real racing 3 that game can take up a lot of space there so yeah nomicroSD card and they're missing that 3.5 millimeter headphone jack if you canget over there so far it's looking like a decent phone so what do you guys thinkin the comments they let me know about the designer but did like the greenaround here do you think it's a little bit over the top do you think you couldput up with it or would you go for something like charmese me max - it'spersonally I would go for the new MX 2s same trip set pretty much the same exactand performance but the slimmer bezels the shorter design and and I roll just anicer feeling phone with ceramic on there

Design and display / screen of Infinix Smart 3 Plus:

The Infinix Smart 3 Plus is a cheap phone, but its design and finishing is able to make an impact. The body of this phone is mainly made of plastic with a 6.2-inch screen at the front. The rear plastic panel gives it a shiny and glassy look and feel. Triple camera is provided in the left-top corner behind the phone, below which is also LED flash. Apart from the camera, the phone has fingerprint sensor and Infinix branding on the back.

On the right side of the phone is the volume and power button, on the left side you get the SIM card and memory card tray, in which you can use two SIM cards and one memory card simultaneously. At the bottom of the phone is the Micro USB, 3.5mm Audio jack, microphone and speaker. On the front of the Infinix Smart 3 Plus is a 6.2-inch HD + screen with a resolution of 720 x 1520, waterdrop notch is given at the top of the display / screen for selfie camera and necessary sensors.

Whereas, nowadays, full HD display is mostly used in phones, whereas Infinix's phone only has HD display. However, apart from using the HD display, the company may not have any option as the processor used in this phone supports MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 Max HD display only. According to Infinix, tuning was done at the software level to make the display better in Smart 3 Plus so that the display does not look faded. Although the display experience was good during my review, I cannot compare it to a full HD display, but the display of this phone showed better than many other HD display experiences. You can enjoy videos and other media on the big screen of this phone of Infinix.

Infinix Smart 3 Plus Performance Review:

The Infinix Smart 3 Plus is powered by the MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22, a quad-core (4-core) 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor. The variant I am writing a review of has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, this variant is currently the only RAM variant launched by the company. When we talk about the performance of the phone, it is important to know that the performance of any phone does not depend only on the hardware, the contribution of software in this is very decisive. For the correct use of hardware, the software must be accurate and balanced.

This phone has a custom operating system of Infinix based on Android 9 called XOS Cheetah 5.0.0. While most companies are moving towards stock Android, Infinix has made its OS such that you don't even get a glimpse of stock Android. Most of the apps already present in this mobile phone can be uninstalled or removed which is a good thing but there are some official applications which cannot be uninstalled which is not very good for a phone with such limited resources. It has scored 60,927 on the AnTuTu benchmark.

The average performance of the phone is fine but it can be improved further. Some slight lag is seen when multitasking. If you do not do much multitasking then it will work well for you and there will be no significant effect of lag. Its performance is like any other mobile phone in the price range of less than 7-8k. It is not pertinent to compare the performance of Flagship phones with the Infinix Smart 3 Plus, and the performance around the same price. Whenever we talk about such a phone, we should take care of its price and the potential consumers who use it.

If we talk about the customers buying the remaining phones of this range, including the Infinix Smart 3 Plus, then most of them will be for whom it will be the first smartphone or some of them may be someone else or perhaps a weaker performance phone of the same range. Are using This phone is good for new consumers using entry level smartphones. Infinix Target is also introducing new consumers. Considering the price and features, this is a good phone for video streaming, watching YouTube on its large display, playing some simple games and other regular usage like browsing, making phone calls etc. gives you a good experience.

For security, this mobile phone has a fingerprint sensor and face unlock which works well, sometimes the fingerprint sensor is a bit slow but during the review the performance of the fingerprint sensor and face unlock was mostly good. If the fingerprint sensor is working slowly, do not forget to add the fingerprint again in Settings.

A feature called AIBox has been given in this phone, whose main job is to block the useless notifications but it seems a bit annoying to me, because it cannot be removed from the notification screen. Even if you turn off AIBox, it is still present in the notification screen. Hopefully the company will give an option to remove it in the upcoming updates.

Infinix Smart 3 Plus Camera Review:

Camera is the main feature of this phone and it is also the feature that makes this phone special. The Infinix Smart 3 Plus uses a triple lens setup (13MP (f / 1.8) + 2MP + low light sensor) for the rear / primary camera and an 8MP, f / 2.0 camera for the selfie. Both the primery and secondary camera of the phone, you can take a good photo with the camera and it can also be shared directly on social media.

The focus speed of the rear camera is good, it also has the option of adjusting the brightness before taking photos from the rear camera but it does not work accurately with the feature brightness toggle. There are many camera modes like AI Portrait, HDR, Night Mode, Beauty Mode. The camera app of the phone is a bit slow but hopefully it can be improved in the upcoming updates too.

It cannot be said that very good photos come, but considering the price of the phone, I do not have any particular problem with its photos. If the light is in the right amount, then good pictures come from both cameras. However, the performance of both cameras is not good in low light conditions. A night mode has been given for the primary camera with three lenses, and let us know that one lens is provided in three lenses only to help with less light, which also helps a little but the photo is not much improved, know the front This is not a (night mode) feature for the camera.

The Infinix Smart 3 Plus's design, performance, battery and camera are impressive and you get this phone for just Rs. In 6,999. If you pay attention to the features and price you are getting with the phone, then it certainly looks like a good deal. If you want to buy an entry-level mobile phone that has a large display, a decent camera and a good battery, then Infinix Smart 3 Plus can be a good option.

wherever number two LastPass isjust a password manager get a passwordmanager a lot of them are free you neverhave to remember a password again andyou can just have really securepasswords that are all different andwhen you're switching over your entirelife to a new device having all of yourpasswords saved in one spotdownload the LastPass app and be good togo it's super handy toggle is a reallygood productivity app that tracks yourtime and it's just a very prettyinterface things 3 is a really reallygreat list making app I love it a tonreally easy to move things around viatouch but also with a lot of keyboardshortcuts and good notes for note-takingjournaling notability is also a goodnote-taking app and I personally useOneNote are you guys hanging in there Iknow I have so many things to say aboutthis.

that way so we're just notgonna enable split view I'm used to beon my xbs just do that window snappingand we're good you kind of run intothese quirks all the time like on theYouTube app if you're using a keyboardthe spacebar doesn't pause the commonactions that you're used to doing justdon't work on the apps but I was using asaunaI couldn't copy the text in the commentssection of the sauna and paste itsomewhere else I could do all thesethings that I just said in Safari onyoutube.com and a sauna comm so a lot oftimes the apps kind of just becomepointless and then thank goodness Safariis really great on the iPad reallyresponsive you get desktop Safari whichis great you can even use YouTube andpip mode using Safari which is againfantastic but then it just becomes weirdbecause you're using Safari for morethings and then you're like what's thepoint of iPad apps and it's just likeit's just a little weird is a littlequirky so I think I've done a decent jobof illustrating all the different waysto use the iPad is that iPad for you Idon't know I can't answer that for youbut again if you don't have that mainmachine that you can do everything on adesktop a laptop and you're strapped forcash you have to make one purchase thatdoes it all well

Oka, besides my love of this hardware, there was one featureI was shocked to hear these $169 buds had, and that was active noisecancellation or ANC.

And within my week of testing and using it mostly withmy S10 and my MacBook Pro, I only lost connectiononce while I was on a call. I also tested it with aniPhone 11 Pro and a Pixel 4A and it worked well with those two. There's no noticeablelag when playing games or watching YouTube. And there's one more featurethat's new to these buds, which is a hand-free Bixby option. It works. Yeah, it listens.It hears me. It responds. How well it responds, well. Bixby is Bixby. So it responds as wellas Bixby can respond. So the Galaxy Buds Live. They're $169 beans with greataudio quality, a solid mic, all packed into a surprisinglyfunctional small form factor. I want to explain what I mean by that but let's just be clearthat normal does not mean that it's good enough to buy.

I mean, look, you alreadyknow where this video is going to end up. Basically, nobody shouldspend $1,380 on this phone. So, once I say this phone feels normal, I mean that it performs normally and that i have pretty normal complaints about things just like the camera. And it also looks kinda super normal. I think normal is an importantstep for folding phones. It means that youactually imagine buying it instead of treating itlike a concept phone. Anyway, let's get into the screen because it has been thesource of some controversy with this phone.

So it really is glass that folds but to form glass bend, you've got to form it really, really thin. Samsung's ultra thinglass' is 30 microns thick which is in the range ofa very thin human hair. And that means that itdoesn't really hold up like the glass that you'reused to on a smartphone screen. Glass this thin is obviouslygonna be really delicate. A tiny nick or a scratch and it'll lose its structural integrity and crack once you attempt to bend it. So, Samsung put aprotective plastic coating on top of it and that coating well, it's fairly soft. It feels like a screen protector so, put all that together and what it means is that this thing canpick up indentations from your fingernail if youpress into it too firmly and it definitely will nothold up to serious scratching. You've probably seen aJerryRigEverything video that shows this pointway better than I could. So, what's the point of all this effort if the screen scratches just as easily and it can get puncturedreally easily anyway.

Well, Samsung gets to say that it's glass. That's one reason. For me, the big differenceis that it does feel firmer under my thumb than other plastic screens. It just feels a little more solid. It's not as solid as aglass on your current phone but it's a step in the right direction. Now don't hold me to this but I think the glassmight help a little bit with overall sharpness and clarity too. Now, as for the crease, it's there. I see it when I look for it but I don't see it whenI'm not looking for it. But that might just be mybrain compensating for it like in a blind spot. I mentioned this in my Razor View but I'm gonna say it again, I genuinely don't know what the standard for these phone screen should be. I mean, take a look at this bezel.

It is a big, dumb plastic reelthat holds the screen down and on a non-folding phone, I would definitely make fun of this bezel. But here, it keeps the screen down and it also keeps the phonefrom clacking into itself when you fold it, so should I make fun of it? Probably not. And as for overall screen quality, it's better and sharper than a razor. Yup, but it obviously can't get up to a daily Samsung screen. Let's move on to the nextunique thing about this phone which is the hinge. There are four things to know about it. One, it's pretty stiff. It makes the phone reallyhard to flip out one-handed. You can do it but it's kinda hard. Two, Samsung says the mainreason the hinge is so stiff is so that you can stand it up like this in this thing they call flex mode which let's you do stuff withthe top half of the screen. You can use it for takingphotos and duo calls and it's kind of good for watching YouTube and I mean I don't know. Propping you phone up iskind of a hassle sometimes but this solution is just overkill.

Three, there is a gapwhen the phone is closed and that is a little bit scary because the screen is fragile remember. On the bright side, thegap is narrow enough so that it doesn't add that much thickness when it's fully closed. It's not like offensive to me.

Fourth, Samsung has added brushes and caps and other gee-gaws to keep dust and dirt out of the hinge mechanism. Will that work? I don't know. It's been fine for the four or five days that I've been using this. But it definitely didn't hold up to iFixit putting it in a plastic bagwith a bunch of purple dust and shaking it, but admittedly that's a very extreme test. Add those four thingstogether and what you get is that this is the besthinge ever on a folding phone, which means, what exactly? I don't know. The screen is additionally the simplest screen ever on a folding phone too and, so what? What counts as good or even good enough for a foldable phone in terms of durability and screen quality, I think it is still too early to say that we have a true baseline to guage these folding phones against. So, here's what I'll say I do think the screen looksgood enough for folding phones but I don't think it'sdurable enough to recommend and the hinge, well just don't put it in a bag of dust. Now this might surprise you but really the biggestproblem I have day to day with the overall design is that the fingerprint sensor and the power button here on the side It's just too hard to reach. It's too high up.

Especially if you have small hands, and if you're left-handedI mean forget about it. You gotta hold it in areally, weird wacky way. I also don't really love this teeny tiny little outer screen. It's fine for showing the time and it can show iconsfor your notifications and play-pause controls, but it actually sucks for showing the contentof your notifications and it really doesn't workas a selfie view finder all that well. Which brings me to the camera. It's good, but it can'thang with the best. Now my hope was that thesetwo 12 megapixel cameras on the back of the Z Flip would at least be on parwith last year's Galaxy S10. And too often they just can't.

Samsung kinda seems to be back to its old Samsung waysof over-smoothing photos. So, it's kind of annoying because I thought Samsunghad learned it's lesson with this stuff. It just seems to be worseon sharpness and the details than even Samsung'sother phones Like the S10 or the Note 10. And compared to the iPhone 11 Pro which costs less than this phone with the same amount of storage this phone loses every time especially at night. Look, I don't wanna giveyou the wrong impression, the cameras aren't terrible, they're just not whatI hoped they would be which is around 2019 flagship levels. There's a camera mode for taking selfies with the main camera but it only shoots square images. You can also set the outerscreen to show a little preview and a timer if you propthe phone up in flex mode and sure that's neat. You can run and take a selfie. But on the opposite hand, this phone is so slippery It could slide off whatever you set it on before you'll even get the shot. But here's the weird thing. Set aside the $1,400 pricetag just for a second and most of my complaintsabout this camera are normal.

These cameras are good. They're just not keepingup with the times. And that means we're in the zone of doing normal phone criticism now instead of the wacky land ofhinges and folding screens that might break and whatever. Here's another normal thing. Battery life. It's fine. I can get through a daypretty easily with four and even five hours of screen time plus decent standby time. It's not gonna hold up toreally intense use all day but for this size of aphone, I'm pretty happy. I also like that thereis wireless charging and it makes a perfect nightstand clock in this flex mode with the always-on screen. I also have no complaintsabout performance either. It is a totally normalSnapdragon 855 plus processor with eight gigs of ramand 256 gigs of storage. Those are last year's best specs rather than this year's best specs but that does not matter I could use this phone all day everyday. I have no speed complaints.

Okay. So, is the Galaxy Z Flip a normal phone? Of course not. It folds, it's a 30 micron thick glass screen that features a plastic layer on top of that, it's far more fragile than whatever phone you've got immediately . It costs $1,380 for a phone that has a camera that's honestly a little bit, meh. But after using it for nearly every week , it felt pretty normal. And that's an important stepfor these folding phones. The goal is to makethem just another normal reasonable option for peoplethat have small pockets and that wanna carry around a bigger phone that actually fits in them. But Samsung really isn't there yet. If these phones are ever gonna stop being just expensive curiosities they need to start out being a touch boring and therefore the Z Flip is getting there. It's kind of a little boring. But that doesn't meanthat it's normal yet. And that doesn't mean you should buy it. It's still just a curiosity. Folding phones are boring. Look we've had the firstwave of foldable devices and they're neat, but you'veseen all that already. This is about what comes next after the current generation of foldables. Sling like the tri-fold from TCL, a wild new concept, foldingtablet, phone thing. (techno-music) Unlike most foldables thetri-fold has two hinges, which lets it fold up into thirds . You can use it as a phone, you can unfold it onceto use as a bigger screen or fold the unfoldedinto a full size tablet. It's not a half way compromiselike some of the other foldables that we've seen which basically turn into just slightlywider phone displays. This is a full blown tablet. It's nearly as big as an iPad, but you can still fit it in your pocket.

The screen folds from a 10 inch tablet down to 6.65 inch phone. You could also open it two-thirds the way and ya know prop that up it'll auto rotate so you can use in whateverorientation you want. There's a lot of weird use cases that you could probably use this for. The screen on this one is a 3k panel, but again that's just this prototype. We have no idea if the finishedversion will have that, but the tri-fold shows justhow hard it's gonna be to turn these ideas into reality. I've gotten to play aroundwith the prototype for a bit and it's really rough to use right now. It is incredibly heavy for a phone. It's got those big metal hingesand there are three separate batteries to power all those displays, it's basically three phones. And even though it's reallythin as a tablet the phone mode is super thick and that'sbefore your worrying about things like the software, which is basically non-existent.

Durability which is a huge question or price which who even knows. (techno music) But looking even further into the future. TCL also had a very earlymock up of a rollable phone. This is really cool ideathat's a phone that has a fully flexible display thatslides around the side and behind the phone. And it could roll back outand become a larger display when you need more space. The way it will, in theory, work is that there's gonna be motorson the inside of the phone and you'll press a buttonand it'll expand out from a 6.75 inch displayto a 7.8 inch screen. Now that doesn't sound like alot, but your actually getting almost double the screen spaceit's almost twice as wide. The whole system is actuallypretty similar to the rollable Oled TV that LG's beenshowing off for years. Now again this is a really early concept, it's not even a functionaldevice, just plastic and a screen that's literallyjust a sheet of paper. Is this a good idea? Who knows. It does avoid some of theissues of current foldables, like those easily breakable hinges and the creased display which is cool. But it's almost guaranteedto have issues of its own. Moving parts they're tricky.

Now the tri-fold isjust a proof of concept and the plastic sliding one even more so. You won't actually be able tobuy either of these devices and it's not clear if TCL'sactually gonna make products based on these concepts in the future. So why should you care. Well, first of all, because it's cool. I mean look at this thingit's a phone that unfolds into a giant full size tablet. And it actually turns on and runs android, it's like a science fiction prop. But it's also important,because TCL is planning on eventually makingfoldable and rollable phones that might actually look like these. Possibly as early as next year. The company says that it'sexperimenting with dozens of different form factors right now. So it's possible that phones like these, could be real one day. Look phones have basically been the same for the last decade. Black boxes with touch screens. Devices like the tri-foldor that sliding concept, even if they're not here yet, show off what the future phones might one day look like. And that's really exciting idea. Thanks so much for reading.

The custom mechanical keyboards.) So I first got introduced into the whole world kind of very briefly in 2013 when I was building my firstnice, high-end custom PC. And I was in college at the time and I also majored in software engineering so knowing that I wasgonna be programming, I assumed that I was gonna be programming for the most of my life, so I wanted to find the nicest keyboard that I could at the time with the budget that I had and I found the mechanicalkeyboard subreddit and it kind of was radical from there. (laugh) Not many people, you know,are into mechanical keyboards and not many people spend alot on mechanical keyboards. And when you meet someone online who has that same shared interest as you, there's this automatic level of connection that you an suddenly starttalking with them about. So, in the keyboard community, everything in generalis made in a limited run because all these products are mostly run by a community of members.

They're not made by largecorporations, large companies. You get other people tojoin in on your projects so that you bring the cost down, and then once the project's done, that's kind of it. So if you missed out on that project, there's no way for you to get it, other than by on the aftermarket. I think the platformsare definitely integral in growing the community. But I think more so than that, it's just the fact thatwe share this silly hobby. I think that's whatbrings people together. For a lot of newcomers, I think it's a very interestingand novel thing to see someone building a keyboard from scratch. I for sure, didn't knowhow a keyboard was built until I dove deep into the hobby so, I think there's that novelty factor for a lot of new people. And most likely, for new people, I'm mostly dealing with partsthat they have never seen or even heard of. So, I think there's that. For a lot of returning members, who have been watching me for a long time, I think it becomes lessabout the keyboard, to be honest, and more aboutjust hanging out with me.

What am I cutting? Ah, yes, I forgot to explain. So your stabilizers come like this, so you can see how there'sthese two little prongs that are sticking out. So when you bottom out, it prevents the stabilizerfrom hitting evenly. So I definitely wasn'tthe first content creator for the mechanicalkeyboard scene to arrive. But one think I think thatI provided differently was I kind of made the media easyto consume for newcomers. I feel like Razor's gonna hate me after. This is what this keyboard sounds like (quick tapping noise) (quick tapping noise) I think certain peoplehave different preferences. For me, I think acoustics Iwould prioritize over feel. My viewers know that and whenthey come into my stream, we generally talk abouthow a certain build sounds at the end quite a bit. (quick tapping noise) They all sound that thocky? Yeah, I mean these are Tealios though. Tealios aren't generallyknown for their thock. People consider it to have a higher pitch but they're really smooth, and switches do feel pretty nice. I wouldn't say this is universal, but generally if you askkeyboard community enthusiasts, they will say the sound theystrive for is called a thock. (laughs) It's kind of like a nice,not very high-pitched, kind of low-pitched deep I don't know how to describe it. It's just a thock. You know it when you hear it, but there's no way to really predict what it's gonna sound like.

Yay! I've been streaming under theMakers & Crafting category, but when you look at the numbersbetween the people looking at channels streaming underthe Makers & Crafting category versus any other category, it's massive. Discovery has been hard and the one thing that'shelped me to stay alive is being noticed by these big gamers who bring exposure to my channel. I believe my first big client was a streamer named BeasttrollMC. You can consider himthe first biggest client that kind of kick started my career. - Our brand new keyboard. - [Nathan] But yeah, atthe time I just realized okay, there's tons of people out there, these high profile people on Twitch, who show their keyboard every day that's their job. They work on a keyboard, they show it off, some people have handcams on their streams. And, maybe I should target these folks. These are the kind of people who might be interested in the keyboards that I'm building. I think Tfue probably is the biggest client undoubtedly that I've had so far. And his first message,I believe, was like, "What's the most expensive keyboard "you can build me?", obviously. So we started working from there, I reached out to Keycult,one of my sponsors now, and they also produce high-endluxury custom keyboards, and they also have a commission service of their own. But I work with them onmy own service as well.

So, we started working from there. It was a multi-month project. (tapping noise) You justhear the pure switch noise. (tapping noise) Nice. (clicking sounds) And it was finally finished in January of this year. And, getting that off my plate was such a big relief (laughs). I'm very glad he liked it. - Oh my god! Dude, this thing is nuts! - I mean, at first I thought it would just be a side gig that I would do at home to de-stress on the weekends. Last September, I decided to quit my job full-time. My friends and boss, they had no idea why I would leave a secure programming job in the Bay Area to pursue a career in content creation, but it's been working out so far (laughs). Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro Review

The new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro is a very well-made, very expensive add-on for this tablet. It has this backlit keyboardhere and a track pad, finally, and when youopen it up it sort of floats the iPad just so it ends up being a little bit closer to your eye holes. I am continually impressedwith how well-built this thing is. And that is very good,since the 11-inch version costs $299, and this 12.9-inchversion here costs 349. The Magic Keyboard though isjust really well-executed. It does everything thatit was designed to do. I'm just not totally surethat it was the right design in the first place. But I wanna start out withwhat's great about this keyboard. It's the keyboard. The keys are scissor switcheswith a really solid feel, good travel, and a pretty decent thunk. I mean, give it a listen comparedto the old Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro. It's not bad, right. Now the keys, they'renot quite as stable as the brand-new Magic Keyboard on the 16-inch MacBook Pro, but whatever. These keys are great. I really enjoy typing on them, and they are backlit in in the dark. But you can't adjust the backlighting on the keyboard itself. You have to dig intothe iPad Settings app, like way down in General.

Now usually the keyboard lightsare at the right brightness, so it's not too big of a problem, but if you wanna watcha movie or something, it's a real hassle to dig in there. And that hassle would've been solved if Apple had just includeda function row of keys above the number row of keys. But it didn't, which is kind of annoying. But look, this keyboard is solid. There is no flex to it. It is incredibly stablewhen you open it up, and it also holds theiPad pretty securely too. It's hard to get it outta there. And I really like how itdoes lift the screen up and bring it a littlebit closer to your face than other laptops do. That's not something thatI realized that I wanted, but turns out I totally did. Plus, honestly it does justkinda look cool floating there. It does pass-through chargingthrough this USB-C port on the side here, but you can't connect like data accessories to it. But that's nice, it stillmeans that you don't have dopey charging cables hanging off the side of the middle here. The track pad is also really good. It's small by MacBook standards, but I had no problem getting used to it because I've used Surfacelaptops for a really long time. But this one is actuallybetter than the track pad on Surface laptops becauseyou can click anywhere on the track pad, and it'll still click. It's also really smooth. It just, it feels really nice. Now as far as track padsupport on iPad OS goes, I said before that I thinkApple basically nailed it. And it's better to have a trackpad on a keyboard case now, so it's like much more convenient. And, unlike the bridge keyboard, everything on this track pad just works.

The gestures for switchingbetween apps are intuitive. I like how the cursor snapsto on-screen elements, to make them easier to click. And editing text is much better, mostly. Even though Apple has nailed it, a lot of other apps haven't. Google Docs is still a mess on the iPad. And there're a bunch of otherapps that use non-standard UI elements that feel janky, like you can't swipe to archive stuff. Hopefully that gets fixed. So great, right? What's the problem? Well, there's a few. The first is weight. The Magic Keyboard is heavy. This 12.9-inch version whenyou've got it attached, the whole package weighsjust shy of three pounds. That's 25% heavier than the12.9-inch Smart Keyboard. It's heavier than the iPad Air. It's about the sameweight as my MacBook Pro, my 13-inch MacBook Pro. But, it's actually thicker than my 13-inch MacBook Pro, which eh. Now I don't have the11-inch version to test, but I think 25% heavierthan the Smart Keyboard is like a safe bet. And, while the floating screen is great, the available angles on it are not. You could have it anywherebetween 90 and 130 degrees, which actually isn't that much.

Look, I'm just gonnamake a comparison here. And we're just gonna sit with it together for a minute. This is my Surface Pro X. It runs Windows on ARM, and that's not great formany reasons, I know. But we're just talkingabout the hardware here. Now the screen on theSurface Pro X is about the same size. The track pad is about the same size. But the Surface here has akeyboard with a function row on it, and, if you want,you can put it at nearly any angle that you want,almost completely flat. And if you wanna watcha movie or something, you can flip the keyboard behind it. And it's thinner than the iPadPro with the Magic Keyboard, and it's lighter. And, I don't know, thewebcam is in the right place. It's a really good thingthat everybody knows that these are different devices for different needs and different people so that there's no reasonthat the comparison between these two things that I just did is gonna cause any arguments at all. Here's the thing. This is a very well-made keyboard. And Apple made choices when they made it. They made a choice not to put a kickstand on the iPad itself. Fine. They made a choice abouthow this whole hinge thing would work, and if youagree with those choices, this thing is amazing. I'm just not sure that I do. I think that it's justa little bit limiting. The big story with the iPadover the past two years is whether it's a computer, or what kind of computer, or whatever. So look, I'm tired of that argument, but a lot of people aregoing to ask whether this Magic Keyboard makesthe iPad a better computer. And I think that's the wrong question.

The right question iswhether this keyboard makes the iPad a better iPad. And well, my iPad Pro is,by far, the most versatile, do-anything screen that I own. I use it at my desk like a laptop, sitting in a chair justbrowsing around doing some light work, watchingmovies or reading in bed, as a second screen formy Mac using Sidecar, as a second computer next to my Mac when my Mac is chugging. I just need to listen tosome Spotify or whatever. You can even now, withthe track pad support, use the iPad as like a desktop computer with an external monitorwith your track pad and your keyboard sitting in front of it. It can do a lot. Does the Magic Keyboardimprove all those situation, or does it add moresituations to that stack? Yeah. It works really wellwhen you're at a desk, or you're working in achair because it feels like a laptop. And honestly, my favoritefeature of this keyboard case is that it makes it easierto just grab the iPad and walk away with it. So I love this keyboardcase 'cause it helps me not use a keyboard case. But it's nice to use the iPad by itself.

So honestly, since I've had this thing, this keyboard has sat onmy desk most of the time. If you wanna turn your iPad into a laptop, there is nothing better forthat than the Magic Keyboard. It is very well-made and expensive but maybe worth it for you. But to me, the iPad isgreat precisely because it does more than a laptop. It can do all of those other things. And the Magic Keyboard doesn't really help with most of those. It's kind of a one-trick pony, but, I have to admit,it's a pretty good trick. Let's just see. Let's just, let's just... Google Pixel 4A Review

This finally is the Pixel 4a, but before we can talk about the Pixel 4a, we have to talk about timing. This phone isn't shippinguntil August 20th, which is super late. Google says it's because the coronavirus kept it from finishing the final stages of design and manufacturing. But whatever, because thisphone is coming up so late, Google knows that it couldconflict with other phones that it's gonna release. So it's just going ahead and pre-announcing two other Pixel phones that are coming out later this year, it's pre-announcing the Pixel 4a 5G, which is gonna cost $499, and the Pixel 5 which is gonna cost, I don't know. And literally that's allwe know about those phones, but right now we have the Pixel 4a and it only costs $349. And I would use it,it's really pretty good. It's just a littlebasic, there's no frills.

There's nothing fancy on it, pike at all, but there's no weird softwareand it's not too big. This is actually themost basic Android phone that you can get. And there's nothing wrong with basic. (upbeat music) Okay, let's just give you thebasics of what this phone is. I just said basics again. I'm gonna say basics a lot in this video, I'm gonna try and just turnthat up down a little bit. We'll see how I do. The most important feature on a Pixel is either Google softwareor it's the camera, and you know what? Let's just do it right at the top. Let's talk about the camera. It is really good. There is a single 12.2megapixel camera on the back with optical image stabilization and the front camera is eight megapixels inside this little hole punch here. Google's camera hardware is never really anything special though, because the focus is always on making betteruse of that hardware with computational photography. So I compared the Pixel4a which costs $349 to the Pixel 4 which costs $800, it's a lot for a Pixel 4, and the iPhone SE which costs $400. And the results are thatthe Pixel 4a's photos are almost indistinguishablefrom the Pixel 4 in almost all cases. It is good in low light, it is good with night sight. It's good at HDR, it'spretty solid at zoom. And it has that supercontrasty Pixel look.

Now the iPhone SE doesgive some warmer colors, which some people like, but in general, I will take the4a, especially in low light. Do I wish that Google had put a wide angle or a telephoto lens on the 4a? Well, yeah, but those secondary cameras are almost always worsethan the main sensor, especially on inexpensive phones. So Google just left them out, but that does have one weird side effect. When you go into portrait mode on the 4a, it has to do this reallyaggressive 2x crop to make the portrait stuffwork with the Pixel's math. Other than that portrait modeis what you would expect. It's not too great at theedges if you look too closely, but it's fine for Instagram. And speaking of math, there is no extra imageprocessor on the Pixel 4a like there is on the Pixel 4. So images do take longer to process. If you take a photo and thenjump right into the gallery, you're gonna have to wait a beat for the image to fix itself. The other thing about Pixel phones is that while their photos are great, their videos are not so great. If taking video is more important to you than getting great still photos, you might be better off with iPhone SE, but in general, I do still prefer thesestill photos of the Pixel than I do on the iPhone. Bottom line, this is a Pixel, which means that ithas a very good camera. It is a $350 phone that can go toe to toe with cameras that costlike, I don't know, $1,200. That's still amazing.

Now the rest of this phoneisn't amazing like the camera, but the Pixel 4a does getalmost all of the basics right. I know, I said it again. Okay, there's only one size. It's got a 5.8 inchscreen with a hole punch and it's OLED at 1080p. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back and there's that one camerawith a flash on the back, one camera on the front, and a headphone jack, hooray! As you can see just by looking at it, it looks pretty simple. It has a plastic body and it has Gorilla Glass 3 on the screen, which is kind of a throwback, we're coming up on Gorilla Glass 7. I don't know, whatever,it's really well-built, there's no flex to it. And maybe it's because it's the same size of regular iPhones have been all the way back to the iPhone 6. But if you don't like big phones, this feels like the size of phone. This feels like a really good size to me. You can get any color that you want as long as it's black. Google likes to use cutenames for its phone colors, and it always calls theblack ones just black. And yeah, this phone isavailable just in black. There is this neat seafoamblue-green power button though. The Pixel 4a also does a good job at a bunch of the other fundamentals. You've got stereo speakerson the earpiece here and one on the bottom, it's got six gigs of RAMand 128 gigs of storage. And actually that 128 is important. You can't expand it, but it is double what thebase $399 iPhone SE has. So technically the Pixel4a is 100 bucks less than the equivalent 128 gig iPhone SE.

The screen quality onthe Pixel 4a is fine. It used to be super rare to be able to get OLEDat this price point, but that's changing a little bit. And I think this OLED looks pretty good, it's obviously not the bestone that I've ever seen. The color skew a little bit warm in certain lighting conditions. But look, the bezels are relatively small. The Pixels feel fairly closeto the surface of the glass instead of being weirdly set back like they can feel on other phones. (soft music) Now the phone is missingsome stuff though. So for example, there'sno wireless charging, which sure, but come on, that's like expected these days. Google also dropped a thing where you can squeeze it tobring up the Google Assistant. And I don't care. I don't miss that at all. You don't get fancyhigher frustrate screens or multiple cameras or awater resistance rating. And that last one, that does kinda suck, but Google dropped all that stuff so that it could focus on the essentials and had to get those right. And I think that Google might might've gotten the most important, essentialthing right, battery life. So there's really only two ways to improve battery life on a phone, put it in a bigger battery or make the phone draw less power. And I think Google triedto do both on the Pixel 4a. It has a 3,140 milliamp hour battery, which is small by today's standards, but it's still 300 milliampsmore than the Pixel 4. And the Pixel 4's battery life, it's bad, but the Pixel 4a's batterylife, well, it's not amazing, but it's fully acceptable.

You should be able to makeit through a full day. I'm getting around 4 1\2to 5 hours of screen time, which to me is enough. The other thing thathelps with battery life is drawing less power. And the screen is a big part of that, so a 5.8 inch screenisn't huge, so that helps. But I think the processor inside the phone is the more important part. It is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G. The G stands for faster graphics. And I think this draws less power than a Snapdragon 865 with a 5G modem. This is also not a 5G phone, by the way. But does that processormake the Pixel 4a slow? I can see it, sometimes it happens totake a beat longer to open and sometimes scrolling in Chrome is gonna feel a little bitjunky, but it's not terrible. And this phone feels a lot smoother than the Samsung Galaxy A51, which is like kind ofin the same class here. Smoother is the key thing, because this is usingGoogle's version of Android, which is super clean,super easy to get around. It doesn't have a bunch ofextra crap that you don't want. Like these days Samsung is fully just puttingads in its software now. (sighs) Google is guaranteeing three years of software updates for the Pixel and I think this processor is really gonna be showingits age at three years, but it should make it. But if you compare that to the iPhone SE whose processor right now is a beast, it's gonna last longer and it's probably gonnaget like five or six years of software updates. So that's something to keep in mind. So look, I know that basic is an insult, it means that it's common. That it's every day, but you know what? In your life, you need tohave some simple things that are consistent and reliable. But what I'm saying is I would be very happy with this phone. And I don't know whyanybody would buy a Pixel 4 when this phone exists and as for the upcomingPixel 4a 5G for 500 bucks, me, I don't care that much about 5G yet and we don't know what other changes are coming to it officially, and as for the upcoming Pixel 5, honestly, all I can say is I really hope that Google changes up its flagship phone strategy this year.

But wherever the Pixel 5 lands, it's going to be in a differentmarket than this phone because the Pixel 4a isfor the sub-$400 market. Here is another word thatgets used as an insult, cheap. The Pixel 4a is cheap in terms of cost, but other than being a little,I don't know, plasticy, it doesn't feel cheap. Now it's not as fast as an iPhone SE. And it probably won't last as many years as an iPhone SE will, but it costs less and it has a really niceversion of Android on it if you want Android. Look, at this price point,you just can't have it all. I've talked about that withthe Samsung Galaxy A51, John just talked aboutit with the OnePlus Nord. Companies have to pickwhere their priorities are and Google picked the camera and then for everything else that just made sure that it hita baseline level of quality. This phone is basic, but a lot of phones in this price range don't even get the basics right. The Pixel 4a does.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra – Specification for days

So this week I spent an hourand a half with the Note 20 and the Note 20 Ultra, which we usually think of as Samsung's most souped up, powerful devices. But what became very clear to me wasn't the differencesbetween this year's models and last year's models. It was the differences betweenthe two models this year, and how in my mind, onlyone of these devices really earns that, oh gee, this is the most powerfulphone,

Note title. Let's get into it. First, these phones doshare some common features. So let's get those out of the way. The Note 20's both have S pens, of course, they both have a power button and volume markers on one side, they both have USBC ports on the bottom, and Samsung claims that both now have 25% brighter screens at peak brightness. And both devices come withSnapdragon 865 Plus processors, and they both supportfull 5G with both sub six and millimeter wave. But when it comes to prettymuch every other hardware spec, their differences start to show. So the Note 20 comes in mystic bronze, mystic gray, and mystic green, while the Note 20 Ultracomes in mystic bronze, mystic black, and mysticwhite, that's right. I only saw the mystic bronzecolor of both of these phones, which is the only color they share. Now they have this greatmatte finish on them, and Samsung says that's, you know, gonna take away fromall those fingerprints that we usually get on these phones. But I mean, for me, I filma lot of these phones, so I'm just happy that it'snot like a straight mirror looking back at me for once.

Now, let's talk displays. The Note 20 has a 6.7inch FHD plus flat screen with a slight bezel andcenter hole punch camera, while the Ultra rocks a 6.9inch WQHD plus edge screen with almost no bezels and asmaller camera hole punch. The Ultra also supports anadaptive 120 Hertz refresh rate, but only at HD plus resolution. Now personally, I'll take the 120 Hertz, even if it means a lowerresolution, because well, a higher refresh rate isway more noticeable to me than a screen resolution. Am I the only one that's like disappointed by the 60 Hertz screen on the S 20? I mean like, 2020, thisone's a thousand dollars. Should probably have120 Hertz refresh rate. Maybe it's just me. Both devices, of course, support DeX, and this year they'regetting the wireless glow up. So you'll be able to use DeX wirelessly with anything that supports Miracast. also Samsung Notes will syncwith Outlook's One Note, and the S pen in thesedevices has the same accelerometer and gyroscopefor motion controls, but with some new gestures.

Now on the Note 20 Ultra, you've got an 108 megapixel F 1.8 wide, a 12 megapixel F three telewith five X optical zoom using this like sick Periscope design, and the Samsung space zoom going 50 X, and finally a 12 megapixelF 2.2 ultra wide. There's also a new laser auto focus sensor that comes as a welcomed improvement to the slow focus issues that totally plagued the S 20 Ultra's cameras. I can't wait to test that50 X zoom out though, like, I couldn't really test it in the first look environment I was in because I simply wasn't faraway enough from anything to see if it actually holds up. But overall, these camerasoffer a wide variety of lens options that at this point we've come to expect from flagship phones. On the video side, both phones support four K 60 on the front facing camera, and around back they do eight K 24. And if you're a monster,they'll do eight K 30, but remember, you're a monster. I'm just so excited to putthis camera to the test.

I mean, every time a newphone comes out, I'm like, let's shoot a movie on this thing. And I have this series calledFull-Frame where we talk anything and everything cameras. if you have followed OnePlus over the years, you know how OnePlus phones have been called as flagship killers. And truth be told, killers they were. However, to achieve that affordable price point for a good phone, OnePlus had to cut some corners by leaving out some features that are now a mainstay in competitive phones. Not anymore though. OnePlus has finally brought long-sought features like a waterproof design and wireless charging but is it too little too late considering there are other options in the market at a similar price range? Let’s find out. OnePlus makes good looking smartphones and OnePlus 8 Pro follows the same footsteps. The phone’s design is not radical or revolutionary but aesthetically pleasing. The front puts all the attention on the gigantic display while the back attracts with the matte-frosted finish that has a higher degree of haze compared to last year’s device. Do note, the matte-frosted

finish only comes with Glacial

options. In other words, the phone

looks beautiful and with a curved

screen and rounded edges, the

phone’s continuous design flows

nicely and has a good feel when

you’re holding in the hands. The

OnePlus 8 Pro is also IP68 certified,

making it safe from water and dust.

The phone weighs just under

200g (199g to be exact) and while it

is on the heavier side, we like the

weight distribution that does not

make the phone feel top-heavy. The

power button and Alert Slider are

placed on the right-hand side while

the volume button is on the left. At

the bottom, there’s a SIM card slot

along with USB Type-C port and

loudspeaker.

The rear cameras are vertically

mounted at the back and they

protrude a bit and given how the

phone is normally held, the index

finger tends to inadvertently touch

the camera glass more often than

not. A simple way to avoid it is to

use the phone in a case and luckily

OnePlus bundles a clear case with

the phone.

There’s no pop-up camera or

notch with the OnePlus 8 Pro but

features an in-display camera along

with an in-screen fingerprint

reader. The in-screen camera is a

good step forward considering

there’s no mechanical system

involved or notch taking away some

precious real estate. Although we

didn’t face any particular issue with

the camera blocking the viewing

area, if it’s something that bothers

you, OnePlus gives an option to stop

showing content alongside the front

camera and instead moves the

content area slightly down for a

clear view. As for the in-screen

fingerprint sensor performance, it’s

very fast.

The OnePlus 8 Pro features a

6.78-inch display with QHD+

(3168x1440) resolution support and

an aspect ratio of 19.8:9. The phone

defaults at Full HD+ resolution

when you turn on the device for thefirst time but you can easily change

it from the display settings menu.

The phone also allows to

automatically switch the resolution

as per the app, thus helping to

preserve some battery life.

The screen’s claim to fame is the

high refresh rate. It supports 120Hz,

making it at par with other

competitive devices like the

Samsung Galaxy S20+. However, in
