There are so many options, but there is no detailed review of products and customer ratings. Its really being valued at $15 billions by Microsoft since it bought a stake of 1.6% for $240 millions.

With such a popular application, you might be wondering that the quantity and the quality of the traffic will be pretty good. But it looks like it is not the case. One of my friend tried out Facebook (both the basic and the pro version) and figured that he is getting less than 1% CTR.

That means, for every 100 impressions, your link is clicked by less than 1 person. Wow, that sounds pretty bad. But coming to think of it, its mostly used by geeks and they are pretty much ads resistant unless otherwise its compelling.

So you might want to watch out before investing money in their system.

Shopping Cart Software - What To Look For?
What is the fastest way to reach your customers? There used to be the days, when Microsoft dominated almost anything to do with Software. They really killed/crashed the companies which tried to compete it. Whether its the browser war (netscape), or the music (real player), Microsoft put its hand on everything that came along the way.

And it looks like the history is repeating in the form of Google in this decade. They are dictating what webmasters has to do, what they do not. Also, they introduced Google Docs to slowly kill the MS Office software.

I believe that there should be a stronger competitor to Google to keep it on its toes, so that the end users gets the benefit along the way. Yahoo can do much better to compete against Google. But I have to agree that they have improved their search and usability a lot now. I find myself using Yahoo many times for doing specific queries.

Hopefully things will be different in the future.

Save Buckets Of Money On Your Christmas Shopping
It is less than 2 months for Christmas and the ancipation is already in the air. So many things to do like buying gifts for your loved ones, making your house ready for the occasion etc. Shopping is one of the things which needs to be planned well ahead.

If you are living in UK and would like to Save Buckets of money on your christmas shopping list, check out the website. Its a pretty cool website with loads of feature like searching for your favorite products within a price range, top most purchased products etc. Its a recently launched website and it is attractively designed for Christmas shopping.

Whether you are interested in buying Household items or Computer hardware, they have a huge list of products to check out the competitive prices. You can search by category and also sort out the products by their best prices.

Read the press release about how their site can help you save more money this christmas.

New price saving site launches to save Brits up to 20% this Christmas

As the nation approaches the final countdown to Christmas, new research rings alarm bells over the financial impact of Christmas in credit crunch Britain. The research from the new money saving website Savebuckets.com reveals that as Brits prepare for Christmas, many are still paying off last year’s festive spending.

With 41 per cent of Britons paying for Christmas on credit last year, almost one in five are still paying for last year’s festivities (17%), fewer than one in three having cleared their Christmas debts when their January credit card bill arrived (29%).

Following a year of consumer confidence in 2006, Christmas spending soared 52 per cent in two years (from an average £548 per adult in 2004* to £837 per adult in 2006), with over one in five Brits spending over £1,000 on Christmas last year (22%). This year, with spending power at its lowest level for 10 years**, consumers are feeling the financial hangover from a more confident Christmas enjoyed on the credit card and loans.

Alarmingly, it is cash strapped youngsters and low income earners who, having spent the most on last Christmas, are most likely to be feeling the repercussions of last year’s spending spree (see figures below).

The research into the financial impacts of last Christmas amongst a GB representative sample of 2,000 British adults was carried out by the new money savings website Savebuckets.com which launches this week to enable Brits to get more for their money this Christmas.

With these alarming figures in mind, Savebuckets.com will give shoppers the opportunity to save up to 20% on their Christmas shopping. Putting consumers back in control of their spending, the site searches over 700 retailers for the best price on around one million products. The site includes a unique price checker which allows consumers to set the price they want to pay for items, notifying them when the price of a product falls to within their budget.

How To Watch Flash Videos From Your Desktop
Watching videos from sites like Youtube, Metacafe etc is one of my time killers. I don't really know how much time I spend on it, but every other link I click on, is always connected to these video sites. I really enjoy watching them so well that I started bookmarking my favorite videos so that I can play later.

But the list has gone so big and also that streaming the video everytime increased my bandwidth. So I started thinking about downloading them to my computer so that I could watch whenever I want.

But the problem is that even though there is loads of FLV players available, they have one restriction or the other which makes me cringe. Most of the players doesn't play the video full screen, which I love very much.

Anyway, I was really surprised and happy that Adobe has answered my prayers by releasing the Adobe Media Player. The Domain register collects the personal information like contact address etc and makes it available in the whois record so that the website has the details of the owner.

It has its own advantages and disadvantages. Lets say that you like a website very much but it doesn't have the contact information, you can quickly find out the details from the whois information and contact the owner.

But the disadvantages are many. Lots of scammers are creating automatic bots which scrapes the whois information and use it for their own scamming purposes. They send out mail, call the owner, use the address etc. In order to avoid this, people can choose to have their whois information private as well.

But the recent discussions shows that private advocates are proposing to scrap the whois information altogether from the website. They say that people are really annoyed by the bots which send junk mails and other stuff.

I think the private advocates have to come up with another system which protects the clients information so that the owners of the website are not annoyed.

How To Buy Good Quality HDTVs At Discounted Prices
Technology is a highly evolving field. They both started out with a niche idea, then got expanded to cover a bigger base and now dominating their specific niche.

Youtube got sold for more than $2 billions because of its video sharing members. In a similar way, Facebook the online networking company targeted for College kids, is not restricted to them anymore. The company has opened its profiles to anybody in the earth, and its size is growing tremendously.

Microsoft which was pretty much lagging behind Google and Yahoo on the Social networking arena wanted to do something about it, and finalized a deal with Facebook. It lets Microsoft to have 1.6% stake on Facebook which is valued at 240 mils. That means, Microsoft is valuing Facebook around $15 billion.

Wow. That's a huge sum for any Internet based company. But is it worth it? Facebook has lots of advantages, and Microsoft needs to exploit it to its own benefit to make it worthwhile. Remember the story of ebay bought skype for a huge sum and didn't do much with it.

We have to wait and see what the future holds for Microsoft.

Find 1000s Of House Plans With CAD Packages In One Collection
Are you thinking about building your house and looking for some nice house designs? Each page will have a different conversion rate and by proper testing only will reveal what's the best strategy to present your content.

There is no one solution fits for all. For example, a neatly designed website with jazzy web 2.0 features doesn't really work out for content heavy sites like newspapers, and also for generic ones like kids information, magic tricks etc. So you need to know your audience before you design your landing pages.

If you are worried about the conversion rates, always see what's the other pages from different sites look like. Another idea is to use the widgets on your landing pages. This is particularly useful when people search generically like auto loans, miami renting etc .

The widgets can provide additional details related to keywords which results in better click through.

Also if you are coming up on the search results for generic terms, make sure that you provide API feed on that page. It is tested to improve your conversion rates.

Kona Vacation Rentals - Enjoy The Lure of Hawaii
Imagine you are in a big beautiful island, with not much people around. Sure you can. Install the tuner for the television signals on your computer, and you can start receiving the feed so that watching the TV stations is not a problem.

OK. That sounds good. But is there any way to watch your broadcasting tv channels over the net without all those tuners or aerials? UK based LiveStation says you can. They have partnered with Microsoft to work on a proprietary technology which enables you to watch the Television signals over the broadband network on your own computer.

Now you can watch it on the laptop, home computer or anywhere.

What do you need to have to watch it? Nothing. Your regular computer would do; plus the broadband connection. You just need to download their software and start watching the channels.

Cool.

Learn Spanish In No Time - Thanks To Rosetta Stone
The Internet is a great tool to reach global customers. You can deliver the products they were looking for, and sell it to them pretty easy. Don't make the mistake of sticking to English language speaking audience since the competition is really high. You have to compete from the global audience who mostly speaks English.

Spanish, French and German are some of the good languages to learn if you are thinking of targeting the South American and European business.

I have been thinking of expanding my business to other countries for a while now. One of the investment I would like to make is to learn the native language. Since Spanish looks attractive to me, and also has a global reach it is my natural choice. So I was really surprised when I saw the Rosetta Stone Spanish Language Learning Book/CDs on TV.

I don't want to spend a huge amount of time on learning some new language. I want the easy way to learn Spanish in a successful way. Hence their 250 hours of Listening Comprehension, Reading and Speaking are really attractive to me. They make the conversation looks natural and easy to learn.

I think it is a nice product and I would like to try it sometime soon.

ScreenSaver Idea - Add Feeds Of Text Content And Photos
Screen saver is one of the popular ways to display beautiful images and sceneries when your computer is idle. It helps the monitor to save some life since the screen doesn't display the same content for more period of time.

But a static screen saver is boring. Who wants to look at the same old picture shown in cycles. If there is any dynamic or transition effects, then it might look interesting.

You could do all this, thanks to the collection of photo images in your computer and plenty of screen saver software. But how about increasing its quality even more? You could add feeds directly into your screen saver which can read the RSS and show them on your screen.

Coupled with multiple feeds, you almost got yourself a dynamic screen saver which can show all the latest headline. You could also add images from Flickr, maps from Mapquest etc to bring in the dynamic nature delivered straight to your screen.

Home Equity Loans - Great Tool To Buy Whatever You Want
I have been looking for Home Equity Loans for quite some time. Do you want to retain your existing customers to buy more products? If there is one thing that you need to do to improve your sales, it could be adding value to your customers. Give them what they want and they will come to you for more.

Even though giving customers what they want might look simple, I can assure you most of the websites doesn't follow the principle.

How can you achieve this goal?

Add related products section that closely resembles the existing product. It could be with respect to the different attribs of the existing products.

Also, make a internal calculation to determine the navigation path of your customer. If he clicks on a specific product, there is something that interested him. More note of it, in the cookie and do the analysis further more to see what interested him/her.

Display products which they like, and you got yourself one value added customer.

Find Loads Of Catridges For Your Printer
Are you looking out for some quality cartridges for your printers but don't know where to go? The Idea behind this is that, all the power intensive processing work can be taken away from the PC and the clouds of high powered servers can do the processing in the Internet.

This sounds real good. But is it feasible? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this model.

This technology is nothing new. For decades Microsoft has been working on this Technology. It hasn't implemented yet. But the latest Spy wares and Viruses give rise to the idea once more. They put the cookies on our systems, steal the processing power since our computers may not be equipped with latest virus softwares etc and has been taken advantage of.

This computing model is doing all the processing at the server and hence the resultant data is the only one which is presented to the end user. Sounds really good.

But it takes a lots of investment, and high computing servers to achieve this. It will be interesting to see who it turns out in the future.

Auto Insurance - Tips To Get The Best Deal For Your Car Insurance
Have you ever calculated which are the Top 5 expenditures in your household? If you did that, I betcha your Auto Insurance would come among one of the five. Its easy to understand. As the years pass by, the cost of insurance is also increasing.

What is the best way to get cheap car insurance but also you spend less money on it? Here are some of the tips that worked out for me:

If you are not a smoker or a drinker, you got good news. Make sure that your insurance provider also knows it. It will work out to your advantage.

Before applying for Car insurance, try shopping around online. If you haven't done that before I strongly suggest you to do it. You could save more money by doing this.

It always works to your advantage if you take car insurance along with Home insurance. The Insurance provider gives discounts if you choose both the insurances.

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
