You can manually input your facebook friend’s birthday in your google calendar or you can do it smartly by using fbCAL. One of the my favorite applications in facebook because it associates your facebook calendar to one of the popular event planning,calendar software and web applications available. So if you don’t like the feel of using Google Calendar then you can choose other applications in which you can  import the data.

First go to fbcal’s official website and click the button “Create your calendars Now“. Use your facebook account to login in fbCal and allow it to access your profile information and offline access.

When you’re in the main application you can choose two options. export your events and export the birthdays. Click the corresponding logo of Google Calendar and you’re done. There are times when fbCal’s export function doesn’t work so just download a copy of it and import the iCalendar File in your Google Calendar by going to Settings -> Calendar Tab -> Import Calendar. Choose the Downloaded iCalendar File  then wait for this confirmation to show. If unsuccessful repeat the import process until you got it right.

I have a hard time giving a description of a widget that tracks a website right at your desktop, but I assure you it’s one of the best AIR apps around that you’ll be keeping in your PC.

How it Works?

Snippage works by taking a portion of a web page that you want to track and acts like a widget. Every time the part of a site updates the widget also updates making it a great substitute for rss feeds. Basically it’s like a flexible browser that you can use that is very slick and has the ability to take any forms. To understand more about snippage here’s a screenshot of it.

You just need to choose what part of the web page you want to track  and drag the box where snippage will be snipping . You can then shrink the snippage browser view for it to become widget and you can drag it anywhere you like in your desktop.

You can add as many widgets you want. Just look for the upper right part of the windows for the corresponding buttons and you’re good to go. Anyway you need to have Adobe AIR in your pc for snippage to be installed.

A coder’s best friend, IDEone eliminates worries of looking for a testing ground for their source code to work. What you just need is a browser and an internet connection and there it is, problem solved. You have a working IDE with a built in checker(compiler?) if your code runs error free.

How to use IDEone?

Choose language, paste code and input data (optionally), choose whether your code ought to be executed and whether it ought to be private and click submit button. Then watch your code being executed, share it with your team or friends, or run it again with new input to debug.

At the time of this writing,  IDEone  supports 39 programming languages and is currently expanding. It’s still in beta phase, so most languages are currently being tested. Compilation time is 10 seconds and execution is 5s. There’s a memory constraint of 256mb and reading/writing files is prohibited. Syntax highlighting and a privacy setting is available as of the moment.

If you want a heavy duty IDE you can also take a look to a list of browser based IDEs with a much smaller scope of programming languages supported.

We will not be using Google’s search engine. Instead, we will use it’s Google Calendar as an SMS notification tool to keep you notified in certain events, birthday greetings and other things related to that. I’m assuming you now have a Google account to be used in Google Calendar. Log in using your account and get familiar with the interface.

The Main interface is like a big spreadsheet where you will input your scheduled greetings and plans. If you don’t understand a thing in the spreadsheet then perhaps it’s defaulted to weekly mode. You can adjust it by clicking the daily tab above the spreadsheet in the upper right corner of it. You can then click the spreadsheet to add your plans or use the links in the upper left corner for an added degree of customization.

When you are done with the preliminaries all you have to do is integrate Google calendar to your mobile phone. Click the Settings link in the upper right corner and go to mobile setup. Carefully input the fields needed and wait for the confirmation code to be sent in your mobile account. Submit your mobile code and enable SMS notifications to your events and plans. As of my experience Google does not charge you of the sms sent to you, so you can abuse the service without worry any fees.

Update: Just discovered a new problem… I’m receiving 0 visits when using this theme but when I change my theme it returns back to normal so I’ll not use my own custom theme until i fully fix the problem

Update: Just solved a major problem with my rss feed using a plugin. I accidentally edited some files in functions.php that caused my rss feed to malfunction

If you’re reading this article then you’ll be seeing a major difference in Technokyle’s look. Although digital nature’s mystique theme looked really good in my blog, I have to make a signature by making my very own custom theme. It took me 4 drafts in what kind of theme color and site layout I’ll be using and I’m fully satisfied now with it’s simplistic and semi-professional feel.

I’ve enjoyed a lot designing my theme and I have to give a thousand “thank yous” to Small Potato’s well written guide in making Wordpress theme. It’s very brief and straight to the point, perfect for newbies and starters who don’t have experience in making a Wordpress theme. Making a Wordpress theme is really easy if you just want to have a theme with basic functionality . But if you’ll be working with a theme for public release then you have to dig deeper with wordpress codex.I’m planning to release a wordpress theme for the public so I’ll be busy again for the coming weeks.

I’ll be updating some blog elements and details like  in depth description with my about page,blog policies and pages. For the readers of my blog I have to say thanks for the time spent reading my articles. I’ll be working hard with more SEO work and Quality Articles. I’m still bad with my grammar but I think I’ve improved a lot compared to my previous works. Backing up online data using another online service is the easiest and most hassle free thing you can do. That’s where Backupify comes, where organization of your backup data is just child’s play when you use them.

Registration is fairly easy, just a couple of minutes in filling up forms and then you’re done.You can choose if you want to use your own Amazon S3 account or you can choose the free one.  You’ll then be taken to your dashboard which shows the services you can easily integrate in backupify. The interface is really easy, the moment you see it you’ll definitely know what to do. I took a screenshot to the Regular Service that Backupify is currently supporting without any problems.

I’m totally impressed how backupify integrates the services above to make backing up data an easy task. If you click the “Manage” link you’ll have the option of adding several accounts that you want to backup. You just provide the password and username in some applications or authenticate some service for it to work. Take note that you’re in the settings page in managing the service. To view your backup files you have to go to the archive page and select the account you want to view.

Your first backup will take a couple of hours to see in the archive page. The schedule of backing up data can be set in a weekly or daily basis with an email to notify you that a backup is made.

At the time of this writing there’s a total of 13 service you can use ( including beta service) and 4 services listed that backupify will support in the near future.
