Google is purportedly thinking to contend with Apple’s own Safari browser by releasing a version of its Chrome Web browser for iOS devices. According to Macquarie Equities Research, the launch of Chrome for iOS on the App Store could come as soon as this quarter.

With the release of Chrome browser a new competition of modern web browsers on mobile devices will start. Apple has its own iOS plateform for web browsers that is called WebKit and all third-party web browsers must use that. Google’s Chrome for Android, Mac and Windows is already using the WebKit layout engine so Google will not have any new issue for developing a browser for iOS.

Analyst Ben Schacter of Macquerie said Chrome for PCs has been a “home run” for Google, as it has “importantly” decreased desktop traffic acquisition costs for the search giant. He expects that Google will launch a major marketing campaign to hype the debut of Chrome for iOS in the near future. The company has run television promotions for Chrome for desktops for some time, featuring several high profile celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, which all helped contribute towards quadrupling the company’s advertising budget in the U.S. last year.

As of right now, Google has released a mobile version of Chrome for its Google Play application store in February but continues to ship Android based operating devices with a generic browser. The free software still remains in beta but has been well reviewed thus far. We’ll have to wait and see how successful Chrome for iOS will be. Although it may seem redundant to have another web browser, having the option to choose between several apps never hurts.

Chrome for Android, one of the most requested and rumored merger of Google’s browsing technologies for mobile and desktop has been announced. The good news is that it will be readily available as a beta release for Ice Cream Sandwich based phones and tablets. Although the present Android browser has a lot of similarities with the desktop Chrome but the latest release of Chrome for Android shows more synergy, both of them are now based on Chromium Project which is an open source.

This release is a major achievement on technical grounds however it doesn’t mean there is nothing else for the users. The new Chrome for Android has a new UI, Google is coming up with a new, more natural looking tab management interface book marking and synchronization with desktop has been made better, support for Windows. Link Preview, a new utility that enables to select the right link in a populated page area.

After using the beta on Galaxy Nexus we can now clearly say that it is a reasonable upgrade of the Android browsers we have been used to. This launch in no way will modernize the browsing but will give yo a more comfortable and smooth browsing experience. Google normally focuses more on user experience and expectations like better scrolling, improved UI and enhanced pre-fetching. The new browser has been tested for smoother browsing on several rich pages except a few freezes but there is much less stumbling while zooming or fast scrolling operation.

Chrome for Android makes it a lot easier to resume your browsing session where you left it on your desktop, as it has the capability to keep track of each Chrome tab you opened on all of your computers any time. While installing Chrome for Android, you are asked if you want to link it to your Google account so it is synchronized with Chrome on all your machines. It works straight away, as we opened a new tab on the machine, this change is immediately reflected on the phone. Chrome for Android pops a list of opened tabs on each synchronized machine and asks for your choice if you want to open it.

Tabs management in Chrome for android has got a special spotlight, as the official statement from Google describes that managing tabs is like “if you are holding a deck of cards in the palm of your hands”

You can see the actual number of opened tabs in the permanently displaying Open Tabs button in the Chrome’s action bar. You can enter this card interface by tapping it, each tab will be displayed by a small thumb of the page where it was left opened last time. You can close it by tapping “X” on each card, moreover you can spread the cards by using two fingers and have a better view of what is in between the cards in case of multiple tabs.

Like other beta products Chrome for Android’s beta version has its own problems at this stage as we have mentioned above that we faced a few freezes while zooming and scrolling, Google must be aware of this fact that this is a beta product and is not without its flaws. Link Preview also needs some improvement as it failed to show the zoomed bubble to help select the correct link on a dense page. Also flash player from Adobe does not work on this app for the time being, although it is not a big issue for now.

Google has plans to make Chrome as a default browser for Android and this release of Chrome for Android seems to be a big step towards this goal. More over it will be a free Android market download and you can use it with other browsers on your phone.

It is reported by The Globe and Mail. It’s a Canadian paper that calls the iTV “a product that has the potential to revolutionize TV viewing by turning conventional televisions into gigantic iPads,” and declare at least two Canadian carriers are presently trying the Apple TV in their labs. The most interesting part of this device is that iTV can be controlled using voice commands or by making gestures in the air, the user can also browse Web on iTV according to reports.

The two main broadcasting companies in Canada Rogers and BCE are in talks with Apple to create a partnership in Canada.

Still no news on the content and terms and conditions of the partnership. iTV by Apple is expected to launch later this year and this HDTV will reinstate the usual remote control with voice commands of Siri.

There are rumors that iTV will also offer iOS app support and will also add a customized channel subscription.

Microsoft is planning for Windows 8 to expand its ribbon UI. A senior program manager on Windows Engineering System team explained in her post about some new developments with Windows 8.

The most remarkable part of news coming out of Redmond is that after getting a ’voluminous response’ on the contentious addition of the ribbon UI to Explorer, Microsoft has decided to hunt its execution in the final release of Windows 8. The ribbon UI first made its appearance in Microsoft’s Office suite of applications, and was also considered a hot update on more conventional file menu system.

As Ilana Smith said that though some users were quite vocal in their resistance to the ribbon UI being more broadly deployed in the Windows experience, a considerable best part of users gave the new UI component positive feedback saying that it enhanced their daily workflow. However, Smith was also quick to mention that the ribbon will be minimized by default and that users can choose to access the functionality if they choose. Further, Smith alluded to third-party interface alteration extensions that can tailor the way Windows functions ahead of the options Microsoft deploys. Microsoft also produced some graphs, embedded below, highlighting the users responses to the interface and the general use of its functionality.

Microsoft also summarize some less observable changes in the way Windows 8 functions as well as the way the OS identifies duplicate files during conflict resolution, the way copy works including the way confirmations and interruptions are handled, navigation pane scrolling, the way picture orientation metadata is handled, the pin to Start function, and the PowerShell.

Rumors of unveiling of iPad3 started spreading from different sources. One of the Japanese site macotakara reported on Tuesday that “iPad 3” along with iOS 5.1 will be unveiled in February.

iPad 2 was unveiled by Apple’s CEO Late Steve Jobs, at a March 2, 2011 press conference, regardless of being on medical leave at the time.

iPad 2 launching was very much successful and it was put on for sale just after nine days of its unveiling. But in case of iPad3 more duration gap is expected between its unveiling and launching.

A lot of talks are going on including that major electronic device manufacturing companies like foxcon and petagron will begin shipping the first iPad3 units in March 2012.

iPad 2 was 33% thinner and 15% lighter than iPad 1. As discussed, the change in iPad1 and iPad 2 was prominent and there are the expectations about the difference of features among iPad2 and iPad3. A rumor suggests that iPad3 will support a new high-resolution, Apple-branded “Retina Display” akin to the screens currently found on the iPhone and iPod touch including this that it will be sold on relatively reduced price that tells us that Apple might be adopting market penetration price strategy.

Macotakara had been talking about such type of rumors regarding Apple’s products in past also.

Few of them includes wrong reports that includes the release of new macbooks air with high speed 400 mbps flash memory but also reported accurately about the release of iPad 2 in March.

This mixed record of Macotakara’s reporting suggests a little uncertainty about news but a lot of people are waiting for the unveiling of iPad 3 believing this to be true with higher expectations from Apple’s new iPad version.

Many of Google Tools and the software Google Android is now universally used in tablet computers and smartphones from all well known companies in the world and Google will keep on changing lifestyles with its upcoming technologies.

Eric Schmidt who is the executive chairman of Google says that Google Android has a bright future and it will help home devices sync together with the opening of Android for home appliances for instance television sets and even refrigerators.

All together, various Google tools, for example “Google Flu Trends,” are becoming trendier and even necessary to its users.

In a latest study, researchers found that hospitals can keep an eye on reports about influenza thru Internet search traffic about that disease than wait for outdated government flue case reports. Exclusively, the study found a strong association between a rise in Internet searches for flu information, compiled by Google’s Flu Trends tool, and a following rise in cases of patients with flu-like symptoms.

Google Inc CEO Eric Schmidt

Researchers said that usually reports are compiled by using an arrangement of data about hospital admissions, laboratory test results and clinical symptoms, are often many days, sometimes weeks old by the time they reach practitioners and hospitals. But with the help of Google Flu Trends, they can collect data on search traffic for flu information on a daily basis by detecting and analyzing certain flu-related search terms.

Hardware manufacturing companies get Google Android as free from Google and Eric Schmidt says that it has a potential of doing much more.

“Indeed, there are companies that are putting Android in refrigerators,” Schmidt said. “Refrigerators do need some automation.”

“What you really want to be able to do is, as you walk into your house with your Android device, all the things that have computers in it sort of adjust as necessary,” he said. “When you go into the family room the television knows it’s you because your device authenticates you as opposed to other family members, a text message comes to you.”

Noting that there are currently 700,000 activations a day of Android devices, Schmidt said that the software could potentially do more.

“These numbers are growing very quickly,” he said. “Android, in my view, is on a billion unit plan.

Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 for non A5 idevices has been officially released by Chronic Dev team and iPhone Dev team. Below we will explain you the complete procedure on How to get an Untethered Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1.

pod2g stated on his blog “Hello, as expected, the Chronic Dev Team and the iPhone Dev Team have released the A4 untethered for 5.0.1 based on my work,”.

“Many thanks to @MuscleNerd for the testing he did on 5.0.1 devices!!!” pod2g tweeted. He also recommended A4 and A5 users not to update to 5.0.2 when it is out because that updated version of iOS may not perform well with this jailbreak.

Untethered jailbreak is available on iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4-CDMA, iPad1, iPod touch 3G and iPod touch 4G.

This time the untethered jailbreak will work in a different way, as the users will have to perform a tethered jailbreak before using Redsn0w to get an untethered jailbreak.

Here is something you should know before jailbreaking your device. If you jailbreak an iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1 device, you will not be able to perform over-the-air operating system updates unless you connect your device to a computer and run iTunes. You must jump through some extra hoops and use a custom IPSW with iOS 5.0.1, if your device is unlocked iPhone with ultrasn0w.

Upgrade a Tethered Jailbreak Device

If your device is running a tethered jailbreak, you can upgrade to untethered jailbreak via downloading and installing Chronic Dev Team’s new release called Corona.

1. Open the Cydia app on your tethered jailbroken device

2. Search for “Corona”

3. Click “Install” button (as shown in the screen grab below)

Or you can use iPhone Dev Team’s redsn0w (Here are the redsn0w download links: redsn0w 0.9.10b1 for OS X and redsn0w 0.9.10b1 for Windows, be sure to run in Administrator mode). It is exactly the same set of files as Chronic’s Cydia package.

Upgrade a Device That is not jailbroken

1. Make sure your supported device is running iOS 5.0.1. Prepare a computer installed iTunes. If everything is right, then download redsn0w 0.9.10b1 for Windows or OS X.

2. Extract the file to a directory on the prepared computer, and then open the directory.

3. Right-click on “redsn0w.exe” and choose “run as administrator.” You should click “yes” if it shows any popup.

4. Click “Jailbreak” button.

5. Follow the instructions, your device should be turned off and connecting with the computer. (“Turning an iOS device off isn’t quite as simple as tapping the power button. Make sure to press-and-hold the power button, then slide the red button that pops up to fully shut down your device,”

6. Then, click “Next Button”

7. Access into DFU mode: A. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds; B. Keep pressing the power button, press and hold the home button for 10 seconds; C. Keep holding the home button for another 15 seconds with lifting finger from the power button.

8. You need to wait for a few minutes, because Redsn0w is to identify your device and send data to it.

9. Before you click “Next”, make sure you have selected the option to install Cydia, and any other options that you like.

10. Your device will reboot. Then, more data will be sent to it. The redsn0w will tell you that the process is finished. Your device is jailbreaken when you see Cydia Store’s icon on your home screen.

Amazon Kindle Fire is in the market and Google Android works perfectly fine on it, this version is developed in such a way that it can work with Amazon’ Music, movie, book and of course with App Stores. The users were already using custom versions of Android by replacing the original Kindle Fire Software from the day the tablet shipped in the market. But now the trick and tools are available in the market and any user can install basic build of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the tablet.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich On Kindle Fire

A famous developer JackpotClavin has recently released a premature build of Android 4.0 for the Kindle Fire. The Android version is based on CyanogenMod 9 and at the moment it’s very buggy. Now it comes to some developers who can support to improve it and remove the bugs from this version and help JackpotClavin.

The main issue with the software is, it does not identify the sdcard portion of your device’s storage. So if you install any app which needs to read or write data from you sdcard will not work properly and there are some issues with the Audio function too.

The readers and users of Kindle Fire will think: Why they should install Ice Cream Sandwich on the tablet with too many problems with the software and the answer is:

You’re a developer and you may have some ideas for how to fix the left behind bugs and develop the general experience.

You’re insanely interested and would like to know what Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich looks like on the $199 tablet.

The procedure for installing Android 4.0 is very easy and simple, you can follow some earlier guides for installing TWRP 2.0,CyanogenMod 7, or other custom software.

The easy and simple way to get started is to use the latest Kindle Fire Utility to connect your tablet to a PC with a USB cable and root the tablet, install TWRP 2.0, and then use TWRP to perform backup your entire system, perform a factory wipe, and then flash JackpotClavin’s tryforsdcard.zip file.

There’s a very good chance you’re going to want to revert to CyanogenMod 7, Amazon Kindle OS 6.2 or 6.2.1, or whatever you were using before you decided to install a buggy version of Android 4.0 on the tablet, so make sure to make a backup with TWRP.

If that all sounds too complicated or unapproachable, you should must wait for an official alpha, beta, or final build of CyanogenMod 9 for the Kindle Fire. In the meantime you can check out the video below to see what Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich looks like on the Kindle Fire.

Success following Mozilla after its every product. Some months ago Mozilla has released a major desktop browser. Firefox 4, the latest version of Mozilla’s popular browser, was released in over 75 languages on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms, Firefox 4 boasts a robust set of new features including Panorama and App Tabs.

And now just after short time duration Mozilla has released a special version of browser Firefox 9 for Android.

Firefox 9 for Android has some revised features including one touch bookmarking and easy access to settings.

After a solid search Mozilla found a lot of problems that users were facing previously, Mozilla has provided solution to many of them including direct access to device’s camera.

Firefox 9 for Android can nearly match Chrome on JavaScript speed, and holds its own when it comes to HTML5 support and a trimmed down interface that gives the Web page center stage. But when compared side-by-side with Chrome, Firefox falls just a bit short in terms of HTML5 support and whiz-bang features like Chrome Instant, which loads pages from your history before you even finish typing their addresses or search terms in the address bar.

Firefox 9 for Android is having good user ratings yet, because of many different features users are moving towards it.
