By activating this feature you can save lots of time. You can use lots of keyboard shortcuts to save your time. A new setting tab will automatically added to your Gmail setting from the help of which  you can remap keys to various actions. Here are a keyboard shortcuts.

Google Search You don’t need to go to other tab to search on Google. By activating the feature a search box will appear inside your mail window and it will displays Google search results inside your mail window, letting you quickly find things and use them when you’re writing an email.

Inserting images

You can insert image directly in you mail. You don’t need to attach image file. You can upload and insert image files in your computer, or insert images by URLs.

Undo Send

This is called as panic button of Gmail. After sending the mail if you realize your mistake in your mail, you don’t need to worry, after enabling this Gmail lab feature an option of undo will appeared on the upper side of mail window. You will get some extra seconds from Gmail to edit the sent mail.

Tasks adds a to-do list to Gmail. After adding the lab, click the Tasks link above the chat box on the left-hand-side of the page. Your task list will appear on the right – click anywhere in the list and start typing to add a task.

Email Addict
If you are Gmail addict then this feature is specially made for you. After particular time interval your screen will block. You can take a break from email and chat for 15 minutes.

By using CSS Sprites we are able to lighten up this interface.We may use one single image instead of 6 images.We can combine them into one big image.Create a new image that is as wide as your widest image and and as tall as the combined height of all your images plus X pixels, where X is the number of images you have. Now place you images into this new image, left aligned, one on top of the other with one pixel of white space in between.

There is a single background-image applied to the anchor element itself, and the unique classes merely shift the background position with negative Y coordinates.

During this the HTTP Request time reduces and size of images reduces.This is done for only 6 images ,and if you are usimg it in your website then you will be able to find some dynamic changes.

Before going further on thesis customization we should know about the custom keys. All the thesis customization is carried with the help of files located in custom folders. Mainly there are two files:

1. custom.css
2. custom_functions.php

How to change the thesis header with your own logo

If you want to change your logo then you should use the following style sheet in your custom.css file. Copy and paste this code in your custom.css file and upload your logo image in custom/images folder of the thesis theme.

How to change the header background

In the above described styles( for changing logo) we already used a header background to matched it with the layout. Here is an example:

Points to be noted:

1. Don’t forget to upload the images in custom/images. In hurry we upload the images in the root images folder and face the problems.
2. Don’t try to edit another style sheet apart from custom.css. In case you are a css expert you can carry the changes but you need to change them again at the time of thesis upgrade. So its better to change the css only from custom.css.

To avoid duplicate content use canonical URL in wordpress.This is the definition given in Google’s Webmaster Central Blog a format that allows you to publicly specify your preferred version of a URL. If your site has identical or vastly similar content that’s accessible through multiple URLs, this format provides you with more control over the URL returned in search results. It also helps to make sure that properties such as link popularity are consolidated to your preferred version.
It is very easy to specify the canonical URL of a page – all you have to do is add this line in the head section…

The purpose of this tag is to prevent the problem of duplicate content.

The best thing about this tag is that all three major search engines(Google, Yahoo and MS Live) support this initiative.

Go to the theme folder in wordpress(wp-content/themes/
) and open the file header.php in your favorite editor. Now find the line…

and add the following code before that line…

text-shadow: 3px 3px 4px #000;

The text-shadow property looks cool, but it is currently not supported by major browsers including Firefox 3.0, but will be supported in Firefox 3.1 beta. Browsers that support this CSS3 property are Safari 3+, Konquerer, Opera9.5+ and iCab.

For example,

This text will show a drop shadow in Safari, Opera or other supported browsers.

Here first two values are offset of shadow from original text corresponding to right and top offset respectively while third numeric value is the amount of blur radius that causes pixels of the shadow text to stretch by the specified amount.

Positive values for right and top offset will position your shadow to right and bottom while negative values will change it accordingly.

You can play with offset and blur values to create really nice looking text effects just with CSS. If you have been using this property for a while and created some really nice looking effects, let us know in comments below.

Why text-shadow is good?
The main goal of this property is to give designers and css coders a tool to make text effects, which could only be done before by rendering text as images with all the side effects. Text rendered as an image isn’t searchable and therefore very undelicious for search engines. Another side effect is the fact that images can be way more bigger as one small line of code in terms of file size. As you may know most css-files, which contain the whole layout of a website, are smaller than one image on most websites. So it’s really clever to use a css function instead of images for reducing unnecessary traffic.
