Wait there, this post doesn't give you the answer for "What is there beyond websites, mobile applications or any technologies what we use today?". We ourselves are trying to find the answer for it ;).

One can see minor or/and major changes/advancements in the field of technology in our day-to-day life, thus it is difficult to predict where we are would reach in terms of technology.

When we took a look at the most advanced technologies what we have today, we found few things which took major leap in the advancement are:

iPhone was not just a mobile phone which one could carry with them easily, it is one of the device which made a revolution in the cellphone industry by integrating many things. One can use it as a Business phone, for playing mind boggling games, once can use Siri to work faster, smarter and easier and many other uses which makes this a ever scrolling list.

How To Enable the new feature "Timeline" in Facebook

If you are all ready to go through the 8 simple steps in Facebook, you can enable the Facebook Timeline much before your friends. Facebook has started rolling out this new feature to the developers and also to all the users, it said to go public by first week of October'2011. We know it is hard to wait for 2 weeks to see and experience the new interface. So, below are few things to note and instructions to enable the facebook Timeline on your profile:

Important things to Note:

Expect bugs. Since, this hasn't rolled out to public you should expect bugs and you can report them here.
Once you enable this new feature, you will have an option to see this only to yourself and wait for facebook to publish it (in a fornight's time) or you publish it immediately.
Initially (Now), it might work ONLY in the machine where you activate this feature, you will have to go through these steps if you want to see this feature in a different macine.

Your Facebook account should be verified, either a mobile number or a credit card should be connected to your account.
After activation, be sure to check your privacy settings and also make the necessary changes in your Timeline so that your friends don't see any OLD wall posts which you think is not good have it in your at this moment.
You are allowing access to Facebook Developer application and it doesn't mean that you are building or going to build any application. All you need to do after allowing access is to work around few basic settings, simple.

Instructions:

Log into Facebook.
Enable developer mode, if you haven’t already. To do this, type “developer” into the Facebook search box, click the first result (it should be an app made by Facebook with a few hundred thousand users), and add the app and grant the access.

Jump into the developer app (if Facebook doesn’t put you there automatically, it should be in your left-hand tool bar). Direct Link
Create a new app. You will not be publishing this app neither to Facebook nor for the other users to view/use. Give your new app any display name and namespace. Read through and agree to the Platform Privacy agreement. This is the step you need to be verified for.
Ensure you’re in your new app’s main settings screen. You should see your app’s name near the top of the page.
Look for the “Open Graph” header, and click the “Get Started using open graph” link.

Create a test action for your app, like “read” a “book”, or “eat” a “sandwich”
This should drop you into an action type configuration page. Change a few of the default settings, and click through all three pages of settings and wait for few minutes.
Go back to your Facebook homescreen. An invite to try Timeline should be waiting at the top of the page.

If you have ever clicked the “Go To Application” button on the Facebook Developer Application Page. It isn't easy to remove this application, as it doesn't appear either in the Applications Menu [left hand side bar, below the profile image] and on the "Applications and Websites Menu"

Google Search Now Alerts Users When a Site Has Been Compromised

We know most of them have been benefited by the Google's service on search issues like

"This site may harm your computer" notifications, which will display an alert when a harmful website is listed its search results page.

Now, there is another security feature released in Google's search engine that alerts users when a website is compromised by hackers. Google is trying at its best to make this web a safer place, and this feature will add a notification in the search results as "This site may be compromised" for the websites which are compromised.

This alert will avoid people visiting compromised websites and thus, it avoids users becoming the victims of malware, spamming and phishing attacks.

If you see this message for your own website or a favorite website of yours in the Google search results, request the webmaster to check for any suspicious codes within the website and clean up the site if you see any (it means, it has been hacked). You can also visit here investigate and resolve the issue.

Difference between "This site may harm your computer" and "This site may be compromised".

"This site may harm your computer" is displayed when Google's malware detection system identifies a site as potentially hosting malware.

"This site may be compromised" is displayed when a site is classified as either hacked or compromised but has not detected a malware.

Google also stated that "In both cases, our detection might not be perfect -- we continually work on improving our system -- but it would be wise to proceed with caution."

Google Chrome Stable Version 8 Is Out-Download Now

Google has released the latest and stable version 8 of its browser Chrome.

This stable version brings around 800 bug fixes, 13 security vulnerabilities and the most awaited built-in PDF viewer. It supports Google's upcoming Web Apps which will allow shoppers to browse Flash and HTML5 apps in the near future.

Chrome appears to be using Foxit's PDF SDK software
(yes, not from Adobe), but the built-in Flash Player is from Adobe.

The latest build (8.0.552.215) is available for all the OS platforms like, Windows, Mac OS and Linux. Recently Google had promised that the release cycle of Chrome versions will be accelerated and the new build will be pushed out every six months.

Chrome 7 was released less tan two months ago and now there is Chrome 8 stable built which you can download it from here.

Sony Reader Apps for iPhone & Android

Sony may be a bit late for launching its e-reader apps for iPhone and Android devices. But now, Sony has confirmed that it will be launching its e-reading apps for iPhone and Android devices by next month (December).

Angry Birds, which is a puzzle video game from Rovio Mobile Ltd, is one of the most addictive and successful mobile game, this game will be entering the game consoles platform soon.

According to the sources form Rovio, we have learnt that Rovio is working on a new version which will be compatible for the Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3.

Peter Vesterbacka, CEO of the Rovio, has told the BBC that the games would be launched in next year and he has not disclosed any other details on these releases.

Vesterbacka also revealed on other great news for Angry Bird lovers, the developer are working on Angry Birds 2.

And this new game is not the sequel to the original game, the new game would feature the same characters, Angry Birds and Evil Pigs, but it will be something different from what you see on the existing one, like pigs being more active than what you see now.

We hope that the Angry Birds 2 will be released on all the major gaming platforms.

FarmVille, which is said to be one of the most addictive game in this social networking era and also the worst inventions (by Time Mag) is not in the number one position on Facebook, the first position is taken by an application called Phrases.

According to sources, FarmVille had around 80 million monthly active users by February 2010; it was in the number one position by overtaking other games and other apps on all other categories. Currently, the app Phrases is on top with around 54.4 million monthly active users, followed by FarmVille which has 53.9 million monthly active users.

However, the app Phrases is not exactly a game and doesn't fall under games category, it is a do-it-yourself quiz and trivia application. FarmVille as a game continues to be on the top position.

FarmVille grabbed the top position on Facebook in August 2009 and it was maintaining the 1st position ever since.
However, Phrases may not be on the top for a long period, as the app was disabled for US users. This has resulted in daily active user counts to drop fast. According to the online game developer magazine, Gamasutra, the app Phrases may see a hug drop in its users, it the application remains disabled for US users. Yahoo will be rolling out a new tool named as Rich Search Assist. Yahoo's aim is to make searching easy, you just don’t have to type the entire term/query in the search box, just start typing a term to see the suggested answers.

Rich Search Assist, helps a user by not only predicting what you type in, it also tries to predict the answers to your query which you have not finished typing. This is really a good move from Yahoo and this should work in a similar way to Google's Instant Search. It is said that, the previews of search results will include its ads which would not affect the searching performance or experience. And this feature is enabled only for a small portion of user base; it should become available to all Yahoo users in few months.

Links disabled in Messenger 2009 to prevent malicious worm

Few users over the last two days may have noticed the links which were not working in Windows Messenger 2009. This is temporary security measurement taken by Windows Live team to ensure that the malicious worm does not spread across the computers.

Windows Live team has posted a security alert on their website and this is to warn users to be safe while using Messenger 2009. And the Windows Live Messenger 2011 is safe to use, as it is not affected by any worms and users can upgrade to 2011 to use the latest version with all the features enabled. Messenger 2011 is safe to use, as the links which are clicked on Messenger 2011 will go through Microsoft's SmartScreen before you see the actual page.

Windows Live Messenger 2009-Warning

The malicious worm is quickly spreading through Messenger 2009, sending messages to all the contacts which are in victims contact list. When a victim clicks on the link, the malicious worm will be downloaded and installed in the victim’s computer and it will start sending the links again to the users who are in the victim's contact list. This process will be repeated with all the users when they click the link.

For now, Messenger 2009 users can see a warning on their messenger window, as "You can still chat, but some features might not be available because of a connections problem." This is just a warning from the Windows Live team, it is recommended that users are using the latest version Anti Viruses with latest definitions updated. And don't click on any URL, even if it is sent by your friends, just verify them with the sender and proceed.

A Student from Mangalore wins the 2nd Doodle4Google Competition

14-year-old school boy's Doodle is being displayed on Google India's Homepage on the Children's Day (Nov 14th). The winner is Akshay Raj, who is 9th grade student from St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, India. This competition was open for students between grade 1 to grade 10. The winning doodle it titled as "Technically and Naturally Growing India" and you can check the doodle on google.co.in today. Akshay's work was chosen from over 108,000 doodle submitted by students across the country.

And Akshay has received a Technology Starter Packagge and an INR 2,00,000 technology grant for his school.

Send Files/Links Directly From Your PC to Phones

Spending time on Internet and on social networking sites has become a part of one's life and most of the people rely on bookmarking sites or emails or cloud computing applications like dropbox to access one piece of information across all their computers and devices. This article describes about the best application which us used to send links and also text files, right from your Browser/Computer or PCs to your cellphones:

This service can be used to send links and text from your desktop to your phone with the help of an add-on/bookmarklet which can be found here. For now this application supports iOS Devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod), Android, WebOS, Blackberry 6 and Windows Phone 7. The add-on is available only for chrome, IE 8 and 9, but one can use their bookmarklet on any of the major browsers like, Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari and Opera.

Once the add-on is installed on your computer or once you hit the bookmarklet you need to add Site to Phone icon to your phone. And you can start sending the links to your phone once the cellphone is configured and you are logged in to the account.

You can open all the links which were sent from your browser. In chrom the right click context menu gets an additional feature which reads "Send image to phone" when you right click on an image, this makes sending URLs which was never easy in the past. And the best part is the links sent to phones will be saved in the history.

Spam Posts On Your Facebook Wall

Everyone is aware of E-mail, Instant Messenger and other ways of spamming. But don't have much information on how the spammers make use of Facebook, Facebook wall and our friends on the world's largest social networking site.

Here is an example on how spamming works in Facebook:

Your friend will post on your wall as "Ha ha this girl gets caught by her DAD taking it off on her webcam!"

Let the Father do whatever with his daughter, but you just don't click on the post. When I clicked this URL it took me to a blank page (thank god!) "http://apps.facebook.com/youcanalwaysbeee/". If you still click, it might take you to any third party sites which might harm your computer. In case if you receive or see any links/URLs which looks suspicious.

Just check out my tips below to safeguard your computer, your profile and your friends:

Mouse Hover over the URL and see the status bar for the hyperlinked URL.
In my case I was able to see "http://apps.facebook.com/youcanalwaysbeee/"
Just type this URL on a notepad (Right clicking to "copy" is not recommended, what if you click left click by mistake?)
And search in google.com for more details on the URL.
And just avoid clicking on unknown links.

NEC to launch Android based "LifeTouch" Tablet

NEC LifeTouch

Another Tablet named LifeTouch is joining the group of Android based tablets by the end of this month. LifeTouch is a product from the the Japanese IT Company, NEC Corporation. This tablet should be a best fit for corporate customers and it is mainly targeted at Japanese corporate customers.

It is a 9-inch pen input-capable display (described as a “Retina Touch Panel”) and it has ARM Cortex A8 processor, a 3 MP Camera, 384MB of RAM and 1GB ROM, and an SD card slot, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, GPS and various sensors and Android 2.1 OS. It is said that it will be released in Japan by the end of this month and there is no information for rest of the places and also the price.
