Download Redsnow 0.9.14b1 To Downgrade Baseband 6.15.00 For iPhone 3G/3GS

The iPhone Dev-Team has released Redsn0w 0.9.14b1 which lets you downgrade iPhone 3GS, 3G baseband06.15.00 to unlockable baseband 05.13.04. This will finally fix the GPS issues caused by the special iPad baseband, and will allow iPhone 3G/iPhone 3GS users to restore to stock IPSW’s. As such, in this how to guide you will learn how to downgrade your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS from the 06.15.00 baseband to the 05.13.04 baseband with the Windows version of RedSn0w 0.9.14b1.

Tutorial to Downgrade iPhone 3 / 3GS Baseband (06.15.00 to 05.13.04) with Redsn0w 0.9.14b1:

Step-1: Firstly download the current iOS .IPSW firmware file for your device from here. Also grab the latest version of Redsn0w through following links:

Step-2: Now open the already downloaded Redsn0w jailbreak tool and click on the “Extras” button.

Step-3: Now chose the “Select IPSW” option and browse for the .IPSW firmware file which you downloaded.

In Step 1, After successfully verifying the firmware file, Redsn0w will now ask you wether you have a newer or older iPhone 3GS model. Proceed according to the given onscreen instructions.

Step-4: Now go back and click on the “Jailbreak” button to initialize the jailbreaking process.

Step-5: Now Redsn0w will present you a number of options to chose from. Select the”Downgrade from iPad Baseband” option and untick “Install Cydia” if you’ve already installed it.

Step-6: Before proceeding any further, make sure your device is turned off and connect it with your PC/Mac. Now follow the onscreen instructions to put your device in the DFU mode:

Step-7: After a few minutes, Redsn0w will inform you that the rest of process will now take place on your device. Now your iPhone will boot with the famous Pwnage logo on the screen and a note saying Flashing Baseband. Don’t make panic at this moment and relx as this process will take a very long time to complete.

When the process is done, your device will reboot again and start as usual, but now you are on the 05.13.04 Baseband. Now use the latest version of Ultrasn0w from Cydia to unlock your device.

How to Install CyanogenMod 9 Android 4.0.4 ICS On Galaxy S III GT-i9300

The most popular custom ICS firmware i.e. CyanogenMod 9 or CM9 has finally been released for the all new Samsung Galaxy S3. CyanogenMod is the most Popular android ROM and now has been released for the Samsung Galaxy S III GT i9300. As of course this time too, the News came from the XDA-developers forums. One of the hacker over there has successfully installed the working CM9 ROM on Galaxy S III.

Now, if you want to install CM9 ICS ROM on your Galaxy S III, then here are the pre-requirements and steps you will need to follow :

Note: We don’t hold any responsibilities if you brick your phone while rooting your device with CM9 Nightly build. So we recommend to follow all the steps while rooting your device and installing CM9 on it.

How to Install CyanogenMod 9 (CM9) Android 4.0.4 ICS Firmware / ROM on Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300:

Step 1: Root your Galaxy S III and flash ClockworkMod Recovery to it.

Step 2: Download the latest nightly build of CM9 [CM Downloads] and Google Apps for CM9 [Goo.im]. Transfer both to directly under /sdcard on your Galaxy S III.

Step 3: Shut down your device. Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery by holding the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons.

Step 4: Take a nandroid backup. This will come handy later on if you wish to revert back to previous setup.

Step 5: Navigate to install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > [CM9 .zip file you downloaded in Step 2].

Step 6: Similarly, you must flash Google Apps.

Step 7: From ClockworkMod’s main menu, perform wipe data / factory reset.

Step 8: Choose reboot system now from the main menu.

If you followed the steps correctly, your device will now boot into CyanogenMod 9 based on Android 4.0.4 ICS. The developer advises not to reinstall apps using Titanium Backup. Also, if your Wi-Fi doesn’t work, remove .cid.info from /data using a root-ready file explorer (e.g. ES File Explorer).

What New Features That Apple Brings In IOS 6

Apple Monday kicked off the 2012 Wordwide Developers Conference in San Francisco with a keynote presentation by CEO Tim Cook and others. The computer and everything iOS maker announced new hardware, along with iOS 6, the next version of its mobile operating system.

The changes include improvements to Siri, which has been criticized for being too beta-like, the introduction of Apple's own Map app, the integration of Facebook, as well as various tweaks to the Phone app, FaceTime, Safari, Mail, Photo Stream and more. A developer beta is available today, while everyone else (dating back to the 3GS) will have to wait until later this year.

Eyes Free for the auto makers and vehicle owners:

The latest “Eyes Free” feature in the operating system allows the auto makers to easily integrate the hardware button in the cars which activates Siri in an automatic fashion. Using this feature, the users can thus launch Siri and that too without using their phone. Mercedes, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Audi, BMW, Land Rover and Jaguar will offer this great feature soon.

Siri:

iOS 6 brings sports to Siri. You can now ask her for the latest scores of your favorite sport. Siri also features an improved detail view for restaurants sorted according to ratings from OpenTable.

Apple has partnered with Rotten Tomatoes to let Siri address all your movie related queries. You can watch trailers, ask for actors, directors and a lot more. Apple has also added some long awaited features to Siri including the ability to open apps and tweet. Siri's also learning a bunch of new languages. You can now speak to Siri in Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese and a lot of other languages as well.

Phone app:

Apple even improves the overall standard application in iOS 6. Thus, the users now get the option of “Remind Me Later” and the “Reply with a message” facility when any call comes. The auto message like “ I’ll call you later” may even be sent to the particular caller or one can be reminded to even call back in one hour or so, when you get back home, when you leave the work or even when you get to the work. The latest “Do Not Disturb” facility further allows the users to put the phone on sleep. This way, they will not see any message or light when a call comes. One can moreover allow just the calls from the favorite people or even block the repeated calls.

Facebook:

This time last year, Apple introduced iOS 5 with Twitter integration, and the company has given Facebook similar treatment this time around. You can now post to Facebook directly through Apple's app, including images yanked from the Photos app. Apple's Facebook solution is integrated with Siri as well as the Calendar app allowing events to be synchronized. Also, the company will provide an API, so third-party applications will be able to pull information from or post information to Facebook.

Map:

With iOS 6, Apple has introduced a new home-baked Maps application that is set to replace the Google Maps app that has come standard on the iPhone and iPad for years. Apple’s map solution offers turn-by-turn directions, 3D maps, traffic updates, and route recommendations. Thing is, some of these have been built into Google Maps on Android for quite some time now. In fact, the only new piece of the puzzle are 3D maps which Google announced would be coming to Google Maps at some point in the near future. Additionally, while this is available for most Android devices, this feature will likely be coming to the iPhone 4S, iPad 3 and the next iPhone only.

Safari:

The Safari in this version of the operating system has been improved and updated with the iCloud tabs as well as the capacity to help the users read the articles in the offline more. Also, they can save the articles in a list and this includes the headlines as well as snippet of every saved article. Pictures from the Safari can even be uploaded with ease on other sites.

FaceTime:

Apple has indeed finally made the FaceTime available over the 3G connections. Since its very launch, it just worked over the Wi Fi connections and that was a real limitation. But now, it is available over 3G and one can expect the usage of FaceTime to increase considerably. The feature will even combine the phone number of the user and the Apple ID thereby permitting them to answer either the phones or the FaceTime application on Mac or phone.

Photo Stream:

iOS 6 will add social features to Photo Stream where you can choose friends and share your images with them. Your friends would then get a notification, and the images would appear in an album on their devices on which they can comment. (Facebook must be really jealous of this sort of deep integration.)

Passbook:

The latest operating system features the app called Passbook which allows the users to easily store the shopper cards, boarding passes, movie tickets and a lot more. Charles Golvin, the analyst at Forrester Research highlights that Passbook may be the very foundation for digital commerce that the brand is working hard to implant on the mobile devices beginning with the upcoming iPhone.

iOS 6 would be available for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S, the iPad 2 and the new iPad and the 4th gen iPod touch.

Apple has finally launched iOS 6, something we had been waiting for quite some time. iOS 6 brings many new features such as upgraded Siri, do not disturb feature, flyover and many more. The links that are floating, after being first leaked by a Chinese tech forum, have beta versions included for third generation Apple TVs, iPad 2, fourth generation iPods and iPhone 3G, 4 and 4S.

The original version of the iPad will not be supported through this beta version. In an interesting turn, it has two versions- one the consumer and an enterprise version, which is being forked as Apple’s OS especially for business users. This could pose a serious threat to RIM’s business.

RapidLinks: Open Favorite Five Sites Through Gestures [Cydia Tweak]

RapidLinks Cydia tweak allows you to select five favorite URLs (links) and get access to them just with an Activator action from any app or home screen. This new Cydia tweak allows users to create a list of their favorite URLs, which can then be accessed from anywhere in iOS by simply performing a selected Activator gesture. This means you don’t have to launch Safari, tap the address bar and then key in the address of your favorite websites.

You might notice from the screenshots that I did just about everything wrong at my first try. RapidLinks won’t work if you don’t include the “http://” alongside with the url. (Or if you reverse the URL and its label.) The app does include warning that the “http://” is required, so fair warning. If you do enter the URLs in wrong, it’s not a big deal though. The links just won’t work.

RapidLinks is available for FREE from the ModMyi repository in Cydia. It’s a default Cydia repository, so all you need to do is search for it.

Is Facebook looking to buy Opera to Create Own Facebook browser?

According to sources at Pocket-lint, Facebook is looking to purchase Norwegian browser makers Opera Software for an undisclosed (but likely sizeable) sum. According to sources from Pocket-lint, the company could be about to expand into the browser space to take on the likes of Google, Apple, Microsoft, Mozilla and now even Yahoo. Facebook company is looking to create its own web browser, possibly one compatible with the oft-rumoured Facebook phone, and that it is looking towards Opera to achieve this goal.

Opera recently released versions of its browser for the iPad, iPhone and Android, and it is still very popular on Symbian. That focus lines up with Facebook’s recent M&A activity. There are roughly 200 million people using Opera on a daily basis.

With getting closer and closer to 1 billion users, having a browser will no doubt send shock waves in what is already a fierce battle between Google with Chrome and Microsoft with Internet Explorer. With the addition of a browser, rumored Application store, buying/built a Camera interface with Instagram and it’s own newly released iOS application, Lightbox for gallery. The only thing left for a full on blitz is an operating system. However after seeing what Amazon did with the Kindle, could a Forked Android version be what Facebook is soon to be looking at building

We haven’t heard anything from Facebook or Opera on this and we’re still going to throw this in the rumor category until we get something more concrete. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Facebook buying more mobile companies in the not-too-distant future, though.

Apple Releases iOS 5.1.1 Build 9B208 Firmware For iPhone 4 (GSM)

Apple released a new iOS 5.1.1 Build 9B208 for iPhone 4 GSM. The prior build for iOS 5.1.1 on iPhone 4 GSM version is labeled as 9B206.

The iOS 5.1.1 Build 9B208 firmware has not yet been tested with the latest Absinthe 2.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak and thus it is important that you do not update your iPhone 4 to it. With a new firmware being released by Apple this is a good indication that you should save your SHSH blobs for iOS 5.1.1 if you have not already. This will allow you to downgrade your iOS device if you accidentally update to a firmware that has not been Jailbroken yet.

So, whatever you do, just hold off from updating until we, or the jailbreak dev teams give you the green light. Till then, you may sit back and forget that iOS 5.1.1 9B208 ever happened.

We have already reported about the release of Absinthe 2.0 to jailbreak most of all the iOS devices like iPhone 4S, iPad 3 etc untethered on iOS 5.1.1. Now ih8sn0w has updated his popular custom firmware creation tool Sn0wbreeze. Sn0wbreeze 2.9.4 has been released to make custom IPSW files for baseband preservation but still there is no luck for owners of A5 devices.

Like the same procedure you have tried with older version of sn0wbreeze, 2.9.4 also provides the same except now with iOS 5.1.1 untether support for all the A4 devices. Untethered jailbreak does not require any boot utilities every time you restart your iPhone 4 or any other A4 powered Apple devices. As you might have already known that this is a Windows only software, so if you want to jailbreak your iPhone 4 untethered on iOS 5.1.1, you need to have a Windows installed computer or laptop with you.

Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 Untethered On iPhone 4S, iPad 3, iPod touch Using Absinthe 2.0

Today, Chronic Dev-Team, in collaboration with the iPhone Dev-Team, has released Absinthe 2.0, the untethered iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. After months of waiting, you can download the Chronic Dev Team’s free Absinthe tool to jailbreak your iOS device in a matter of minutes.

Before we proceed, here is a list of all the devices supported by Absinthe 2.0:

iPad (3rd Generation)
iPad 2
iPad
iPhone 4S
iPhone 4 (GSM/ CDMA)
iPhone 3GS
iPod touch (4th Generation)
iPod touch (3rd Generation)

Absinthe 2.0 will only work for device that are already on iOS 5.1.1. So, first of all, update your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to the latest version of iOS.

Note: If you are currently on iOS 5.1.1 with a tethered jailbreak, simply install Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether instead.

How To Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 Untethered With Absinthe 2.0:

Step 1:Create a backup of the device via iTunes if you don’t want to lose all your apps and data.

Step 2: Download Absinthe 2.0 from Here .

Step 3: Double click the downloaded file, the files will be extracted in a new folder absinthe-win-2.0 open the folder and double click the absinthe-win-2.0.exe file to run the program.

Step 4: Connect your device to your computer running Absinthe, and ensure that Absinthe detects the exact device that you connect. Make sure your device is turned on and at the Home screen. You do not have to use DFU mode at all.

Step 5: Click ‘Jailbreak’ jailbreak will start and you must wait for few minutes. Now your device is jailbroken untethered on iOS 5.1.1. Open Absinthe from your springboard and wait for upload the application. Incase of error try again and again.

Step 5: Once complete, you should receive an alert on Absinthe telling you that the jailbreak is complete, and you should see the Cydia app icon on your Home screen. It is now safe to unplug your device. Congrats! You now have an untethered iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak!

One of the great things about Absinthe and something which users – and us – love is the simplicity of the tool. Although the production and implementation of a jailbreak is extremely difficult and requires a very unique skill set, the dev teams have managed to produce a tool that is extremely user-friendly and simple to use.

Since Apple released version 5.1.1 for its iOS platform, everyone in the jailbreak community have been anxious for a release of an untethered jailbreak for it. Finally, pod2g and the Chronic Dev team have just released Absinthe 2.0 - iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV at the HITBSecConf 2012. Absinthe 2.0 is the first jailbreak for the new iPad (3rd generation iPad).

The Chronic Dev Team made the announcement this morning:

DMD Panorama is not laid out to be too confusing for a casual user, and thus, starts off with the main camera screen. If you want help in determining the app’s working, just tap the “i” button in the bottom right corner of the camera screen. To start creating a panorama, you have to hold your iDevice vertically, i.e., in portrait mode. Point the camera to the spot from where you want to begin the panorama. If you click on the “gallery” button, you can get access to your panoramas and share them with the world. If you created an account within the app, you can upload your images to their server, which allows you to get access to them from anywhere, and it allows other people with the app to see your images.

You can also tap the Facebook or Twitter logo to share your images with friends. You can email your images or save them to the camera roll on your device.

Sony Music Unlimited Now Available for iPhone - Download Now

Sony has released an iPhone app for Music Unlimited - its music streaming service to compete with services like Spotify. The app called Music Limited is available now as a free download from the App Store.

Listen to your personal collection of songs and playlists when matched via any PC using Music Sync.

Subscriptions come in two flavors: Basic and Premium. The Basic subscription allows for streaming between multiple devices, music sync, access to pre-created channels, access to channels built around your favorite artists, social network connectivity, and international access. This service sounds a lot like Last.FM and Pandora, minus the Scobbling. It’s priced at $3.99 a month.

The Premium package adds on-demand playback, which allows you to listen to any song you want in Music Unlimited libraries, as well as premium channels and the ability to browse new releases. The Premium subscription service offers a 30-day trial, and costs $9.99 a month. The business model, down to the 30-day free trials, sounds a lot like Netflix for music.

It’s right now at the New Zealand App Store, and should trickle out to other countries as clock strikes twelve on 22nd May.

Untethered Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 with Absinthe 2.0

Good news today for those waiting on an untethered jailbreak for iOS devices running the latest iOS 5.1.1 software. It looks like updated versions of the popular Absinthe and RedSn0w jailbreaks may be released as soon as this week and offer an untethered jailbreak for nearly all iOS devices on iOS 5.1.1.

Xvolks, a part of Pod2g’s jailbreak team, has revealed how he can untether an iDevice with the help of Absinthe v2.0, according to latest reports.The news of Xvolks working on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 has only recently arrived after Pod2g confirmed on Twitter that his upcoming untethered jailbreak for devices running iOS 5.1.1 is in its final stages, and will be released in the coming days. Although no real ETA was provided for the release, it is believed that Pod2g’s work will arrive this Thursday or Friday.

As regards the devices which will be compatible with the new version of the tool Absinthe 2.0, there is going to be hardly any disappointment as almost all devices running on iOS 5.1.1 have been covered. The devices already tested on the mainframe of the new tool include iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 CDMA, iPhone 4 , iPhone 3GS, iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 1 , iPad 2 GSM , iPad 2 CDMA, iPad 3 CDMA, IPad 3 Wi-Fi, iPod 4G and iPod 3G . The devices whose testing has still not been completed but which are expected to work on the new version are iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 3 global and Apple TV 2. Apple TV 3, however, will not be supported by the tool.

How to Root the New Samsung Galaxy S3

Samsung Galaxy S3 is yet another big hit from the best selling android smartphones company, Samsung. This Galaxy S3 was one of the most anticipated smartphone of the year 2012 and another piece of good news is that the Samsung Galaxy S3 can now be rooted easily, a developer over at XDA-forums has made this possible.

Please Note : Rooting your android phone will void your phone’s warranty in many cases. However, most rootingapplications and methods can be easily reverted. Additionally, if the rooting process doesn’t complete correctly it could damage the software. This would require a factory restore.

Steps to Root Samsung Galaxy S3

Step 1 : Download the required files :-

Click here to download insecure kernel (based on the XX NEE ALE8 firmware) from Chainfire.
Click here to download ODIN 1.85 (a tool to root your Galaxy S III).

Now extract both the .rar files on your Desktop.

Step 2 : Now put your android device in boot mode/ download mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Power / Lock buttons simultaneously, and pressing Volume Up when prompted.

Step 3 : Now you need to run ODIN, connect your device to your PC via USB, and within ODIN, click on PDA and select the .tar file you extracted from the insecure kernel.

Step 7: Click Start and the flashing process will begin.

Step 8: Now you will need to “upgrade,” as it were, from insecure to full root. To do this, you’ll need to boot your Galaxy S III, and enable USB Debugging by browsing to :-

Settings >Applications > Development.

Step 9: Your insecure root allows adb root commands, but won’t enable your apps to getsuperuser access; thus, you’ll need to install SuperSU.

Step 10: Click here to Download the sgs3-root-install.zip file [XDA Developers link], which contains SuperSU v0.89, and extract it.

Step 11: With adb running, double-click the install.bat, and after a reboot, your Samsung Galaxy S III will be fully rooted!

Switchy adds improvements to the iPhone's App Switcher [Cydia Tweak]

Switchy Cydia tweak doubles up the size of the app switcher and adds a lot of useful features. It doubles the size of your switcher, allowing you to see more apps that are running in the background. It also enhances the iPod controls by adding more info for whatever music is playing. They have added a “Settings” page to the switcher that gives you quick access to your Settings app, and has a “Clear Apps” button.

The most obvious change in Switchy is that it makes the app switcher bigger. Not only does it have space for an extra row of tiles, it also brings the page indicator lights to the bar making it two and a half times bigger. Switchy puts all the music controls on one page, and includes a brightness slider as well as a button for clearing apps from the background.

No extra icons are added to springboard and there are no options to configure. Switchy is available in Cydia under the BigBoss repository for $1.00, and warns that it is not compatible with the iPad.

Pod2g Confirms iPhone 4S On iOS 5.1.1 Jailbroken

We’ve got another update on pod2g‘s upcoming jailbreak. Earlier this morning pod2g posted on Twitter that he has confirmed his jailbreak to be working on the iPhone 4S, on iOS 5.1.1. but few minutes ago Pod2g mentioned that the untethered jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 would not support the iPod Touch 3G and iPhone 3GS also he said that the tethered jailbreak would still work for those devices.

Of course that doesn’t rule out all 3GS’ from getting in on the untethery goodness on iOS 5.1.1. If you’re running an iPhone 3GS with the old bootrom, none of this should be a concern for you as your phone can be jailbroken untethered on any firmware.

In addition he posted on his blog post that the Next tests on his list would be iPhone 4S then iPad 2 now he has just confirmed that his untethered jailbreak works perfectly on the iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1. Now the test on iPad 2 remains unchecked, which he will update in a short while.

Download Redsn0w 0.9.11b2 To Downgrade iPhone 4s, iPad 3, 2 from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 5.1/5.0.1/5.0

The day before Redsn0w 0.9.11b1 has been released by the DEV-team and it is specifically meant to downgrade and jailbreak iPhone 4S & iPad 2/3 on iOS 5.0.1. There may be various users who have upgraded to the iOS 5.1.Today iPhone Dev-team has just released Redsn0w 0.9.11 b2 to bring support for “9A406″ version of 5.0.1 for iPhone 4S. In the last release those people were released and now with this new update, they are able to downgrade back to iOS 5.0.1 (9A406) only with SHSH blobs saved.

It is important to consider that the SHSH blobs should be saved y the users. An unfortunate thing is that the users who have their devices stocked along with iOS 5.1 will not be able to downgrade because that does not contain SHSH blobs, which as mentioned, is a condition for it. But the users who have this can install jailbreak with Redsn0w 0.9.11b2 for their iPhone 4S & iPad 2/3 on iOS 5.0.1. You can find this new feature at the extras folder of your mobile. How To Downgrade iPhone 4S & iPad 2/3 on iOS 5.0.1 With Redsn0w 0.9.11b2:

Step 1: Back up your device in iTunes. Download Redsn0w 0.9.11b2 for Windows or MAC OS and run it.

Step 2: Go to Extras.

Step 3: Go to Even More.

Step 4: Click Restore.

Step 5: Now click “Local” to restore to any firmware of which you have SHSH blobs saved.

Step 6: When you click local, Redsn0w will take you to the directory where you have SHSH blobs saved. Once you select it, press “Next” and follow the on screen instructions to put your device into DFU mode.

Step 7: Congratulations! Redsn0w will now downgrade your device to the specified firmware. Once the device boots up, restore it from your saved backup (“Restore from Backup” option) and jailbreak it on that particular firmware.

How To Downgrade iOS 5.1.1 To 5.1, 5.0.1, 5.0 On iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

Apple released the iOS 5.1.1 firmware today featuring bug fixes and small stability improvements while taking HDR photos. Although we warned users to stay away from updating their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to the iOS 5.1.1 firmware, I am sure there are those who accidentally did.

In this how to guide you will learn how to downgrade your A4 iOS device to the iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5.0 firmware from iOS 5.1.1. Before we start however make sure you meet the requirements listed below.

If the device you own is an iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, the iPad 1G, the iPod Touch 4G, the iPod Touch 3G then this guide is for you. This guide is not for those who want to downgrade the iPhone 4S or the iPad 2.
You will need APTicket + saved SHSH blobs for the iOS 5.0.1 or the iOS 5.0 firmware.
iFaith only works with Windows computer running XP/Vista or Win 7.

How To Downgrade iOS 5.1.1 To iOS 5.0.1 Or iOS 5.0:

Step 1: Download the latest iFaith for Windows version from here, official stock iOS 5.0.1 firmware from here, iTunes for Windows and make sure you got your saved SHSH blobs for the firmware you want to downgrade to.

Step 2: Run iFaith and choose Build *signed* IPSW w/Blobs then Build IPSW

Step 3: Click on Browse for SHSH Blobs cache then Browse for the iOS 5.0.1/5.0/5.1 IPSW

Step 4: Now iFaith will be working on customize the firmware of the iOS you’re downgrading to with SHSH blobs.

Step 5: Now choose Use DFU Pwner (iREB) from iFaith.

Step 6: Once it’s finished, Open iTunes and restore your iDevice the new firmware.

That’s it! If you followed the instruction perfectly, you will be now in the older iOS firmware instead being in the latest iOS 5.1.1. Downgrading will be simple if you have saved SHSH blobs of the iOS IPSW.

How To Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 Using Redsn0w 0.9.10b8b

iOS 5.1.1 was just released by Apple and believe it or not has already been jailbroken for some A4 devices. As always it gives some tough time for few developers who keep working on jailbreaking iOS as it release.The latest version of Redsn0w, a jailbreaking tool, has been confirmed to work with iOS 5.1.1 which means that those using an iPhone 4, the original iPad, an iPhone 3GS, and an iPod touch that is of the third or fourth generation.

Unfortunately, those using an iPhone 4S, iPad 2, or iPad third-generation are out of luck at the moment.

It’s a tethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 which means each time your device reboots you’ll need to connect it to a computer and “Just boot” it with RedSn0w to enable the jailbreak features.

How to Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 with RedSn0w:

Step 1) Download Redsn0w 0.9.10b8b [Windows | Mac OS X]

Step 2) Upgrade your device to iOS 5.1.1 either by over-the-air update (Settings > General > Software Update), or by connecting your iDevice to your computer, open iTunes and accepting and installing the update, or download iOS 5.1.1 and manually restore with iTunes.

(Not recommended for UltraSn0w/Gevey SIM unlocker, please create a custom firmware with RedSn0w and continue)

Step 3) Download iOS 5.1 for your device (yes iOS 5.1, NOT 5.1.1)

Step 4) Now launch the Redsn0w and click on “Extras”, then “Select IPSW” and locate iOS 5.1 IPSW file that you just downloaded (iOS 5.1, NOT 5.1.1)

Step 5) Once RedSn0w recognizes the 5.1 IPSW file, go back to the Main screen of RedSn0w and Click “Jailbreak” button

Step 6) Follow the on-screen instruction to put your iPhone, ipad or iPod Touch into DFU Mode

Step 7) As soon as your device enters DFU Mode, RedSn0w will identify the build and load the jailbreak data

Step 8) Select “Install Cydia” from the options and hit Next to begin the jailbreak process. Upon completion your device will reboot. Put your device back into DFU Mode

Step 9) On RedSn0w, go back to the Main screen, hit “Extras” and then “Just Boot“

Step 10) It should tether boot your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and you will have a working Cydia icon on your home screen.

Remember to boot tethered every time you the device turns on and off, that is done by launching Redsn0w, selecting “Extras” and choosing “Just Boot” from the options.

The display of the Samsung Galaxy S III is huge. It’s 4.8 inches in diagonal, bigger than the HTC One X’s 4.7 inches or the Galaxy Nexus’ 4.65 inches.
But while the screen is bigger, the resolution has not gone up: It’s still 1280 pixels by 720 pixels, as with the One X and Galaxy Nexus, making the S III pixel density 306 pixels per inch (ppi), which is still below the iPhone 4S at 326 ppi for its 3.5in screen - which is the leading pixel density in this comparison.

That's double what’s inside the iPhone.
The Galaxy S III will come in 16GB and 32GB versions, with a 64GB model promised. All the other phones in the comparison also come with a minimum of 16GB, but the S III has one advantage over them all - it has a microSD card slot.

Camera:

Samsung didn’t go overboard in the camera department. The 8-megapixel shooter on the S III matches the camera on the iPhone 4S, the One X, and the Lumia 900, and the Samsung phone can shoot 1080p HD video like the iPhone and HTC. The best front camera comes with the Galaxy S III, while the iPhone is at the bottom of the league in this category.

Restore SAM Unlock Activation Ticket To Unlock Your iPhone [Guide]

As of now, using the SAM unlock method was already blocked by the Cupertino servers. Tim Cook and his team immediately patched their activation servers that allowed unlocking iPhones via the SAM method. The Good news is that if you were able to save your activation tickets, then you will be able to unlock your iPhone each time it gets fixed by Apple because your restored for some reason, you will be able to unlock over and over again.

If you’re one of those adopters of SAM unlock method and performed saving of the activation ticket, you can now put those saved files into good use. To unlock your iPhone again, read and follow the step by step procedures listed below. At this point you should know that you can only apply the procedures below on a jailbroken phone. If already restored your phone you should jailbreak it again before proceeding to unlocking it again.

How To Restore your SAM unlock activation ticket to unlock your iPhone:

STEP 1: Insert the SIM card you unlocked it via SAM trick and backed up your activation tickets.

STEP 2: Disable SAM under SAMPrefs.

STEP 3: Email yourself the zip file created when you saved your valid baseband unlock ticket and open the attachment. You will now be prompted to select an application to open the attachment file. Choose iFile (assuming that you have already installed iFile app).

STEP 4: Select the Unarchiver option and tap the Done button after the file is extracted successfully.

STEP 5: Tap the Edit button available at the top right of the screen and select the Lockdown folder that was just extracted.

STEP 6: Tap the Clipboard button situated at the bottom right of the screen and select Copy/Link from the popup menu. Then tap on to the Done button available at the top right of the screen.

STEP 7: Press the back button at the top left of the screen to go to the /var/root/Library folder. Tap the Edit button at the top right of the screen and select the Lockdown folder.

STEP 8: Press the Trash icon at the bottom of the screen and choose Move File to Trash.

STEP 9: Tap the Clipboard icon at the bottom right of the screen and choose Paste

STEP 10: Tap the Done button at the top right of the screen then reboot your iPhone.

STEP 11: After reboot, your iPhone should now be running on an unofficial network.

How To Backup your iPhone’s Unlock Activation Ticket Using SAM

This past weekend the entire jailbreak community was pleasantly surprised by the revelation of a new unlock method for iPhones that works for any baseband and firmware at all, given the iPhone is jailbroken. The process, while long, was not very complicated and allowed the average person to unlock their iPhone within 15 minutes. Which is not bad considering this is a free software unlocking solution. The product of hard work on part of Loktar_Sun that makes use of SAM by Sam Bingner.

All users who were proactive to unlock their iPhone 4 / 4S using Loktar_Sun's SAM tool, backed up their unlock activation tickets can still restore those unlock tickets and unlock their iPhone 4 / 4S. If your iPhone is already unlocked using SAM unlock tool, immediately you must Backup your unlock activation ticket before it can be too late.

How To Backup your iPhone’s Unlock Activation Ticket Using SAM:

Step 1: Launch Cydia.

Step 2: Install iFile (skip this step if you have already installed iFile)

Tap on the Search tab
Search for iFile
Tap on iFile from the search results
Buy iFile as it is a paid jailbreak app
After you have purchased iFile, tap on the Install button in the top right corner.
Then tap on the Confirm button
Tap on the Return to Cydia button when prompted

Note: If you don't want to use iFile, you can always SSH into the folder on your iPhone and copy the contents to your computer.

Step 3: After iFile is successfully installed, press on the Home button and launch iFile from the iPhone's Home screen.

Step 4: You need to navigate to the Library folder:

Tap on /var (top left corner)
Then tap on the root folder from the list
Then tap on the Library folder

Step 5: Here the objective is to create the zip file of the Lockdown folder as it contains the activation ticket:

Tap on the Edit button in the top right corner
Then tap on the Lockdown folder to select it
Then tap on the zip icon (second icon from the left at the bottom)
Here you will be prompted to select the name of the archive
You can either leave it as Lockdown or name the archive and tap on the Create button
iFile will create the archive file in the Library Folder

Step 6: Email the archive file that you have just created to yourself.

Tap on the archive file to select it.
Then tap on the Mail icon (third icon from the right at the bottom)
Enter your email address, the appropriate subject and then tap the Send button.

Note: You should follow these instructions for each SIM that you use with your iPhone using the SAM unlocking trick.

As simple as that. So if you need to use the activation ticket in the future, you know where to find it.

Looks like Apple’s currently fixing their activation servers. But the good news is that previous tickets gotten via SAM trick still work.

For those of you who were lucky enough to unlock your iPhone with SAM when the activation server flaw was still in place you should back up your activation tickets (if you have not already done so). Once you back up your activation tickets you will still be able to unlock your iPhone even if you have to restore it in the future.

How To On Unlocking iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S Using SAM [Video Guide]

We've some great news for users who want to unlock their iPhone. I know that there is a thousands of iPhone users who can’t unlock their devices and go to any carrier they want, so a new Chinese iPhone hacker called Loktar_Sun released a new unlock method which claims that it unlocks iPhone 4/iPhone 4S/ iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS running on any firmwares, so the iPhone Dev Team member MuscleNerd checked out SAM gevey card and really it worked as he was able to unlock his iPhone 4S and go to T-Mobile.

Undoubtedly, it is really good news for the iPhone users who was struggling with a locked iPhone baseband, especially the iPhone 4 “04.11.08” baseband users. The iOS iPhone hacking community is pretty active on the new iPhone 4 / iPhone 4S unlock to exploit, as it allows users to unlock iPhone devices using an existence jailbreak tweak, and allows to spoof the iTunes network completely and make it to think that you are using a legit device, and as well as the exploit work as on iOS 5.1 but tethered only, as the iOS 5.1 is the only tethered jailbreak.

What You Need:

To unlock your iPhone 4S or 4 using the SAM approach, you need to have:
1. A jailbroken iPhone running on iOS 5.0 (or up) with cydia installed.
2. The latest version of iTunes installed on your computer with Internet connection.

How To Unlock Your iPhone 4/4S Using SAM gevey Card:

1. Launch cydia and add the repo (repo.bingner.com) to your Cydia source. Then install SAM and SAMPrefs.

2. After the installation completes, open SAM. Go to Utilities, and tap Deactivate. Your ActivationState under “More Information” should now be “Unactivated”.

3. Go back to the SAM main menu, and tap More Information. Under SIM Details copy your IMSI number.

4. Remove your SIM card and put in the SIM you wish to use (e.g. T-Mobile).

5. With SAM enabled, tap Method, and select By Country and Carrier. Go back a menu, and select the correct country and then the correct carrier for your SIM card.

6. Go back to More Information, and tap Spoof Real SIM to SAM. Under SAM Details, delete the current IMSI number and replace it with the one you copied in step 3.

7. On the SAM main menu go to Utilities, and tap Attempt Activation. Your iPhone should respiring.

8. Open SAM again and disable SAM. Close SAM.

9. Next, launch iTunes and plug in your iPhone to your computer. You should receive a message stating that it failed to activate your device, this is normal, just click ok. Just wait for a moment and you will see the carrier logo for your new SIM.

Now wait for a while until you will find bars signals began to appear on your iPhone. So Congratulations You have done it.

Note: According to the iPhone unlock trick, you can only use the SIM on your iPhone and can switch between the original SIM, which you used at the time of unlock your iPhone. It is an iPhone unlock trick, but still comes with some sort of limitations.
