Undoubtedly, Adamo XPS is one of the coolest laptops that has been created and if Dell designer’s had their way, it would’ve been much, much cooler than the present version. PC World got their mitts on the early prototypes of Adamo XPS that reveals designers’ somewhat crazy and not to forget, expensive ideas.

The prototype above has a 4-inch multi-touch LCD that functions as a trackpad and also as a secondary screen, pretty much like Fujitsu’s Lifebook N7010.

Another prototype created by them did not use the multi-touch LCD but instead integrated a no-moving capacitive keyboard.

Of course, both these features would’ve been nice inclusions but Dell decided against them plainly because Dell thought the 4-inch multi-touch LCD is not price worthy whereas the capacitive keyboard won’t be welcomed by many due to constant fingerprint smudging and lack of a real keyboard feeling.

Take this with a pinch of salt but if couple of BGR sources are to be believed, Apple and AT&T might have something interesting for the consumers this Christmas. According to them, the $99 iPhone 3G will be replaced with an iPhone 3GS bearing the same 8GB capacity. The reasoning sounds a bit way off but is said that the price cut is done to combat DROID.

Michael Arrington’s CrunchPad gave hopes for a decent looking (and functioning) tablet on the cheap but according to Silicon Alley Insider that hope looks quite bleak. They’ve heard from several sources that CrunchPad is delayed or dead due to increasing expenses.

CrunchPad was first supposed to hit the retail shelves in mid-2009 but with the unexpected high cost quoted by suppliers, the device was delayed, the report claimed.

In a more wildly claim, SAI thinks the delay is due to Chrome OS, which will be power the CrunchPad.

It was claimed that the 10.6.2 Snow Leopard update would not support Atom processors, effectively killing the hackintosh scene. Now the word is that the latest seed of the update brings back the Atom support.

The developer seed 10C535 has enabled Atom support and with that the possibility of installing Mac OS X on netbooks. However, despite the glimmer of hope, it’s still not known if Apple will let the Atom support remain in the final release.

Android and Snapdragon combo seems to have hit the right chord with handset manufacturers. We’ve seen couple of companies adopt it and now here’s a confirmation from LG about the same. LG is developing a handset that will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset and run Android OS. Other details are next to none but the phone will first be launched in South Korea in the second quarter of next year.

LG’s first Android attempt is a QWERTY slider GW620 also known as Etna.

After a series of teasers Dell has come clean with its super sleek and sexy Adamo XPS notebook. The 13.4-inch notebook is indeed a testament of craftsmanship and engineering excellence, which packs decent specs in just 9.9mm shell. The laptop’s specs include Windows 7 OS, 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ULV CPU, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Wi-Fi, 2 USB ports, GPS and Ethernet port that can be used by the included dongle.

Adamo XPS boasts few innovations on the engineering front. As known before, it has a capacitive strip that unlocks the screen when swiped with a finger and also features an elevated keyboard that claims to enhance cooling.

Its priced at $1799 and will be available in time for holidays.

Toshiba has pipped the competition by announcing the industry’s largest capacity 1.8-inch hard drive. The MK3233GSG that already has HDDs in capacities of 160GB and 250GB will also have a 320GB one, targeted at thin mobile devices and external HDDs. The drives feature an industry highest areal density of 801Mbit/mm2 and supports SATA interface with a rotational speed of 5,400RPM and 16MB buffer.

Toshiba will start mass producing the drives in December.

Motorola DROID will be accompanied by another DROID tomorrow. The DROID family has got an addition and its not from Motorola but from HTC. The DROID ERIS is Verizon’s version of Hero and for a cheap $100 (after $100 mail-in rebate), user will get a decently packed phone.

The phone is equipped with Sense UI, 3.2-inch capacitive display, 5MP camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, digital compass, full HTML browser with Flash Lite, pre-installed 8GB microSD card (expandable up to 16GB) and 3.5mm connectivity.

More images of Kurara have slipped out showing the phone from different angles. New details are still under wraps but one thing that is found missing from the last leak is the HD inscription, which hints that the previous image might have been a nice photoshop effort or the phone which we’re currently looking is a very early prototype. Few features rumored are 3.5-inch AMOLED display, 8.1MP auto focus camera and runs Symbian S60 OS.

So shooting a gadget at a stationary object just for the heck of it seems to be the new rage. We’ve seen Sony attempting their PS3 crash into a Bravia and now a French gaming mag has attempted to shoot Nintendo DS through a wall. Agreed a video of DS crashing into the wall would’ve been sweet but alas, all we have is this image (although a good one).
