UPDATE: The screens are fake.

Google’s announcement of Chrome OS was shrouded in mystery with a lot of questions left to be answered. Good thing is that they have stepped forward by answering few questions but I reckon these are still not enough so as what to expect from the OS. The early adopters that are testing the OS secretly in their labs are Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.

On another note, if you’ve been itching to see what the OS looks like, this hurriedly created blog has managed to snag a few (or at least what it claims). The leaker says he got it from an Acer event where the Google devs were demoing the OS.

You’ve already seen a blurry image, seen it surviving in unusual tests and now it’s time to reveal its real identity. The 3720 Classic, Nokia’s first IP-54 certified mobile that is water, dust and shock resistant. Nokia does not say how much can the phone can endure but assures that it is a perfect companion when you’re out in wet, dusty or muddy environment.

The Nokia 3720 is sealed, leak-proof and even its battery cover is locked with a screw to give the added protection. Regarding the normal phone features, it has a LED flashlight, 2.2-inch display and Nokia Maps loaded on a 1GB microSD card.

Expect it to hit soon for a price of 125 Euros before tax and subsidies.

It’s been a while since Motorola announced a good looking phone and now when they have, it will be apparently restricted to the Korean shores only. Motorola’s ROKR series got a new addition in the form of ZN50 that not only brings some looks but also features.

It’s a slider phone featuring a full touchscreen display on the front while the slider revealing its alphanumeric keypad. The 3.2-inch touchscreen display takes benefit of Motorola’s Panorama user interface that supports up to three homescreens and can be modified as per user’s preference of widgets and shortcuts.

Other features include tri-band GSM, HSDPA, 3.2MP camera, SRS WOW HD audio, T-DMB, GPS, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card slot for up to 16GB.

No word on the price.

Amazon has lowered the price of its smaller version of Kindle. The 6-inch e-book reader that was previously selling at $359 will now sell for $299. The unexpected price cut is attributed to the competitors who are selling their respective e-book readers for less than the $300.

The Kindle 2 was launched early this year and boasts features like a 6-inch e-paper display, 2GB internal memory, WhisperSync, integrated dictionary and text-to-speech function.

The rumored 40nm based GeForce GPUs for Desktops have popped up on Nvidia’s website. The budget offerings – GeForce GT220 and GeForce G210 are tagged as OEM products, which means we could see them being preinstalled with branded PC manufacturers.

The GeForce G210 boasts a graphics clock speed of 589MHz, processor at 1402MHz, 16 stream processors, 512MB DDR2 memory supporting 64-bit interface. On the other hand, GT220 brings in a faster graphics clock speed of 615MHz, processor at 1335MHz,1GB DDR3 with 128-bit interface support.

Both the cards support CUDA, PhysX, DirectX 10.1, OpenGL 3.0, DVI, PCI-E 2.0 and HDMI (GT220) or DisplayPort (G210).

Samsung has announced a new hard drive to cater to the 1.8-inch external HDD market. The Spinpoint N3U comes in capacities of up to 250GB and instead of adding a bridge circuit board to convert the PATA interface to USB, the new drives integrate the USB controller right on its printed circuit board.

With no conversion of interface, the N3U drives consume less power, give better performance and also reduce the chances of failure due to loose cable connections.

The Spinpoint N3U drives come in storage options of 120-, 160-, 200- and 250-GB, supports USB 2.0 interface, 3600RPM, 8MB cache memory and can withstand drops up to 50cm and shock incident up to 1500G.

The drives will start shipping to OEMs from mid-July for around $199.

It was last week when some eagle eyed user scrutinized the Windows 7 Home Premium agreement to find mentions of a Family Pack. Now, it seems we’ve got the price of it as well, courtesy few e-tailers. Apparently, the Home Premium Family Pack goes by the product code “GFC-00236” and on searching yields fruitful results, some with the help of Google Cache and some directly.

One of the e-tailer, ExperCom still has the Family Pack page live and lists it at a price of $136.95 plus shipping. Others that were recovered via Google Cache were CompSource that listed it for $147 while University IT Computer Sales listed it for $144.95.

If that is not enough, ExperCom has even listed Anytime Upgrade prices of few SKUs of Windows 7.

Of course, these prices are unconfirmed for now but looks highly plausible considering many e-tailers pricing it around the same range. We’re not sure but we can expect Microsoft to announce these prices after its pre-order gets over on July 11.

French netbook site, Blogeee is among the few lucky ones to get their hands on Asus’ Eee Keyboard, which won’t be in the retail market before August. However, instead of ogling this PC in a keyboard, they stripped it to reveal the innards that run this marvelous piece of technology.

The Eee Keyboard has a specially designed circuit board that integrates lots of components. For starters and to the dislike of many, Asus has soldered the RAM. It also uses a lot of tapes to keep everything intact. There’s N280 processor, 16GB SSD, chipset amongst other things like a 40mm cooling fan, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HDMI transmitter. The keyboard also has a 1,880mAh battery that promises to give about 100 mins of runtime.

The new ad shows Matt and Olivia try to find a perfect laptop that has a large screen, battery life and ability to share pictures under $700.
