CTRL + A to select all the text in your document.
CTRL + SHIFT + F9 and Vola! All hyperlinks are removed.

Another way to remove hyperlinks, paste the copied text into Notepad first, recopy and then paste into word file.

It's easy to copy and convert your movies to
any format for steaming, watching on the go, or maintaining an archival
backup for your movie collection. We will show you how.

We've become so
accustomed to be easy and convenience of iTunes and
blink-and-you-miss-em CD rips that we forget how it in mid-1990s,
ripping a CD was a time-consuming process fraught with peril. Shoot,
ripping a single disc to a 128kps MP3 could take eight hours on a
200MHz Pentium! Fast forward a decade and faster hardware and better
software have made CD ripping so mainsteam your mom does it.

Now
ripping DVDs is our great challenge. Copying and transcoding the disc's
video into more efficient formats involves math an order of magnitude
scarier than what's required to rip audio CDs. A machine that will rip
the latest Miley Cyrus CD in mere moments could take hours to extract
and convert your copy of Alien vs. Predator to an iPod-friendly format.
But with the right software, a quad-core-equipped PC, and a little
knowhow, you can cut your disc-rip time from hours to 30 minutes.
Plenty of tricks and traps still await first-time rippers, but we'll
show you the basics and then walk you through some of the most valuable
power-user ripping secrets.

Your
first decision is simple. What player are you ripping your disc for?
Are you ripping for a portable player, like the PSP or iPhone? Would
you rather stream to a device in your living room, like Xbox 360, PS3,
or Popcorn Hour? Or are you simply interested in making
archival-quality DVD rips in case you lose your collection? More
likely, you are looking for a combination of all these of these things.
We'll show you how to rip your DVD to a file suitable for streaming
that consumes a fraction of the disk space of a DVD but maintains full
video whatever other devices you might have, like a PSP or an iPod.

With the preliminaries out of the way, let's get started.

Ripping your DVDs

With
the right software, hardware, and understanding of the issues, you can
free video from movies disc to be used any way you choose.

Compatibility issues

Several
factors determine the compatibility of your ripped video files. The
resolution of the video, the size of the resulting file, the video and
audio codes, the container format used, and even more esoteric things
like frame rate can affect whether your video will work on your device
of choice. The Xbox and PS3, for instance, support a maximum MP4 file
size of 4GB. If you want to srteam a file larger than that, you'll need
to use a .ts container for the PS3 and WMV-HD the Xbox.

If
you just rip discs as you need the content and then delete files
afterward, simply rip to your target of choice. Howerer, if you want to
build an archive of ripped movies, we recommend that you use open,
widely supported codes and containers at the native resolution of the
DVD and then transcode the files to lower resolutions and bitrates as
you need them. Naturally, we will show you how to do this.

Your
player selection also impacts your choices when it comes to audio
tracks and subtitle support. While the most common container formats,
MP4 and MKV, support multiple track and subtitle stream in one file,
few players will work with multiple audio tracks, and an even smaller
subset will work with subtitles. That means you need to rip a single
audio track-typically the mail movie's English soundtrack-and burn the
subtitles into the video, rather than leave them as separate streams
inside the container.

We recommend
convert dvd to the MP4 container: it's widely supported on both
streaming devices and portables. Furthermore, the tools for
manipulating the streams within the file are established to transcode
your video to a less-supported format for a specific player.

A word about subtitles

Typically,
DVDs include multiple subtitle streams that serve different purposes.
Nearly, every DVD has some English subtitles, even non-foreign-language
movies. Most also include subtitles. Subtitles are simply the dialogue
from the movie written across bottom of the screen. Closed captions
include subtitles, but they also include audio cues that help people
with impaired hearing enjoy the movie fully.

Often
English-language movies use forced subtitles to show what a character
speaking a foreign language is saying. On some discs, these subtitles
will be hidden in a separate stream, while in others, they'll be mixed
in with the subtitles but marked so that the DVD Player only shows the
proper captions. Regardless, it's crucial that you get the proper
subtitles for all the films you rip. Otherwise, you'll never know what
Jabba or Greedo are saying in Star Wars.

In
practice, the first English subtitle track is typically the one that
includes subtitles, forced or otherwise, while the second subtitle
track is the one that includes closed captions.

Bypassing copy protection

The
first thing you will need to do when ripping a movie DVD is remove the
copy protection. Most discs use a variant of the Content Scrambling
System(CSS), but many also use other techniques. Although some
DVD-ripping apps, like autoMKV, can bypass copy protection, they are
not updated as frequently and aren't always successful at defeating new
copy protection schemes. The latest version of Handbrake won't do
anything at all about copy protection. Your best choice , therefore, is
to top one of the utilities that are dedicated to the task, such as
Daniusoft DVD Ripper or DVD3.

Daniusoft
DVD ripper justifies its high price by bypassing new forms of
encryption almost immediately after they appear. Both apps serve as
on-the-fly disc decrypters, stripping copy protection before your
ripping or playback software recognizes the disc. Want o rip an
encrypted disc to your hard drive? It is as easy as coping contents of
the disc's VIDEO_TS files to your hard drive one you installed
Daniusoft DVD Ripper or DVD43. Regardless, before we continue, you
should install one of the apps. Daniusoft dvd ripper is a shareware,
while DVD43 is always free.

Ripping your first Disc

For
simple, high-quality rips of any kind of content for any type of
device, it's tough to beat HandBrake. We like HandBrake for a few
reasons: Its built-in presets make it very easy for anyone to use, it
does a good job of detecting the proper video, audio, and the subtitle
selections, and it has never failed us.

To
rip your first disc, drop it in your DVD drive and click the Source
button in the top-left conver of the HandBrake window. Unless you have
multiple optical drives, the disc in your DVD drive should be one of
the listed Source options. If it's not, select the folder option and
navigate to your optical drive. Handbrake will take a minute or two to
scan the contents of your disc and will do its best to determine the
appropriate titles and chapters on the disc. HandBrake is generally
spot-on for movie DVDs, although you'll probably need to manually
select the proper chapters and titles for discs that contain TV shows.

After
Handbrake has familiarized itself with your disc, you will need to
select the proper output preset. For steaming to or playbackon most
Apple devices, the Apple Universal preset is terrific. It looks great
and works well on the iPhone, newer iPod Classics, and the AppleTV. For
steaming DVD to mpeg, dvd to quicktime, dvd to wmv, dvd to the PS3, Xbox360, or pretty much anything else, we
typically recommend a modified PS3 preset. The PS3 preset uses the
H.264 video codec in an MP4 container to encode your disc's video at
its native resolution using a variable bitrate that's also compatible
with the Xbox 360. It automatically downmixes your disc 5.1 audio to
2.0 Dolby proLogicII stream. Load the defaut PS3 preset and then enable
both the two-pass encode and the turbo first-pass options. Both the
Apple Universal and the modified PS3 preset are appropriate for
archival puposes.

Next flip to the
Audio & Subtitles tab and ensure that the proper subtitle and audio
selections are checked. If the movie includes some subtitles, you
should select the first English subtitle track and check the Forced
Subtitles Only box. Don't worry, if the disc is mastered properly and
doesn't have subtitles, it won't affect your rip at all. Once you are
happy with your setting, you can press the +button in the preset window
to save your profile(we recommend giving it a different default name
than the others). Unfortunately, caption settings aren't saved in
presets, so you have no manually set them each time you rip another
disc.

Before you can start the
encode, you need to tell HandBrake where to save the finished rip and
what to call it. You can save the resulting file anywhere on your hard
drive. Once you've done that, press the Start button to begin the
encode.Depending on the number of cores you have and the speed of your
processor, encoding can take anywhere from 40 minutes to several hours.

Does Your Computer Show Low Disk Space On Drive C? Slove it??

This tip is useful for those who have pantium 3 or early pantium 4
computers with low capacity hard disks. If your computer shows low disk
space message balloon on c drive then you can solve this problem by
doing the following steps
1. Disable Hibernation on your Windows
How
to check Hibernate whether it is enabled or disbaled?

(i) Click
on START button on screen
(ii) Click on Turn Off Computer
(iii)
Keep pressing SHIFT Button
(iv) and See does STANDBY Button changes
to Hibernate? If yes then Its enabled!
Remember that if Hibernation
is On, It takes about 512 MB at least.
How to Disable Hibernation?

(I)
Go to Control Panel
(II) Click on power Option
(III) Click on
Hibernate Tab
(IV) Uncheck the ENABLE HIBERNATION and click OK

2.
Disable System Restore
(i) go to CONTROL PANEL
(ii) Click on
SYSTEM
(iii) Click on SYSTEM RESTORE tab
(iv) Just uncheck the
box TURN OFF SYSTEM RESTORE ON ALL DRIVES
(v) Click on the C drive in
the list and then click on the Settings button
you can reduce the
space allocated for system restore by sliding the slider to the left and
click OK.

3. Delete old temp files in Local SettingsTemp
(I)
go to the folder C:Documents and Settings
(II) Double click on
your USERNAME ACCOUNT
(III) Double Click on Local Setting folder
(IV)
Double click on TEMP folder and delete all files in TEMP folder

4.
Lower temp files in IE
(i) Open your Internet Explorer..Go to Tools
and click on Internet Options
(ii) On the General tab, click the
Settings button under the Browsing History section
(iii) Adjust the
Disk space to use amount to something lower. The recommended values are
between 50 to 250MB.

5. Disk Cleanup
(i) Open up My Computer
(ii)
Right click on the drive that you want to free up space
(iii)
Select Properties. Click on the Disk cleanup button

6. Moving
paging file from C to other drives
Page file is the space of the hard
disk which is used as Virtual Ram. It is good to shift the page file on
any other drive.
(i) Right click on My Computer and select
PROPERTIES
(ii) Select the ADVANCED tab and click on the SETTINGS
button under the PERFORMANCE AREA
(iii) Select the ADVANCED tab and
click on the CHANGE button
(iv) Copy the same settings on any other
drive without C
(v) Click the Set button.
(vi) select the C drive
and click on the No paging file radio button..
(vii) Click the Set
button. Apply the changes by clicking the OK button on all opened
windows

Cleaning Up Unwanted Startup Programs

Many freeware and commercial software programs have a habit of setting
themselves up to run automatically upon Windows startup. This can
contribute to the gradual decline in startup speed that most Windows XP
systems (and windows PCs in general) experience. Also, having programs
that you only use selectively, or not at all, load automatically is a
waste of system resources that could be better used for other things.

To top it off, many internet nasties such as spyware programs, viruses
and Trojan horses will install themselves into one of the automatic
start locations on your system in order to make sure that they are run
on startup. So the point is, take a look at what is currently running
every time you load your PC, and disable what you don't need or can't
identify.

To do this: The first place you should go is 'startprogramsstartup'
which is a directory Windows XP uses to launch application shortcuts on
boot-up.

If you remove the shortcuts from this directory, the applications will
not load on startup. This directory can also be a repository for
various badness such as spyware and virus software, so if there are
files here which are not shortcuts and you don't recognize them, you
may wish to consider removing them anyways, as Windows will not place
critical files in this directory.

The next location for removing unnecessary startup files is the handy
MSCONFIG utility that has been resurrected from the graveyard of
Windows 9x especially for XP.

Go to 'startrun' and type 'msconfig' to access the utility.

The 'startup' tab in MSCONFIG provides access to several other
applications that are started at boot up and are running in the
background. By examining their Filenames and directories, you should be
able to get a feeling for what is necessary and what is not. Be aware
than several viruses and worms have a habit of disguising themselves
with authoritative sounding Windows system file names.

The other method for removing these programs is through the programs
themselves, as many applications, for example MSN messenger, contain
the option to remove the software from startup.

Shutdown XP Faster

Like previous versions of windows, it takes long time to restart or
shutdown windows XP when the "Exit Windows" sound is enabled. To solve
this problem you must disable this useless sound.

Click Start button.

Go to settings > Control Panel > Sound, Speech and Audio devices > Sounds and Audio Devices > Sounds.

Then under program events and windows menu click on "Exit Windows"
sub-menu and highlight it. Now from sounds you can select, choose
"none" and then click Apply and OK.

Now you should see some improvements when shutting down your system.

There are some maintenance tips to help you get the best out of your mobile phone. All of the points below should also apply to your battery, charger and any other accessories.

Keep Your Mobile:

Charged: Ensure your battery is fully charged, and then completely run it down before recharging. Recharging too early causes your battery to run out of power more quickly.

Secure: For security reasons, enable the PIN on your SIM Card and Phone-lock on your phone to avoid unauthorized used. These security checks will also be activated when the phone is power cycled. Protected: Make sure you use a keypad lock to lock your phone. Unplanned calls can cost a fortune and even though your phone may be in a safe place, such as in a bag, your phone will still get knocked around to a surprising degree. Rough treatment can damage electronic circuit boards so avoid dropping or unnecessarily shaking your phone.

Battery: Be safe with your batteries. Use only genuine batteries from your phone manufacturer and only buy from authorized dealers. Going for the cheap option of a counterfeit battery can be dangerous.

Clean: Don’t use harsh detergents, cleaning solvents or harsh chemicals to clean your phone. Wipe only with a soft cloth.

Install the skins:

Repair Windows Xp When It Goes Down Or Corrupted

This option lets you completely andnondestructively rebuild, repair, or refre$h an existing XP
installation while leaving already-installed software alone (no
reinstallation needed!).

It also leaves user accounts, names, and passwords untouched and takes
only a fraction of the time a full, from-scratch reinstall does.

And unlike a traditional full reinstall, this option doesn't leave you with two copies of XP on your hard drive.

Instead, you end up with just the original installation, but repaired, refreshed, and ready to go.

When you're facing the prospects of a total reformat/reinstall, stop!

Try the no-reformat reinstall technique i'm about to illustrate, and
you just may get your XP setup running again in no time.

The no-reformat reinstall operation starts with a normal boot from an XP setup CD

Start your PC with the setup CD in a drive, and hit a key when you see the following screen:

Boot from your XP setup CD to gain access to the no-reformat reinstall option.

If instead of booting to the CD your PC boots from the hard drive, you may need to modify your PC's "boot order."

It's easy and only takes a minute to make the change so that the PC
will check for a bootable CD before trying to boot from the hard drive.

Once your PC starts to boot from the CD, you'll see something like what's shown in Screen 2:

Let the CD boot proceed normally and automatically through "Setup is
inspecting your computer's hardware..." to the "Windows Setup" screen.

After a minute or two, you'll see the "Windows Setup/Setup is starting Windows" screen, shown in Screen Three.

Don't be alarmed:

It's still just the setup process running, and nothing's been changed on your PC yet.

The "Starting Windows" screen is a bit of an overstatement; it's just the setup process getting going.

Windows, as we normally think of it, isn't running yet, and no changes have been made to your PC.

Soon after Screen Three, you'll be presented with the normal "Welcome to Setup" screen, as shown in Screen Four.

The "Welcome to Setup" screen is poorly worded; the "Repair" option we want isn't the one explicitly offered here.

In fact, the repair option we want isn't shown at all.

See the text for full detail.

The poorly worded options in Screen Four lead many users astray.

The only mention of "Repair" here is "...repair a Windows XP
installation using Recovery Console..." but that's not the no-reformat
repair/reinstall we're seeking. (The Recovery Console Repair option is
useful in its own right for fixing relatively minor problems with the
operating system, and we fully explore it in the links listed above.)

The repair option we do want--a nondestructive, no-reformat
reinstall--is actually hidden beneath the Setup option, "To set up
Windows XP now, press ENTER."

So hit Enter, just as if you were setting up Windows afresh and from scratch.

The next screen, about licensing, gives no reassurances that you're on
the right path for a nondestructive repair/reinstall--in fact, it's the
same screen you see when you're setting XP up on a virgin hard drive.

But this is only the first of many screens that the Repair option will borrow from a full-blown setup.

Press F8 to accept the licensing terms and to go on.

Next, the XP setup process will show another screen that you may recall
from your initial setup of XP. It searches for "a previous version of
Microsoft Windows."

In our case, we're not replacing a previous version of Windows, but
rather repairing the very same version that's on the setup CD--but
that's OK; it's just another poorly worded screen.

Our intent is to repair the same version of Windows as is on the setup
CD, but another poorly worded screen makes it seem like you're
upgrading a previous version of Windows or installing one anew.

But don't let the bad wording alarm you; we're still on track for a nondestructive reinstall.

Screen Seven finally shows verbiage that's not recycled from the generic XP setup, but is specific to our Repair task.

Setup should find your damaged copy of XP and present it for repair, as shown:

At long last, Setup begins to refer to a Repair option. Here, Setup
should have found your damaged XP setup, which you can select and then
press R to start the nondestructive repair.

If your damaged copy of XP isn't highlighted in the list box, highlight
it now. When it's selected, press R to start the repair process.

The Repair process then selectively deletes system files in the
Windows folder and subfolders and copies undamaged replacement files
from the setup CD to their proper locations.

The Repair process then works on the current setup's Registry, leaving much of it intact and rebuilding the rest.

There's no fanfare, but this is one of the nicer parts of the Repair
process: Setup retains what it can in the current Registry so that
already-installed hardware and software will remain installed.

With the system files freshly copied and the Registry ready for rebuilding, the system needs to reboot.

Remove the CD from the drive so that the PC will boot to the hard drive instead of to the CD.

The first Repair reboot will take longer than normal.

Don't be alarmed. Also, don't be alarmed when Setup resumes.

Once again, it will appear that you're performing a full, from-scratch
setup; there's nothing on-screen to indicate that you're repairing an
existing version of XP.

But although the setup screens are the same as what you'd see in a full
install, it's still a repair process, as will become clearer in a
moment.

The first two of the Repair setup screens ask for your language preferences and product key.

Enter these normally.

When Setup resumes, it will appear that you're performing a full, from-scratch setup.

But don't worry--you're still indeed repairing your existing version of XP.

Many of the next few Repair screens will also be familiar.

The "installing devices" screen, for example, is identical to the one you normally see during a full, from-scratch setup.

But Repair is actually retaining much of the current setup's
configuration and so will move through these steps faster than in a
full setup.

The Repair version of the setup process skips or shortens many steps
because it already has the information it needs from the existing setup.

For example, Repair's "installing devices" and the network setup steps
are both much faster and require less user input than a new setup does.

The setup screens don't reflect the fact that a Repair proceeds much
faster than a normal, full setup. In fact, the time estimates in the
setup progress bar will be way off.

You'll be done in far less time than the progress bar predicts.

Just as with "installing devices," the network setup proceeds rapidly
because Setup can re-use many of the configuration details from the
current installation.

In fact, a Repair setup takes far less time than the installation progress bar indicates.

When this portion of the Repair is done, you'll see a "completing installation" screen:

The "completing installation" screen means most of the heavy lifting is
done, and you're just minutes away from finishing the repair operation.

Setup then reboots your PC again, and this reboot will also take longer than usual. This is normal.

With the bulk of the repair work done, your PC needs to reboot once more and will do so automatically.

The reboot will take a bit longer than a standard boot, but this is normal.

After the reboot, you'll be brought to an abbreviated version of the "Welcome To Windows" setup pages.

You'll be asked if you want to register and--depending on how badly
hosed the previous installation was--you may or may not be asked to
reactivate the copy of Windows.

Next, the setup software handles the final networking details and then offers a "thank you" screen.

In most cases, the system will now reboot for a final time.

The Repair is done. It's a normal boot, bringing you to the normal choices for login.

With a final, fully normal reboot, you're done.

Your copy of XP should be as good as new, but with all your previously
installed hardware, software, and user configuration data undamaged!

If all has gone as planned, you'll find all the user accounts and
passwords intact, all the hardware devices set up as before, and all
the previously installed software still installed and configured.

In fact, if all has gone as planned, the only significant change will
be that whatever problem your copy of XP was previously experiencing
will now be gone!

You now have a range of repair tools at your disposal, ranging from
simple on-the-fly fixes such as Registry cleaning and safe Mode fixes
to Recovery Console fixes, and, now, a nondestructive, no-reformat
repair/rebuild option.

With this information, you should almost never have to face a dreaded start-over-from-scratch reformat/reinstall of XP!

The above screenshot is the Windows 7 taskbar after changing back to XP/Vista mode, and adding the quick launch bar back. Looks just like Vista doesn’t it?

Right-click the taskbar, choose Toolbars / New Toolbar

In the folder selection dialog, enter the following string and hit OK:
%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Turn off the "lock the taskbar" setting, and right-click on the divider. Make sure that "Show text" and "Show title" are disabled and the view is set to "small icons".

Use the dividers to rearrange the toolbar ordering to choice, and then lock the taskbar again.

I thought of sharing the solution with all you people as many of you might be facing the same problem. Here is the procedure to change the size of any drive on your PC.

Go to Start-> Run. Type Diskmgmt.msc and hit Enter.
Now right click on the partition you want to resize. Select Expand if you want to increase the drive size or Shrink if you want to reduce the drive size,
Enter the amount of size by which you want to expand or shrink the drive. Your Windows will immediately resize the partition for you.

Change Precision:
