Facebook is rolling out a new Beautiful View of Photos

On July 30, 2012 Facebook announce a new beautiful view of photos. Facebook is trying to make its photo service more pretty and enjoyable. Gmail free sms service worldwide

Gmail few days backs rolls out a new feature of sending free sms to anyone worldwide from Gmail dashboard. Gmail will give 50 sms credits daily to a user 1 = 1 sms it means you can send 50 free sms, a user will get 5 more credits when someone will reply the the sms which is also limited to 50 credits a day.

Also, Gmail team added if a user is sending excessive Gmail SMS message to a user without getting any reply, they will block the sending SMS to that number to prevent spam. Though, I’m not sure about the number of SMS they allow before blocking sending SMS.

Microsoft launches Outlook.com upgrade of Hotmail

On 31 july 2012 Microsoft a big software company upgraded its 16 years old free email service Hotmail to Outlook.com, a much cleaner & better email interface like our favorite Gmail. You can login to Outlook.com with your previous Windows live or Hotmail email address. You will continue receiving emails from your previous email address but, in new interface. You can also choose new email address with outlook.com.

Enable Network Pipelining

Naturally, the browsers are very gracious. They send a request to the servers and then wait for the response to continue. Network pipelining is an adamant method that allows Firefox to send several requests to reduce the page loading time & will make firefox faster.

Go through the following steps to enable Network Pipelining

• Type “about: config” in the browser’s address box and hit Enter.
• Find “network.http.pipelining” click twice on it, in order to change the option to ‘True’.
• Do same with “network.http.proxy.pipelining”
• Find and click twice on “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” and change its value to 8 (The default value would be 4).

Remember that, not every server supports pipelining. So, it can eventually diminish the performance of the browser. Simply, set the “network.http.proxy.pipelining” and “network.http.pipelining” to ‘False’ in case of any problem.

Tweak for Faster Loading

• Go to “about:config” page
• Right click and select New, then Integer.
• Type in “browser.cache.memory.capacity” and click on OK button.
• Type ‘65536’ in the next box and OK.

Now, restart Firefox and get bigger cache memory.

Here are some of the ways, which can help you to speed up boot process of your computer. This will increase the speed of the computer and its booting will be quicker than before. These ways are quite simple.

Boot-Scan your PC

Sometimes your antivirus fails to detect a virus/malware during virus scan so, it is advisable to Boot-Scan your PC regularly.  a Boot-Scan will work magically to speed it up. Its my personal experience every-time i Boot-Scan my PC it increase my PC’s overall performance & makes my PC virus free.

Enable Quick Boot from BIOS

When you first set up your computer, BIOS is set up. This is done to make things convenient for you. However, those things can be immobilized once you set up.

This setting of Quick Boot will turn off the tests that your computer runs when turned on. The boot priority tweak will direct your computer not to go through thumb drives, CDs, floppy disks or any other media when it first starts. All this will help you to boot into your OS quicker.

Remove unnecessary fonts

Every font, which is installed on your computer loads whenever you start your windows. Obviously, more the number of fonts slower will be the speed at which windows will load. It is advisable to keep the font list closer to 300-400 although you can safely load 1000 fonts. Be careful while deleting any fonts unless you are very sure that they are not needed. Fonts such as Arial, Verdana, Times New Roman, Tahoma and Courier New should not be anyway deleted.

Use a static IP

Give your computer a static IP address. It always remains the same and never changes. To know your static IP, you can contact your ISP. Static IP can save a lot of time when you up your computer.

Filter Programs that run at startup

You can speed up the booting process by deleting the unnecessary programs that launch and run at startup. These programs degrade the booting performance. You can immobilize the applications that are needed by you at startup.  It is advisable to disable most of such applications except the antivirus program.

Disable unused Hardware

Booting of your computer can be boosted by disabling the unused hardware such as floppy drives, bluetooth devices etc. It is so because when your computer starts a lot of hardware drivers are loaded. This consumes quite a bit of time, which can be reduced by disabling such drivers. Simply go to device manager and right click on the device you want to disable. It will also speed up PC.

Upgrade your RAM

A superior RAM can help you to boot your PC fast. It is an effective way to increase the speed of your computer. Also, you can make use of a separate graphics memory. It will also help you to speed up PC.

Updated Antivirus

So, these are some tricks to recover your memory card’s password.

If you have a Nokia s60 1st & 2nd edition phone you can find your memory card’s forgotten password by following these steps:

1. Download  and Install FExplorer.
2. Insert card into your s60 1st or 2nd edition phone but don’t access it through phone.
3. Run FExplorer and Open the path C:\system.
4. You will  find there a file named mmcstore , move this file to other location of your phone, rename the filemmcstore.txt
5. Open the file in your phone or Copy that file(mmcstore.txt) to your pc and open that file in notepad.
6. You will find your password in that file.
7. By this way, you can unlock memory card and recover your memory card’s password.

Unlock Memory Card in Nokia s60 3rd edition:

While searching, I haven’t found any way to find password of Nokia s60 3rd edition phones. But in some s60 3rd edition phones & almost all E-series phones you can unlock your memory card by remote lock option. Follow these steps:-

1. Activate remote lock option by going to Tools ↪ Settings ↪ Security ↪ Phone and SIM ↪ Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message.
2. Send an sms containing your remote lock message that will automatically change your memory card password.

Unlock memory card in Nokia s40 edition phones:

The only option to recover your locked memory card in Nokia s40 edition phones is formatting it with an s60.

1. Insert your locked memory card in an Nokia s60 edition phone.
2. Open the memory card options. You will see an option of format, select the format option. After formatting, you can at-least recover your memory card to reuse.

Some other tricks to unlock memory card:

• Try to explore your memory card in Linux OS. For a start you can download ubuntu or some other Linux distros which can be run in a USB drive. List of Linux OS can be run in a USB drive.
• Go to a mobile repair shop and get your memory card unlocked. They will charge you almost 50 bucks. They will put your memory card in a Memory Card Adapter and unlock it.
• Or buy your own Memory Card Adapter. Memory Card Adapters are available in the market. It will cost you around 2000 to 3000 INR.

In Windows when Windows Start up it load the hosts file in to cache memory, then Windows checks the Hosts file before it queries any DNS servers, which enables it to override addresses in the DNS and by redirecting any IP or hostname to local IP(127.0.0.1) we can block any website or server to load.

By this way, you can block websites ads, banners, 3rd party Cookies, 3rd party page counters, web bugs, and even most hijackers. It is also very useful trick when you want to block some websites in your home PC to protect your kids from porn or other inappropriate websites.

For Example:

Adding entry 127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net in hosts site will block ads from ad server Doubleclick.net,

adding entry 127.0.0.1 facebook.com will block Fcebook.com on all browsers in a system.

You can use this pre-configured hosts file containing all major ad-servers & suspicious websites [Link to the file]. Download this file by clicking & selecting Save As & Replace with your system’s hosts file.

Step by step tutorial of Blocking a website with hosts file in Windows:

1. Go to Start Menu and click on Run, Paste %systemdrive%/windows/system32/drivers/etc and hit Enter.
2. Now in  folder you will see some files as shown in image below, Copy hosts file and Paste on desktop.
3. Now, Open pasted hosts file on desktop with Notepad.
4. Add 127.0.0.1<space>hostname or IP of the website you want to block eg.facebook.com, see image below for more info. or Download this pre-configures hosts file, Copy the content from downloaded file & Paste it in pasted file on desktop.
5. Now, Click on Save in file menu(not Save as), Now Replace the edited file with the original one in %systemdrive%/windows/system32/drivers/etc.

It is a convenient option if some day, you stucked into error screen because of your default Operating System failure & you urgently need to copy some files from your system or you don’t have access to a computer’s operating system(password protected) & you want to copy files from it.

You personal data is on big danger if you have keylogger in your system. Your personal information like your email id, facebook account id & password, bank account and all other secure data is on the risk if, your computer system is infected with a keylogger. 1. Press ctrl+alt+del in windows, that will open task manager, it will show all tasks running in your system by different software programs. Examine all the tasks running in your system, if their is any task running of which you are not aware of, look it up on a search engine.
2. Scan your system with antivirusprogram regularly, boot-scan your PC regularly, it’s possible this will pick up the Keylogger on your system. There are lots of free & paid anti-virus programs out there. I recommend Avast strongly.
3. Examine starup tasks running on your system, the system configuration utility to determine which task are loaded at start-up (type “msconfig” in the run box to start).
4. Download a install specific keylogger detector program, and see if it detects anything. There are lots of keylogger detector programs out their, you can find one easily by Google.
5. Scan your hard disk for the most recent files stored. Look at the contents of any files continually updating (these might be logs created by antivirus).
