Android 4.0 -Ice Cream Sandwich has been successfully ported onto the ancient HTC G1: Dream .does this mean that all old-school handsets or lower powered devices as well will be getting the Android 4.0 treatment as well???

usual line from the powers that be when asked about whether or not a device is getting updated to Android 4.0 is that it is either- too old or its ancient hardware specs cant handle Google new operating system. this line will no longer serve and it’s all thanks to G1.

HTC G1 came out in 2008 and is probably one of the most well known Android handsets. Reason for this is that the G1 pretty much kick started whole Android phenomenon and bringing Google’s new operating system into hands of consumers all over world.

Telecom regulator (TRAI) may come out with it's final recommendations on blocking lost and stolen mobiles by December. it will provide relief to people who fear the misuse of stored data and personal information. This first step is a part of the regulator's efforts to crack down on illegal handset market and discourage the selling of handsets.

Ss per a source in TRAI said,"... It (recommendations) was likely to come by the end of this month, but we have come across some problems with regard to duplicate International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers in mobile handsets available in the market, which is difficult to track. We are discussing it internally... it will take time, maybe by the end of this year,"

An IMEI-unique serial number that identifies the handset is stored in the equipment identity register (EIR) database of the service provider. Last year, At present there is no mechanism in place to block mobile phone in case it is lost. The telecom service provider only have rights to block the SIM card but they do not block the mobile phone.

TRAI is looking again in the issue after an earlier attempt in 2004 made no headway because a number of telecom networks did not have the capability to track mobile handsets. The regulator is already working to come out with the final guidelines on consumer complaints , which are likely to be out in the next 3 or 4 weeks. TRAI had came out with draft regulations under a consumer protection and redressal framework to protect interest of users lost their phone.Recently, TRAI put an end on the irritating calls from telemarketers by coming out with strict regulations recently.

Airtel will launch iPhone 4S on November 24. The major stores across India would be open at the time of the launch and people would be able to buy iPhone 4S as soon as clock strikes 00:01 on November 25.Aircel also had announced on it's Facebook page that it would launch iPhone 4S soon,almost certain that the carrier would launch iPhone 4S on November 24.
