TIME TRAVEL.

In March 2003, the FBI arrested 44-year-old Andrew Carlssin.

Newspaper reported that this man was extraordinary lucky in the history of stock market he had earned like no other. He invested $800 and within 2 weeks, and it turned into $350 million. The FBI suspected that he was running a scam. And that he was a insider trader. When Andrew was questioned, he answered that he was an time traveller. He claimed that he was a traveller from 250 Years in the future and that he knew how the stocks would perform so he invested in them. And got the extraordinary result. The FBI was surprised at this. The FBI was convinced that he was lying and they took it upon themselves to prove that he was lying. But when FBI investigated some more, they found that before December 2002, there was no record of Carlssin. Even more surprising was that On 3rd April, Carlssin had to appear in court for bail hearing, but had disappeared, never to be found again.

WAS HE REALLY A TIME TRAVELLER?

IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE TO TRAVEL THROUGH TIME OR IS IT ONLY FICTION FOR NOVELS & FILMS ?

In today’s blog let’s understand the concept of time travelling scientifically.

In 1895, writer H.G. Wells wrote his groundbreaking novel known as “THE TIME MACHINE”. It was after this that the phrase ‘time machine’ became popular. “A machine that can take you into the future as well as the past with it, you can travel through time”. Although the novel was fiction, a science fiction novel but several philosophers and physicists were inspired by it. Not only were serious research papers written on time travel, but many films were also made. If we think about it, the exact way time travel takes place can be used to classify it into different types. First, let’s use sci-fi films, to understand the concepts better. Time travel can be of very different kinds. The first is the one-way travel to the future. It is one sided time travel, “Interstellar” Film is an example of this, In it, a time traveller travelled to the future, but his family members and the other people keep on ageing, when he meets them again, some had even died too.

The second way is “INSTANTANEOUS TIME JUMPING”. That means a person can jump from one point in time to another instantly using a time machine. It was shown in the film back to the future and the girl who leapt through time.

The third way can be when the time traveller stands still, and it is the time that is moving around the traveller. This was shown is the film Harry Potter: Prisoners of Azkaban. When Hermione uses the time turner.

The fourth is the ‘slow time travel’ as shown in the 2004 film primer. The time traveller gets inside a box, with ever minute he spends in the box, he goes back into the time by a mistake. So if he wanted to go back a day, he had to remain in a box for a day.

The fifth is travelling at the speed of light to travel through time. This was shown in Superman (1979). In it, Superman flew faster than the speed of the light, and travels back in time.

The Question is, among all these concepts of time travel, which way is actually possible today?

In Real Life which way may be possible in the future?

& Which way is completely unscientific & would never be possible?

Don’t be surprised, you might think that all of these are rubbish, sci-fi, and can’t be possible. That’s not the truth, some of these are actually possible to do, even today. Broadly speaking, there can be two types of time travel. One is to travel into the future, and the other is to go back into the past. Let’s talk about travelling to the future first. The scientific explanations and theories of travelling to the future, are derived from Albert Einstein’s theory of special relativity. The concept of time dilation, was introduced by Einstein. Before Einstein, it was believed that the time is constant. Whether you’re on earth, or on Mars or near a black hole. Time was believed to be something that was constant. One of the most famous mathematicians and physicists in the world. Isaac Newton was one to say this. In his opinion, regardless of the speed with which you’re travelling through space, regardless of the position, the flow of time would be constant. Albert Einstein was the first person to refuse this. He said that Newton was wrong. Time isn’t constant. He claimed that time was like a river. Like water flows in a river, sometimes it slows down, sometimes the flow of the river speeds up, similarly, the flow of time, sometimes it slows down and sometimes it picks up the pace. Depending upon speed and gravity.

Yup, you heard it right, Einstein had said that time can actually speed up and slowed down. If the speed and gravitational force could be changed. This is known as Time Dilation. The way your Pupils (Part of an EYE) dilate, similarly time dilates too when the speed of an object increases or if an object is subjected to an increased gravitational force.

How had Einstein actually discovered this ?

About this we can talk about this in some other blog, it’s a very long explanation. It will take me some more days to understand that. So I won’t go into that explanation today.

But basically, time dilation can be also done into two ways. The first is with speed, that means if you are sitting in an object that is goin very fast. Like an Aeroplane or spacecraft. The faster something goes, the more would time slow down for it. Relative to a person who is’nt going as fast. Theoretically speaking, if we could build a rocket, that travels at the speed of light, and you get into that rocket. You remain in the rocket for 10 years travelling at that speed. And then you return to Earth, the time that you see on earth, would be 9000 years later. Simply speaking, if u travel into the future, you can already do it now, It is scientifically possible to do so today. The only problem is that there isn’t an aircraft that travels at this speed. You can get into the speed of light. But with improvements in technology, we can built more such aircraft and spaceships that can fly faster. It would slowly become possible. For now, Gennedy Padalka, a Russian astronaut, is credited with the most time travel into the future. It’s because he remained in space the longest i.e. 879 days and he was travelling at the speed of 28,000km/hr in space. Accordingly, he travelled 0.02 seconds into the future.

If you’re upset because you think we can’t get the technology with which we can travel so fast that we can travel through time significantly in the future, *Don’t be upset* because there is another way of time dilation as laid down by Einstein by using gravitational force that mean the more gravity the more time dilation.

Interestingly, there is a third way of time travelling in the future named as “Cryosleep”I . It has been shown in many films too. There was a film named as Passenger, you might remember. People were travelling in a spacecraft, they were frozen, they were in cryosleep, in it, for months and years, humans are put into a condition where they don’t age, they remain asleep. It’s a sci-fi. But NASA is trying to develop a statis chamber. You can get to know about this in NASA website.

So, about travelling in past, there would be many logical problems when travelling to the past. There would be paradoxes, due to these, it may never be possible. But travelling into the future, it is possible even today. And it will become more and more probable in the future. And to get a glimpse of the past, is currently possible too. So in a sense, time travel, already exists. And as shown in films like “INTERSTELLAR”, It was the scientific truth to an extent. But what about Andrew Carlssin’s story. I don’t say much about it. The story that I told you at the beginning of the blog, was actually a story published in a satirical newspaper, called “The Weekly World News”. Later it was printed by Yahoo News, and several other media organisation reported the story, as if it were fact. But the truth remains, that story was a satire. It was a fake news that was circulated in newspaper, and people believed that it was true. It was a fabricated story basically. I hope you found this blog informative

Times when actors weren’t really acting

Have you ever wondered how can someone act in such a realistic way that we tend to get so immersed in the scene that we actually tend to forget the fact that we were actually watching a movie or a series. Well we are also aware of the fact that how much hard work an actor puts in, in the scene or movie in order to make it look so damn realistic so that the audience is left speechless. Well what do you think? How far can an actor go to make a movie or a scene realistic?

● Starting from number 10, we have a scene from the ‘Elf’ directed by American actor and director Jonathan Kolia Favreau aka Jon Favreau. The film was released in the year 2003 starring actor Will Ferrell, James Caan, Zooey Deschanel and others. There was this scene where actor Will Ferrell was packing the toy called ‘jack in the box’. The director planned to give the actor a sudden shock. Director Jon Favreau was controlling the toy with a remote control and the ‘jack’ of the toy would pop up when he would press the button. Therefore what we see in the movie, when the actor Will Ferrell is usually packing the toys and the reaction when the ‘jack’ popped up was all natural and was not scripted at all.

● In the 9th place we have the scene from the 1996 horror, mystery film ‘Scream’, directed by director Wes Craven, featuring actor Drew Barrymore, Courteny Cox , David Arguette and others. In one of the movie scenes we see actress Drew Barrymore getting terrified because none of the actors were allowed to meet or to talk to the person who was playing the role of ‘Ghostface’ in the movie. The iconic telephonic conversation between them between him and Drew happens in real time where we see the actor getting terrified in real life.

● Leonardo Dicaprio is one of the finest actors of the Hollywood industry. He never fails to disappoint his fans through his fabulous acting skills. The 8th place is secured by his 2012 movie ‘Django Unchained’, directed by Quentin Tarantino, the scene where we see Leo slam his hands down atop the turtle shell table. Where many of us must think that the blood on his palm was artificial, well to our surprise he really does slice his palm open during this scene. We literally watched the actor’s hand get bloodier throughout the scene.

● Remember the 2005 rom-com film, ‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin’, casting Steve Carell as ‘Andy Stitzer’ directed by Judd Apatow? Well this film comes in the 7th place because of this one hilarious scene where we see actor Steve Carell getting his chest waxed. The entire scene seemed to be so realistic right? Well it all happened because the actor’s chest was literally waxed and apparently he waxed his chest for the first time and never thought that it would be that painful. During an interview with the ‘People’, Carell admitted that it hurt him more than he expected. Well maybe that’s why the scene seems to be more realistic to us.

● Coming to the 6th place we have the 1988 action-thriller film ‘Die Hard’ directed by John McTiernan starring actor Alan Rickman, Willis and others. The film was an adaptation of the famous novel ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ by author Roderick Thorp which was able to set fire at the box office because of its power pact action scenes. Talking about the action scenes, while filming the death scene of the character ‘Gruber’ played by actor Alan Rickman, the actor was told that he would be dropped from a height on the count of “3”. But unfortunately he was dropped off earlier at the count of “2”. The actor was not injured but his reaction due to this sudden incident made the movie scene as realistic as possible.

● Ever watched ‘ The Chronicles Of Narnia’? This 2005 American fantasy-adventure film featuring actress Tilda Swinton, Georgie Henlev and other talented actors was directed by Andrew Adamson. This film comes in the 5th position as actors Georgie Henly and Skandar Keynes who played the role of young siblings ‘Lucy’ and ‘Edmund’ respectively were really shocked to see ‘Narnia’ (the set) for the first time and their reactions we saw on screen were genuine because the director purposefully never showed the young actors the majestic set of the fantasy world in order to get that very shocked reaction on screen which was indeed a successful move by the clever director in order to get the very reacquired emotions to be captured on camera.

● A horror film never disappoints us in terms of jump-scares and chill. Well this 1974 horror-thriller film 'The Texas ChainSaw Massacre’ directed by Tobe Hooper didn’t not disappoint us because it stands in the 4th place in our countdown list. The director kept Gunnar Hansen’s (the actor who plays Leatherface) costume and masks a secret from the cast. Allen Danziger’s scream when he first sees the brutal killer is real and amp; genuine.

● Brad Pitt has become a synonym for action packed movies in Hollywood. The actor is known for performing risky stunts on his own without replacing those risky eye-catching stunts by stuntmen. The scene from his movie ‘Fight Club’ comes in the 3rd position in our list. The film was directed by David Fincher in 1999, this movie caught all the attention of the audience due to two prominent elements, Brad Pitt and off course action. Everything was going as good as usual until this one scene where the punching got a little too intense and real. During a recent interview in the Jimmy Fallon show, ‘The Tonight Show’, one of the actors of the film Edward Norton explains that he really hit Brad Pitt in the ear during one of the scenes and ended up injuring him. When Brad says, “Ow! Why the ear!?'' This very sentence was something which the actor spoke which was definitely not a part of the script or the movie and was said by the actor because he meant it. Crazy right?

● The 2nd position is secured by a scene in the movie ‘Pretty Woman’ directed by Garry Marshall , this 1990 film features actor Richard Gere and actress Julia Roberts where in one of the sequences the actress laughs at the actor when he slams the jewelry box. Initially according to the director as he told to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, that scene where actress Julia Roberts was seen laughing in an uncontrollable manner was actually started as a prank on the actress which was later kept as a part of the movie because the director found it a movie worthy one.

● The 1st position goes to the scene from the 2013 blockbuster ‘Now You See Me’ directed by Brian Tyler starring Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher, Morgan Freeman and other spectacular actors. While this film was able to win the hearts of many people, the special credit goes to this scene where the actress Isla Fisher nearly killed herself while performing a trick. In the scene her character performs a magic trick where she’s supposed to free herself from the shackles while she’s submerged on a tank filled with water. The problem started when one of the chains got actually stuck and she actually started drowning. People were appreciating her fantastic acting thinking that it was just a part of her acting, nobody really realized until one of the stuntmen urged to help her assuming that she wasn't really acting and was in trouble.

Well, these were some of the crazy examples of thousands of such incidents where many times, what we see in our movie screens, TV screens or mobile screens are the actual incidents happening with the actors behind the scenes and not to forget the fact that this is because of their hard work and dedication due to which we get chances to see such masterpiece in our lives.

What if one day you wake up in the most normal way but as the day goes on, you realise that all the people around feel completely different even though you see them everyday?

Meaning, you are with similar faces and surroundings but actually in a completely different place (or different world might I add).

This may seem like a plot of a science fiction movie, but the co-existence of worlds like our own is not entirely impossible according to some physicists. And some believe that communication and transportation are possible as well.

Sci-fi fans must be aware of terms such as, parallel worlds, parallel universes (multiverse), etc., that are widely used to describe the theories of different worlds like our own.

How did this idea of many-worlds come to be researched?

Although these ideas have been around from ancient times, Hugh Everett III (American physicist) in 1957 started the idea of parallel universes with research in mind.

Now, let us look at the various theories that may have been created all the worlds:

ETERNAL INFLATION

Around 13.7 billion years ago, everything burst into action and spread throughout, inflating faster than the speed of light. In a fraction of a second, the universe had exploded into a huge never-ending-like space. This process of inflation and explosion is called the cosmic inflation.

After that, as inflation slowed, a radiation appeared, creating the Big Bang fireball, and began to form atoms, molecules, stars and galaxies that now surround us.

That mysterious process of inflation and the Big Bang might have happened somewhere else too, making it convincible that multiple universes are possible.

Also, according to physicist Alexander Vilenkin, inflation didn't end everywhere at the same time. While it ended for Earth, another Earth-like place may have come into existence 100 or 1000 years later. In fact, cosmic inflation continues in one place or the other. This is called the theory of eternal inflation.

BUBBLE UNIVERSE THEORY

When the Big Bang happened, some parts of space-time expanded faster than others. This created 'bubbles' of space-time with each bubble containing its own universe. As inflation ends in one place it starts in another, forming a new bubble universe.

MANY-WORLDS INTERPRETATION (MWI)

This theory implies that there are infinitely uncountable universes. It is a hypotheses in physics that views every possible outcome of a quantum event to exist in its own universe. The "Schrödinger's cat" paradox by Erwin Schrödinger states that if a cat is placed in a sealed box with a flask of poison and radioactive source, the cat may be both dead and alive simultaneously in two different worlds but a person may experience only one of its outcomes.

THE BIG BANG

Universe began at Big Bang as most scientists believe, but on the opposite side of the timeline, back in time, another universe exists which is a complete mirror image of our own. In other words, both universes were created at Big Bang, but one exploded backward in time while the other, forward in time.

These theories support the ideas of multiverse but there are also things that shatters the ideas of multiverses. These include:

• Falsifiability - Since all are just theories about multiverse without actual witnesses, these theories may be proven wrong.

• No evidence - There is evidence amounting to none about the theories of multiverses.

Not all physicists believe multiverse exists and even fewer believe it possible to contact these universes.

But still some scientists have made different classifications of the universes that may exist.

Tegmark's classifications

In 2003, MIT physicist Max Tegmark broke down the different types of parallel universes allowed by physics into four levels:

• Level 1 - Regions Beyond Cosmic Horizon

• Level 2 - Other post-inflation bubbles

• Level 3 - The Many Worlds of Quantum Physics

• Level 4 - Other Mathematical Structures

Greene's classifications

In his 2011 book, Brian Greene approached another system of classification of parallel universes:

• Quilted Multiverses

• Inflationary Multiverse

• Brane Multiverse

• Cycling Multiverse

• Landscape Multiverse

• Quantum Multiverse

• Holographic Multiverse

• Simulated Multiverse

• Ultimate Multiverse

So if you somehow transport to another world or universe, you may be able to know how your life would look like if you took a different decision in one point of your life.

LAVASA CITY FAILURE

Lavasa is a private, planned city built near pune. It is stylistically based on the Italian town Portofino, with a street and several buildings bearing the name of that town. Lavasa would be India’s first privately built and managed city, one of five planned for 30,000 to 50,000 people each, with a cost that would be of billion dollars.

The rs 2,153 crore high-end luxury Lavasa hill city project near Pune has been declared unauthorized by the environmental ministry, but with a lifeline. The ministry, however, in lieu of investments made and third-party rights created, has offered to regularize the project. It has also been ordered that since there was environmental degradation, all work at Lavasa will continue to stay until the company takes a step to regularize the project. It has also asked the company to prepare a Comprehensive Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) and environment management plan .

Lavasa was once touted as the future template of how Indian cities would look like, a manufactured, manicured paradise in hills near Pune, based Portofino. In late 2010, the Indian Environment and Forests Ministry ordered that construction cease because the project violated environmental laws. as of late 2011, this order has been rescinded. The project’s scale may have been reduced, however, and an initial public offering may not occur.

Today, Lavasa is
an incomplete shell housing some 10,000people a symbol of the excesses gripping the world’s second most-populous nation.

THE LIGHT BEHIND BLACK HOLE!

For First Time Ever, Scientists Detect Light Behind the Black Hole, Proving Einstein Theory

In a significant first, scientists have detected light behind a black hole, which is usually covered by its shadow. What’s more? The remarkable findings have once again proved yet another part of Albert Einstein’s theory that had no actual evidence so far.

In what can be called a serendipitous discovery, scientists from Stanford University in California had started this research to study one of the mysterious features of the black holes known as the corona. But, before we jump to what exactly this feature is, first, let’s understand the black hole better.

The black hole has three layers. First, the event horizon—the most popular feature—forms the boundary of a black hole beyond which nothing can escape the fate of the universe's darkest forces. Second, the accretion disk—an incredibly hot disk—where the matter gets collected before finally being swallowed by the cosmic monster.

The third is the corona located just outside the event horizon. The name has been derived from the Sun’s corona as it showcases similar properties and heats up to millions of degrees. This extremely hot region consists of superheated particles fueled by the powerful magnetic field of black holes. It has been hypothesized that some corona hones power to spew out powerful x-ray flares.

Einstein’s general theory of relativity predicted that the light must bend and reflect due to the strong gravitational pull around a black hole. Voila! The team found direct evidence of reflected light from around this supermassive black. The observations were in line with the theory’s suggestion.

"Any light that goes into that black hole doesn't come out, so we shouldn't be able to see anything that's behind the black hole. The reason we can see is that black hole is warping space, bending light and twisting magnetic fields around itself," explains Dan Wilkins.

This study has taken our understanding of black holes and the processes around them to a whole new level. More importantly, the results provide empirical evidence to a century-old theory.

Stranger Things season 4 new characters breakdown

Stranger Things is returning with its fourth season in 2022. David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and the others are returning with the fourth season of this Netflix hit series. A lot of new characters will be introduced in the series this season. In November 2020, the new characters for season 4 were announced by Netflix on their official social media handles which included main as well as recurring characters. Again in June 2021, few other recurring characters for season 4 were introduced. Let's breakdown all these new characters one by one.

1) Eddie Munson

Eddie is described as an "audacious 80’s metalhead who runs The Hellfire Club, Hawkins High’s official D&D club. Hated by those who don’t understand him — and beloved by those who do — Eddie will find himself at the terrifying epicenter of this season’s mystery.”

British actor Joesph Quinn will play the role of Eddie and has been added as a series regular in season 4. Since he will be the head of the Hellfire Club, he will be friends with Mike and Dustin as its clear from the set pics that they will be members of that club. Eddie and his Hellfire Club might be a target by the people of Hawkins for all the evil in their town.

2) Peter Ballard

Peter is described as "a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital. Tired of the brutality he witnesses day after day, will Peter finally take a stand?"

He will be played the English actor Jamie Campbell Bower and has been added as a series regular in season 4. As the character description says that he will be an orderly at a psychiatrist hospital, its most likely that it will be Pennhurst Mental Asylum where he will be the caretaker of Victor Creel. Many people have theorised that he will be possessed by the Mind Flayer in season 4 and will be its new host.

3) Argyle

Argyle is described as "a fun-loving stoner, Pizza delivery boy, and Jonathan's new best friend."

He will be played the American actor Eduardo Franco and has also been added as a series regular in season 4 besides Jamie Bower and Joseph Quinn's characters. He will be from the new town that the Byers' have moved to and will be friends with our beloved Jonathan. His pizza delivery van has been spotted across different sets of Stranger Things 4 and that makes us believe that Argyle will be an iconic character in Stranger Things.

4) Victor Creel

Victor is described as "a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s."

He will be played by the American actor Robert Englund, who is best known for his performance in The Nightmare of the Elm Street. Victor will be a recurring character in season 4. He will most likely be a serial killer from the 1950s and has been imprisoned in the Pennhurst Asylum since then. There's a theory that he is actually the first test subject of the Hawkins Lab and has some kind of superpowers. Many people have also theorized that he will be a relative of Joyce Byers'. This character seems very interesting and will have a major significance in the storyline.

5) Jason Carver

Jason is described as "a handsome, rich athlete who is dating the most popular girl in school. But as a new evil threatens Hawkins, his perfect world begins to unravel."

He will be played by the American actor Mason Dye and has been added as a reccuring character in season 4. He will be dating Chrissy, a cheerleader and the most popular girl in school.

6) Lt. Colonel Sullivan

Sullivan is described as "an intelligent, no-nonsense man who believes he knows how to stop the evil in Hawkins once and for all."

He will be played the American actor Sherman Augustus and has been added as a recurring character in season 4. Since he will be a Military officer he might help Dr. Brenner to abduct Eleven from the Byers'. This has been hinted at the new season 4 sneak peek where we see Eleven being held by two people, one of whom is Sullivan. Seems like he will cause problems for our heroes in season 4.

7) Dmitri

Dmitri is described as "a smart and charming Russian prison guard who will befriend Hopper. But can he be trusted?"

He will be played by the German actor Tom Wlaschiha, who is best known for his performance in Game of Thrones. He has been added as a recurring character in season 4. Since he will be a friend to Hopper, he might help Hopper escape from the prison but there are chances that he will be a betrayer.

8) Yuri

Yuri is described as "a seedy and unpredictable Russian smuggler who loves bad jokes, cold hard cash, and crunchy style peanut butter."

He will be played the Serbian actor Nikola Djuricko and has been added as a recurring character. In February 2021, Stranger Things sent a mysterious package to some fanpages across the world. The package had some figures of Matrioska Dolls, Hawkins Newspaper from the 1980s and Yuri's phone number. That number is 907-206-7700.

When fans called the number they heard a pre recorded voice mail from Yuri where he talked about booking a trip with him. Its most likely that Joyce and Murray had booked a ticket with his company to rescue Hopper from Russia.

9) Vickie

Vickie is described as "a cool, fast talking band nerd who catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes."

She will be played by the Irish-Canadian actor Amybeth McNulty and has been added as a recurring character for season 4. In the Netflix geeked week event, The Duffer Brothers have said that Vickie will be introduced as a recurring character in season 4 but will have a major role in later in the series. This makes us wonder whether she was also a test subject or has some kind of relation to the experiments. As given in the character description that she will catch the eye of one of our beloved heroes, it has been speculated by fans that it will be Robin.

10) Patrick

Patrick is described as "a Hawkins basketball star who has friends, talent, and a good life...until shocking events send his life spiralling out of control."

He will be played by the American actor Myles Truitt and has also been added as a recurring character. As of now, we can't make much theories on this character except for the fact that he will be friends with Lucas since they both love basketball.

11) Chrissy

Chrissy is described as "a Hawkins' High lead cheerleader and the most popular girl in school. But beneath the seemingly perfect surface lies a dark secret."

She will be played by the American actor Grace Van Dien and has also been added as a recurring character in season 4. In early 2020, a leaked information revealed that Chrissy is abused by her mom at home. So this might be her dark secret despite being the most popular girl in school. Also she will be dating Jason Carver.

12) Ms Kelly

Ms Kelly has been described as "a popular guidance counsellor who cares deeply for her students especially those struggling the most."

She will be played by the American actor Regina Ting Chen and has also been added as a recurring character in season 4. She will be a counsellor at Hawkins High and would help students who are suffering. So we could see her counselling Maxine, who is grieving after the death of Billy, as well as Chrissy.
