Shivers ran down my spine when I read about a lady who was almost kidnapped and raped in broad daylight. What would had happened if she didn't fight off those bastards? It is really unthinkable. I have a wife and a daughter...that's why I am horrified when I heard about such disgusting news. To think that it happened in a so-called "high-class" shopping complex-The Curve, in Mutiara Damansara, makes me feel that my country (Malaysia) is not such a safe country after all. Damn it! These bastards should be arrested and punished immediately!

This goes to show that you need to depend on yourself when you are in danger. And that was exactly what this gutsy lady-Chin Xi Ci, did last Sunday to save herself from the clutches of evil. As I sit here writing this, I am just so grateful to be alive.

To think that 30 hours ago I had a knife to my throat, face to face with the threat of being kidnapped and raped.

It was a Sunday, at 5.22PM. I was alone, walking towards my boyfriend's car in level B2 of The Curve, Mutiara Damansara. He was not in town, and I was running errands with his car. Just as I was putting my shopping bags in the rear seat, the rear car door was slammed against my back, and a meat cleaver was pressed against my throat. A man covered my mouth with his hand, and whispered not to scream. He then shoved me onto the floor of the backseat of the car and waved the cleaver at me, reminding me not to scream. He was skinny, wearing a baggy turqoise blue t-shirt, had a thick moustache and short curly hair, approx 5'8", mid-30s, and of Indian descent.

At this moment, second man appeared. He was also in his mid-30s. He was wearing a red t-shirt, had a crewcut, and was of Malay descent. He grabbed my car keys and demanded for my parking ticket. I couldn't remember where it was. They shoved me deeper into the car, and the Indian man got into the back seat with me, while the Malay man got into the driver's seat, driving us out of the carpark.

I told them they could take everything, just let me go. But at that point they didn't even ask for money. Instead, the Indian man started to make sexual advances. Then it hit me. "Oh my God. Oh my God. This is really happening. I'm being kidnapped.. and I think I know what they want."

From this moment on, there were a few crucial things that happened that I think is the reason I'm alive today.

1. I managed to get into a position to escape.

When they got into the car, the Indian man had tried to force my body down onto the floor. I knew that the moment I'm on the floor, there would be no chance of escape. So I begged him to let me sit up. I promised him I wouldn't scream or alert anyone's attention. Thankfully, he trusted me, and let me sit up, gripping my arm tightly. Then I told him my arm really hurt and to please not grip it so hard. He loosened his grip.

2. I did not fight for the sake of fighting.

I was in an enclosed space, with no clear escape route. I would never win in a fight with these 2 guys, especially when they have sharp weapons. Had I fought from the get go, I may not have been in a position to escape. I might've even been knocked out cold, and God only knows where I would be right now.

3. I was lucky and sneaky.

I knew that the only way to escape, was to jump out of the car, even if it was moving. They had locked the car doors. So I leaned back, pretended to scratch my hair, and shakily unlocked the door I was leaning against. I'm so lucky they did not see or hear this!

4. I went 'crazy' at the right time.

And then I waited. I knew that the car would have to slow down outside the parking lot, as it exits to merge with the main roads. The moment it slowed down, I opened the car door and tried to make a run for it. I failed. I kicked my legs out of the car, but the Indian man had managed to pull my body back in. From this moment on, everything is a blur. I remember the Malay driver temporarily stopping the car, leaning over from the driver's seat and attempting to close the door and pull my legs in. At that point I remember thinking, "Even if I don't get out now, I need to keep the door open and my legs out the door. At the very least, it should cause a scene, and someone would see me. Or, the door might hit another car and they'll be forced to slow down." So I continued kicking. My right foot pushed against the wide-open car door to keep it open. I recall elbowing, struggling, kicking, and even biting. I lost my glasses, and was struggling blindly for my life. At some point the Malay driver yelled, "BAGI DIA LEPAS! BAGI DIA LEPAS!" (Let her go! Let her go!) and the Indian man loosened his grip. I made a jump out of the still-moving car, and ran for my life.

5. I acted in spite of the fear.

My friends said I was brave. But I didn't feel like it. I was quivering and shaking in fear. I was so afraid. I thought I was going to die. I was weak with fear and deathly afraid. I truly thought "this was it". But I knew I HAD to move. I had to run. Or there would be a worser fate in store for me. While I was quaking in fear, I forced myself to look around and see if there was any way I could escape, or even catch someone's eye.

6. I remembered the people I love.

The only thing that matters when you're faced with potentially horrendous fate, is the people in your life. When I felt the knife to my neck, the first thing I thought was , "This cannot be happening. I must be dreaming." The second? The people that truly matter to me flashed across my mind. It sounds cliche, but it's true. I thought of my parents. My brother. Khailee. Esther. More people. That's all I could think of for a few moments, before I thought, "Shit. I need to get out of here."

I ran towards the Maybank outlet at the Curve. There were plenty of people milling around. I screamed for help over and over again. I was hysterical. I grabbed an older Malay man by his shoulders and begged for help before practically collapsing at his feet.

I will always remember the relief and liberation I felt, running over Mutiara Damansara's manicured grass and into the crowd.

Today, I found out that the entire ordeal from the moment I left the parking ticket payment machine, to my escape, happened in about 4 minutes. To me, it felt like one long nightmare.

We never think its going to happen to us... and then it does. I used to think that this is something that happens only in the papers and to people far, far removed from me. But then it did happen to me. I moved to PJ/KL 6 years ago, and I've spent countless mornings, afternoons and nights at The Curve. When my friends and I were organizing Rock Up! back in 2008, we were walking around the place at 4AM even. It's been 6 years, and never once did I feel that I was unsafe at The Curve. Until yesterday.

I feel like moving out of the country ASAP. Getting the hell out of this state where you hear of a kidnapping or attempted one every month (remember Nayati?), or a snatch theft every week. And yet I'm fully aware of the fact that in another country with more lax firearm laws, they would've been holding a gun to my head, not a cleaver. And that would've been so, so much worse.

I'm Blessed. By God's grace, I am alive and relatively well. And I will live another day to build another cat iPhone app. It just was not my time to go. And for that, I thank God.

I want to share this story with everyone because cops tell me that they rarely get to hear it from someone who escapes.

Girls, be so very careful. Be vigilant, and please try not to go anywhere alone. If you need to walk to the carpark, and you're alone, get a guard to go with you. I was recently told that it's part of their job description to assist anyone if needed.

Guys, watch out for your girlfriends, wives, mothers, sisters and friends. Walk with them, don't take their paranoia or fear lightly. Watch out for them.

And everyone, just watch out for each other. Take care of each other. These things really DO happen. As I ran out of the car, so many people came to help me. Strangers who didn't know who I was, came forward and offered me tissue paper, water, cellphones, and general comfort.

Malaysians, please care for one another. You already do. Just keep on caring. Keep watching out for each other. Don't worry about being thought of as "busy body" or "overreacting". The world can be a cruel place, but all it takes is for people to care for one another to make all the difference.

Playing With Baby Jasmine

Baby Jasmine is 6 months old now. She has grown up very quickly. In fact she has so far outdone her older brother in almost every "motory" department. Last month Jasmine has managed to roll over on her own. I believe Jasmine is more advanced because she is a girl. Right Jordan boy? ;) Our Jasmine is a big girl now, meaning that she is more demanding. Nowadays she doesn't want to be confined to her bassinet or walker. Jasmine demands to be carried all the time by her mommy and daddy...which can be extremely exhausting. Not to mention the ache we will feel later in our wrists. :p

Jasmine girl hates to see herself lying on her bassinet. She wants to move around, just like her "kor kor" (brother). So we will put her in the walker. Then she will excitedly chase her brother all around the house. However...after a while...Jasmine girl will get tired and that's when she will start to cry. She will look at both my wife and I, pleading for us to carry her. Of course we will immediately "free" her from her walker and carry her around. Instantaneously she will smile. :)

Sorry for the irritating sound that I made. :(

Jasmine girl soon realizes that being carried around is much more fun compared to walking on her own. She won't get tired and she can "follow" her brother way quicker. That's why sometimes she doesn't even want to be put into her walker. Naughty girl! Then again my wife and I love to carry her. And when we do, we like to play a game with Jasmine. If I am the one carrying her, I will ask her to find her mommy; If my wife is the one carrying her, she will ask Jasmine to find me. Haha :D

By now most of you (my loyal readers) would have known that I am very, very attached to my Jordan boy. He has been my beacon, shining over me ever since the first day he "swum" into my life. Like his sister and mother, Jordan boy completes me. That is why I wanna spend as much time as possible with him no matter how tired I am. And one of the favourite activities that Jordan boy and me love doing together is walking. On weekdays after fetching Jordan boy home from the babysitter, I will bring him out for his evening walk before bathing him. Likewise on weekends, I will be bringing him out at least twice for his morning and evening walk. Sometimes he will drag his old man me to the door and point to his sandals, urging me to bring him out for his walk. Yes! He really, really loves to go out and walk. Of course I will happily oblige to his demand as long as the weather is being accommodating.

I am really glad that my baby boy loves the outdoor instead of staying in the house watching TV and messing around with either my iPad or Android tablet. I feel very happy to see my Jordan boy enjoying his old fashion play time away from the gadgets and electronic stuff! That is why I love strolling with my Jordan boy even though sometimes we will be on the road for almost 45 minutes. Ha :D Yes, there is plenty to do when he puts on his sandals. It is like he is in his element when he is walking.

I really cherish every single moment that I shared with my Jordan boy. I love to see him seriously observing his surrounding while strolling with me; I love to see him kicking every single kick-able object in his path (like a boss); and I definitely love to see him hugging my legs, resting for a while before he continues to trek his "jungle". You are growing up very fast Jordan boy. Daddy hope one day you will remember that you used to hold daddy's hands, walking around our neighbourhood.

Gelatissimo Ice Cream @ The Gardens

After setting our taste buds on fire at Chili's Midvalley, we trawled the bottom most part of MidValley to find a cold dessert to doze off the our fiery mouth. We searched and searched...and searched...high and low until we ventured into a new uncharted "water"-The Gardens. Realizing that we had wondered too far from our anchored ship ~~car,~~ we turned back, heading towards MidValley again. However before we left the Gardens, we were stopped in our tracks at the sight of some weird-looking ice cream under the name of Gelatissimo. My wife and I thought we should try those ice cream.

Gelatissimo-The Real Taste of Italia.

They have been around for 500 years? Sure or not? :p

I can't believe that this is my first time hearing about this Gelatissimo Ice Cream even though they have been around for 500 years (or so they claim)! Do you know that Gelatissimo is the most famous ice cream in Australia, yet these chilling dessert was first scooped in Italy. Ha :D So we stopped and peeked through the glass to look at the different ice creams at our disposal. I must admit that I was visually impressed (you will find out why later) by those ice cream. Gelatissimo has given me such an amazing first impression that I am tempted to try it.

So what's your flavour?

There are at least 2 dozens of different flavours for you to choose from at Gelatissimo. So you will be spoilt. Trust me! It took me more than 5 minutes to decide which flavours will be melting in my mouth on that day. I had to be choosy...after all I will only be there like once a year. As usual I was attracted by flavours such as Choc Hazelnut, Choc Chip, Tiramisu and well...anything that is brown (chocolate) or black (coffee). However there is one flavour of ice cream that I dare not try at Gelatissimo...

So how do you like your ice cream?

I had never expected that there was such a flavour of ice cream. I guess nothing is impossible aye. So...*drum roll* the ice cream that made my jaw dropped was...Chilli Chocolate. Yes! CHILI! WTH? Chili in your ice cream? My eyes almost popped our from their sockets when I laid my eyes on this spicy ice cream. I had never seen such a daring unique flavour in other ice cream shop. In the end I was not adventurous ~~man~~ enough to try out Chili Chocolate. Any of you have tried it? How does it taste? Really spicy?

All in all we really enjoyed our Gelatissimo Ice Cream. Gotta thanks my wife for treating us dessert. I had the small cup (1 scoop) of Gelatissimo while my wife, sister-in-law and babies shared the 2-scoop medium Gelatissimo ice cream. IMHO, Gelatissimo ice cream tastes a bit more refined compared to the other ice cream I have tasted before. Moreover, its distinctively unique offerings...both visually and flavour have really tempted me. Next time I am going to try the Chili Chocolate. Ha :D

The Alley His Father Used To Trot [PICS]

It warms my heart to see my very own son is playing in the alley I used to play when I was young. Looking back at this narrow "lorong" (alley) in my late grandma's home, it nudged me to realize how much I have aged. To think that I grew up playing football, basketball, hide-and-seek, throwing paper airplane, commando training (you name it) in this alley...really makes my heart throbs and my eyes wet. It makes me miss my childhood. It makes me miss my late grandma and mommy...

Too much has changed over the years...some not to my liking. This alley makes me reminisce about the good old days where I played with my brother and cousins...I even did my homework here. The alley itself has changed dramatically. It is very different from what it used to look like 15 years ago. There aren't many pots of flowers like it used to be...the wooden wall that stood next to this alley had been replaced with bricks and mortar...A lot have changed...just like how my life has changed.

So the other day...I felt so touched to see my very own son trotting along the alley that I used to play...it's like an accomplishment. Watching him happily running up and down the alley made me feel so graced...

Can't Sleep Without Holding Mommy's Fingers

My Jasmine girl is 6 months old right now. She is getting increasingly attached to his dearest mommy. Wherever my wife goes, my daughter will be following her with her eyes of course. It's like my daughter can't take her eyes off her mommy. Even before she closes her eyes and sleep, she wants to mommy to be by her side. Remember my previous post: Jasmine girl sleeping in mommy's arms [PICS]? She feels safe and sound as long as mommy is close to her. :)

My Jasmine girl has a habit of holding her mommy's hand or fingers while she is about to sleep. She will refuse to sleep if my wife isn't sitting by her side, holding her little hand. Such a demanding little girl huh! Then she will grab my wife's hand tightly and slowly drift into her dreamland. It is really heart-warming to see the bonding between my wife and my little girl.

So my wife has to let my daughter hold her hand every time she is about to sleep, especially during night time. I am sure my wife won't be complaining as she is enjoying every single second of it. She will always smile and look at my daughter as she squeezes her fingers. It is such a priceless moment for both my wife and my daughter. They will surely reminisce about this one day. :)

Heat Wave Will Be In Malaysia Until September?

That's right folks. Experts have warned that the current heat wave will be staying with us-Malaysians, until September. Gosh~that's like another 4 months to go? I am sure most of us Malaysians are feeling the heat recently, right? What is going wrong? Why am I feeling that the weather is getting hotter and hotter? Global warming is worsening? Just the other day I saw my neighbour installing yet another air-con for his home. That's an obvious tell tale sign, no?

We Malaysians are egg on the frying pan!

Yours truly me have to switch on the air-conditioner every single night for my 3 babies to be sound asleep. I even have to lower the temperature of the air-con to around 23 degrees Celsius (usually it is 25) and switch it on longer than I usually would. Worse still...it even feels hot in the morning. I guess the weather is getting too hot for us to handle huh! It's like we are eggs being fried on a Teflon pan on top of Bunsen burner. LOL :D Should this worsens...we will become "hangus" (burnt). So now what?

P.S.: Sorry that I have been MIA-ing in the blogsphere recently. Been busy but I assure you that I will be back soon. :)

Some of you might have known me for more than 4 years as a blogger right? But I have never ever exposed to any of you my WHOLE real identity online to all of you. My blog is read by people from all walks of life all over the world; I had around 92,000 people following me on Twitter; I played a lot in the "virtual" playground; I posted hundreds of photos about my personal life; but I have never ever revealed who I really am as a person. You think you know me...but you don't...

Are your reputation at stake online?

I won't be telling you where I am living; hence I have never ever foursquared about my sanctuary-home. There is no way I am going to tell you where I am working, let alone telling you my job. Most of you only know me by my nickname-Tekkaus. The most you will be able to trace from my online trails is my real name-Christopher Lay, and that's it. Nothing more. I am not going to let you know everything. That is why I describe myself as an enigma. :p

What affect your online reputation?

How about you? Are you being too open with your virtual self? So much so that people know your full name and your personal details that they shouldn't know? Do you often reveal about where your home is via foursquare? Or you like to tell people where you are working in? Worse still...do you love to badmouth your boss, company or clients online? If your answers to most of the questions above are yes...your safety and reputation are at stake. We have to understand that our virtual life is now intimately connected to our real life.

Familiar?

Yes. The more connected your life is to the internet, the easier it is for your reputation to be at stake. I understand that all of us want our very own freedom of speech. However...that freedom of speech, if adversely abused will bring untold damages to your life. Imagine you lost your job because of some tweets or your postings on Facebook. Is it worth it? Definitely not right? Worse still your future employer might be checking about you (and your reputation) online before they actually hire you.

Your boss might be "looking" for you before he hires you.

On the other hand, what if someone is trying to tarnish your reputation online? What if your colleagues defame you in the internet by posting lies and fabricating untrue stories about you? What if your competitors in business dirty their hands to sully your good names in the internet? It's virtually impossible for you to detect all the slanders and lies about you UNLESS you have a reliable online reputation management which can help to maintain you or your company's good name.

How you "appear" on the internet is very important.

So far the best online reputation management company I have personally tried is Reputation.com. It will scourge the internet, looking for existing articles, tweets, post etc. about YOU especially ones which will damage your reputation. It will even find any exposed personal info of yours on the internet. Best of all you will be alerted once a new post, tweet, article (be it good or bad) about you appear on the internet. So it is literally like your very own lawyer looking out for you. Cool aye?

Last but not least, I strongly advise all my friends who are reading this right now too be extra careful with whatever you are doing or saying right now, especially on the internet. People are always watching at you! Remember that more often than not, your virtual life reflects your real life and not the other way round anymore. Likewise if your reputation is being tarnished online, deal with it immediately. If possible find an expert to safeguard you.

Chicago has gained prominence in recent years as a culinary destination. Thanks in large part to its impressive number of Michelin stars and the cache of its most expensive restaurants – including among them Charlie Trotter’s, Alinea, L20, and Next – Chicago has risen in the ranks of foodie cities and now counts itself as a peer of New York and San Francisco. Visitors to the city will not lack for high-end dining options should they want to pursue them.

But this does not mean that eating in Chicago needs to be expensive, even if you are trying to sample some of the city’s signature cuisines. Sure, a night at Cook Au Vin, one of the city’s top French locales, is probably out of the question for those on a budget. And even Chicago’s historical signature dish, deep dish pizza, is hard to get cheaply at any spot in town. Yet, there are almost limitless restaurants that can offer a Chicago eating experience on a bare-bones budget. Meet Aunt Molly & The Seasoned Dried Chili

I have always loved home-cooked better than those over-hyped street and restaurant food. Not only is home-cooked food healthier, it is absolutely tastier as well. That is why I love to eat at the comfort of my very own home(s). Today I am going to introduce my Aunt Molly who is one of the few remaining great chefs in my family. Although she had learnt a lot from my late grandma, Aunt Molly has perfected quite a number of cuisines, making them more delectable.

When we visited our Aunt Molly the other day, she was busy cooking lunch. Upon seeing us, she immediately told us to have lunch together, which we of course couldn't resist. Ha :D We waited patiently for our aunt to serve us her yummy dishes. After half and hour or so our lunch is finally on the table. All in all Aunt Molly had actually cooked 7 different dishes for us to savour. Aww...it did feel like we are dining in a fancy restaurant after all. Ha :D

So what did we feast on? For starter we had black pepper chicken stir-fried in soya sauce. It was very flavourful and tender to say the least. We also had beaten eggs fried with shredded red chili. Aunt Molly also served us a plate of salted fish fillets which will make you drool! However I didn't consume any of the salty fish as I don't eat too salty food. Up next we helped ourselves to the some huge, succulent prawns. They were really juicy. Ha :D

They say no meal is complete without vegetables right? Aunt Molly cooked a huge bowl of vegetable mixture comprising of broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, scallop and some mushrooms. Apart from the eggs, we had an even spicier dish being served on the table-spicy, curry crabs. Now I am going to show a dish that I have never ever seen in my entire. Behold: The seasoned dried chili, which was my very first time seeing and tasting them. OMG! The chili was not only spicy, it was crunchy with a hint of sweetness! Really delicious!

Last but not least we had lotus root soup to call it a day for our satisfied tummy. Although the food might not look as classy as those served in restaurants, they were really scrummy. In fact they tasted a lot more better compared to the "outside" food that I usually eat. And not forgetting the seasoned dried chili which really "exploded" in my mouth...it's like I had an out-of-body experience the moment they chili and my tastebuds made contact! Pow!

I Am A Nivea Man. How About You?

Ok...this post might sound a bit "gay"...nonetheless I am proud to say that I am a Nivea Man. I have been using Nivea For Men products for years and I am one satisfied and happy user. Currently I am using Nivea's facial wash, moisturizer (once in a blue moon) and deodorants. I started to use facial wash when I hit puberty at 13 years old. Back then my whole face is like a moon. Full of pimples. Haha :D I think it was because of the onset of puberty. Thank goodness those hundreds of pimples have gone a few days after they surfaced.

Although my face is considered generally clean without pimples...it is still oily. That is why I need to wash my face every single day. If I don't...the pores of my skin might get clogged and that is when little volcanoes start to appear. Worse comes to worst...the volcanoes will erupt and spew out the lava all over my face. Euuww...but I seldom have any pimples on my face lar...they will appear like once in 2 or 3 months...I think so. This usually happens when I don't wash my face. Haha :D

With Nutri-repair, acne oil control...blah...blah...blah. See? So good!

I think the best facial wash I have ever used is Nivea's 10-in-1 Whitening Cleanser & Scrub. Every time after using this facial wash, I feel very, very invigorated and fresh. As if I have just peeled off a few layers of my "dirty" skins from my face. As for the moisturizer...I think I have only used it like a few times. Haha :D But the deodorants...I cannot go to work without it. If I don't apply Nivea's deodorant before put on my formal attire, I will smell like a skunk in the office. Ha :D

You know what? There was this what time...I really thought about embracing the idea of being metro-sexual. That was why I did take extra good care of myself some time ago. But not anymore...I think being metro-sexual is a bit gayish. No disrespect ok. Plus...I don't really care about my appearance anymore. Right now I just wanna stay clean, neat and tidy. Today I would love to share with you guys probably one of the cutest species of monkeys I have ever seen (known) in my entire life. Behold the world's cutest and smallest monkey-the Finger Monkey aka Pygmy Mormoset. They are totally different from their wilder, more vicious cousins. These finger monkeys are so adorable that you may not wanna take your eyes off them...like forever. If one of these super adorable finger monkeys were to cling on to your fingers, I am sure you would wanna bring it home. :)

Finger Monkeys are native to the rain-forests of Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia. They are no doubt the world's tiniest true monkey with its body length (excluding the tail) ranging from 14 to 16 centimeters. These finger monkeys have also been known as "pocket monkey" and "tiny lion". A real cute little lion huh! Let's have a look at some photos of the world's tiniest and not to mention cutest monkey ever. Just look at the eyes...aww...

Finger monkey can live up to 12 years in the wild and into their twenties in zoos. Do you know that these finger monkeys feed on the gum of tree in their natives habitat, so it will be hard for them to be domesticated as pets. It does look more adorable compared to a sugar glider right? Fancy to have a pair of finger monkeys to be your pet? I am so in love with these Finger Monkeys right now. These tiny finger monkeys can snuggle in my pocket and follow me wherever I go. Too bad...they are still monkeys. They are so exotic that special care needed to be given to them, not to mention special food. Only keep these finger monkeys as your pet if you are really ready. :)

Eating 11 Different Cakes

First thing first, I would like to thank the department of our boss for treating us buffet lunch at Reinassance Hotel Malacca. Well...free food always tastes better right, more so in a 5-star hotel? Especially when you are not the one who is footing the bills. Haha :D I was kinda late today because I was reluctant to join the buffet initially. Nonetheless I made it albeit being 15 minutes late. Upon arriving I could see a lot of my colleagues were already ~~devouring~~ enjoying their yummy food.

It took me quite some time to have that appetite to eat. But once I started...I can't seem to stop. Haha :D The ambiance of this 5-star hotel is good, the food is great. Then I decided to try something. I took all the available different cakes to taste them. My preferred choices of cakes are always brown (chocolate) and yellow (cheese) in colour...so I didn't take perhaps 2 or 3 cakes which were neither brown nor yellow. All in all, I grabbed 11 different cakes. Never have I tasted 11 different flavours of cake on the same plate before. So how was it? Absolutely delicious. Top that up with 2 cups of perfectly brewed coffee...aww...it couldn't get any better right?

Baby Jasmine Learns To Roll Over [PICS+VIDEO]

Little Jasmine is a bit more advanced compared to her elder brother when it comes to honing her motor skills. Last month she was barely 5 months old and she could already roll over with good control of her head. Perhaps it is because she is a girl? So she is more "mature" physically compared to her brother? Jordan could only achieve this feat when he was around 8 or 9 months old. It was really a joy watching how she tried to roll over. Sometimes it is a bit funny to look at her rolling over and both my wife and I can't help but laugh. Haha :D

Then again I think one of the main reasons why Jasmine wanted to learn to move around so fast is because of her brother. She likes to look at what Jordan boy is doing all the time. Her eyes will be following his every movement. Jordan is 21 months old now, so naturally he can move around very easily on his 2 feet. Perhaps Jasmine wants to play with his brother, thus motivating her to learn to move as quick as she she can. I can't wait to see both of them playing together. It will be a heart-warming sight. :)

So how does Jasmine roll over from her back onto her tummy? Well, in order for a baby to be able to roll over she must have good control of her head first, which Jasmine has already mastered because she is very tough, remember? :p Fist she will turn her head to the side and then raises one of her legs to help her roll over. The turning of her head will provide that momentum to help turn her raised foot to the other side....voila she will be on her tummy already. Awesome! :)

Jasmine girl really loves her newly-found skill. It allows her to move around a bit on her Queen-size bed that she shared with mommy. At the time of this writing, she is able to roll over and crawl...backward already. Haha :D Yupe! She has mastered the "reverse gear". So every time she is "reversing", my wife and I will be mimicking the reverse sensor of a car. So bad of us huh! Well, Jordan boy learnt to move backward first before he eventually learnt to crawl forward. LOL :D

Time really flies huh! Just last year she was born and now she is moving on her own already. My wife and I are gonna cherish all these precious moments of our babies. We will always remember how Jasmine girl turned her head with her tongue stuck out before she rolled over. However...Jasmine girl can't roll from her tummy to her back again after rolling over. So she will cry when she cannot roll over and scream for our help. Ha :D

Yesterday, after joining me, my wife and her kor kor (elder brother) in exploring the Historic City of Malacca, our little Jasmine girl fell asleep while in her mommy's arms. She must have been really tired huh! What not after being carried by mommy and daddy for more than 2 hours. Unlike her Jordan kor kor who could run around here and there exploring the Malacca Fort...Jasmine could only watch. However she must have enjoyed being carried around until she was asleep.

My wife noticed little Jasmine was already sleeping while we were walking back to get our car. All the carrying must have made her really exhausted huh. Ha :D My wife was really, really happy to discover little Jasmine sleeping in her arms. This was the very first time she slept while being carried. The joy and bliss of motherhood can be seen clearly on my wife's face. We, especially my wife, will cherish this priceless moment. Aww...we are truly blessed to have Jasmine girl in our lives. :)

Exploring The Historic City of Malacca With Our 2 Babies [PICS]

Today is a public holiday for all Malaysians because it is Wesak Day. Hence both my wife and I don't have to work. As we wanted to have a memorable day today, we decided to pay some of the historical sites in Malacca a visit. It was a lovely day to say the least with both our babies in bubbly mood. The weather was cloudy, which was really perfect for us to be walking around in the heritage sites. So off we headed to meet "history" face-to-face...to roam around in the heart of the Historic City of Malacca. :)

We parked our car opposite the newly-built Casa Del Rio hotel. All of us were really excited with this expedition of ours, especially Jordan boy. He was so eager to walk around on his own...of course we had to hold him tightly. We walked along the Malacca river, overlooking the famous water mill. Jordan was curious when he looked at the river. Perhaps this was his first time seeing the river from such a close distance. Soon we were walking across the bridge looking not without looking at the people lining up to eat chicken rice balls. Ha :D

So our first historic contact of the day was the Malacca Fort. It is a majestic fort which was rebuilt 4 years ago. We brought both of babies to explore the "inside" of the fort where canons were waiting to be fired. Jordan was ecstatic to look at those Dutch canons. After a while, we went to admire the Queen Victoria's Fountain which is just in front of the red Stadhuys building. Again Jordan boy was really happy to look at the fountain. Why? Because he wanted to play with the water...in the end...we had to drag...yes DRAG Jordan boy away from the fountain. Ha :D

So this how they used to bake bread huh?

We left our final historic footprints at...can you guess? The Stadhuys Museum. My wife and I thought it would be really fun and not to mention very educational for both our babies to explore the enormous Stadhuys Museum. Entrance fee for both of us adult was RM5 each. It was worth it. Jordan enjoyed walking around the whole museum humming to his favourite Incy Wincy Spider song; likewise Jasmine loved being carried by mommy dearest. There were so many artifacts, historical document etc. to look at. I have snapped at least 200 photos in the museum. Awesome!

It's time to go home. Shhh...she is tired. :)

This exploration of ours took around 2 hours. My wife and I decided to call it a day as both our babies are tired, especially little Jasmine. We walked back to our car and off we headed home. On our way home we made a detour and bought the famous coconut shake to slurp on. Haha :D We really love our historical outing today. Although we were only "loitering" around, we really enjoyed the time we spent together as a family. :)

Finally a new galaxy is here...introducing Samsung Galaxy S3 which is is inspired by nature, designed for humans! I really love the smooth-edged, pebble like design of Samsung Galaxy S3 which makes it really beautiful. Perhaps one of the main reasons that Samsung is able to keep Galaxy S3 so feather light is because it is made of polycarbonate with "hyperglaze" (something that HTC One X is lacking) coating.

Do note that 4.8inch HD Super AMOLED display of Galaxy S3 is cocooned in the ultra-durable Gorilla Glass 2 which provides better viewing angle. Now we can see the other person more clearly at the other end when are are skype-ing. At the bottom, sits a physical home button which is flanked by capacitive menu and the back menu. It's about time that Samsung should be unpacking their latest smartphone to replace its award-winning Galaxy S2. So how will the next Galaxy S3 look like? Will it look radically different from its predecessor? It is rumored that Galaxy S3 will be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4 Quad processor which consumes 20% less power. The Sacred Clear Water Garden @ Taiping

A day after meeting the largest Tua Pek Kong I have ever seen in my life, we visited yet another temple. This time we didn't have to drive 100km to visit this temple. It is located right in Taiping, itself. Actually it was in a housing area. I guess they used 2 or 3 houses to build this temple. The name of this temple is Qing Yun Tan Qing Shui Temple (清云坛清水). A lot of people have come to this temple to seek for blessings and divine help in their lives. Again my wife and I didn't really offer our prayers using the joss sticks as our hands are full with our 2 babies.

Welcome to Clear Water Garden

However the main attraction of this temple lies in its sacred Clear Water Garden (清水园), which is directly beside the temple. Although the garden is small, you will feel so at peace. The ambiance of the garden is so sacred that you can feel its purity. Undeniably this Clear Water Garden must have been built according to all the Feng Shui rules etc. Inside this garden you can see a Wu Yun Bridge (五运桥) which is supposed to bless you when you use it to cross to the other side of the garden.

There is this "lake" ~~pond~~ whereby a magnificent celestial being is residing-Dragon Turtle. Do you know that it symbolizes courage, determination, fertility, longevity, power, success, and support? Wow...so to have your photos taken beside this Dragon Turtle with bring one lots of fortune huh! Besides, you will not miss a huge love-shaped ROCK in the garden. It is inscribed with the word "fate" (缘). So I guess those who wanna get hitched asap should come and touch this huge rock. LOL :D

Then we saw something very interesting...a Vacuum Tower (真空塔). I have no idea what is the purpose of this tower at all...to suck out all the bad karma in you once you touch it? I sure hope so. We took some time to rest beside the beautiful Clear Heart Pond (清心池). I really enjoyed myself in this Clear Water Garden. No doubt that it is small...but I really, really feel so relaxed when I am in this garden. It soothed me...as if I am being healed and invigorated...aww...How I wish I can set up such a garden in my new home.

Strolling With My Jordan Boy Along The Riverbank

As usual, I will bring Jordan boy out for his evening stroll. This evening, I decided to bring him to somewhere different. So he felt weird when we didn't take our usual route; Jordan boy knew that we were going to somewhere rather far...the road not taken (by him)...then again he still enjoyed his stroll. But after a while...he got tired. He stopped and hugged my leg, signalling me that he wanted me to carry him, which I did. Poor thing huh! However once we were nearing our destination, he immediately wanted to get down and walk on his own.

Jordan boy~do you know where are you right now?

I am sure Jordan boy couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a river. Yep. I brought him to a den near our home. The riverbanks are so green...decorated by bushes and trees. Jordan boy was ecstatic to see so many people there...there were a few people fishing, playing football, playing cricket with a plank and a takraw ball...some were even sleeping. Guess they really love the riverbanks huh! I let Jordan wandered around for 10 minutes before I brought him home.

Along the way home...Jordan boy stumbled upon a road bumper, which he loves so much. He kept on going on and down from the bumper. Since there was no vehicles at all...I allow him to explore. Too bad I didn't snap photos of him conquering the summit of the bumper. Ha :D I actually had to interrupt his "hiking" session and dragged him away from the bumper...can you imagine it? We reached home after walking for approximately 10 minutes.

I really enjoyed my time with my Jordan boy. I can spend all my time with him. I wonder if he will remember this special day as he is not even 2 years old. At least I do. Ha :D Hopefully my daughter will be able to walk soon. Then my wife, Jordan boy, Jasmine girl and I can fly kites together. Isn't this a good idea? We can even fish together beside the riverbank. :p

Tua Pek Kong Temple @ Pasir Panjang, Perak

My father-in-law really knows where's the most happening places in Perak. So the other day when we were in Taiping, he suggested that we visit one of the latest attractions in Perak-Tua Pek Kong Temple (霹靂巴錫班尖海邊仙祠大伯公苗及觀音堂) at Pasir Panjang. We were of course very delighted as it was our first time hearing about this relatively new landmark. It is after all a huge temple with beautiful sculpture garden, making it even more appealing to us. After eating our breakfast, off we headed to Pasir Panjang to meet all the deities.

Too bad...I didn't go in to offer my prayers. Too many people...

Honestly...even my father-in-law didn't know how to get to this new Tua Pek Kong Temple. Ha :D So we needed quite a lot of help from the locals before we finally reached the place. We pulled over at least 3 times I think...thank goodness we managed to arrive safely at the temple. I love our 2 hours' journey to the temple. We had to zig-zag through a hug palm oil plantation before we reached Sitiawan. Along the way we also spotted gargantuan aquaculture farms which was truly a sight to behold.

When we reached the Tua Pek Kong Temple, it was already 12:30p.m. It was so scorching hot on that day. Upon arriving, hundreds of cars were already lining up outside the enormous majestic temple. I guess there were thousands of devotees and tourists flocking the temple on that day. Then only I realized that it was the Goddess of Mercy's birthday, that was why the temple was virtually full! Talking about timing huh. Having said so it was really hard for us to move around in the temple.

So there are a few sacred caves.

The whole temple was so crowded that my wife and I decided not to offer our prayers, instead we waited outside for my father-in-law and sister-in-law. However we couldn't resist not taking any photos of this beautiful temple featuring an amazing sculpture garden right? So we did manage to buy some time to snap some photos here and there. I personally love the whole temple. All the sculpture looks beautiful. However non can be compared to the huge, gargantuan Tua Pek Kong statue sitting majestically, facing the sea. It was certainly breathtaking to be standing in front of Him. :)

All in all, it was an exciting adventure for us, especially for Jordan boy and Jasmine girl. It was an eye-opening experience to be there. The whole temple, along with its assemble of statues, will certainly make your jaws drop regardless of whether you are a devotee or not. So you should travel all the way to Pasir Panjang to visit this Tua Pek Kong Temple? Definitely. My only complain is that there are not enough greenery around the temple. They should have planted more trees to cool the the temple. :p

Damn majestic right?

I am hoping that I can visit this temple again to snap more photos on my next visit. By then both Jasmine and Jordan will be bigger and will be able to pose for me. Haha :D So I will have more time to capture all those priceless photos and videos. Until we meet again Tua Pek Kong...hopefully next time around our timing will be better. :)

Malaysian Police Killed A Demonstrator In Bersih 3.0? [Pics+Video]

As most of us Malaysians have known, yesterday was the big day for our country as thousands gathered at respective places in different states to participate in the Bersih 3.0 demonstration. It was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration, urging to government to make our elections more transparent, fair and just. Some might see it as a great day for our country's democracy amid being treated with a choke-ful of tear gas...however it was a gloomy day for the family members of a demonstrator who was killed by the Malaysian Police...a tragic day for all Malaysians...

Correction...it should be...a police car (WAJA) lost its control and rammed straight into a crowd of Bersih 3.0 demonstrators. 5 people were unfortunately knocked down in this accident. 2 of them were badly injured and 1 of the Bersih 3.0 demonstrators died due to broken neck and serious head trauma. OMG! Why did this happen? So far I can't tell whether the police driver did it on purpose to ram into the crowd or...(to be fair) he, himself was injured by the demonstrators who pelted object at him, causing him to lose his control over the car?

A police car was seen being attacked by the Bersih 3.0 demonstrators.

The police car then lost its control and rammed into the demonstrators.

there were people being pinned under the car.

So what really happened?

It is reported that the name demonstrator who was killed is Khairun Naivee. What will happen to his immediate family? Will they be proud of him championing Bersih 3.0 for the sake of democracy at the expense of his own life? Or they would rather, want him to stay at home with them? It's too late. Haih...why does such a tragedy need to happen? Why someone has to die? Is this the price that we need to pay? Then again did any of you have more information about this whole tragic accident? Is this for real? I have seen the videos (below) but I can't see anyone being pinned under the overturned police car...

Our Delicious Lunch @ Chili's MidValley

In my previous post, I told you guys that my family and I loitered in MidValley for 5 hours...of course we needed to refuel ourselves in between our taxing window-shopping expedition. LOL :D We needn't think too hard on what we wanted to eat because we had made up our mind to have something spicy that Sunday-CHILI'S! My sister-in-law was the one who suggested that we should dine in the famous Chili's Grill & Bar Restaurant. I have read so much review about Chili's...so I guess it was time that I gave Chili's a try. :)

Finally we are here Chili's!

We checked into the Chili's which is located in MidValley around 12 noon and we were pleasantly surprised that there was no other patrons yet. Yay! So we were the earliest to taste the Chili's on that sizzling Sunday. I have always loved to dine in a restaurant which is not too crowded for it will become rather stuffy...and not to mention noisy, once everyone starts to cramp into the same place. So it was really nice to be the early birds. Once we had comfortably seated ourselves, we waved at the ever-waiting waitress to have our menus.

Seriously...we had a hard time trying to choose what we should eat. We were totally clueless on what should be on our plates...burgers? Steaks? Sandwiches? We had no idea at all...it was our first time patronizing Chili's so it was difficult to call the shot. After around 20 minutes or so...we were finally able to pinpoint our food for the day. By then...we were shocked...why? The whole Chili's was crowded already. So we were not alone after all...Our beverages arrived after 5 minutes. My wife and her sister had bottomless fruit juices while yours truly me? Coffee of course...cappuccino to be precise.

Aww...a great time to catch up with each other.

Of course we had to wait for our food to land on our table. So while waiting, I loitered around Chili's snapping some photos here and there for remembrance. The Chili's in MidValley is located on the ground floor, so you can choose to either dine in the air-conditioned Chili's or go Al' Fresco right outside of the restaurant, which is not bad either...if the weather is accommodating. Although Chili's is dimly lighted, it somehow feel very warm and cosy. Its "home sweet home" ambiance will make you feel so at ease. :)

Let's talk about food now, shall we? Our appetizer was the bottomless tostada chips. This was my very first time trying out tostada chip and I love how it tasted. The included Chili's in-house salsa made the chips taste much better. Up next was fish and chips. I think Chili's fish and chips is by far...the weirdest I have eaten so far. IMHO too much batter was used to fry the fish fillet, making it rather thick. Then again the fish and chips were fresh and succulent. All in all...not too bad.

We were surprised that Chili's actually threw in a complimentary kid's meal for little Jordan. Dubbed the Pepper Pals Grilled Chicken Sandwich, the portion of the meal was quite generous for our 21 months old little Jordan. Of course he could only eat a bit of it. The rest? We, the adults, walloped of course. LOL :D Last but not least was the amazingly delicious crispy honey-chipotle chicken crispers that I ordered. OMG! I enjoyed the perfectly fried crispy chicken a lot. The spicy and smoky honey chipotle sauce made the whole dish damn irresistible! Heavenly~I highly recommend this dish if you were to dine in Chili's.

All in all I really enjoyed feasting in Chili's. It was a great dining experience and I truly love the ambiance. The food was great...well...depending on what you order. Besides the fries...which was really too much and "redundant"...we have little complain about Chili's. However I think it is a bit pricey...then again my sister-in-law treated us...so no complaint. Ha :D So should you dine in Chili's? Definitely...you must try it for at least once. :)
