More than 60% Mobile Users in Rural India by 2012 Year

According to news which was published in economictimes.indiatimes.com online magazine, in the rural India more than 60% mobile users will be by 2012 year. It was published in report which was jointly released by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Ernst & Young.

The trends show in the rural area for mobile phones rather than landlines phones. About 100 million users of mobile phones are from rural India which are 40% but the trends show that it will increase to 60% by 2012 year of the total telecom subscriber .

According tot the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), “In the first nine months of 2008, the four metros together added 10.3 million subscribers, while the rural areas added over 11.3 million.” The news was published by above mentioned online news paper.

Mobile phones users has increased in the third quarter of June in rural area from 13.72% to reach 70.83 million. The growth shows the real concept about the development of 60% mobile phones users by 2012.

According to Prashant Singhal who is the Ernst & Young telecom analyst said, “The majority of new wireless subscribers will emerge from circle B and circle C.” With a survey, India is the second largest mobile phones subscriber after China which has 300 million mobile phones users. It is estimated that by 2012 the total telecom subscriber will be 700 million in which 650 million will be wireless users. It means the market of telecom and wireless in India is in growing position.

The article title was “'Father' of mobile phones criticises iPhone” in that online magazine. The man is Martin Cooper who develop 1st mobile phone at Motorola in April 3, 1973. Recently, Martin Cooper had iPhone to use but he gave the phone to grandson because it was complicate to use.

Martin Cooper told, “A phone that's an internet appliance, an MP3 player, a camera and a whole bunch of other stuff doesn't make a lot of sense. You try to build a universal device that does all things for all people, and guess what? It doesn't do anything very well. We were promised affordable, ubiquitous broaband wireless for everyone. That promise is still just a promise. Where the cell sites ought to be is where the people are.”

The news further says with itself (telegraph), “However, Mr Cooper was full of praise for Google's Android open-source operating system for mobile phones, citing it as an example of the sort of open platform that would allow wireless devices to reach their full potential.

The first phone to run Android, the T-Mobile G1, goes on sale in the UK today. It makes its debut in a crowded marketplace dominated at one end by the likes of Nokia and Sony Ericsson, and by BlackBerry and Apple at the other. Apple recently announced that it had sold more than 13 million iPhones since the device went on sale in July last year.”

Motorola Inc, which is third largest mobile phones manufacturer company announced to unveils touch screen phone for US market. Recently, Google had announced to launch its 1st mobile phone for US market with T-Mobile and that was T-Mobile G1.

After the Google G1 mobile Nokia announced to launch its touch screen mobile phone which was 5800 Xpressmusic model and now the Motorola came with touch screen phone in US market. It is Krave ZN4 from Motorola which will sold on $149.99 after rebates to customers who sign a two-year contract with Verizon Wireless.

Motorola shares were up 7 cents or 1.3 per cent at $5.64 on New York Stock Exchange.

It means touch screen mobile phone now lead the market of mobile phone. Now, actual competition of touch screen phone in the mobile market after the launch of Google mobile, Nokia 5800 touch screen and Motorola touch screen Krave ZN4 mobile phone.

For Indian prepaid subscriber there is a good news. TRAI (Telecoms Regulatory Authority of India) announced on Monday that prepaid subscriber will get full talk time for their recharge voucher. Before it there are many charges like – processing fees, administrative fee etc. Now, customer would have to pay only administrative fees.

In India most population have prepaid mobile they are about 92% of all subscriber. So, to provide some benefits them TRAI has taken this step. It has one more thing done that all the life time subscriber will be contracted to recharge their mobile in 6 months in once to remain active. Before it it was in 2 months in once.

Full talk time will be activated from 15 September of the year. What happen really I don't know because there are many * (condition apply) here. Before it there was announcement of 1 Rs. Call anywhere but what happened exactly. Lets see what happen really.

In telecom industry specially mobile handsets has much fight because for user manufactures are fighting regularly to promote their product but there are still no one has dominance.

After Apple iPhone many have new project to launch new phone which has new look and new features. But in this process two are success still but not like iPhone that are Nokia and Samsung.

Like this there are also competition in networks. Networks are also going with manufactures which has new phone and new features in handsets. Like O2 in UK and Bhartin in India has been contracted with iPhone. It is a big achive by that networks.

Now, we think that for user there are some things? I don't think because they are in competition because they want dominance in a particualar market after some time it will be on their desire.

Rising demand for a wide range of telecom equipment, particularly in the area of mobile telecommunications, has provided excellent opportunities to domestic and foreign investors in the manufacturing sector. Some days before there was a news to banning research in Motion’s BlackBerry services but now on Friday economic times has announced, “India is not considering banning Research In Motion’s BlackBerry services at this point of time, the top official in the telecom ministry said on Friday.” It was coverage and headlines as recent news in the section of telecom.

About the services of BlacBerry Satchit Gayakwad the company’s spokesman for India said, “BlackBerry services were offered in India by four providers, Vodafone, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, and BPL Mobile. BlackBerry had 12 million customers worldwide in December.” Further Business Standard had explained that it had an estimated 400,000 subscribers in India.

Some days before there were news about an agreement of investment by Airtel about 100-mn Dollar. BSNL has also recovered over Rs 3,600 cr from subscribers. It is the story of booming in telecom industry.

Today in all news papers there was a head lines about value-added service charges which was charged by Vodafone-Essar to its subscribers without seeking their approval. This was big news and TRAI also had said a statement, “The authority had received complaints from the subscribers of Vodafone-Essar Mobile Services Ltd regarding provision of value-added services without consent.” For the mistake by the company there was an excuse, “technical error.” It was a big issue otherwise subscribers know how they are charged by these networks providers.

In this context there was others news by ET, “Korean electronics giant Samsung is luring major distributors of world’s largest cell phone player Nokia to switch side in its bid to double the market share to over 15 per cent in India this year.” It shows market war in telecom industry.
