It is no secret that Aamir Khan is a huge fan of the Mahabharata, and it is his dream to bring the story of the epic alive on celluloid. In fact, it is being said that after Thugs Of Hindostan, the actor will dedicate the next few years of his life to the Mahabharata series.

If a report in Mid-Day is to be believed, it will be Aamir's grandest and most ambitious endeavour, with a lavish budget of over Rs 1,000 crore. Apparently, Mukesh Ambani is all set to co-produce Aamir's dream project, and an insider revealed that it would be a "one-off" engagement.

The franchise, expected to be along the lines of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, is likely to have three to five parts, helmed by different filmmakers. Buzz is that international writers will be flown in to give their storyline a global appeal.

According to the grapevine, Aamir had to bow out of the Rakesh Sharma biopic titled Salute, as the Mahabharata series will take up the next decade or so of his life. The franchise is currently in the ideation and pre-production stage.

"My favourite character is Karna, but I don't know if I will be able to play him due to my physique. I may just have to play Krishna. I also liked the character of Arjun. He was the only person who asked Krishna why he had to kill his own people," Aamir had earlier told PTI.

Shriya Saran is finally married! Drishyam actress who went on to refute the rumors and clarified to a leading daily that 'It's false, I'm not getting married,' tied the knot March 19, in Udaipur, with her Russian boyfriend Andrei Koscheev.

There were reports earlier that Shriya got married in Mumbai and only Manoj Bajpayee and Shabana Azmi attended the affair. But clearly the wedding was not held in Mumbai and Shriya chose to book a palace in Udaipur.

On the professional front, Shriya has worked in Hindi films along with movies in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

She was seen in the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Zila Ghaziabad, however, her much talked about film was with Nishikant Kamath's Drishyam, in 2015, starring Ajay Devgn.

She featured in the British–Canadian film Midnight's Children, directed by Deepa Mehta which was based on Salman Rushdie's Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name, in 2012.

She got commercial success in the South with films like Pavitra (2013) and Chandra (2013). Shriya Saran was also seen in Nana Patekar's Tadka, a remake of Malayalam hit film Salt and Pepper and Telugu flick Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu.

Earlier we heard the news that Akkineni heroes Naga Chaitanya, Nagarjuna and Nageswara Rao Akkineni are together acting in a film under the direction of Krishna Vamsi.

Now the latest news is that movie launch will takes place on September 20th, apparently September 20th is also the birthday of Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

This mega movie is directed by Krishna Vamsi and produced by C Kalyan. More details of this project yet to come, however, nothing has come out officially.

Who Will Be September King Komaram Puli Or Robo

The Tollywood circuit has reached a crucial stage when it comes to the box office situation for this year. 2010 is ending in another quarter and the film pundits predict that this will decide the fate of the industry in terms of profit and loss.

There is a good reason for that as we see the line up of some heavy duty films. For starters, the month of September is going to be very critical and two giants would be vying for top honors.

On one hand, there is superstar Rajinikanth with his ‘Robo’ and on the other, there is power star Pawan Kalyan with his ‘Komaram Puli’. The film analysts say that the duo could be the clashing titans for September and are trying to figure out who will emerge as number 1.

For ‘Robo’, the plus points are its rich budget and promotion with big stars like Rajinikanth, Aishwarya, A R Rahman, director Shankar etc. On the other hand, producers Sun Movies are known for their exceptional promotion and business strategy.

On the flip side, they are dealing with a subject which is unfamiliar to the common audience and given the budget involved, extracting it would be a challenge. Another point is that it is a dubbed flick which usually will not have that originality.

As for ‘Komaram Puli’, Pawan Kalyan craze works and A R Rahman brand also has its influence. The audio is slowly picking up which is a good sign. The new beauty Nikisha is already creating a sizzle among the masses. But the setback is that the delay in announcing the release date is taking the interest out of the audience and the threat of other biggies like ‘Khaleja’ ‘Rakta Charitra’ also will hamper the box office.

As for us, we would hope that both movies get their due space and sufficient collections so that the industry prospers. For now, it is good luck and all success to both films.

All the curtains are down and the big curtain of 70mm is to go up welcoming Mega Star once again on to its screen. Tollywoods top chair chiranjeevi is ready to make a come back and mostly the official announcement is to come by on his birthday that is August 22, as per Ramcharan.

Speaking to a newspaper Ramcharan said, ‘Iam excited about dad’s comeback to 70 mm. Yes, he has agreed to make a comeback. Our efforts to make him don grease paint again have paid off and the King is back! ‘Maghadeera’ was dad’s 149th film. I will be producing his 150th. We will leave no stone unturned to make it a magnum opus. Although dad’s birthday is on August 22, things will fall in place soon since as we are working for a rock solid script.’

About the plan to start his own production company, Ramcharan says it with pride, ‘I want to launch my production house with a commercial flick and then I will do meaningful flicks.’ So, by every chance Cherry’s first venture as Producer will be Chiru’s historical 150th film! “Two writers from different parts of the country narrated the same story to me!! Is it coincidence or an international film I haven't seen”?? This is the tweet Rana posted recently.

It happens commonly in every Indian film industry and writers tend to get influenced or inspired by a few Hollywood or international films knowingly or unknowingly. Sometimes same kind of idea may be planted in the brains of different writers. But it has to be underlined that writers are seldom creating complete original lines. That is an evidence for Tollywood’s ‘bhaava daaridram’.

Tollywood writers at present are finding a need to think different and hence preying on international scripts. Even though they try to think different, and come up with original scripts, the producers are not getting convinced with the lines, as they need to target small section of audiences (just Telugus) and hence never tend to take bigger risks. Writers also should understand the things practically.

Hollywood is always in advantageous position with wide audience. They can experiment anything they wish. They can even make any of their wild fantasy or romantic dream on to the celluloid.

Even it runs in one part of the world, things get materialized. But writers should understand that only formula films (love+humor+action+sentiment+music) with compact screenplay will have definite scope for winning at box office, than the experiments in Hollywood style. But, how well the above ingredients are mixed with the contemporary taste of audience matters.

So, writers! Don’t give shocks to heroes and producers by narrating Hollywood lines to them.

Salman confirms Katrina split

It’s the end of another complicated chapter in Salman Khan’s always eventful love life. He said in a TV interview recently that he had broken up with Katrina. Sallu added that they were friends earlier and are now as well.

Meanwhile, it’s plain to see he’s now playing mentor to his new Bollywood muse - his ’Dabangg’ co-star Sonakshi Sinha. Sonakshi’s already signed another movie with Arbaaz Khan’s production company opposite Salman. And now Salllu has recommended her to his producer pal Sajid Nadiadwala for the movie ’Kick’.

Of course, Salman is the hero, and apparently Sajid had thought of casting Deepika Padukone opposite him. But Salman is supposed to have suggested Sonakshi’s name, and so she’s been offered the role.

Ramu In Tension Due To ‘Bodi Gundu’ Scene

It is known news that the film had its first share of controversy with the head tonsuring scene of an unknown actor in the film. Grapevine started making rounds that this had to do with the rumor that few years back, Pawan Kalyan was taken away and his head was tonsured by Paritala Ravi due to a land deal issue.

However, it now appears that this issue has got a bit messy. The word is that fans of Chiru and Pawan are not very happy with the scene. In this process, it is heard that director Ram Gopal Varma has arrived in Hyderabad to offer his personal apologies to the mega brothers.

But when asked about it, Ramu maintained that his trip had nothing to do with that and there is no connection to the scene and Pawan Kalyan. But reliable sources say that the scene will be deleted from the main film.
