Laws of Leon

Murphy has laws on many things, and the ones I read on nursing were a grade fair at best. In my time of nursing I believe I have learned a few things that could help every nurse. These are my laws as it relates to Nurses and their patients. You could even call these Guidelines if you prefer.

1. Nursing is a career choice, retirement is not needed.

2. Most nurses, nurse, but the biggest babies are in room 110.

3. It is never appropriate to grab a nurse buttock, unless she is your nurse.

4. When using the call bell, Don’t.

This is an Ode to Ms. Go-Getter. That black woman who makes it happen for her family; holding the family income until her guy gets back up. You know who you are. The single mother who is selling them items on the block, turning a dollar into a “brand new car”. Ya digg!!! I name inspiration as the many black females who I know that rise above obstacles. I’m talking Polly-Wolly who goes harder than anybody I know, she goes harder than me, and I go hard. I’m talking Karen Y. a young blood who speaks it and it happens. I’m talking my cousin Tisha B., I am always hearing a word about this young lady climbing to the top. I can’t forget my mother, started on her own, city girl making it happen in the country; no begging nor crying, just getting it!! So many, so many, keep doing what you do!!

Oh, you just had a baby, You’re a parent now. This means you have all the qualities that it takes to raise that child to NOT be just like you!!!!! Wait a minute!! Don’t boooooo yet!!!! I am only saying that the qualities your parents did NOT instill in you will somehow be instilled in your little one. So now I have to spoon feed you the truth!! Like a little bitty baby, I have to use terms like, “googoo for lady gaga.” Let me not be brash, I’ll pull back a little bit. Lets imagine that in a perfect world little junior will be just like his parents. And now lets imagine mother and father are productive members of society. Look at how wonderful the world can be. I apologize. I did leave ambiguity in this post.

I must be careful with this blog as that I do not wish to offend my friends. It is simple, If a man believes that it is normal to go against nature, should I then allow myself to trust this mans advice on any other topic that relates to the laws of nature. Follow my example: If a dentist told you that it was normal for pigs to grow wings and that pig wings should be a normal part of life, would YOU, the one who is about to have dental work done by this confused dentist; would you trust this dentist judgement as it relates to your dental health seeing that he is already confused on the basics of nature. Follow me clearly people. I left no ambiguity. Follow me clearly…… "If you have read this blog and think I am talking about dentist and pigs, then you should reread it again, only this time read between the lines."

I was on a dating site, (disclaimer: I was only on the dating site for research purposes, and to look at pretty faces.) While reading some of the post I notice that some of the women were looking for White/Asian/Hispanic men. And so I wondered, why was this? Why did the majority of these women want every race except the Black race. I noticed that the Black women also had a preference, it included white/Hispanic/Asian/ and maybe a Black. Except the difference with the Black women was that few not many, put (N/A) for preference. And so I began to ponder this. Why were Asian, white, Hispanic women making it very clear that even though they were single women on a dating site that they would rather remain single than to date a Blackman. Why were there some Black women that preferred white/Hispanic/Asian? And this is my conclusion, I conclude that; (well maybe you should contact me for that conclusion, I’ll email anyone who wants to know…..)

Chapter 12: A New Nurse For A New Time "WHAT EVERY NURSE MUST KNOW"

Chapter 12 7AM-7PM Continued 1. The Nurse finishes the telephone call and goes to feed patient F-6 but is halted because patient B-2 started vomiting severely.
2. The nurse goes to get vomit medication, but a scream from patients D-4 room stops her in her tracks.
3. Patient D-4 has escaped from the restraints and attacked the occupational therapist.
4. The daughter for patient F-6 complains that her father was not feed and that the food is cold.
5. The Nurse Manager would like to know what had the nurse so occupied that she could not feed her patient, nor treat B-2 for vomiting. The nurse can’t recall the events that transpired because its 2pm and she missed lunch. Here brain has no sugar reserves.
6. The Manager is becoming agitated with the nurse.
7. Nurse realizes that time is moving quickly and she must update her charts. The computers have shut down and her pen is out of ink. There will be no charting this hour. 8. The nurse runs to the rest room because her bladder is doing something very strange. The nurse finishes using the restroom only to realize there is no tissue in the stall.

What a day! What a day!

9. Code blue is called over the intercom. Patient G-7 was found unresponsive. CPR is started but patient G-7 has died. Nurse reflects over the day to insure all proper steps were taken. Oops, nurse forgot that the patient was listed as (DNR) do not resuscitate patient.
10. Coworkers are upset with nurse for adding extra work to their hectic day.
11. Nurse realizes that shift change is drawing near and that she must complete her charting on all eight patients. Nurse has a new pen and begins to chart.
12. Patient A-1 is once again calling for pain medicine. Nurse decides it is best to get pain medicine but before she can take it to her patient she drops it on the floor.
13. Nurse must now find a coworker to witness her waste this narcotic and get another dose. The narcotics count is showing a discrepancy.
14. She must call manager to fix it before she can continue with giving out medication.
15. Laboratory calls nurse to notify her of a critical lab for patient H-8. Doctor must be called and notified of this
16. The nurse remembers that she has more paper work to document than before. She has to document the death of patient G-7 also there is extra paper work for the code blue and the attack that occurred earlier with patient D-4.
17. The school has just called to tell the nurse that her son has been suspended for fighting. It’s almost time for the nurse to get off work. She begins to speed up her pace but while rushing, she accidently sticks herself with an HIV infected needle. To make a long story short, this is a typical day for nurses 3 out of 4 days a week. critical lab. As the nurse is beginning to call the doctor the fire alarm sounds, but it is a test. "There once was a nurse, who purchased a hearse and frowning is what she received. She couldn’t believe that the hearse was a curse; so driving became her disease"

No Cure! REALLY!! Hmmmm

Why is there not a cure for cancer/breast cancer? How many pink shirts have been sold? How much money is made from the pink revolution? Hmmmm. HBO in the Old Days!

I remember when I was a youngster. The tv's came with two knobs and the channels were picked up using "rabbit ears antenna's." Back in those days watching HBO was the "ISH." I would use my antenna and a few hand slaps to the side of the tv to get HBO from my neighbors paid subscription, it was trial and error. True, my tv had no sound and the picture was always scrambling, but that was all fine. Because back then you didn't need a clear picture nor sound. You could use your imagination and Make Up A Story, because the ending was always gonna be the same.

Everyone would agree that it is not wise to allow 18-24yr college students to carry loaded guns to class. College is the main place that mistakes occur. A law has been passed that now students can carry guns on campus. AT first I said this was beyond STUPID! I was correct. This is not stupid, this is EVIL! It is beyond just stupid. EVIL legislators or promoting evil idiotic laws to harm the innocent! A SHAME!!

disclaimer: Having a gun in the home is appropriate but not in the classroom. Have we learned nothing, but then again this is EVIL PEOPLE promoting this.

“What Would Rosa Do?”

Change can only take place when you become

frustrated with the present condition of a situation. I did

not like working as a trash man, so I made a change. I did

not like working as a chemist, so I made a change. Change

can look foolish to those who are on the outside looking in.

Some would say the current recession should motivate a

person to keep working a job they do not care for, but I beg

the difference.

I believe that when Rosa Parks decided not to give

up her seat that she was attacked, not just by whites, but

blacks also. The black people may have said that Rosa

Parks was trying to set them back another 200 years by not

giving up her seat. They may have said that Rosa should

be grateful to ride the bus at all. I am sure some blacks

called Rosa Parks a spoiled, arrogant Negro. They may

have said Rosa Parks was not doing God’s will by not

giving up her seat. “God wants everyone to follow the

rules, Rosa, and the rule is to sit at the back of the bus.” I

am sure Rosa struggled with her decision. She may have

gone home and thought, “Why did I not get up?” And then

she may have said to herself, “it is time for change and I am

not going to keep riding at the back of the bus.” When a

person is on the outside of a situation looking in, they can

only assume the cause of your actions. And if your actions

cause for change, then go do that.

You will often hear Whites or Asians even Blacks use the term lazy to define my people. Why? After hundreds of years of slavery, which is free work, maybe my people deserve to chill a little bit. But lets look at this logically. Blacks are the hardest working people you will find on this green planet. From the President down to the local drug dealer, when Blacks work in any profession, they will have to work harder than their counterparts. Black governors work to persuade Black and White voters of their competency and legitimacy. Black children work harder to overcome the stigma placed on them by ancient society.

Blacks are far from lazy. I would say Blacks are above the mediocratic curb. Blacks are doing what has never been done before. Yet the same people that call Blacks lazy are the exact same people that pay large sums of money to enjoy the talents of Blacks. I hear Black drug dealers are hard working criminals. I also know that White bankers and lawyers are hard working criminals. Is a million dollars any different depending on who has it????

We today are stealing memories and innocence from the younger generations. It angers me for older people to expose children to this real world. Many speak ignorance such as, "the child has to grow up one day." When this is done to a child, the light that they have soon becomes dim. They are not mentally equipped for the real world. Let children be children. We are giving up on the children as adults. We speak phrases like, "this new world is worser than times past." If this is the case MR and MRS PARENT then do you not believe that you are very much capable to raise a good child as that you are existing in this present time.

Children are individual souls. Many parents have began to believe they can ignore this part of the child. The child is a growing vessel that is easily influenced and enticed. You the PARENT are held responsible for this little soul. What happens when a parent allows a childs empty soul not to be feed with wisdom? No amount of food, nor toys can replace the void created in the child. I am angered by those Parents who believe they will somehow remain smarter than their child as if the "well" of knowledge ceased to be passed on to the children. They are similar to caged little prisoners who are thinking of sophisticated ways of escape. Bless these smart creatures.

A problem is only as big as we make it. Some things that we call problems are not even worth us giving it a second thought. We fight bigger issues in life than the small things we make big. Sometimes other people problems seem small to us but are big to them. We choose which problems to give gravity to.
