Si bien se dijo que sería una precuela, la productora se negó y finalmente se transformó en una cinta independiente.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;"><i>Uruguay</i><br><br>Se dice que cuando una película tiene el éxito suficiente como para ser recordada es cuando nace el remake. No se redistribuye, sino que al marcar un punto de partida en un género hace que el remake surja naturalmente.
Sam Raimi, padre de la película original, su ópera prima "Evil Dead" (1981), se fijó en el director uruguayo Fede Alvarez. Luego de varias conversaciones, la nueva película salió a la luz.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">Alvarez prefiere que se tome como una nueva película y no como un remake, ya que el objetivo es que vean una cinta integrante de la saga, pero no nuevamente la misma cinta.
Se trabajó con el objetivo de que funcionara por sí sola, que no dependiera de la original para que se entienda. Nuevos personajes, pero con el mismo espíritu de la original; esa era la premisa de Alvarez.<br> </span></div>
