The latest artificial intelligence (AI) computer program created by Microsoft has achieved something that no human has yet been able to – defeat Ms. Pacman.

The AI system was developed by Canadian technicians and implemented an approach known as Hybrid Reward Architecture in order to reach the highest possible score of 999,990. This easily surpasses the highest human score of 933,580, recorded by renowned arcade game master Abdner Ashman. The researchers decided on Ms. Pac-Man because it is known to be far harder to predict compared with the original Pac-Man game, and therefore presented a far harder challenge to crack.

Continual evolution

It’s not the first major AI breakthrough we’ve seen in 2017. Earlier this year, an AI computer known as Libratus comprehensively defeated four world class poker players at no-limit Texas Hold ‘Em, a popular format of poker that is commonly played in casinos all over the world as well as online sites like 888poker. If you’ve ever taken part in a game yourself, you’ll know that Texas Hold ‘Em is renowned for its complex betting strategies and game theory, which makes the achievement all the more impressive.

The gruelling series of match ups took place as part of a 20-day series and Libratus, designed by a pair of researchers from Carnegie Mellon University, won by a total margin of $1.7 million. All human players were left with a negative number of chips. The researchers say that this marks a major breakthrough in the development of an AI computer that is able to outperform humans in sophisticated game theory and, seemingly, intuition. The advances shown by Libratus could eventually be applied to other areas such as financial trading and political negotiations.

A brief history of AI success

Of course, the idea of pitting the wits of an AI computer against a game designed primarily for humans is nothing new. It all started with chess experiments as far back as the 1950s and 1960s, a time when top-ranked grandmasters were more than dubious about the ability of a computer to defeat even a novice player. This thought wouldn’t last for too long, mind you.

Following continual improvements in the latter half of the 20th century, it eventually came to pass that reigning world champion Garry Kasparov was defeated by the AI computer program named Deep Blue in 1997. This marked a tipping point in public perception of AI capability, and led to continual experimentation with other popular gaming formats. Over the course of the following two decades, AI systems have been able to champion games such as draughts, Jeopardy and even the infamously tricky Go, which was conquered last year by a team of Google researchers.

The future of AI

If anything, the recent feats achieved by Microsoft and Google will provide extra motivation to push the limits of AI even further over the next few years.

The real reason why these experiments are so fascinating is that they may help to pinpoint an approach to solving complex and exciting challenges in a far broader range of contexts.

Since its inception in 2009, bitcoin has quickly made a name for itself as a genuine currency which could one day be the sole method of making payments online and beyond. Each year since 2014, the e-currency has enjoyed a rise in valuation, and in June 2017 it hit its highest point yet at USD$3,000. This price spike coincided with Japan’s roll out of bitcoin-ready point of sale software in over 260,000 stores. With Asia’s biggest economic powerhouse now on board, the future certainly looks bright for the cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin was originally designed as a form of digital currency which would be best implemented in online transactions, especially for transactions between residents of different countries. The payments are simpler and faster than normal credit card payments, there is no need to take into account fluctuations between currency values – and it is also safe and secure. With huge industries like the online casino sector beginning to use the currency, bitcoin proved that it could be of great use in an online setting. In fact, some online casinos that are geared to global audiences are now preferring to use the currency exclusively. By reducing the fees incurred from credit card transactions, they can pass savings onto the customers in the form of attractive signup bonuses, and there are also a number of games such as The Angler and Sweet 27 which were made specifically to be played with bitcoin. Bitcasino is one such online casino, and it is available in multiple languages including the Japanese language.

Now that Japan has decided to bring bitcoin digital payments into a wide range of stores across the country, it is becoming increasingly more apparent that the e-currency could take over from traditional currencies in the real world in addition to dominating online spaces. Bitcoin payments using virtual wallet apps are just as fast as credit and debit card transactions, and negate the need to carry large sums of cash and change on your person. This will most certainly appeal to safety-conscious people. In fact, statistics show that 78% of all payments are done using some form of card. This highlights how there is market potential to replace these card payments with bitcoin transactions. When huge companies such as Starbucks offer discounts to customers who pay with the cryptocurrency, it is only going to help bitcoin’s popularity snowball further.

Although there are already a number of smaller businesses in the West that accept bitcoin payments, and an increase in the amount of bitcoin ATMs available on the streets, Japan could now begin to lead the way in terms of bitcoin transactions in the real world. The technology-obsessed nation is frequently on the front line of innovations, and if bitcoin gains fame there then it could quickly spread throughout Asia and beyond. As it stands, there is still a sense of experimentation taking place, with a degree of uncertainty as to what the best way to use the e-currency in bricks and mortar stores is. But once Japan figures it out, expect others to rapidly follow suit.

With over 25 millions of copies sold to date, Valve Corporation’s Counter-Strike has earned its reputation of being one of the most successful tactical first-person shooter (FPS) franchises in the world. Perhaps what helped the game draw more than 10 million active users every month is its unique and traditional gameplay. Even Counter-Strike Global Offensive, the latest installment of the series that was released in 2012, has defied adapting popular FPS concepts including automatic health regeneration, use of iron sights for improved aiming, and instant respawning of items among others.

Nowadays, being on top of Counter-Strike standings is almost an impossible feat to accomplish if you are just a beginner. This is mainly because of the unforgiving style of the game and the community already getting packed with elite gamers who honed their skills to near perfection over the years. Fortunately, there are some ways that you can do to easily master the game and make your way into the elite ranks. With a lot of patience and practice, these 3 effective tips and tricks for beginners will help you advance in the game.

1. Install the latest hack.

If you are are not comfortable in using a Counter-Strike cheat because you are worried about getting caught by the game moderators, then you probably haven’t heard of the latest version of Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS GO) hack from IWantCheats. The latest CS GO hack is written in advanced codes that still hasn’t been detected for over two years.

The most comprehensive CS GO hack on the internet, which can be yours at a very affordable price, is packed with amazing features that will surely level up your gaming experience. Aside from features that make you look like just another experienced shooter, the hack also includes a fast and smart aimbot for instant kills, glowing ESP for unlimited vision range, player warnings to always keep you on alert, and much more.

2. Configure your settings.

We all want to play the game in the most convenient way possible. First and foremost modification that you should do is to lower the default mouse sensitivity. This will vary on the type of computer that you are using. Doing this will surely improve your accuracy and will help you get clean headshots instantly. Turning off the “switch weapon on pick-up” option will also help you to improve your concentration and reaction time in the battles. And lastly, change the crosshair color to pink or other contrasting tones to help you get a clearer aim of the target. You can also change the keys to different commands to make it easier for you to control your character.

3. Get into aim training.

Quit running and gunning with low accuracy and start learning how to use your movements and to shoot with purpose. Always keep your weapon at head level and make it a habit to cover first before reloading your gun. It may take a lot of patience to do so, but learning the spray patterns of all your weapons will help you make use of your bullets with efficiency during continuous firing. Practice your aiming in some of the best CS GO maps and become a deadly shooter in no time.

The packaging for the Uqique voice recorder is a slipcover style box with the recorder itself snug in a foam bed when you slide open the box. Under the recorder you’ll find the accessories including a pair of headphones, USB cable and user manual. The headphones are just plain really, typical earbuds. The USB cable is odd, one side has a standard male USB connection while the other has what looks like a standard 3.5mm audio jack but the jack is used for both charging and data transfer.

On the top edge is a 3.5mm jack and a sliding switch for on and off. On the bottom are two buttons with plus and minus on it that was used for volume control. In between the buttons is a tiny LED that lights up red when charging and turns blue when charging in complete. The LED is also used to let you know the device has started recording but oddly it turns off even while it’s recording.

Conclusion

The Uqique voice recorder is a decent product overall, it’s very simple to use for sure, and it provides decent quality audio records.

The included headphones are ok I guess, nothing special, personally nothing I would use if I was using this as an MP3 player which you can do of course. It’s only 8gb capacity yes but that’s more than enough for a few hours of music for sure.

I don’t like the LED light as it doesn’t blink or stay on to let you know it’s actually recording. The LED comes on, blinks a few times and then goes off but yet it’s still recording until you switch it off.

I don’t like the USB charging and data transfer cable, I understand it but I don’t like it as it’s proprietary and if you lose it you won’t be able to do much with it.

The speaker works very well overall, all of the functions worked just fine, but the audio could be better as it can get distorted at high volumes. Read on to learn more…

The Review

Let’s stat with a video unboxing and then move on:

The packaging for the speaker is very attractive, I like the solid black with gold lettering, the speaker is packed with styrofoam and wrapped in plastic. Included is a micro USB cable for charging and a 3.5mm auxiliary cable, but no instructions were included. I did get the instructions later which made using it much easier, but even without them I figured most of it out.

The speaker is about 4” x 4.25” without the handle and then it’s about 2.25” thick. The front has a speaker grill and speaker of course behind that, below is the control panel with rubberized buttons for volume, mode, play/pause and power. These buttons are also used to set the clock and radio stations etc. The top of the speaker has a thick rubber handle to hold the speaker and carry it around with you.

On the bottom of the speaker you’ll see the subwoofer along with thick rubber non-slip feet.

Barely noticeable around the subwoofer grill is the FM antenna that you can unwind if you need a better signal.

On the top, under the handle, is a rubber covered panel with a button on the far left side that’s used for adjusting the LCD brightness and for setting the time. Under the rubber panel you’ll find the micro SD slot, micro USB port and 3.5mm auxiliary port.

The front or bottom panel is the LCD screen and it’s surrounded by a rubber border so you can stand it up. The LCD displays the time and radio station in bright red making it very easy to see in the light or dark.

There’s a clock and there’s an alarm and I set it and was very surprised by the sound, it’s a mixture of nature, birds and soft music, it’s just sort of odd, or surprising really. I’m not sure I’d want to wake up to that everyday, but I might get accustomed to it.

To test the Bluetooth I used it with my Windows 10 tablet and my Samsung Galaxy S6 Android phone. I could not get it to connect to the Windows tablet over Bluetooth no matter what I tried so I ended up using the auxiliary audio cable and that works fine, so I tested that without really meaning to.

The AW45 speaker connected over Bluetooth just fine to the phone with no issues, the controls for pause and play worked fine.

The sound is very good and clear but at loud volumes it can get very distorted especially with music that has heavy bass in it.

The clock seems to keep good time but I can’t figure out how to change it so it displays 12 hour time, it only displays 24 hour or military time. This isn’t a big issue for me as I understand it but I don’t think most people will care for it.

Conclusion

The AncordWorks AW45 speaker is very well made, it’s more than rugged enough to take with you wherever you go and I think that would include doing things like camping and hiking. The speaker is waterproof so you won’t have to worry much, it seems very durable so you’ll be fine packing it with your stuff and going outdoors or indoors.

The speaker does have clear sound except at high volumes and with heavy bass, then it gets distorted.

The clock and alarm work fine, except the alarm sound is a bit odd and may take some getting used to.

I don’t know how to change the clock from 24 hour to 12 hour format, not that big of an issue to me but others won’t like it.

LED lighting is the future I think, I’ve moved about 99% of all my lights over to LEDs, just some smaller nightlights need replaced yet, but all of my main lighting is now LED based and I’m very happy with it. One of the main reasons I moved to LEDs is the cost, they’re much, much cheaper to power than standard incandescent bulbs for sure. I’ve got kids and they still haven’t learned to turn off lights so LEDs help save some money I would think in that respect. I also like the color or light that comes from LEDs, especially the daylight colors. Today for review I’ve got an LED desk lamp from Aglaia, it uses only 7 Watts of power which is like a nightlight really but this lamp also has a built-in USB port for charging phones and tablets. The light features a flexible arm so you can direct the light where you want and need it and overall it’s a great lamp, small but yet more than bright enough for any use. Read on to learn more…

The Review

Let’s start with a video unboxing and then move on:

The lamp ships in a sturdy brown box with a picture of it on it and some basic information for you. When you open the box you’ll find the lamp packaged very well surrounded by styrofoam and wrapped in plastic. The lamp is fully assembled for you, but it’s flexible so it folds flat in that box. Included with the lamp is the power supply and user manual.

The arm of the lamp is very flexible, it bends up, down, sideways and all around so you can get the light just where you want and need it. The lamp is made of aluminum and plastic and there’s a soft silicone cover over the arm section so it can flex. I got the black color for review but it’s also available in white. The lamp seems very well made and sturdy and it looks nice really.

The base of the lamp has the Aglaia logo and a power symbol, the symbol is touch sensitive and you just touch it to turn the lamp on and off and adjust the level just by tapping it. On the right side is a USB port so you charge your phone or tablet or whatever and then the back is where you plug in the power adapter. The bottom has five rubber non-slip feet to make sure the lamp stays where you put it. The base itself is heavy enough that the lamp will stay standing, but not very heavy, it’s wide to keep it stable. The lamp of course connects to the base and there’s a hinge there so you can tilt the arm back and forth to the angle you need.

The flexible arm ends with the light section that has a diffuser over the LEDs to make the light a little softer which is supposedly better to use with computer and read with. There are 15 LEDs inside that can provide up to 380 lumens of light at the maximum settings which might not seems like much but I found it’s more than enough for a computer desk for sure.

I recently moved my sons computer to his room and he needed a lamp so I gave this one to him and he’s very happy with it. You’ll have to excuse his messy desk, he’s 16 and doesn’t care about things like that of course. The Aglaia lamp is small enough to fit on most any desk, my sons desk is small as there wasn’t much space in his room so this lamp is perfect for his desk. The lamp lights up his work area just fine, it illuminates the entire desk area so he can see everything he needs to.

Conclusion

The Aglaia LED lamp is a great choice for a small desk lamp, especially where space is an issue I think, it would be great for kids room or college dorm even.

The lamp is very well made in my opinion and it looks nice really.

The lamp features touch controls for easy use and even a USB port for charging. My son really likes the USB port as it’s right there to charge his phone while he’s on the computer.

The lamp uses very little power which I think most people will appreciate but yet provides more than enough light for any use.

I should also note that the lamp is discounted right now and sells for only $17.59 on Amazon, which I think is a great price for it.

Up for review today I’ve got a night light of sorts from a company called Weirdbeast and this light is what they call an ocean wave projector and it even includes various nature sounds to go with the moving water effect of the light. The light is an LED of course and it has seven modes along with four built-in sounds but you can use a micro SD card for your own music and sounds or you can use your MP3 player with the included auxiliary audio cable. There is a motor inside of the light that makes the lights move to create the moving water effects and it really does look like water. Read on to learn more…

The lights comes packaged very well in a nice looking box with styrofoam and plastic. Inside of the box is the light and a smaller box that holds a micro USB cable, 3.5mm audio cable, user manual and a remote control. The remote control has controls for power, lighting modes, sound modes, mp3 controls for play/pause, forward and back and there’s controls for volume, and timer. You can set the light to run for 1 hour, 2 hours or 4 hours.

The lighting section can tilt to help you direct the lights to where you want them. On the left side, near the bottom, is where the speaker is located.

On the front is the touch control panel with controls for backward, forward, volume up and down and power and then above that is the IR receiver for the remote.

On the back you’ll find the micro USB port for power, a micro SD slot and an auxiliary audio port.

On the bottom are four rubber feet along with the main power switch.

The top has a clear plastic covering over it but it’s textured to give the lights a wave like appearance. Down inside is the actual light which is attached to a motor that moves it around to create a wave movement effect. I could note the motor is silent, you can’t hear it unless you get very close and all the sounds effects are turned off.

There are 7 lighting modes or eight if you include off. The modes are blue, green and red all at once, green and red, blue and red, solid blue, solid green, blue, green and red alternating slowly, and then blue, green and red alternating fast or flashing really. There are 4 nature sounds included, seagulls and waves, bubbling water like a creek or stream with bird chirps, lots of birds close and far away sounding and then the last one is crickets and frogs maybe, or like wooded nature sounds, there is no off mode to the nature sounds unless you count turning the volume all the way down.

Volume can get very loud, there are 10 levels of sound including off, I was surprised by just how loud it could get really and so was everyone else in my house.

I should also note I have dogs and some of the sounds very much interested them.

Conclusion

I like gadgets and this is a rather cool one I think, just as is with the lights and nature sounds it’s great but the added ability to play MP3 files via the micro SD card slot and the auxiliary slot just makes this product that much better really.

Yes it’s plastic, but most everything is these days and it seems well made for what it is.

The sounds can get very loud which is good I guess, but it can get low for nighttime use as a night light. The nature sounds can be soothing at nighttime and there’s a decent selection of them.

All in all the Weirdbeast night light is a decent product for what it is, it would be great for kids I think.

I’ve always wanted a heat sealer and now I’ve got one, a portable and rechargeable one that works very well. This heat sealer is from a company called Willismart and it’s inexpensive but yet still worth every penny. This heat sealer can seal most any plastic bag quickly and easily.

The Review

Let’s start with a video unboxing and demo and then move on:

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a sealed plastic clamshell style package but that’s what the heat sealer comes in.

Once you get everything unpacked you’ll find the sealer, instructions and a very nice flat style USB cable for charging. Yes the sealer charges over USB, no batteries needed and it only takes about 45 minutes to full charge and you’re ready to go.

The sealer itself is very small, it could fit right in your pocket and won’t take up much space in your bag if you need to take it with you, the measurements are 3.8″x1″x1″. The top of the sealer does have the logo at the bottom and the top you’ll see a double arrow with the word start, this is where you line up the sealer with the arrows. The bottom of the sealer is mostly magnet so you could attach it to your fridge so it’s always handy.

The back of the sealer is where you’ll find the micro USB port that you use for charging. When charging there’s a blue LED inside that lights up and then it will turn red once charging is complete.

The sealer opens up and on the top half is a slider labeled ‘lock’ and ‘seal’. The slider slides obviously and you slide it into the ‘seal’ position which essentially turns it on. When you slide the slider into the lock position it locks the lid into place so it won’t accidentally turn on.

The bottom half of the sealer is the actual heating element and pad, the element is a thin strip of metal. The element doesn’t actually heat up until you apply pressure on the top pushing the bottom pad down, it only takes about three seconds to heat up and you’re ready to go.

I have to admit that it does take a few times to get accustomed to using it, you have to be careful really and slow. The sealer can seal most bags with no problems thick or thin but the thin ones it actually cuts them and seals them.

Thicker bags like those for chips won’t get cut but they do seal every well.

Conclusion

I have to say that I’m honestly impressed by this little product as it really works as it’s supposed to.

The sealer is small and very portable, you can easily take it with you hunting, fishing, or hiking to keep your stuff sealed and fresh.

The sealer does take a few times to get accustomed to using it, so don’t expect it to work perfectly the first or second time, you’ll need to figure it out really. Once you figure it out though, it works well.

I love the fact that it’s USB rechargeable so you can charge it from any computer or USB charger.

I like the Willismart heat sealer and it works exactly as it should.

Have you heard about Bitcoin recently? The market and the world is wide awake with cryptocurrency curiosity. Before you rush out and become part of the recent Bitcoin mania that has driven its price to record highs, you might want to take a step back and analyze this new-age financial instrument.

What’s so great about Bitcoin?

Bitcoin has seen a surge in popularity due to its independent, decentralized nature. What this means is that the Bitcoin price is not controlled by any government or central bank authority. This makes the cryptocurrency popular with anyone that is concerned with the current state of global monetary policy and the devaluation of global currencies as a competitive strategy employed by a nation’s central banking authority.

Bitcoin does not have any restrictions on its ownership, transfer, or sale. Many savvy investors have seen this as an opportunity to circumvent the banking system and avoid currency capital controls in place by their local government.

Bitcoin’s price is directly linked to market supply and demand. When Japan recognized Bitcoin as legal currency in April of 2017, a Bitcoin mania began in the far east that has seen the price of BTC rise by over 200% this year alone.

The market has adopted Bitcoin due to its anonymous nature, with no recording of ownership ever falling into government hands. However, being aware of the security around protecting your Bitcoin from hackers is essential. In the offline world, criminals may scan RFID chips to obtain your personal data for fraud, it is easy to remedy this issue with a RFID wallet from https://www.ibricraft.com, however, Bitcoin is exposed to a variety of virtual threats that are just as significant.

When you purchase a Bitcoin, you are issued a unique key code. If this code is lost, you will lose access to the Bitcoin indefinitely. Hackers have used this vulnerability to create malware that steals these codes when they are cut and pasted between programs or apps.

Bitcoins shady past

Bitcoin was developed in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamura. Interestingly enough, no-one knows the identity of this man. When the name is translated from Japanese to English, Satoshi Nakamura means ‘without face’, further adding to the cryptic origins of the world’s most popular cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin’s first commercial application was rather shady. It was the premier currency used by criminals to pay for goods and services on the notorious ‘Silk Road’ website that was shut down by the FBI in 2012.

Bitcoin is still the choice of currency for online criminals, as can be seen in the recent ‘Wannacry’ ransomware attacks that infected hundreds of thousands of devices all around the globe. The hackers demanded payment in Bitcoin, as the nature of the ‘Blockchain’ registry allows the owners of Bitcoin to remain anonymous.

Previous Bitcoin bubbles

Bitcoin is well-known for its volatile pricing. When it was first released, Bitcoin was valued at $0.99 cents. The first Bitcoin bubble emerged in late 2012 and saw the price rise to surpass an ounce of gold for the first time, breaking through $1200 an ounce.

The bubble bursts shortly thereafter in 2013 when a Bitcoin exchange based in Japan, known as Mt. Gox, was penetrated by hackers and their entire holdings stolen. The Bitcoin price plummeted down to $200 within days and stayed there for much of the following two years.

In 2015, Bitcoin once began its meteoric rise to new price highs as Chinese oligarchs learned of the ability to use Bitcoin to circumvent capital controls imposed on Chinese citizens. Being that most of the Bitcoin mining power and the majority of Bitcoin exchanges are based in China and Japan, the mania began to accelerate well into 2017.

When Japan announced that it recognized Bitcoin as legal tender earlier this year, the price suddenly exploded, with some exchanges charging up to $4000 per Bitcoin. The Japanese and Chinese has realized that their governments are inflating the value of their currencies away with massive money printing operations known as ‘quantitative easing’.

Thus, the flight into Bitcoin could be just the beginning of the latest Bitcoin bubble, or it could be the beginning of the end. Experts are undecided on the fate of Bitcoin going forward. Some have argued that the technology is already obsolete, with newer cryptocurrencies, such as Ethereum, paving the way forward for cryptocurrency technology. Others still believe Bitcoin has tremendous potential upside in the near future and the price could triple before the end of 2017.

The future for Bitcoin

Whatever the future holds for Bitcoin is uncertain. One thing is for certain, mania’s do not last and bubbles burst, how long this current bubble has left to run is anyone’s guess.

Black note has always been working in order to remain true to their word. They sell splendid and alluring tobacco liquids which are actually authentic enough to be consumed by the people of our society. Their quality is truly astounding in such modern times as these days, the companies are striving to earn money only and certainly do not see the hazards of smoking.

In contrast to such established organizations, the Black note produces tobacco e-liquids which undergo through a series of long procedures, just to produce the exact quality which wouldn’t be harmful at all for the consumers. They use natural tobacco leaves in order to extract the powerful flavor which is greatly appreciated by the vape users. Such flavor cannot be attained by using the artificial flavorings and preservative, so people always make a choice of opting the highly reliable tobacco e-liquids prepared by the Black note.

Black note has produced many types of e-liquids and there are five certain blends which are really renowned. They are prelude, forte, sonata, legato and quartet. Black note sell their vaping e-liquid in childproof, tamper-resistant packages. The bottles are of 10 ml each, which are portable and can also be taken on airplanes in personal carry-on without any true hassle.

Black note products, when fully prepared, are tested in perfectly capable labs by professional people. On the other hand, many of the companies do not really offer any type of substantial proof or evidence regarding the authenticity of their products. There is no guarantee of whether they have used any artificial flavors or not. However, Black note provides its customers with full warranty of their quality since they truly care for the people of this society and back up their statements with full-fledged lab report.

Black note only makes use of the high quality leaves, which are backed up by high end-growers. They are really sincere with their work hence they offer their growing customers with the exact quality and flavor for which they are looking for. For the high end capers who love to wander about with new capes and try new kinds of tobacco e-liquids, they should immediately switch to Black note in order to fill their niche with this high end quality brand.

Tobacco e-liquids tend to come out a bit too bitter or out of taste if not taken care of correctly. Black note can assure people of their flavored since they go through the long process of six weeks. During it, many dedicated workers of this company bring out the exact true essence of the flavors which are greatly appreciated by the customers.

Black note has seen to it that their brand and its tobacco e-liquids are available in at least the key markets. Being one of the most preferred choice of people tends to gets a lot more tricky so by making their product range available to a large population, they are actually making their position stable in the market. Black note is easily available across the whole Europe and the key markets across the globe as well.
