I saw items to make the Polaris street legal (didn’t even know that was an option!).  I also saw security systems, which makes sense to me.  I know UTVs are expensive so you’d want to secure your vehicle.  I also see doors and cages and roofs and enclosures to keep you nice and sheltered in bad and/or cold weather.

So I would love love LOVE to be able to take charter plane service for our almost annual trips to Florida from NY.  Actually, we’re going twice this year – August and December, for Christmas.  I could just dope up my husband, push him on the plane and not worry about annoying an entire plane-ful of already-annoyed people with two kids that I have to handle on my own, as well as an either doped up or frantically anxious husband.

Just think of it – no being moved like a cattle through security, not having your knees up in your face and not waiting on that inevitable jerk who can never be at the plane on time!

It was interesting reading an account of the government’s treatment of the American Indians that really does show the whole affair in the negative light it should be put into.  Growing up, we never learned much about what the US government did to the American Indians.  I also appreciated learning about another tribe I had never heard of before.

What captivated me about this book was the seeming deadlock that it nearlys ends in.  Shiloh cannot give up God and Jesse cannot give up his Indian blood.  Shiloh is so willing to compromise but just needs Jesse to relent  and allow her to continue to practice her faith.  I have to admit that the “forbidden love”/”come from two worlds” aspect that continues through many great love stories really held my interest too.

As usual, I also enjoyed reading about the daily day-to-day tasks that must be undertaken to keep a household running.  I especially liked the description of what Jesse and Shiloh did to survive while on their journey back to Shiloh’s family.  I learned about making tea and bannock bread as well as how to take care of a wound and transport that wounded person.  It was educational but still entertaining.

If you like detailed historical fiction, then you will like A Love Forbidden by Kathleen Morgan.  You can find it for sale via various online book retailers.

Roadtrips are fun but planning them isn't!  It seems such a downer and sucks the spontaneity out but when you have kids or special needs, then you do need to plan a bit.  Thankfully, nowadays, we don't have to drag out the atlas and can ask the Roadtrip-a-Matic to help us with our roadtrip needs!

Our favorite state for roadtrips is definitely Pennsylvania, so I'm so glad to now have a guide to tell me where to stop for attractions and where to eat and stay.  All I have to do is pick out my interest and region of the state, and the Roadtrip-a-Matic tells me what to do  (I only wish regular life was this easy!).

I have never seen any Civil War battlefields but always wanted to.  While it isn't a top priority for a couple's getaway, I'd love to someday take the "Follow Me to 1863" Civil War tour.  This tour not only stops at Gettysburg but tells the story leading up to the infamous battle with tons of other stops.  I think my husband and I would enjoy learning more about our nation's history that played out so close to us.
