Cause: The .NET Framework is either missing or has not been installed correctly.

Cause:  Missing or corrupted files or insufficient permissions

Solution:  Try Microsoft's KB 838857 solution to fix the error

3. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000152)

Cause:  Missing Visual C++ files

Solution: Download and install the latest or required Visual C++ package for your computer

4. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006)

Cause: The .NET Framework is either missing or has not been installed correctly.

Solution:  Download and install the latest or required .NET Framework pack for your computer.

5. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022)

Cause: User does not have sufficient rights or permission to run the file

Solutions:

- Locate the DLL or EXE file, right-click and select Properties, click the Security tab, and add yourself as the user or change the permissions.

- Setup the  MSVBVM60.DLL file correctly

- Enable sufficient rights for the affected DLL file

6. The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b)

Cause: User does not have sufficient rights or permission to run the file

Solutions:

- Try re-installing the different versions of .NET Framework installed on your computer

- Try the tips suggested here

Other solutions to consider:

1. Try reinstalling the problematic program:

Uninstall the program completely, download and install the program again on your computer

2. Upgrade your RAM:

Some memory intensive applications can be too much to handle on your PC and may fail to load. Upgrading the RAM helps add more memory to your PC.

3. Run the System File Checker:

What is the Background container.dll error?

This dll file is a part of a search toolbar developed by Conduit and has been known to cause problems.

Here is an example of a RunDLL error that says the Background container.dll file could not be found on your computer.

STEP 1: How to fix the Background container.dll error that appears at every startup:

1. Go to Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools
2. Double-click and open Task Scheduler and click on Task Scheduler Library.

3. Look through the entire list for an entry related to BackgroundContainer.
4. When you find it, right-click on it and select Delete.
5. Close the window, exit all programs and reboot your computer

Didn't find the entry is your Task Scheduler?

No problem.

You can use a free tool called AUTORUNS to scan your computer and help you locate and delete any references to BackgroundContainer.

STEP 2: Removing all traces of the Conduit Search toolbar

1. We recommend that you open you Internet browser (IE, Firefox or Chrome), browse through the list of add-ons and disable/remove any references to Search Protect by Conduit or Conduit Community Toolbar.

2. Run a free scan for malware to ensure that your PC is secure and free free from threats and unnecessary toolbar programs. We recommend using the free download of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - it's a very popular and reliable program!

Hello Outlook users,
In today's guide, we show you how to fix the problem of Email Images not being displayed in Outlook.

Problem #1 : Images are blocked in all my emails

Solution: Follow this checklist to unblock Images in Outlook emails

Problem #2 : Pictures cannot be displayed and are shown as red X in Outlook

Solution: You need to find out if the path for the OutlookSecureTempFolder is valid and fix it.

Here's how you can fix it:

1. Make sure you close down and exit Outlook completely

2. Go to Start, click Run, type in regedit.exe and hit Enter.

3. In the Registry Editor window that appears, navigate to the following location:

Office 2013: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Security
Office 2010: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
Office 2007: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security
Office 2003: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security

4. At this location, check the path of the OutlookSecureTempFolder by copying it and pasting it in the Windows Explorer.

If you find that the path is invalid, right-click on OutlookSecureTempFolder entry and Delete it, close the Editor.

5. Restart Outlook and it will recreate the value and a new SecureTemp folder

Outlook will now be able to store and display the images included in your emails.

Problem #3 : I only see a rectangular outline of the images that should be displayed

Solution: You need to need the Picture Placeholder option of Outlook.

Here's how you can disable this option:

1. Open Outlook  and click the New Email button or press Ctrl+N while viewing the Inbox.

2. Go to the new message's File, Options dialog.

3. Click Mail, then Editor Options

4. Select Advanced and look near the bottom of the dialog for the option to Show Picture Placeholders. Uncheck and OK.

5. Close the dialog then close the message.

Additional Tips and Solutions:

1. Checking the Temporary Files Folder

One cause of images not being displayed in Outlook is because the Temporary Internet Files folder has become corrupted. Cleaning it up is a quick fix to such problems. Here's how you do it:

- Open Windows Explorer, go to Folder Options and enable viewing of Hidden Files and Folders
- Next, navigate to the following location:
C:\Users\*Your Username*\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\
- Right click on the Temporary Internet Files folder and choose Delete.

And you're done!  Mind you, this also deletes temporary files created by other Office applications but that's not a problem.

Quick Tip: Here's a great tool to cleanup your Outlook's temporary folder: Outlook TempCleaner

2. Displaying Embedded Images

In later versions of Outlook, you may see a red x if the image is not embedded in the message.

To fix this, you need to use the Registry Editor (described above) to head to the location specified below:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
DWORD: Send Pictures With Document
Value: 1

Changes to be made: Add a value of 1 to Send Pictures With Document or change the existing Send Pictures With Document value to 1.
