To take your minds off the negative, harsh comments made by that old loser over on Fake FOX News, I thought I’d post this rarely-seen footage of Michael Jackson and a close friend dancing to R. Kelly’s hit “Ignition” while sitting in a Miami traffic jam.

It’s great to see the King of Pop in a different light. Rest in peace, Michael.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa

The mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa, wants fans of Michael Jackson to donate some money to the cash-strapped city, which spent millions on police protection and more for Jackson’s public memorial yesterday. From MTV:

Yesterday’s Michael Jackson memorial was an impressive undertaking, with nary a security or logistics problem in sight. As Sway said in his recap yesterday, “The city of Los Angeles should be proud of itself for dealing with all the chaos.”

But it wasn’t cheap. Officials estimate that the cost of security, transportation and various other fees totaled as much as $4 million. It’s no small chunk of change, especially considering the city is in dire financial straits and that the city had to reach out to private donors to cover the cost of the Lakers’ victory parade a few weeks ago (an event with a $2 million price tag).

This time around, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is reaching out to the public to help defer the cost of yesterday’s event. They’ve even gone as far as setting up a PayPal account so people can make cash donations of any size. “Help the City of Angels provide the extraordinary public safety resources required to give Michael the safe, orderly, and respectful memorial he deserves,” Villaraigosa writes. “If you’re a Michael fan, consider giving a small donation to help us celebrate his extraordinary life and music.”

David P. Santuomo

In today’s WTF files, David P. Santuomo, a fool firefighter from Columbus, Ohio, is facing jail time and the possible loss of his job after killing his two dogs instead of paying for their care while he went on a cruise.

Santuomo apparently took his dogs, Sloopy and Skeeter, to the basement and hanged them from the pipe. He placed a makeshift silencer on his rifle and fired around 11 shots at the dogs. He then wrapped their bodies in plastic and threw them in a dumpster behind the fire station where he worked.

Apparently, this loser committed the crime back in December. Reports say that he bragged about the crime, but after telling his fellow firefighters what he did, they turned him in.

He only faces a 90-day jail sentence, and he may lose his job.

Didn’t Michael Vick serve way more jail-time and lose everything but his life for organizing illegal dogfighting rings? Well this guy should certainly face much more punishment for these despicable acts.

He better watch out for PETA — they’ll beat his ASS!

In a recent interview, rapper/TV personality Lil Mama compared Michael Jackson’s death to that of Jesus Christ. Uh, has she been popping pills along with her lip gloss? I have love for Lil Mama, but that statement does make you raise your eyebrow. What do you think?

The public memorial service honoring Michael Jackson took place today at the Staples Center out in Los Angeles. The service was broadcast on the major networks along with CNN, CNN International, E!, BET, MTV, VH1, and others, as well as online at sites like Hulu.com and on the CBS and CNN websites. Experts have said that the TV audience for the memorial may have reached 1 BILLION viewers.

The service was incredibly moving. It was very well put together and full of amazing tributes and performances. It was truly a fitting farewell for the undisputed King of Pop, who I’ll go as far as calling the King of Music.

If you missed the memorial, I hope you’ll be able to catch a re-airing. It really went beyond Michael; there was so much said that was touching and needed to be heard by all the world.

You knew it was coming — here are the latest news updates surrounding the death of Michael Jackson.

A public memorial service is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 10 a.m. PST, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, following a private service at an undisclosed location. Fans will have the opportunity to register for free tickets to attend the public memorial, with 11,000 tickets said to be available. More information on how to register for the tickets will be announced tomorrow.

It was also announced today that a hearing to decide if Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson, will remain the temporary guardian of his three children has been pushed back a week by a judge.

Debbie Rowe, Michael’s ex-wife and the mother of his three children, is said to have told KNBC in Los Angeles that she “wants her kids.” Michael’s will nominated his mother as the guardian of his children and nominates Diana Ross as guardian if his mother were unable to take over guardianship.

Rowe is intentionally left out off the will.

Now, on to what made him the King of Pop — the music.

Michael Jackson is reported to have broken multiple records this week on the Billboard charts. Albums featuring Jackson will take up the top nine spots of Billboard’s Top Pop Catalog Albums chart, and he will have six of the top 10 spots on the Top Digital Albums chart.

His albums sold 422,000 copies this week, and he is rumored to have sold 2.6 million single downloads this week. Absolutely incredible.

I didn’t get a chance to post this premiere yesterday. Here’s Pleasure P’s video for his latest single, “Under.”

The video features The Game star Tia Mowry as the leading lady. Mowry updated fans on the status of The Game today via Twitter, stating that BET is very interested in the show, but they are currently waiting on CBS to give up the rights to the series.

Earlier today CNN released this footage of Michael Jackson in a dress rehearsal for his 50-date tour, which was to kick off in London in the next few weeks.

The rehearsal occurred just two nights before the King of Pop died of an apparent cardiac arrest.

He rocked this performance; the dance was great and those were live vocals — no lip-syncing at all. It’s still so hard to believe that he’s gone.

The video — directed by Kanye West — features Drake as the coach of an all-woman basketball team, but basketballs are clearly not the only things bouncing in this video. I’m just saying…

In other Drake news, the Canadian rapper is said to have just signed a multi-million dollar deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money label.

“Best I Ever Had” currently sits at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the Young Money cut “Every Girl,” which also features Drake, sits at number 10. He is the first unsigned artist to have had two songs reach the top 10 in the same week.

The former Degrassi star is definitely doing big things here in the States.
