Can it really be that easy? Well yes, thanks to the Ninite Easy PC Setup and Multiple App Installer. If you’ve upgraded (i.e. to Windows 7), had to reformat your PC, or just bought a new one then it can be quite tedious going through the traditional installation process of installing one application at a time.

Ninite lists a huge selection of free software and all you need to do is tick off the ones you want to install, then download the installer and run it on your PC (XP, Vista, 7). This will then download and install all the up-to-date version of the applications you selected. The applications are divided into the following categories: Web Browsers, Messaging, Media, Imaging, Documents, Security, Runtimes, File Sharing, Other, Utilities, Compression, and Developer Tools. I think that is pretty much all your needs covered and I probably don’t need to say anymore.

If you haven’t got an invite or you don’t want to subscribe then I have a work around for you.

Users in France don’t have to worry about getting an invite as the service isn’t yet limited over there, so what we need to do is sign-up and pretend we are from France. It sounds easy but obviously Spotify checks on our IP addresses so we need to do a few things to get around this.

Here are the instructions:

1. First go into www.hiload.org

2. Put https://www.spotify.com/en/get-started/ into the ‘Enter URL’ box and click ‘go’.

3. You will get a warning box, but ignore this and click “continue anyway”. You may sometimes be taken back to hiload.org but just try again.

4. Enter all your correct information but leave the country as ‘France‘ and put 69002 as your postal code (see image below).

5. Once you have registered then you can download and install the Spotify client.

6. You will then be able to log-in and set-up Spotify using your username and password.

7. All that is left is to change your country from ‘France’ back to your correct country along with the postcode. Do this by logging on to your profile and clicking on ‘edit profile’.

So instead of having an address like http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=728796132, you could have an profile address of http://www.facebook.com/ademdjemil which is certainly a lot easier to remember.

This option should’ve been offered to you immediately but many haven’t done this and probably don’t know how to do it if they dismissed the original message.

The simple thing is to go to www.Facebook.com/username and you will then be given the option.

www.facebook.com/username

You will also see that if you administer any fan pages (with over 25 members) then you also have the option to set a unique URL for these which is probably even more helpful (See FAQs). Pages are usually used for larger organisations or groups and in the past most people would direct people to these pages by asking them to perform a search in Facebook to find them, which is actually a very poor way of going about things.

So now you can give your pages proper URLs which should help with promotion and getting more fans. Please note that there is not an option to give ‘groups’ their own URL.
