Natural Disaster Relief and Effective Giving

The past few weeks have seen unprecedented natural disasters across the globe. Hurricanes Florence and Michael have devastated parts of the American south. Florence was the wettest storm to ever hit the Carolinas, causing an estimated $13 billion in damage. Michael was the strongest storm to hit the Florida panhandle, leaving hundreds of thousands without power and limited access to necessities. In Indonesia, an earthquake triggered a deadly tsunami that killed at least 2,100 people and forced tens of thousands to shelters. NPT has posted lists of on-the-ground charities that are providing assistance in each of the affected areas.
