&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;If you want to list current user uploaded video in drupal, use below code.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;Drupal brightcove module provides an option to &lt;/span&gt;store the Drupal username of the user who uploaded a video. &lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;You need to create this field(custom field) in brightcove before using this feature. &lt;/span&gt;Click &lt;a href=&quot;http://support.brightcove.com/en/video-cloud/docs/creating-custom-metadata-fields&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;here&lt;/a&gt; to understand how to create cutsom field in BC Studio.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;
&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzn2hamntEsRBKFTQ5buG-iYKi_DvFuAafutMqgrpgLOPzyBumpSeo1_5vGLxjEINFRqr0-Cl04BMx3TCE2Hu2mA08BDpwNtBW-HTzCn6GqFI7fMgRmpmzGFI88G79vRpdhK1Heghzgmme/s1600/brightcove.jpeg&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzn2hamntEsRBKFTQ5buG-iYKi_DvFuAafutMqgrpgLOPzyBumpSeo1_5vGLxjEINFRqr0-Cl04BMx3TCE2Hu2mA08BDpwNtBW-HTzCn6GqFI7fMgRmpmzGFI88G79vRpdhK1Heghzgmme/s1600/brightcove.jpeg&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Goto drupal brightcove configuration page and add this field name in &quot;&lt;b&gt;Brightcove Drupal User Custom Field&lt;/b&gt;&quot; field. Brightcove module automatically update drupal username in brightcove while uploading new video into video cloud. The below function will fetch all the videos which uploaded by the user. &lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.brightcove.com/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Brightcove&lt;/a&gt; video cloud, a cloud based video hosting and publishing solution. &lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Drupal&lt;/a&gt; is one of the most commonly used open source CMS.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
To integrates brightcove video cloud into drupal, drupal community provides one module called  &lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/brightcove&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Brightcove module&lt;/a&gt;. . Using this module you can add Brightcove video to your content and access the information from the Video Cloud in your site. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;
&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzn2hamntEsRBKFTQ5buG-iYKi_DvFuAafutMqgrpgLOPzyBumpSeo1_5vGLxjEINFRqr0-Cl04BMx3TCE2Hu2mA08BDpwNtBW-HTzCn6GqFI7fMgRmpmzGFI88G79vRpdhK1Heghzgmme/s1600/brightcove.jpeg&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzn2hamntEsRBKFTQ5buG-iYKi_DvFuAafutMqgrpgLOPzyBumpSeo1_5vGLxjEINFRqr0-Cl04BMx3TCE2Hu2mA08BDpwNtBW-HTzCn6GqFI7fMgRmpmzGFI88G79vRpdhK1Heghzgmme/s1600/brightcove.jpeg&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&amp;nbsp;In brightcove module they are using Brightcove Media
API and this APi provides various methods to retrieve properties from brightcove video cloud. But this module is mainly focusing on &lt;b&gt;find&lt;/b&gt; method. So here I am trying to explain how to use &lt;b&gt;search&lt;/b&gt; method in drupal. Search method is also a simple function to retrieve properties and information from Brightcove.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
To call search method we need to pass three arguments - method, terms and params&lt;code&gt;.&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;U&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;sing this &lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;metho&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;d we can &lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;search custom fields from bright&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;cove&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;. Here I&#39;m explaini&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;ng how to search custom &lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;fields value from brightcove using search metho&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;d.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/code&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;code&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;Below code&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/code&gt;shows how to search for a video with &quot;jobs&quot; in the title AND tags.&lt;code&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/code&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;code&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/code&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre&gt;&lt;code&gt;// Define our parameters
$params = array(
    &#39;video_fields&#39; =&amp;gt; &#39;id,name,shortDescription&#39;
);

// Set our search terms
$terms = array(
    &#39;all&#39; =&amp;gt; &#39;display_name:jobs,tag:jobs&#39;
);&lt;/code&gt;&lt;/pre&gt;
&lt;code&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: small;&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/code&gt;&lt;code&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/code&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;code&gt;&amp;nbsp;// Make our API call&amp;nbsp;&lt;/code&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;code&gt;$videos = $bc-&amp;gt;search(&#39;video&#39;, $terms, $params);&lt;/code&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp;Below code will explain how to search video with custom fields.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;custom field name is drupal_user and this field is used for storing uploaded user name&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;(Drupal Username)&lt;/span&gt; in brightcove.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre&gt;&lt;code&gt;// Define our parameters
$params = array(
    &#39;video_fields&#39; =&amp;gt; &#39;id,name,shortDescription&#39;
);

// Set our search terms
$terms = array(
    &#39;all&#39; =&amp;gt; &#39;drupal_user:jobs&#39;

Virtual Hosting is a method for hosting multiple sites/domains in a single server. It helps to reduce the cost and can share the memory and processor cycle. In local host also we can create Virtual host and we can call original domain name(production/live domain) from our development environment(localhost). Here I am providing the steps for creating Virtual host in Linux/Ubuntu workstation.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;
&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpU-WgRnZaBYSiQ8wZ_aHDVD8H6kutr6Gqfo8ozqvp-YUFeE6hptcIexh7Epa5wllmtwUayHL1SzJSGpW5ks3qIXBYn8_DnXmyj9SSfvKhUO3gv3zciaGRKsseoEzW1nuhoPZ5CvBIlnQK/s1600/ubuntu.jpeg&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpU-WgRnZaBYSiQ8wZ_aHDVD8H6kutr6Gqfo8ozqvp-YUFeE6hptcIexh7Epa5wllmtwUayHL1SzJSGpW5ks3qIXBYn8_DnXmyj9SSfvKhUO3gv3zciaGRKsseoEzW1nuhoPZ5CvBIlnQK/s1600/ubuntu.jpeg&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
i.&amp;nbsp; Assume your code resides at /var/www/yoursite&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
ii.&amp;nbsp; You can access your site using http://localhost/yoursite.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
iii.&amp;nbsp; Edit vhosts file in sites-enabled. sudo gedit /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/vhosts.conf.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
iv. Add below code in vhosts file&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&amp;lt;VirtualHost *:80&amp;gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
ServerName local.yoursite.com&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
ServerAlias www.local.yoursite.com&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
DocumentRoot /var/www/&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;yoursite&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&amp;lt;/VirtualHost&amp;gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
v. Open the file /etc/hosts in your editor.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
vi. Add below lines of code.
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
127.0.0.1 &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;local.yoursite.com&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;vii. Restart your apache server.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;viii. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;Access&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;http://local.yoursite.com to view your site in direct domain.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;background-color: #f8f8f8;&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

Normally date field is stored in database as timestamps format,  the number of seconds since 00:00:00 UTC on January 1, 1970. Some times the date represented as the number of milliseconds.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There is no default function available in PHP to convert this milliseconds representation to human readable format. In PHP &lt;a href=&quot;http://php.net/manual/en/function.date.php&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;&lt;b&gt;date&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt; function is used for converting timestamp format to local date/time format.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This following PHP function will convert milliseconds format to local date format&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
$milliseconds =&amp;nbsp; 1340562600000;&lt;br /&gt;
$timestamp = $milliseconds/1000;&lt;br /&gt;
echo date(&quot;d-m-Y&quot;, $timestamp);&lt;br /&gt;

We can redirect the site url to &quot;www&quot; prefix, whether the user is accessing the site without &quot;www&quot; prefix by adding rewrite url in .htaccess file in root folder.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
add following lines in .htaccess file to add www prefix.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px solid #ccc; padding: 6px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp;RewriteEngine on

In some cases we need to add browser specific css properties for the site, like separate css for IE 7 and IE8 to acheive the correct layout. To acheive that we can use different methods - 1. add custome CSS file for each browser and 2. Add custom properties in the main CSS&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;
&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXZZO51BUneBezzxlR-F6hEp0DBvklbp6o6eLQziRIqrMhcKBH0rOLVXhiJa14lTkI8iunYYgvcwXRVjLwSkPgU4gcMuUCZVAsoMSXP0gBv48Rlm7vIQznPtWaa1MhOIINszhTTYV10Ov3/s1600/css.png&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXZZO51BUneBezzxlR-F6hEp0DBvklbp6o6eLQziRIqrMhcKBH0rOLVXhiJa14lTkI8iunYYgvcwXRVjLwSkPgU4gcMuUCZVAsoMSXP0gBv48Rlm7vIQznPtWaa1MhOIINszhTTYV10Ov3/s1600/css.png&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here I am specifying how to add separeate css properies for Chrome, IE 7 &amp;amp; IE8 in the main CSS file.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Chrome&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Google Chome is the fast growing web browser. Some times the site layout will break and need to alter css property for this particular browser.&lt;br /&gt;
To fix CSS issues for Chrome use body:nth-of-type(1) .elementOrClassName{property:value;}.&lt;br /&gt;
Eg: body:nth-of-type(1) .sitename{margin:20px;}&lt;br /&gt;
HTML&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;div class=&quot;sitename&quot;&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
IE8&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For IE8 use inline css hack &quot;\0/&quot;.&lt;br /&gt;
.elementOrClassName{property:value;\0/}&lt;br /&gt;
Eg: .sitename{margin:20px;\0/}&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
IE7&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* (star) can be used as the inline hack for ie7&lt;br /&gt;
.elementOrClassName{*property:value;}&lt;br /&gt;
Eg: .sitename{*margin:20px;}&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
IE6&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
_ (underscore) can be using for ie6&lt;br /&gt;
.elementOrClassName{_property:value;}&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div style=&quot;color: #3d85c6;&quot;&gt;
&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&amp;lt;link  href=’FaviconURL’ rel=’shortcut icon’  type=’image/x-icon’/&amp;gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div style=&quot;color: #3d85c6;&quot;&gt;
&lt;i&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;color: black; font-size: x-small;&quot;&gt;FaviconURL - is the website address or location where your favicon hosted.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div style=&quot;color: #3d85c6;&quot;&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;color: black;&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp;5. Then save the template. Blog will load with your new favicon.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt; &lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

LinkWithin is a blog widget that appears under each post, linking to related post from your blog archive. It is an awesome &quot;related post&quot; service which provides users to navigate to similar and related articles in the site easily.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;
&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbHHRdGWJezDFfHlQRyVssEWmpLxJIN_Wv19aEWYfU2i6NjTi_6TYSdKZn_gHvmo2-j0QbPEd_9sBeLrTqa9YyXQ3s3NG4LIGrkkrNu1cn0uBFJ8PGJ6vfyxR1g5qDtP-c8t07JwdArKm9/s1600/linkwithin.jpg&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; height=&quot;166&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbHHRdGWJezDFfHlQRyVssEWmpLxJIN_Wv19aEWYfU2i6NjTi_6TYSdKZn_gHvmo2-j0QbPEd_9sBeLrTqa9YyXQ3s3NG4LIGrkkrNu1cn0uBFJ8PGJ6vfyxR1g5qDtP-c8t07JwdArKm9/s320/linkwithin.jpg&quot; width=&quot;320&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In home page and category pages where the multiple posts displayed , you will also see this related post of each article. This is not looking good so here I am explaining how to remove the related post widget from home page and&amp;nbsp;showing this linkWithin in single&amp;nbsp;posts.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;ul style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;div style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;
Login to your blogger and then goto Template &amp;gt;&amp;gt; Edit HTML&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Check Expand Widget Templates &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Search “LinkWithin” in your template&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Add the following lines to your code( those in Red)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border-bottom: #ccc 1px solid; border-left: #ccc 1px solid; border-right: #ccc 1px solid; border-top: #ccc 1px solid; height: 160px; padding-bottom: 6px; padding-left: 6px; padding-right: 6px; padding-top: 6px; width: 596px;&quot;&gt;&amp;lt;b:widget id=&#39;HTML1&#39; locked=&#39;false&#39; title=&#39;LinkWithin&#39; type=&#39;HTML&#39;&amp;gt;
&amp;lt;b:includable id=&#39;main&#39;&amp;gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;color: red;&quot;&gt;&amp;lt;b:if cond=&#39;data:blog.pageType == &amp;amp;quot;item&amp;amp;quot;&#39;&amp;gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&amp;lt;data:content/&amp;gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;color: red;&quot;&gt;&amp;lt;/b:if&amp;gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&amp;lt;/b:includable&amp;gt;

&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;Here I am explaining how to remove an option from selectbox or combobox&amp;nbsp; options list using Jquery. Jquery is a powerful javascript library that provides a lot of predefined functions to achieve our needs.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;For removing the option, using remove function(remove()).&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;Add following script in onload function.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;$(&quot;#selectboxid option[value=&#39;value&#39;]&quot;).remove();&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;selectboxid = ID of your selectbox&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;value = value of the option which you want to remove.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;$(document).ready(function()){&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;$(&quot;#select-id option[value=&#39;0&#39;]&quot;).remove();&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;});&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;Here option value 0 is removed while&amp;nbsp; the form load.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://api.jquery.com/remove/&quot;&gt;http://api.jquery.com/remove/ &lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/feeds/5078255055028338033/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/10/how-to-remove-option-from-selectbox.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/5078255055028338033'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/5078255055028338033'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/10/how-to-remove-option-from-selectbox.html' title='How to remove option from selectbox options using Jquery'/><author><name>Unknown</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='https://img1.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564244428129156591.post-5749749488975131257</id><published>2011-10-15T21:21:00.002+05:30</published><updated>2011-10-15T21:31:07.593+05:30</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Drupal"/><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="PHP"/><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Wordpress"/><title type='text'>Top 20 Wordpress plugins and their Drupal equivalent</title><content type='html'>&lt;div dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot; trbidi=&quot;on&quot;&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://wordpress.org/&quot;&gt;Wordpress&lt;/a&gt; is a popular blogging platform like google blogger. It provides more flexibility than blogger. If you want setup a good looking blog site quickly without knowing more technical stuff, then &lt;/span&gt;Wordpress should be the most likely choice for you&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt; . It provides a lot of plugins that just enable to activate more user friendly functionalities.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;Wordpress is a Content Management System(CMS) build around PHP and MySQL. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;Like Wordpress, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/&quot;&gt;Drupal&lt;/a&gt; is also a CMS build around PHP and MySQL &lt;/span&gt;with almost all the strengths of Wordpress&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;. But Drupal is more developer centric and &lt;/span&gt;customizable and robust&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt; &lt;/span&gt;when compared to Wordpress&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt; and it useful for developing Medium and large Websites, other than just a blog site.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;

&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;

&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
12. &lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery/&quot;&gt;NextGEN Gallery Wordpress plugin&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt;
 is a fully integrated Image Gallery plugin for WordPress with a
slideshow option. Before I started writing the plugin I studied all the
existing image and gallery plugins for WordPress. Some of them are
really good and well designed, but the gap I filled was a simple
administration system at the back end which can also handle multiple
galleries.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
There are no equivalent ready made solutions available for Drupal, though there are some modules like &lt;a href=&quot;http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery/&quot;&gt;Fast Gallery&lt;/a&gt; available, it will not stand anywhere near the features provided by the nextgen gallery.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
The best way to create a custom image gallery in
Drupal is to use the content types, image field and views. You can use
modules like &lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/ddblock&quot;&gt;DDBlock&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt;, &lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/views_slideshow&quot;&gt;Views_Slideshow&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt; using views and content types.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
13. &lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/redirection/&quot;&gt;Redirection is a WordPress plugin&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt; to manage 301 redirections and keep track of 404 errors without requiring knowledge of Apache .htaccess files.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/path_redirect&quot;&gt;Path redirect&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt; is the popular alternative in Drupal&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
14. &lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-tags/&quot;&gt;Simple Tags&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt;
 add some tools for taxonomies like Terms suggestion, Mass Edit Terms,
Auto link Terms, Ajax Autocompletion, Click Terms, Auto terms, Advanced
manage term&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
In Drupal: By default Drupal taxonomies support
tags with auto-complete option. Other features like tagcloud and manage
tags can be done using the&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/tagadelic&quot;&gt;&lt;b&gt;Tagadalic&lt;/b&gt; &lt;/a&gt;For tagclouds&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/taxonomy_manager&quot;&gt;Taxonomy Manager&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt; - Manage taxonomies&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/taxonomy_manager&quot;&gt;Community tags&lt;/a&gt; &lt;/b&gt;- allow users to tag content and track it.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
15. &lt;b&gt;Social Plugins&lt;/b&gt; - Wordpress comes with the popular social plugins &lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-to-any/&quot;&gt;Addtoany&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt; and &lt;a href=&quot;http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/addthis/&quot;&gt;&lt;b&gt;Addthis&lt;/b&gt;.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
Both of these plugins provide share icons of the
popular social bookmarking websites. Add-to-any allows integration with
google analytics and Addthis allows customization of the social icons.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
Both&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/addtoany&quot;&gt; &lt;b&gt;Addtoany&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;b&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/project/addthis&quot;&gt;Addthis&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/b&gt; are available as modules for installation in Drupal to enhance your social experience while using Drupal&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;rtejustify&quot;&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

This is similar to Tortoise SVN for Windows.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It provide multiple clients and extensions to give you a uniform experience no matter what development tools you use. It provide all Subversion client functionality without touching the command line so it is very useful for developers who are not familiar with Linux commands and newbies to Linux. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
It also provide an easy to use command line tool in this package.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
To install RabbitVCS in Ubuntu, first we need to add the PPA&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Karmic and later&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre class=&quot;alt2 rtejustify&quot; dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;border-style: inset; border-width: 1px; height: 34px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rabbitvcs/ppa &lt;/pre&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Hardy, Intrepid and Jaunty&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Add the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list file (signing key = 1024R/34EF4A35)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre class=&quot;alt2 rtejustify&quot; dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;border-style: inset; border-width: 1px; height: 34px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/rabbitvcs/ppa/ubuntu **DISTRIBUTION** main&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Update your software package repositories with:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre class=&quot;alt2 rtejustify&quot; dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;border-style: inset; border-width: 1px; height: 34px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;sudo apt-get update&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Install :&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre class=&quot;alt2 rtejustify&quot; dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;border-style: inset; border-width: 1px; height: 34px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;sudo apt-get install rabbitvcs-core rabbitvcs-nautilus rabbitvcs-thunar rabbitvcs-gedit rabbitvcs-cli&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
From Tarball&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Installing from our distributed tarball is relatively straightforward on Ubuntu.  First, make sure you install all dependencies:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre class=&quot;alt2 rtejustify&quot; dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;border-style: inset; border-width: 1px; height: 34px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;sudo apt-get install python-nautilus python-configobj python-gtk2 python-glade2 python-svn python-dbus python-dulwich subversion meld&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Then download the &lt;a class=&quot;urlextern&quot; href=&quot;http://code.google.com/p/rabbitvcs/downloads/list&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot; title=&quot;http://code.google.com/p/rabbitvcs/downloads/list&quot;&gt;tarball&lt;/a&gt; and from the top folder type:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre class=&quot;alt2 rtejustify&quot; dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;border-style: inset; border-width: 1px; height: 34px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;sudo python setup.py install&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Once that is done working, look in the &lt;i&gt;clients&lt;/i&gt; folder and read the README file for each client/plugin to learn how they are installed.&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/feeds/346087010443121770/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/08/install-rabbitvcs-in-ubuntu.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/346087010443121770'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/346087010443121770'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/08/install-rabbitvcs-in-ubuntu.html' title='Install RabbitVCS in Ubuntu'/><author><name>Unknown</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='https://img1.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZhZvgZPkkyKTK6NqQDPbCc-zbOAMtKjw5bcFCinrmNZ_B3oIO6fFA3CgiWagOXtO7mVh_kXMra2S-zQ3cWG1afdYjcPPSJgs87mJWodfKblBLmMjJYngiFmVpVSVAIDdrcbXEZ3EHBX_t/s72-c/Rabbitvcs.png" height="72" width="72"/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564244428129156591.post-5131577996312913360</id><published>2011-06-30T11:36:00.001+05:30</published><updated>2011-06-30T17:43:26.335+05:30</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Java Script"/><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="jquery"/><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="PHP"/><title type='text'>Regular expression for validating US phone number</title><content type='html'>&lt;b&gt;US phone number format validation using regular expression.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The common US phone number format is 3digits-3digits-4digits&lt;br /&gt;
eg: 222-333-3333&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 111-222-1234&lt;br /&gt;
The regular expression for validating this format is&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
function usphone($string) {&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; if(preg_match(&#39;/^[0-9]{3}\-[0-9]{3}\-[0-9]{4}$/&#39;, $string)) {&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; return true;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; }&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; else{&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; return false;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; }&lt;br /&gt;
}&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Validation using Javascript&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
function isUSphone(phoneno) {&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; var filter = /^[0-9]{3}\-[0-9]{3}\-[0-9]{4}$/;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; if (filter.test(phoneno)) &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; returntrue;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; else&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; return false;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;
}&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In Jquery&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
if($(&quot;#phone-num&quot;).val().match(/^[0-9]{3}\-[0-9]{3}\-[0-9]{4}$/)) {&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; //valid phone number&lt;br /&gt;
}&lt;br /&gt;
else {&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; //not a valid number&lt;br /&gt;

It helps to copy files from remote system to local system and wise versa. In Linux, filezilla is use for this purpose. But we can simulate WinSCP in Linux/Ubuntu by using &lt;/span&gt;Nautilus.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG2-SNewi9TngDAAuAXrRc5p113eaqHRYV_W4cVG547Za3eFcCADgXRTGti62pTDN5ZmAne7TbEQ5SQELc_-65_W8JQWWKyfhcD6R6BMgI5u8zX5cvwovZN2aQ22ZI_kbKV9CSxQE1NIMd/s1600/Simulate+WinSCP+Ubuntu.png&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; height=&quot;170&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG2-SNewi9TngDAAuAXrRc5p113eaqHRYV_W4cVG547Za3eFcCADgXRTGti62pTDN5ZmAne7TbEQ5SQELc_-65_W8JQWWKyfhcD6R6BMgI5u8zX5cvwovZN2aQ22ZI_kbKV9CSxQE1NIMd/s320/Simulate+WinSCP+Ubuntu.png&quot; width=&quot;320&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
To simulate this we need to install Nautilus elementary, which is a nice addition to Nautilus to enable split view in the file browser. The steps for installing Nautilus elementary in Ubuntu are here.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Type the following in console&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre&gt;sudo add-apt-repository ppa:am-monkeyd/nautilus-elementary-ppa&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;pre&gt;&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;The above line will add the repository from where you can download the Nautilus elementary&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;pre&gt;sudo apt-get update &amp;amp;&amp;amp; sudo apt-get upgrade&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;pre&gt;&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;will update the local repositories and update all the software.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;pre&gt;nautilus -q   &lt;/pre&gt;&lt;pre&gt;&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;justify&quot;&gt;Now open Nautilus and press F3. You should able to see the split windows. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: large;&quot;&gt;Access Remote system&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;Access the remote system by connecting to remote system in one pane. Select the right side pane and go to File-&amp;gt;Connect to Server&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNjY_raB6ljHJT0g9XOExHOeqOVLRYDcYpdJo6r46N9ky3PsRj7cTg-XkQfzd6rhUqVmTg_gDJ6BF3w-w3kMcaoadcwzlMnji6gcLgL0c9idHBhM_haLDwN90TGwyWcBYh6YqA72snGsdM/s1600/connect+to+server.png&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; height=&quot;320&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNjY_raB6ljHJT0g9XOExHOeqOVLRYDcYpdJo6r46N9ky3PsRj7cTg-XkQfzd6rhUqVmTg_gDJ6BF3w-w3kMcaoadcwzlMnji6gcLgL0c9idHBhM_haLDwN90TGwyWcBYh6YqA72snGsdM/s320/connect+to+server.png&quot; width=&quot;317&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;Fill up the details of the remote system and then press connect. Now the  right hand panel will  have the files of  remote system.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;The left hand panel will have the files of local system. To drag and drop the files form one pane to other for copying the files. Also you can use SSH, FTP, SFTP etc protocols to connect the remote system.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/feeds/1269725302733511421/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/05/winscp-alternative-in-ubuntu.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/1269725302733511421'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/1269725302733511421'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/05/winscp-alternative-in-ubuntu.html' title='WinSCP alternative in Ubuntu.'/><author><name>Unknown</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='https://img1.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG2-SNewi9TngDAAuAXrRc5p113eaqHRYV_W4cVG547Za3eFcCADgXRTGti62pTDN5ZmAne7TbEQ5SQELc_-65_W8JQWWKyfhcD6R6BMgI5u8zX5cvwovZN2aQ22ZI_kbKV9CSxQE1NIMd/s72-c/Simulate+WinSCP+Ubuntu.png" height="72" width="72"/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564244428129156591.post-9169347790520765960</id><published>2011-04-14T15:48:00.000+05:30</published><updated>2011-04-14T15:48:28.434+05:30</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="jquery"/><title type='text'>Popular jquery plugins for skinning selectbox</title><content type='html'>&lt;div dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot; trbidi=&quot;on&quot;&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;Most of the clients comes with custom design for their forms and looking fancy drop downs and custom skin for select boxes. A large number of paid plugins are available in the market. But these are not affordable for small and medium&amp;nbsp; sites.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;A lot of free jquery plugins are available in Internet for skinning select box and drop downs. Here I listed out the common jquery libraries used for skinning select box.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgaGXCh6vhz7gEzSrBeiXl4yR6GM_xXAqKh0c68e4cl6RZ6xP-Z66ZBnDj67MEJYDfmGUAYuMEDTFieSL0F9SeDuEWQq-XH6HZ8TUvii_7mKT4LjkN9k4qrCfYeWL0S-D26Tqym3x8j8y/s1600/jquery-logo1.png&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgaGXCh6vhz7gEzSrBeiXl4yR6GM_xXAqKh0c68e4cl6RZ6xP-Z66ZBnDj67MEJYDfmGUAYuMEDTFieSL0F9SeDuEWQq-XH6HZ8TUvii_7mKT4LjkN9k4qrCfYeWL0S-D26Tqym3x8j8y/s1600/jquery-logo1.png&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.verot.net/jquery_select_skin.htm&quot;&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;Jquery Select Skin&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;A simple jquery code for theming select box. It is a light weight plugin&amp;nbsp; for skinning &amp;lt;SELECT&amp;gt; lists. It keeps the basic functionalities of &amp;lt;SELECT&amp;gt; list and it uses little CSS.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;You can download the latest version from &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.verot.net/download/jquery.select_skin/jquery.select_skin.js?PHPSESSID=65db37590cb8e073081b2a6f894b67f6&quot;&gt;here&lt;/a&gt; or download it from &lt;a href=&quot;http://plugins.jquery.com/project/select_skin&quot;&gt;jquery site&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt;First include this js file into your page. &lt;/span&gt;Then, apply the &lt;i&gt;select_skin&lt;/i&gt; plugin to any jQuery element you want:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border-bottom: rgb(204,204,204) 1px solid; border-left: rgb(204,204,204) 1px solid; border-right: rgb(204,204,204) 1px solid; border-top: rgb(204,204,204) 1px solid; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-top: 5px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;jQuery(document).ready(function() {
jQuery(&quot;#selectid&quot;).select_skin();
});&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Add following styles into the CSS file.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border-bottom: rgb(204,204,204) 1px solid; border-left: rgb(204,204,204) 1px solid; border-right: rgb(204,204,204) 1px solid; border-top: rgb(204,204,204) 1px solid; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-top: 5px; width: 500px;&quot;&gt;div.cmf-skinned-select {
    background: url(&#39;skin.png&#39;) top right no-repeat ;
    border: 1px solid #ccc;
}
div.cmf-skinned-text {
    padding: 3px;
}&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

In annual DrupalCon conference this week, Drupal founder Dries Buytaert detailed what lessons were learned in the Drupal 7 development process and how those lessons will be applied to Drupal 8.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSNTzWE_vD25n36VSaOhFhlNYEVujb7VP_y2XLvshYm162YCMBbMBBQjqwxdXQiN9rpwd-Fgk8V__AdWHx7stOJegDZC-Hz_djuVkX4ACWkeBhreN4i_xtApWymwAxNsR5zvJE3S9qxnDn/s1600/drupal1.gif&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSNTzWE_vD25n36VSaOhFhlNYEVujb7VP_y2XLvshYm162YCMBbMBBQjqwxdXQiN9rpwd-Fgk8V__AdWHx7stOJegDZC-Hz_djuVkX4ACWkeBhreN4i_xtApWymwAxNsR5zvJE3S9qxnDn/s1600/drupal1.gif&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Thousands of websites uses drupal. Major sites like Mozilla, NASA, Whitehouse.gov and among others used drupal for their sites.&lt;br /&gt;
Development is now beginning on Drupal 8 and Buytaert is restructuring the project to ensure that the lessons of Drupal 7 are not forgotten. Dealing with bugs is one of Buytaert&#39;s top priorities.&lt;br /&gt;
&quot;At no point in time will there be more than 15 critical bugs,&quot; Buytaert said. &quot;I will not pull in a big change if we know there are known bugs. This gives us the ability to do timely releases because we know at most the release is only 15 critical bugs away from being ready.&quot; &lt;br /&gt;
&quot;The biggest risk to Drupal is getting so big that we become slow,&quot; Buytaert said. &quot;Our ability to be open to change, accept change and be agile is key.&quot;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

This Network has been created by Tag1 Consulting to serve websites dedicated to free software ideals, helping them connect with companies selling products and services targeting a FLOSS audience. AdBard solves the problem that more generic advertising has led to the display of proprietary software products on sites that otherwise promote computer user freedom.&lt;br /&gt;
Currently&amp;nbsp; hundreds of website participating in this network and hundreds of sites and agencies uses this network for promoting their products.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If you are a free software activist, then this is the best platform to promote your ideas and products.&lt;br /&gt;

Most of the web servers uses linux as the OS. So web developers should aware of basic linux commands for the easy installation and development. The main Linux commands and syntaxes are explained here.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Copy -cp&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
cp- copy files and directories &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Syntax&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp; cp &lt;i&gt;[options] SOURCE DEST&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;--backup[=CONTROL]&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;make a backup of each existing destination file&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-b&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;like --backup but does not accept an argument&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;--copy-contents&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;copy contents of special files when recursive&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-d&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;same as --no-dereference --preserve=link&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-f, --force&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;if an existing destination file cannot be opened, remove it and try again (redundant if the -n option is used)&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-i, --interactive&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;prompt before overwrite (overrides a previous -n option)&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-H&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;prompt before overwrite (overrides a previous -n option)&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;

&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-P&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;same as &#39;--no-dereference&#39;&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-R, -r, --recursive&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;copy directories recursively&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;--remove-destination&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;remove each existing destination file before attempting to open it (contrast with --force)&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;--reply={yes,no,query}&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;specify how to handle the prompt about an existing destination file&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;

&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-u, --update&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;copy only when the SOURCE file is newer than the destination file or when the destination file is missing&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt;&lt;td&gt;-v, --verbose&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;explain what is being done&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-x, --one-file-system&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;stay on this file system&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;/tbody&gt;&lt;/table&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Secure copy - scp&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
scp- secure copy (remote file copy program)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
scp copies files between hosts on a network.&amp;nbsp; It uses ssh(1) for data transfer, and uses the same authentication and provides the same security as ssh(1).&amp;nbsp; Unlike rcp(1), scp will ask for passwords or passphrases if they are needed for authentication.&lt;br /&gt;
File names may contain a user and host specification to indicate that the file is to be copied to/from that host.&amp;nbsp; Local file names can be made explicit using absolute or relative pathnames to avoid scp treating file names containing ‘:’ as host specifiers.&amp;nbsp; Copies between two remote hosts are also permitted.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Syntax&lt;br /&gt;
scp &lt;i&gt;[options] [[user@]host1:]file1[[user@]host2:]file2&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Options&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;table class=&quot;optns&quot;&gt;&lt;tbody&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-1&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Forces scp to use protocol 1.&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-2&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Forces scp to use protocol 2.&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-4&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Forces scp to use IPv4 addresses only.&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-6&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Forces scp to use IPv6 addresses only.&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-B&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Selects batch mode (prevents asking for passwords or passphrases).&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-C&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Selects batch mode (prevents asking for passwords or passphrases).&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-F ssh_config&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Selects batch mode (prevents asking for passwords or passphrases).&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-p&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Preserves modification times, access times, and modes from the original file.&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-q&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Quiet mode: disables the progress meter as well as warning and diagnostic messages from ssh(1).&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-r&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Recursively copy entire directories.  Note that scp follows symbolic links encountered in the tree traversal.&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-v&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;Verbose mode. Causes scp and ssh(1) to print debugging messages about their progress.  This is helpful in debugging connection, authentication, and configuration problems.&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;/tbody&gt;&lt;/table&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;SSH&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
ssh - OpenSSH SSH client (remote login program)&lt;br /&gt;
ssh (SSH client) is a program for logging into a remote machine and for executing commands on a remote machine. It is intended to replace rlogin and rsh, and provide secure encrypted communications between two untrusted hosts over an insecure network.&amp;nbsp; X11 connections and arbitrary&amp;nbsp; TCP ports can also be forwarded over the secure channel.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Syntax&lt;br /&gt;
ssh [user@]hostname [command]&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Move - mv&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
mv - move (rename) files&lt;br /&gt;
Rename SOURCE to DEST, or move SOURCE(s) to DIRECTORY.&lt;br /&gt;
Mandatory&amp;nbsp; arguments&amp;nbsp; to&amp;nbsp; long&amp;nbsp; options are mandatory for short options too.&lt;br /&gt;
Syntax&lt;br /&gt;
mv &lt;i&gt;[options] [-T] SOURCE DEST&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
mv&lt;i&gt; [options] SOURCE DIRECTORY&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Options&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;table class=&quot;optns&quot;&gt;&lt;tbody&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;--backup[=CONTROL]&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;make a backup of each existing destination file&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-f, --force&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;do not prompt before overwriting&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-T, --no-target-directory&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;treat DEST as a normal file&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-v, --verbose&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;explain what is being done&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;/tbody&gt;&lt;/table&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;b&gt;Remove - rm&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
rm - remove files or directories&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Syntax&lt;br /&gt;
rm &lt;i&gt;[options] FILE&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Options&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;table class=&quot;optns&quot;&gt;&lt;tbody&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-f, --force&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;ignore nonexistent files, never prompt&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-i&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;prompt before every removal&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-I&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;prompt once before removing more than three files, or when removing recursively. Less intrusive than -i, while still giving protection against most mistakes&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;--interactive[=WHEN]&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;prompt according to WHEN: never, once(-I), or always(-i). Without WHEN, prompt always&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-r, -R, --recursive&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;remove directories and their contents recursively&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;-v, --verbose&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;explain what is being done&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt; &lt;td&gt;--version&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td&gt;output version information and exit&lt;/td&gt; &lt;/tr&gt;

In free hosting service a lot of people facing issues in drupal-6 installation. So they are switching the free hosting account to paid or switching drupal to other frameworks. So here I am trying explaining how to install drupal CMS in Awardspace web hosting server. Drupal 6 needs PHP5 for the installation.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkiJYTXfTZsZzWTJFhJUYbV1g0drn3C2HoCwETVIbSfKWCmRTMXNAM2p78rKyaUJg6dIPNxv-vD8aZkwMB0jtd2qcNUMEw5gP3IMrYgCZ-5q40SFhQ2v6w1mpXr8r2gFQ6seAWmGHq4RIr/s1600/drupal-logo.jpg&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkiJYTXfTZsZzWTJFhJUYbV1g0drn3C2HoCwETVIbSfKWCmRTMXNAM2p78rKyaUJg6dIPNxv-vD8aZkwMB0jtd2qcNUMEw5gP3IMrYgCZ-5q40SFhQ2v6w1mpXr8r2gFQ6seAWmGHq4RIr/s1600/drupal-logo.jpg&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;For installing drupal, first download the installation files from &lt;a href=&quot;http://drupal.org/&quot;&gt;Drupal&lt;/a&gt; site (drupal 6.20).Once you have downloaded Drupal and created an account in Awardspace, we  need to upload the files to our Awardspace account. The easiest way to  do this is using and FTP client, filezilla or other FTP client. Now you can install drupal. But before starting please check the PHP version that installed in your server. For checking go to PHP settings on the Web Manager of the Awardspace Control Panel, Make sure the PHP installed is PHP5 otherwise change the version to PHP5 (Some times they provide PHP4. If you have PHP4 then change it to PHP5). Otherwise this error might appear:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span style=&quot;font-style: italic;&quot;&gt;register_globals is enabled. Drupal  requires this configuration directive to be disabled. Your site may not  be secure when register_globals is enabled. The PHP manual has  instructions for how to change configuration settings. (Currently using  PHP register globals Enabled (&#39;1&#39;))&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After changing PHP version, access your site through the browser. You will get a installation page on your browser. But some times it will throw an &quot;&lt;span style=&quot;font-style: italic;&quot;&gt;500 Internal Server Error&lt;/span&gt;&quot; but don&#39;t worry. To fix this, connect to your file manager from the Hosting Control Panel (or using your FTP client) and rename the &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold;&quot;&gt;.htaccess&lt;/span&gt; file in the drupal root directory to another name eg: .htaccess.old.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Then try again the install.php script, the page will let us access the install page. The  first page is the Choose language screen where you can choose whether  to install Drupal in English or another language.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You&amp;nbsp; can install Drupal 7 also with the same steps. &lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/feeds/5219436216517922603/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/02/install-drupal-6-in-awardspace.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/5219436216517922603'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/5219436216517922603'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/02/install-drupal-6-in-awardspace.html' title='Install Drupal 6 in AwardSpace'/><author><name>Unknown</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='https://img1.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkiJYTXfTZsZzWTJFhJUYbV1g0drn3C2HoCwETVIbSfKWCmRTMXNAM2p78rKyaUJg6dIPNxv-vD8aZkwMB0jtd2qcNUMEw5gP3IMrYgCZ-5q40SFhQ2v6w1mpXr8r2gFQ6seAWmGHq4RIr/s72-c/drupal-logo.jpg" height="72" width="72"/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564244428129156591.post-71375736817145523</id><published>2011-02-26T17:26:00.002+05:30</published><updated>2011-02-26T17:32:12.656+05:30</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="jquery"/><title type='text'>Skinning Select box using Jquery</title><content type='html'>&lt;div dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot; trbidi=&quot;on&quot;&gt;A lot of jquery plugins are available in Internet to skin SELECT box. Some of them are very good but some times these plugins cause the performance of the site, if you are including lot of third party javascript files into your sites. I used some third party skinning javascript in my  sites and it works fine but when I use lightbox and some other slide show plugin to my site this skinning js not working properly, because it took too much time to load all js. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHoA9zhgGBaeXlB2h_v_0v5VjT2HUhY1BoZGTboVUDZmj3yJC2elfXLppSkmVvBmSr3N-Q1hP9CqA9DMkX-9URk06XQnnZmbeoSo8yZBZZ5wJtJ15NX1iGOD7KV2AkQmjPlwfogPbrdoYM/s1600/jquery-logo1.png&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot; style=&quot;margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHoA9zhgGBaeXlB2h_v_0v5VjT2HUhY1BoZGTboVUDZmj3yJC2elfXLppSkmVvBmSr3N-Q1hP9CqA9DMkX-9URk06XQnnZmbeoSo8yZBZZ5wJtJ15NX1iGOD7KV2AkQmjPlwfogPbrdoYM/s1600/jquery-logo1.png&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
So I planned to write a simple jquery code to skin the select box. I share the code here&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;script&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
$(document).ready(function(){ &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; $(&quot;#Selectboxid&quot;).before(&quot;&amp;lt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;div id=&quot;:8o&quot;&gt;&lt;wbr&gt;&lt;/wbr&gt;span class=&#39;selectboxspan&#39;&amp;gt;&lt;wbr&gt;&lt;/wbr&gt;Select One&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&quot;);&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; //On Change Event &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; $(&quot;#Selectboxid&quot;).change(function(){ &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; $(&quot;.selectboxspan&quot;).html($(&quot;#Selectboxid option:selected&quot;).html()); &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; }); &lt;br /&gt;
});&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;/script&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Also&amp;nbsp; add these CSS in the code&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;select#selectboxid{width:61px;height:20px;opacity:0;filter:alpha(opacity=0);position:relative;z-index:5;}&lt;br /&gt;
span.selectboxspan{background:url(skin.png) no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent; height:17px;overflow:hidden;padding-left:4px;position:absolute;width:63px; border:1px solid #cccccc;}&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The HTML code&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;select id=&quot;Selectboxid&quot;&amp;nbsp; name=&quot;skinnedSelectbox&quot;&amp;gt; &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;option value=&quot;0&quot;&amp;gt;Select One&amp;lt;/option&amp;gt; &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;option value=&quot;1&quot;&amp;gt;Test1&amp;lt;/option&amp;gt; &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;option value=&quot;2&quot;&amp;gt;Test2&amp;lt;/option&amp;gt; &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;option value=&quot;3&quot;&amp;gt;Test3&amp;lt;/option&amp;gt; &lt;br /&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;/select&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/feeds/71375736817145523/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/02/skinning-select-box-using-jquery.html#comment-form' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/71375736817145523'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4564244428129156591/posts/default/71375736817145523'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://the-webspot.blogspot.com/2011/02/skinning-select-box-using-jquery.html' title='Skinning Select box using Jquery'/><author><name>Unknown</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='https://img1.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHoA9zhgGBaeXlB2h_v_0v5VjT2HUhY1BoZGTboVUDZmj3yJC2elfXLppSkmVvBmSr3N-Q1hP9CqA9DMkX-9URk06XQnnZmbeoSo8yZBZZ5wJtJ15NX1iGOD7KV2AkQmjPlwfogPbrdoYM/s72-c/jquery-logo1.png" height="72" width="72"/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4564244428129156591.post-6422391686014725200</id><published>2011-02-20T17:34:00.009+05:30</published><updated>2011-03-03T12:38:53.322+05:30</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Apache"/><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Linux"/><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="MySQL"/><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="PHP"/><title type='text'>Installing Apache, MySQL and PHP in Linux-Ubuntu</title><content type='html'>&lt;div dir=&quot;ltr&quot; style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot; trbidi=&quot;on&quot;&gt;&lt;div style=&quot;text-align: left;&quot;&gt;Apache is the most commonly used web server. It is a free open source web server. PHP is an open source server scripting language. It has a lot of advantages. MySQL is also an open source database used for small and medium data storage. It can also used for large data storage also.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;separator&quot; style=&quot;clear: both; text-align: center;&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvzaye1cIIMjCaFJK02zPnbZyUCxLCqr1wbEgHM3m9H68Ng8H1y55My4VwAO_sK7jGn8UsyfdOfzLpGl9eXQRUTlC3lJoDoYg5o5A8UtsezfoSvhhceFVjY8Ml1_NhcW6CeCFMUQFIZ_q_/s1600/apache_server_icon.jpg&quot; imageanchor=&quot;1&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; height=&quot;128&quot; src=&quot;https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvzaye1cIIMjCaFJK02zPnbZyUCxLCqr1wbEgHM3m9H68Ng8H1y55My4VwAO_sK7jGn8UsyfdOfzLpGl9eXQRUTlC3lJoDoYg5o5A8UtsezfoSvhhceFVjY8Ml1_NhcW6CeCFMUQFIZ_q_/s320/apache_server_icon.jpg&quot; width=&quot;128&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;fullpost&quot;&gt; &lt;br /&gt;
We can install apache, PHP and MySQL in two ways. 1. Download source code from their site and install. 2 the easiest way install it from synaptic package manager. If you use this method apt-get automatically manage all dependencies. So I explain the second method here.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1. Open the Terminal from Applications -&amp;gt; Accessories -&amp;gt; Terminal&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2. Install apache2 copy paste command to terminal&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 30px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 300px;&quot;&gt;sudo apt-get install apache2&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
3. Install PHP5&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 30px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 400px;&quot;&gt;sudo apt-get install php5 libapache2-mod-php5&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
4. Restart apache&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 30px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 300px;&quot;&gt;sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Now the PHP was installed. To test it create a php page in /var/www/ - the webroot and run it&lt;br /&gt;
Example sudo gedit /var/www/hello.php&lt;br /&gt;
write a basic php code in it&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
to run this script type http://localhost/hello.php in your browser and you can see &quot;Hello World&quot; in it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
5. Install mySQL&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 30px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 480px;&quot;&gt;sudo apt-get install mysql-client mysql-server mysql-query-browser mysql-admin mysql-navigator php5-mysql php5-gd&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
6. Restart apache&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 30px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 300px;&quot;&gt;sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart &lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
7. If you need phpmyadmin follow this step. If you like to use MySQL GUI then skip this step&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 30px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 300px;&quot;&gt;sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin &lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Restart apache&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 30px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 300px;&quot;&gt;sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart &lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Add following lines in httpd.conf&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 40px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 300px;&quot;&gt;# Enable PHPMyAdmin
Include /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
To access httpd.conf  copy paste following line to terminal&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 30px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 300px;&quot;&gt;sudo gedit /etc/apache2/httpd.conf&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Restart apache&lt;br /&gt;
8. If you need to access your url as http://localhost/~username, enable userdir module in apache2. enable mod_rewrite to allow clean url&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;pre style=&quot;border: 1px inset; height: 100px; margin: 0px; overflow: auto; padding: 6px; text-align: left; width: 360px;&quot;&gt;cd /etc/apache2/mods-enabled
sudo ln -s ../mods-available/userdir.load
sudo ln -s ../mods-available/userdir.conf
sudo ln -s ../mods-available/rewrite.load
sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 reload&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
9. Create folder /home/&amp;lt;username&amp;gt;/public_html -- &amp;gt; this is the folder which we are going to use as the document root for local development. So you will be accessing your local websites as http://localhost/~username/sitename&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
10. Edit /etc/apache2/mods-available/userdir.conf and change the AllowOverride line to just read &lt;b&gt;AllowOverride All&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br /&gt;
Now you can use public_html as user document root&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Enjoy scripting&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
