So, while this show has been on sabbatical, a lot has been going on in everyone's lives. Your friendly creator here has many a story to tell, but also, regrettably has to postpone the new show for yet another lengthy period of time.

The show was on track until yesterday, when an unfortunate accident involving a family member, a beer, and Amanda's workstation occurred. Needless to say, I'm currently writing to you from a borrowed netbook, and my computer is kaput for the forseeable future. So please forgive me for postponing yet again the new reveal of the show. I do promise that it will be new and shiny, and better than ever... if I can ever get it off the ground.

Thank you loyal fans for sticking with me in these times of stress, trouble and absence. And please forgive any typos, I have gigantic paws and this is an itty bitty keyboard.

Hello Friends,

I'm frustrated to be writing this message, but I think its for the best. Word Salad will be going on an extended sabbatial, until its hosts and creator can sort out their lives and where she fits.   Let me make a promise to you that this is by no means the end of Word Salad.   Unlike the times before when we've said "we'll be back, better than ever." This time, its the truth.

So when will we return?   The July 23.
How will this look when we're back?   We don't quite know yet.
Well then, what do we know? That Word Salad will be back and more fabulous than ever.
And that's a promise from everyone involved in Word Salad.

We adore you all! See you in July!

Amanda and Hillary were in the studio this week talking smack about Miss Plastic Hungary and John and Kate, Roman Polanski, and the Aspirational Peace Prize. We also delved into the upcoming movie scene, checking out trailers and talking about movies like Pirate Radio (formerly called--and my favorite title "The Boat that Rocked!"), the Indian film Aladin, and the new Christmas Carol. Robert called in with his review of Ruben Fleischer's new film Zombieland and gave us yet another excellent tip to surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. And to top it all off, the show ended on a high note with the Papa Salad's Joke of the Week. Due to some technical difficulties in the studio, the show won't be up online this week, but we will have all the kinks worked out by next week.

Seriously, now. Send us some love. Email us your ideas and come join in on the show. Sunday 6-8. Be there, or be square.

Over the past three weeks, I have tried repeatedly to get into the brand ass-spanking new studio....and failed. First the locks were broken, then the wrong size, now the pass-key reader isn't operational and the internal studio doors are locked. Needless to say, your poor hosts are freezing in the cold while the doors to the warm and functioning (we hope) studio were closed. BUT!!! There is a bright side!!

Last night I was able to get into the studio and test out the new surroundings! We broadcast, mostly music, for a little under two hours. Needless to say, it was awesome being back in the real studio.

So tonight is a little different. We set out with a goal of talking about social networking sites and what effect they have of actual inter-personal communication. Amanda in the studio again joined by Emily and Amy. Joe was around for the last minute or three, and Amanda's Dad called in with the weekly lame joke in the last few minutes. Topic wandered through "red solo cup pictures," Sweetafton23, childhood bullies and bondage gear, and networking after death and all sorts of other things circling around social networking sites.

I was supposed to say this during the show, but I forgot. Specifically for Annie: "Get offline, go to a barndance and meet your lady."

No show this upcoming week, and most likely no show next week (unless someone in Florida magically has sound equipment, which I doubt).

We will be back in two weeks with a great show. In the meantime, there will be a new set of Hiatus Playlists (in a new format), and hopefully the show from last week will finally be uploaded. We've had numerous problems in the studio with the recordings, but we're hoping to have it all fixed by the time we come back.

Hope everyone is doing well, and we'll be back to rock your world on March 27.

17 Lost to the Ages

This episode has been lost to the ages. Somehow the recording equipment didn't work (again) and the show didn't finalize. We have a disk. We have an awesome show. But it can never be heard because the data didn't finalize. Needless to say, we are not pleased.

Highlights included the ladies talking about oversexualizing children, in response to the new Dora the Explorer silhouette that was released by Nickelodeon and Mattel. It reminded us of the peep show where you pay a dollar to see a naked lady dance behind a curtain. Anyway, if that was the case her name needed to change to "Dora the sexplorer." More than a bit upsetting. They did eventually release the image (after the show was recorded) and she is not as slutty as we thought, but we still can't understand--other than to make a few dollars--why the change.

Epic Fail

All systems were apparently down or failing as a full house showed up for a recording this week's show. Along with regulars, Emily, Becky, and Amanda, we had Julie, Travis, Mike, Lindsay, Meg and Joe...leading to an excellent night of discussion which you won't be able to hear unless you heard us live. The studio disintegrated before our eyes, the recording stopped working, as well as the miniplug and about everything else. Spirits were high, but the gods of the studio weren't having any of it.

Word Salad wil be back next week (and I promise it will all work). And we will record a supplementary show for this failed attempt.

The ladies of late night had a very productive week, and are passing their epipanies on to the rest of the world. Amands was in the studio with Becky, Emily, and Amy. They were joined by Chunt, Hillary, Hillary's Dreadlock, and Angie and as well as a brief appearance from She-Ra.

Living up to their name, the ladies of late night wandered from topic to topic, trying to determine why 20-something women get giddy, Becky's period song, spiked tampons, and anything else they could think of.

Just a reminder, Word Salad will be on hiatus for the next two-three weeks, but we will update you as soon as we know when we're recording the next show. There will quite possibly be at least one Hiatus Playlist compiled by the ladies, so you don't miss us too much, and some minisodes.

Amanda and the usual suspects, namely Amy, Becky, and Emily were in the studio talking about being women. Topics were all across the board, from reproduction, to abortion, and growing food locally. Some points of the conversation got graphic, so those with a fragile disposition are warned at specific times during the episode to perhaps turn us down for a bit.

Midway through the show, the ladies were joined via telephone by Tyler, and good times abounded.

A bit of a format change from last time. No music. We keep changing so we can become a better show. Leave suggestions, love or comments, and let us know how we're doing.

Thanks for sticking with us, its early days...but all we can do is get better from here on in.

I got an unfortunate email from the Blogger that said our last episode had copyright infringement. So as a precaution I took all our show links down.

We're going to be broadcasting live on Monday night, format may be a little different, but we're ready for the challenege.
