EA & Playfish Brings New Brands, Resources To Social Gaming

Once the digestion process is complete, they play back the sounds in perfect four-second intervals. While these sounds are playfully emitted, wave patterns can be seen pulsating on their bodies. Rec-Rec always swim side by side in schools of four. When they swim at different speeds, the frequency with which they emit sounds also changes.

New World-Class Fighters and Commentary Team Also Announced

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Electronic Arts Inc., (NASDAQ:ERTS) announced today that STRIKEFORCE, a world-class mixed martial arts fight promotion, will be featured as a premier league in the upcoming EA SPORTS™ MMA video game. In addition, Brett Rogers and Jake Shields, both of whom will be competing in the STRIKEFORCE and M-1 Global co-promoted fight on November 7 (broadcasted live by CBS), join the EA SPORTS MMA roster of fighters.

With this partnership, the STRIKEFORCE cage and the league’s commentary team of Frank Shamrock and Mauro Ranallo, as well as ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr., will be incorporated into the game. I have something that is actually pretty revolutionary for the DS. Attached is a release announcing a new Nintendo DS product called Easy Piano being distributed by Valcon Games in North America. Easy Piano is a new piano music product that anyone, as young as 6 and as old at 100+, would enjoy playing and/or learning how to play the piano. With an 13-note, full-octave external keyboard peripheral (see photo), Easy Piano makes it easy to learn the piano or simply have fun playing quick “Guitar Hero”-like games. With schools cutting music programs right and left, this is a great introduction to music for any age child 6+, and it is working with a mode they they can relate to, are drawn to and understand.

A picture can’t do it justice. It is very addictive to play and the external keyboard helps a lot.

Konami Breaks Down Updated Characters and Skills for Upcoming Downloadable Title

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. discusses the upgraded character advancement and skills for the upcoming tactical role-playing game, Vandal Hearts: Flame of Judgment for Xbox LIVE® Arcade and the PlayStation®Network. Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment, the first of the classic strategic RPG series on a next-generation console, keeps the original game's fast pace and approachable learning curve, while at the same time reflecting the many evolutions the genre has gone through in the last 10 years.

Character advancement in the original Vandal Hearts was simple and clear; fight, level up, and choose an upgrade every 10 levels. This kept the game both fast-paced and versatile, with the player able to customize characters without having to wade through too many menus. Flames of Judgment gives the player a wealth of options for each character, without requiring the player to stop and juggle menus at every upgrade. Gamers can simply play each character the way they want to and they can naturally improve.

Additionally, finishing off an opponent grants bonus experience to all seven skills - so that characters don't run the risk of over-specialization.

Magic Skills: Each individual spell has its own separate skill level, which works in tandem with the character's Magic Core Skill to calculate proficiency. Gamers can unlock the power of over two-dozen spells, then either build up their favorites, or broaden their training to conjure up whatever the situation demands.

Combat Skills: A skilled warrior knows how to hit from all sides, utilize the terrain, work with allies and draw first blood. By practicing all these maneuvers and more, players will be prepared for any fight.

Weapon Skills: Each character can carry up to two weapons into battle and can switch between them on the fly. They might carry a sword, axe, or dagger for man-to-man combat, a bow for faraway targets, a hammer for whirlwind strikes - just be careful of your friends who are nearby - and/or your own bare fists. Characters can master one weapon, or spread their training across two or more, as the player sees fit.

PSN Video Delivery Service Expands With Additional Content Providers

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) today announced the addition of a variety of entertainment offerings from Lucasfilm Ltd., Cinetic FilmBuff, ContentFilm International, Image Entertainment, Inc., MPI Media Group and New Video to the PlayStation®Network video delivery service. The content, which will be made available on November 2, 2009 for purchase or rent, further enhances the video delivery service’s already robust library of downloadable entertainment content, including new and favorite movies, television shows, sports, anime, original entertainment, and more.

The new content partners will provide a broad range of video entertainment, including Lucasfilm Ltd.’s Star Wars™: The Clone Wars; seasons 1 and 2 of the popular TNT series Leverage (Cinetic FilmBuff); Image Entertainment, Inc. feature films such as Powder Blue and Management; the horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre from MPI Media Group; Hurly Burly and Interstate 60 from ContentFilm International; and the online miniseries Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog from New Video. Additional entertainment content will be added over time.
