The Laughing Salesman is a Japanese animation about a rotund,
creepy little man who likes to lead troubled and unhappy people
down a path of harsh enlightenment.

This high-speed Super Mario playing is unbelievable.
I think it’s real though, I hope it’s real.

Splinter Cell Conviction looks like it will be pretty decent,
but I wonder if we will see the return of Sam Fisher’s trusty
Airwaves chewing gum in this outing?

Gratuitous product placement at its very best

Yojimbo is without a doubt one of my favourite films (and I really
need to get watching a lot more of the Akira Kurosawa / Toshiro Mifune
collaborations). It was unofficially remade as the western,
A Fistful of Dollars, and it’s often said that Clint Eastwood was
heavily influenced by Mifune’s acting.

This blog is turning into a bit of a Japan-fest, but there is just
so much awesome stuff over there. Gundam is an anime that first
started in 1979 and has continued since in various different forms.
The giant Gundam moves, makes noises and blows out steam!

Liking these Newspaper Blackout Poems by Austin Kleon,
tempted to have a wee go at it. Also, maybe this would be a swanky
way to write ransom notes, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Three Edinburgh-based creatives have constructed Cybraphon,
a self-absorbed robotic band. The music it plays is altered by
its mood, which changes depending on the amount of attention
it receives via Facebook and Myspace. It’ll be on show at
Inspace as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival 2009.
