Monday 1850

I was amazed at the couple whom we had worked with for a pre-wedding photo shoot last Saturday. Amazed because after a whole day of ‘working’ and later had dinner with us, they still managed to want to go to watch late night movie. I mean, aren’t they going to doze off in the cinema while watching movie? I know I would. In fact, as soon as we reached home and after some peeking at Facebook, I went straight to lala land. No counting sheep, no clouds of nice thoughts to lull me to sleep. No dreams at all. And only awaken when it’s already morning. I mean, I was THAT tired. Diana (the bride-to-be) said, they are used to not having much sleep and that they won’t hit the sack if it isn’t time for sleep yet.

Then today, I had a brief conversation with one colleague of mine. She was relaying to me how her weekend had been and how tired it was for her especially during the weekends. It was non-stop activities (house chores and outside activities) and no time for relax. Even during week days, the only time she could get some power nap is when she waits in the car for her children to come back from school. Wow!

Having no children yet, hubby and I are fortunate to spend all our weekend times without having to think about prioritizing children needs. Or to worry about house chores so much because the only mess we could have is unfolded fresh laundry. And being a person who loves my free time so much, I don’t fancy doing work-related stuffs on the weekend. For instance, one friend have asked if I would like to do tutoring for a tuition centre during the weekends. It’s a good thing, money wise. But I am just not ready to sacrifice my free time while I still have it.

But perhaps, I have been spoiling myself too much. Like making a point that I must have my afternoon nap after work (when it’s actually a 2 and half hours sleep) while some others think time is too precious to be spent napping that long. Or not wanting to make extra income just because I fear it will jeopardize my free time. Maybe, if I cut down my nap time, I could make use of the time wisely. Maybe. Maybe not.

Anyways, as much as I envy those who have sky-rocket energy, it is my call if I want to be one. I could be like the couple we met last Saturday or the colleague who’s working 24-7. But I also can choose to just do what I want to do and savor the privilege of having lots of free time now. Yeah, it’s my call.

As for having Duracell-powered energy, I guess, when the responsibilities build up, we cannot but have to stock up more on the bunny batteries more. Bah, nanti lah saya stock up itu bateri Duracell.

Some behind the scene photos from last Saturday.

Macam teda ja tu batu-batu dia pi limpang…

Since my height doesn’t come close to a model’s average height, and since Diana is, she gets to hold the flash gun for me.

A Polaroid photo of us with the great and fun-to-work-with couple. The Polaroid camera is theirs and Diana insisted that we get a copy of the photo as remembrance. Thank you!

Until next post!
*hugs*

Wednesday 1735

If you usually listen to Lite.fm, you’d probably have heard of this slot called, ‘Malaysian-Stating The Obvious’. Hubby and I were listening to this while recollecting our own state-the-obvious experiences. I don’t actually have much issue with it but sometimes, it just feel hilarious if I happen to come across such situation. And I’m sure it can be irritating at times especially when the person listening is someone like Dr Greg House. Sarcastic yo!

Here are our personal favorites:

# One

At a fast food restaurant…

Counter person: Selamat datang!! Makan di sini?

Dr House : *looking right, left and back* Bah, buli juga. Kalau tidak mengganggu customer lain la.

Of course, this one could be tolerate if it is in English. Somehow, translating it in BM sounds quite arguable.

# Two

At a hypermall…

Lady : Excuse me, ini bakul ka? *pointing at the stack of shopping baskets.

Dr House was at the back queuing in line and in his mind, “Tidak. Bukan bakul tu. Kerusi.”

# Three

Bumping on friends who are doing grocery shopping at the supermarket…

A: Hey, lama tidak jumpa! Shopping?

Dr House: Tidak lah. Swimming.

# Four (from the Lite.fm)

Caller : Hello, can you please pass this phone to the person in charge of so and so?

Receiver : Errr…probably can. But I think it would be a lot of hassle for me to get to your place and get the phone so that I can pass it to the person in charge.

*cricket sound*

Those are just some that we could remember. I’m pretty sure you have far better ones to share. Do you?

Until next post!
*hugs*

Friday 1401

I am the only daughter of four siblings and I was born third.
That means, I am technically a middle born child. In Malay, I’d be called <strike>Kak Ngah</strike> Kak Lang. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Growing with boys siblings, cornered in every angle, most people would expect me to become less girly.
In fact, I did experience the phase where I hated dresses so much that I would put up a tantrum every time mom forced me to try on a dress at the clothing shop. I think I was 10 or 11 when I had that.

I preferred long pants or Bermuda shorts that was one or two size bigger than my actual size so that the hem of the shorts would sit 3 inches below my knees. T-shirts were my besties. Not enough with just the clothing, my behavior too was kind of rough for a girl.
Mom had to persistently nagged me to change my walking style. She insisted that I walked ‘bangkang-bangkang’ while both hands would swayed so high as if I feared people would not noticed my hands. Ha!

Of course, that phase stopped the moment I started receiving ‘love letters’ from boys.
I learned to make myself presentable and … *cough*cough*.. pretty.
Learned to wear make up. Tell you a secret, I started using pencil eye liner when I was 12. No kidding. And eye liner tools have been my favourite make up tool up till today. I started tagging mom to the shop, hoping I could get to pick some nice dresses. Buying hair accessories to done my hair. Learning to smile back at the reflection of myself in the mirror. Owh come on! Don’t give me that cheeky smile now. You must have done this before. I still do!

So yeah, I did not turn up a tomboy when I grew up. That sent mom sighing in relief.
In fact, I turned out to be so girlish that I insisted on wearing only dresses when attending dinner functions such as weddings.
Keep my hair long (except for the time I decided to have a boy cut hair style and the male teachers where I did my practicum thought I was a Pengkid) to the extend that I refused to chop my hair when I was 16 (when everyone told me to) for I have bonded so much with my long hair.

Ok, enough about the becoming-tomboy-failed-big-time stories.
I actually wanted to tell you that, currently, I am so much into overalls and man-shirt dress.
What? What?

I am talking about these…

Once before, overalls equals mechanic or handy man cos these are jobs that usually wear overalls as their work uniform. And man shirt…well, it’s a man’s shirt. But the evolution of fashion has made these man’s wear become more feminine. And I am so loving it.

Ba-bah…my palm is itchy. Some shopping sites gonna be very happy soon.

Pleasant weekend y’all!

PS: Think you can tell right away? Try this site for a HeMale or a SheMale quiz.

Until next post!
*hugs*
