The Disenchanted Kingdom @ 99.5 RT :)

noreply@blogger.com (lonelytear21) — Fri, 01 Jul 2011 19:24:00 +0000

Its been a while since I become a avid radio listeners for the longest time, just like everybody else do browsing different radio stations that plays the latest and best hits that are currently on the charts now, for me music is freedom, freedom from all the dishonesty and unauthorized algorithms that a typical working people is experiencing in a daily basis.

And then last year, everything has change......

For me, it was a total turn off my deepest and hardest desire on finding things that would make me happy..

Literally.. ^_^

As I traverse that radio tuner on the 10th preset button ...hmmmm.... Oh! its my favorite station of all time!!

It is 99.5 RT : The Rhythm of the city ^_^

I've been a fan of this radio station since then because they play only the "best hits" and the "latest in the world" and one of the shows that catches my attention was a show composed of "Tado", "Ramon Bautista" and "Ms. Angel Rivero" collectively known as the "Brewrats Republic"

Its been a while since I listened to them because on the later part of the year the station had to reformatted for some company issues...

And the search for my happiness continues...

When there is nothing to do, I always turn on my radio enable mobile phone which is now very "bulok" and "luma" because we don't have any transistorized radio at home and it is too expensive for me to purchase the mp3 with a radio preset on it. haha!! I need to utilized everything just to fill up my need for entertainment. :)

And then one time....I came across again on the station which is before "Hit 99.5" I became confused on what station will it be now then it became "The Rhythm of the city : 99.5 RT" and my favorite show on this very station is "The Disenchanted Kingdom" ^_^

99.5 RT : The Rhythm of the city

noreply@blogger.com (lonelytear21) — Fri, 01 Jul 2011 08:15:00 +0000

"The Rhythm of the city: 99.5 RT"

On September 1, 2008 at 6 a.m., after two weeks of automated music programming, the station resumed its broadcast under the reinstated name 99.5 RT. Joshua Z was the first DJ to go on board that morning, followed by other jocks who have worked with the frequency's three incarnations (mostly from the RT roster and HiT and one from Campus). The station initially reused its old and familiar slogan, "The Rhythm Of The City". The playlist is more progressive and experimental, attempting to sound like RT's first Iteration. The deejays have a collective tone similar to parent station, Magic 89.9, due to the use of Tagalog-English or "Taglish" during live spiels.

They also introduced a yearly slogan, from 2009 - 2010, dubbing the station as playing "The Best Music on the Planet", which is now used in sister station in Davao, 105.9 Mix FM. For every Summer, it brought back the "Red Hot Radio" slogan, which was originally used from 1983 - 1988. Since 2010, they launched The Farm, a radio production, marketing music appreciation and on air training program for the beginner jocks.

Since October 2010, RT began to play some Modern Rock music, earning its 2nd yearly slogan, "The Drive", after the Sunday night-only program of the same name. Ironically, every top of the hour, they rarely play one of the songs from the late 90s and early 2000s, which are usually heard on 24K Weekend. However, CHR is still retained as its initial format. It is unknown whether RT will become an all-rock radio station, similar to its sister station Jam 88.3, after the demise of NU 107.
