Function at the Junction Community Celebration

On Saturday, June 27, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, we'll host our Function at the Junction Community Celebration.

This community-wide event will include:

Bring your oldest Mt. Zion T-shirt for a chance to win a prize!

We encourage everyone to invite friends, family members, neighbors, and coworkers to attend. Please share the VBS invitation and registration link throughout the community.

Men's, Fathers & Sons Fellowship Breakfast

The Image Bearers Men's Ministry is hosting a Men's, Fathers & Sons Fellowship Breakfast next Saturday at 8:00 AM in the Multipurpose Room.

All males are invited to attend. Single mothers, we especially encourage you to send your sons. If transportation is needed, please let us know.

Men, this is an opportunity to encourage one another, build relationships, and model godly manhood for the next generation.

Next Sunday is Youth Day, and we are excited to see our young people leading in worship and service.

While the Youth Choir will not be singing this year, we are looking forward to celebrating the gifts, accomplishments, and leadership of our youth.

Join us as we encourage and invest in the next generation of disciples and leaders.

Bereavements

Please keep several families in your prayers during this season of loss.

We ask that you pray for Bro. Calvin Gray and his family as they grieve the passing of his niece and aunt. This is Sis. Janelle Wallace's cousin and great-aunt. Pray for God's comfort, peace, and strength, as well as safe travels for family members journeying to Alabama for the services.

We also ask you to pray for the family of former Mt. Zion member Cathy Durden, the sister of Donita Harrison, wife of Deacon Wes Harrison. May the Lord surround all who are grieving with His presence and sustaining grace.

As part of VBS week, we'll host a special Function at the Junction Community Celebration on Saturday, June 27, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

This event will feature food, fellowship, and fun for the entire family. Activities will include:

Cornhole and horseshoes
Chess and card games
Line dancing
Kickball

I would like to personally thank the Care Ministry and all of you for the birthday wishes, gifts, cards, and expressions of kindness. You helped make it an incredible birthday celebration. In fact, I've been celebrating all month long alongside all of the wonderful May babies in our church family.

Happy Memorial Day

As we celebrate Memorial Day weekend, we want to wish everyone a safe and blessed holiday.

For many, this weekend will include time with family, travel, cookouts, and rest. But as we enjoy these moments, let us not forget the true meaning of Memorial Day.

This day is set aside to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the military for our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom often comes at a great cost.

Theological Seminar

We all experience broken relationships. Whether it’s a short-lived disagreement with a friend or years of silence between family members, fractured relationships cause deep pain. Sometimes we’ve been hurt. Other times, we are the ones who have caused the hurt.

The good news is that Jesus has provided a powerful pathway to healing through forgiveness and repentance.

Our church theme is Making Peace, Making Disciples, so we want to focus on peacemaking and reconciliation. Join us for our upcoming Theological Seminar on 4/18 at 9 AM on the topic “Healing Relationships”.

Many of us have been told to forgive or repent through gritted teeth and sheer willpower—but few of us have been shown how to offer forgiveness or repentance that flows from a transformed heart. Jesus has created us for deep, abiding relationships—relationships that not only withstand conflict but grow stronger through it.

During this Theological Seminar, we will engage in:

Bring the kids out for a fun-filled afternoon of hunting eggs and hearing the true meaning of Easter—that we celebrate Jesus! We will have over 1,300 eggs and food available.

Please don’t be late! Our children are expert egg hunters and tend to find the eggs very quickly. We don’t want anyone to miss out because they arrived 10 or 15 minutes after the start time.

Donation Update: Watoto – Neighborhood Mothers

Thank you to everyone who supported the Watoto Neighborhood Mothers during their recent visit.

We’ve learned that some may have experienced issues with Watoto’s online giving platform on Friday. If you attempted to give and were unable to do so, you can still participate. Please give your donation directly to Mt. Zion and clearly note that it is designated for Watoto. We will ensure it reaches the ministry.

My Hope Sunday

Next Sunday is My Hope Sunday.

We are asking every member to commit to inviting at least one unbeliever or unchurched person to join us for worship. Our goal is to fill the sanctuary with those who need to hear the Good News of the Gospel.

During the service, we will boldly and clearly share our hope in Jesus Christ.

In light of current global tensions—particularly the escalating conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran—many are anxious and uncertain. War and the threat of war can cause people to lose hope and wonder what is happening in our world.

Our message next Sunday will be titled:
“My Hope in Wars & Rumors of Wars.”

In unstable times, the church must point people to a stable Savior. When nations rage and uncertainty rises, our hope is not in governments or geopolitics, but in the sovereign reign of Christ.

Let’s pray fervently, invite boldly, and trust God to move powerfully.

My Hope Sunday

My Hope Sunday is coming up on March 8, and we are asking every member to participate intentionally.

Each member is encouraged to:

Commit to inviting at least one unbeliever or unchurched person
Write down the name(s) of those you are praying for and inviting
Submit those names next Sunday

If you attend virtually, you can submit your names through the Contact Us form and select “My Hope Sunday” as the subject.

On that Sunday, we will clearly and joyfully share our hope in Jesus Christ. Begin inviting your guests this week and pray for open hearts and divine appointments.

Leading up to My Hope Sunday, we will be sharing testimonies of hope—real stories of God’s faithfulness.

One such testimony comes from Sis. Francine Thorne, who experienced the anguish of not knowing where her son was for a long time and the joy of seeing him found. Her story is a powerful reminder that even in our darkest moments, God remains present, active, and faithful.

Hope is not abstract—it is personal. And we look forward to sharing more stories of how God has moved in the lives of His people.

Watoto Neighbourhood Tour

We are honored to host the Watoto Neighbourhood Tour this Friday at 7:00 PM.

This inspiring evening will feature stories of hope, healing, empowerment, and transformation from mothers in Uganda and South Sudan whose lives have been changed by the love of Jesus. Their testimonies are living proof that the gospel is at work around the world.

Church-Wide Prayer Rally

Our next Church-Wide Prayer Rally is this Tuesday at 7:00 PM. The Singles Ministry is hosting, but this is for the entire church family.

Join us for one hour of focused, corporate prayer. You can submit prayer requests online or place them in the prayer box at the back of the sanctuary. There is power in praying together.

New Sermon Series: “Reconciling Love” (Hosea)

Next Sunday, we begin a new sermon series in the book of Hosea titled “Reconciling Love.”

In this series, we’ll explore how God’s steadfast, reconciling love pursued His people despite their spiritual adultery. We’ll also consider how that same covenant love shapes our human relationships—especially in marriage. This promises to be a deeply challenging and encouraging study.

Ash Wednesday & The Season of Lent

This Wednesday marks Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.

We will offer the anointing with ashes as a visible sign of mourning over sin and repentance toward God. Anointing will take place:

Right after Bible Study (arrive around 7:50 PM)
Or between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, when an elder will be available at the church

Lent is a 40-day season (not counting Sundays) of fasting and prayer leading up to Easter. Fasting is a voluntary act of abstaining from something to grow in self-discipline and spiritual focus. As Christians, we find our security and satisfaction in Christ. We can give something up because Christ means more to us than whatever we surrender.

We are encouraging everyone to participate in a church-wide partial fast during Lent. A partial fast may include:

Abstaining from certain foods or drinks
Fasting from a habit such as social media, television, streaming services, gaming, or hobbies

May this be a season where we draw closer to the Lord and deepen our dependence on Him.

Bible Study

This year, our Bible Study will journey through the book of Isaiah under the theme “Judgment, Comfort, and Restoration.” For the month of January, we’ll begin with Isaiah chapters 1–6, where God confronts sin, reveals His holiness, and lovingly calls His people back to Himself—laying the foundation for hope and renewal.

We invite you to read Isaiah chapter 1 and join us on Wednesday at 7:00 pm as we hear both the warning and the promise of a holy God who restores His people.

Habitat for Humanity Interest Meeting

Housing and homelessness continue to be growing concerns in our community. Mt. Zion is partnering with Habitat for Humanity in two meaningful ways:

Joining other churches to help build homes
Advocating alongside other churches before the Cary Town Council

Bible Translation Donation Update

We want to express sincere thanks for your generosity toward our Bible Translation Project. Final Bible Study of the Year

As we wrap up the year, we invite you to join us for our final Bible Study of the year as we complete our study of the Song of Solomon: The Joy and Intimacy of Covenant Love.

We especially encourage young adults, those preparing for marriage, and married couples to join us as we grow together in understanding God’s design for love and covenant.

Care Ministry Senior Living Visit

Song of Solomon Bible Study

We invite you to join us for a special two-part Bible Study on the Song of Solomon on December 3 and December 10. Together, we’ll explore the joy and intimacy of covenant love found in this beautiful book of Scripture.

This study will be especially meaningful for young adults, those considering marriage, and married couples, but everyone is welcome to join us as we learn and grow together.
