Father’s Day is a day of grilling and spending time outdoors – fishing, beach, and other fun summer activities. So how about cooling Dad down with some fun tequila drink recipes. Tequila Partida is a great choice for these recipes, because they can be savored in a glass or mixed with other ingredients to create exquisite cocktails.

For sipping, try Partida Reposado. Partida is made with 100% blue agave, so it is smooth and delicious for sipping. It is NOT the young, 51% tequila used for shots that you need salt and lime to cover up the harshness. With a quality tequila like Partida Reposado, salt and lime will only interfere with its rich flavor with scents of vanilla, hazelnut and almond.

If your husband or dad loves a good margarita (I know my husband does), then bring out the Partida Blanco. Boasting a soft floral aroma and blended perfectly with hints of citrus, fresh herbs and tropical fruit, this crisp tasting premium Tequila would be a perfect complement to your favorite margarita recipe. My favorite recipe is this Pineapple Margarita.

Now, finally a “manly” drink for Father’s Day. Someone once told me that the manliest drink to order at a bar was an “Old Fashioned, No Fruit“. Now, I don’t want to deprive dad of fruit in the privacy of his own home – and I think it enhances a drinks flavor, especially with Partida Anejo, which is aged in American oak one-pass Jack Daniels barrels and packed with zest. It has a fruity aroma that comes from a light blend of cherry, almond, dried fruit and spices.

The recipe for the Anejo Old Fashioned and other drink ideas can be found in the recipe section of the Partida Tequila website. Or simply upgrade the tequila you usually use in your drinks with 100% agave Tequila Partida!

My husband LOVES bathing suit shopping for me. Sweet, right? He couldn’t wait for me to get a new bikini to wear to Ormond Beach for our summer vacations. Of course, he was hoping to see me try on a few suits in the process – fun for him, demoralizing for me as I work to hide well-shaped hips and a small bust. But this year I still managed to get a chic bathing suit that is pleasing to his eye, complements my figure and no fitting rooms were needed for the process.

This year my summer 2012 bathing suit came from SwimSpot.com. There are a few ways of finding the suit you want from SwimSpot, all from high-quality designers such as Athena, Nautica, Hurley, Guess and other popular options. You can shop by designer, style, trends, body type, color, size and price. You can also utilize their Fit Specialist and fun Bikini Builder!

Actually, after over a decade of buying bikinis I have a pretty good idea of what looks good on my athletic figure – you know, when your bust, waist and hips are pretty much a straight line. I like bright bandeau tops, because they give the illusion that there are curves. I prefer when straps are over my shoulder with some padding, but it’s not always necessary. And for the bottom, I recently dumped boy shorts because they actually added “size” to my hips. To make them look slimmer I prefer a moderate coverage bikini bottom – and I like the look of tied sides.

I fell in LOVE with the color and stripes of the Splendid – Marcel Stripe Sweetheart Bikini Top and Retro Bikini Bottom. I could actually have ordered the top in a Small, I am a 36 inch back and size A cup. I think the Medium I ordered, which I did because of my wide back, ended up a tad too wide when taking my cup size into consideration. So it just means I have to be careful when moving around. But the bottom is PERFECT. Love it! So sporty and sexy. Great coverage too, considering I am chasing and playing with my two little boys at the beach and pool. If you want to order the same bikini, or something in a similar color/style – check out the designer Splendid.

Back in February I wrote a list of 11 Direct Sales Opportunities that women may be interested in. Well, looks like I need to update it – because I recently discovered a DELICIOUS Direct Sales Opportunity from premier chocolatier Lindt!

Lindt Chocolate R.S.V.P. is a sweet way to have fun with friends and earn money as a consultant. Hosts can secure free chocolate, special discounts and a party their friends will want to emulate. And friends who come will talk up the party, broadening the consultants opportunity to increase sales. And the best part is, the market is not saturated with these kinds of parties or direct sales consultants yet – you can be the first in your area!

The host and consultant can work together to create a simple and fun party. Popular examples include:

Wine & Chocolate

Dessert & Drink

Chocolate Fondue

Just last week I had the opportunity to play Host with my own modified Lindt Chocolate R.S.V.P. party. Since we had kids at the party (entertained by a water slide in the back yard) I decided on the Dessert & Drink party. Normally the consultant would bring the chocolate, while the host preps the other ingredients. But I was actually taking on both roles, so I did some fun work (and taste-testing) to get the party running as smooth as Lindt!

First, I sent a Facebook invitation to local friends. They were ALL excited when I mentioned chocolate. Then I sent them reminders the day before, because many moms overbook and forget the fun events they have planned. The day before I also got busy melting chocolate. I was making Iced Mocha (with a splash of Creme de Cocoa) and Panna Cotta with a Chocolate Sauce. Finally, I packaged up some sampler packages so my friends could take chocolates home to taste and prepped up all the utensils, plates, serving dishes, etc. for the party.

The day of the party, I set everything up. We had some lunch food to eat AFTER dessert. I put the Iced Coffee out on the table and served all the moms, which was perfect to offset the afternoon heat. We also had water available to cleanse anyone’s palate. After the Iced Mocha’s, we sampled three different bars of chocolate – White Coconut, Extra Creamy and 70% Cocoa Bar. During the tasting we chatted about using our senses to really notice the difference in Lindt from other chocolates. (Sight, Touch, Hearing, Smell and …. TASTE!)

On the table I also set up some strawberries and marshmallows to dip into a Lindt Chocolate Fudge Sauce. It ALL disappeared, so I take it that it was delicious! (Item #3296)

Then I served up the Panna Cotta, which was SO EXQUISITE. No one ever had it before, but the Lindt Chocolate Passion Cookbook was SO EASY TO FOLLOW and had so many wonderful recipes to try. Panna Cotta involves very few ingredients, no baking and is cool and creamy for summer. One friend even took a picture of the recipe from the book, while I have requests for the recipe from other friends.

Overall, I can see how these parties can be a success. After plying your guests with chocolate, desserts and drinks you can let them look through the catalog for gift ideas and baking inspiration! And if you are attending a party soon, I definitely suggest ordering the Lindt Chocolate Passion Recipe Book (Item 53295). This hard cover book has a unique collection of chocolate dessert and drink recipes that are perfect for entertaining throughout the years. A must-have for bakers an a great gift idea!

When you join the Lindt Chocolate RSVP team you receive Business Starter Kit that really gives you a professional, tasteful edge. It includes a tray, tongs, catalogs, apron, the Lindt Chocolate Passion Recipe Book and a variety of chocolates and chocolate bars for sampling and baking. And like most direct sales opportunities, you decide how much you will earn! If you have 4 parties a month with sales of $500 each, you’ll earn a monthly commission of $700. Annual income would be $8,400. If you increase your parties and sales to $2,500/week – you’ll be earning a monthly commission of $3,500 with an annual income of $42,000! Wonderful!

Want to host a party or become a Lindt Chocolate R.S.V.P. Consultant? Visit: LindtChocolateRSVP.com to learn more!

My mom friends know that backpacks are my best friends. From using them as “diaper bags” when my kids were younger to “back packing” around theme parks with all our necessities – our backpacks get just as much as use out of school as in school.

Last year I purchased a Large Fairfax Boy Backpack from Pottery Bark Kids for my son to use during the school year. I bought it because I wanted something that would last YEARS, not simply be used 1 school year and then would have to be replaced. I figured if I bought a quality backpack for a little extra it would last longer – and so far I’ve been right.

The Fairfax for boys is available in Red with Navy Trim, Navy with Green Trim and Green with Turquoise Trim. I chose the Red with Navy Trim, because it matched his school uniform. Then I chose to have it embroidered with his initials ($7 extra), to make it special. The back pack ended up being huge, measuring 12.5″ wide x 7.5″ deep x 17″ high. It even has a second zipper that allows it to have more inside-space – approximately 2 inches – when unzipped.

The Large Fairfax backpack is ideal for children measuring 4 feet or taller. My son was around 3 and a half feet when I bought it at the beginning of the school year. It was cute. But I’d definitely agree that a Small Fairfax Backpack would have been easier for him to use in Kindergarten and probably even first grade.

The Large Fairfax backpack is full of pockets, both on the outside and inside, which makes it useful for holding books, lunch bags, snack bags, pencils, wallets, phones, water bottles – you name it! There is even an MP3 holder and you can thread the earphone wires through a grommet so you can listen to music as you walk. And there are rings on the outside of the school bag to allow complementing lunch bags to “piggy back”. (Lunch bags sold separately.)

For the past year I have had no rips, tears, or stuck zippers. The Fairfax backpack is dependable and sturdy, made from rugged, water-resistant 600-denier polyester. I can’t wait to use it this summer as we head to vacation spots and explore the sites (and sights) around Florida staycation-style.

You can do more than just a monogram with a Fairfax backpack. We recently received a new Fairfax for my other son to use, same size and color as my oldest son’s! But this one was personalized with a Shark – so perfect for summer. Just like the monogram, this one was sturdily done and is quality work! And it helps them easily identify which backpack belongs to which boy! By having a monogram or patch on the backpack, you really allow the children to “own” the item, making it more unique and special for them. Other currently available patches are: turtle, alligator, triceratops, seahorse, hibiscus, and butterflies.

Father’s Day is around the corner! One popular gift for dads and husbands is cologne, of course. I love buying new scents and old favorites for my husband. And he goes through it FAST – but he also always smells good.

A new scent that was just launched this year is men’s fragrance ARROGANT by English Laundry. It is a rich, cedar scent blended with notes of bergamot and cedar wood. it is composed of lavender and coriander, with a core of sandalwood and amber.

Arrogant is 15% oil strength. It has impressive lasting-power, between 12 – 24 hours. Definitely long enough for work and/or evening events. It’s great for special occasions, as well as every day use.

TOP NOTES: Bergamot and Cedar Wood
MID-NOTES: Lavender and Coriander
BASE NOTES: Sandalwood and Amber

The packaging and bottle is as bold as the fragrance. A thick, clear bottle encases the light golden cologne. A thick plastic top covers the silver push-down spray top. The logo of a lion and horse is somehow smoothly featured on the bottle. You can’t even feel the design on the bottle, completely smooth to the touch.

The cologne bottle is in a flip open box with a smooth, velvet-like interior. The inner case also has the silver logo appearing on the soft black background. This box, when closed, Slides into an outer brown box. The logo is copper-colored on this, with a distressed appearance on the edges. Overall, great presentation.

Arrogant is available at Dillard’s Department right now. A large 3.4 ounce eau de parfum spray retails for $64. 1.7 oz and .85 oz sizes are also available. For Father’s Day, also consider a gift pack featuring the fragrance, shower gel, after-shave balm and a designer key chain for $84.

Packing your car for college can be a daunting task. That’s why we have provided this helpful car-packing guide that will help you plan, prep, prioritize and pack for college.

Whether you’re helping your high school grad pack up his or her car for college or you’re the one loading up for your big adventure, the best bet for a smooth drive is to pack the car wisely. Follow this helpful car-packing guide before embarking on College-Bound Way.

Plan. It’s vital that you have a car-packing plan in place before the day of your departure. Whether it’s by making a list or sitting down to talk it over, be sure to plan your packing list and car-packing strategy before the day you actually have to leave.

Prep. When it comes to prepping before you actually pack your car, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First, forget packing in suitcases and cardboard boxes. These large items are often unnecessary and take up too much valuable real estate in your car and your dorm room once you get to school. Consider packing your toiletries in your bathroom caddy, packing clothes in your laundry bag and school supplies in your backpack. Secondly, be sure to check your car’s tire pressure before hitting the road. Especially with the extra weight you’ll be packing into your car and trunk, it’s important to be sure your tires have the air they need to stay fully inflated.

Prioritize. After you decide and plan what you actually want to bring to school, and after you do your prep work, you should prioritize how you are going to pack. The experts at Consumer Reports suggest that you prioritize what you pack by loading all of your necessities first. Then continue packing from most important to least important items so, if you do run out of room,
you won’t have to repack the entire car to determine what’s necessary. Also, remember to keep items you’ll need during your trip easily accessible. From maps and a GPS to an emergency kit and your cell phone, keep the essentials on the passenger’s seat or in the glove compartment. But remember, a distracted driver is not a safe driver, so be sure to pull over or take break at a rest stop when it’s time to eat, make a call or reprogram your GPS.

Pack. Finally, when it comes to actually packing up your car, don’t over-pack. Try to keep the weight of your goods evenly distributed throughout the entire car. Make sure you have the visibility you need to stay safe on the road and be sure to secure all loose items that could be dangerous to you if you have to stop suddenly.

If you follow this simple car-packing guide you’re sure to take some of the hassle out of your college-bound journey. Another way to prepare for the “College or Bust!” car ride is to make sure you have the vehicle insurance you need to keep you and your car safe and protected during your undergrad adventures. So request a quote and find the car insurance coverage you need on the way to your dorm-room destination.

GET BOLD SUMMER COLOR
Normally I do a simple dark brown or black. But this summer stylists are saturating the season with a bold, bright look that screams fun in the sun. Update your look with a brand new hue and remember to save 20% off your color service! Some 2012 hair trends to consider:

A few well-placed streaks of color that contrast with your hair color. I love purple for dark hair and pink for light hair.

Go ombre with darker near the roots and lighter at the ends. For example, I could go from ebony on top to a glossy light brown on the bottom. Blondes can try sun-kissed ends and medium-blonde lowlights.

Multi-hued is hot, adding definition to your style with 2 or 3 colored hues featured in your hair. You can stick to hues that blend in or opt for the bold trend by trying unique hues of reds, blues, and violet in your hair.

The color this summer season isn’t blonde or over the top highlights. The word on the runway is that coppers, auburns and chestnut browns will have plenty of fun this summer.

Finally, Pinterest is full of rainbow-inspired dip-dyed multi-lights. Try it out on summer vacation to let your wild side loose!

Two years ago we celebrated my son’s birthday at Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekend(s). It was a complete blast when my sons were then two and four. Between the Hyperspace Hoopla Dance Party and so many characters to meet-n-greet, we were all in awe. So we decided to celebrate my son’s 6th birthday once again at Hollywood Studios for yet another Star Wars Weekend.

We went opening weekend, Friday the 18th. We made sure to get there JUST as the park opened, because we knew it would be a mad-rush of Disney and Star Wars savvy fans. And many of these fans with children would be making a mad dash to sign their kids up for Jedi Training Academy. This is something you do early in the morning – and once all time slots are filled…they are filled.

We had booked a room at the Caribbean Beach resort the night before, so our room keys were also our Disney passes. We arrived at the park at 7:15 am. We stood in line for 30 minutes and then storm troopers came down to entertain the crowd and officially let us in the park. Once we entered, we immediately made a bee-line for the Indiana Jones theater, where they were signing in children. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR CHILDREN TO ENTER. A fast adult cannot run ahead and get entrance or stand in line, Disney staff will not admit you onto the line without the children.

For Star Wars Weekends they seem to have double the shows and admit double the amount of kids into each show. My boys were #20 and #21 to be admitted, without me running. Just walk fast, is my tip. The Jedi Training Academy is intended for children 4 – 12 years of age. They ask them a few simple questions, like are they ready to fight for the force and will they follow instructions. Then we received a slip of paper with their name (non-transferable) and their time slot. We were the 9:45 time slot, but we had to return early to keep out time slot. They wanted us there by 9:15 just to make sure everything was running smoothly.

Now, let me give you this tip. Toy Story Mania fills up FAST. The line wait can be an hour or more. The best way to ride it is with a Fast Pass, which also can disappear by the end of the day. So, if you want to get a good time on Toy Story Mania, head there ASAP. So while I was online with the boys to sign up for Padawan Training, my husband took our tickets to get Fast Passes for the family. It worked out perfectly.

And by the time he got Fast Passes for Toy Story Mania and I had gotten the boys signed up for the Jedi Training Academy, there were still not too many people in the way back of the park by the updated Star Tours ride. So we got on with only a 5 minute (if that) wait! It was AWESOME! The boys LOVED IT! And the 3-D was nice and smooth, no one complained of nausea.

There were also many Storm Troopers walking around the park, really giving everyone a laugh. And we also met up with the Tusken Raiders roaming the area. Chewbacca, and Ewok, Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul, Darth Vader and a few other characters had lines you had to stand in to meet them. We stood in a quick line for Anakin Skywalker, which the birthday boy really wanted to do.

My family pretty much did everything we wanted to do by 12:30. Star Tours, Padawan Training, Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror, Indiana Jones, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, meet-n-greets and photo ops, and Muppet 3-D. We ended up getting a Fast Pass to go on Star Tours a second time and I have to say, the second time was even BETTER. I love how they have different story lines and destinations!

We did end up missing this years Hyperspace Hoopla, because they only had 1 showing instead of the two shows they had 2 years ago. And I had to meet up with my sister at T-Rex Cafe to celebrate HER BIRTHDAY too! Yup! We celebrated 2 birthdays there – my sister and my son- so it was funtabulous!

Overall, LOVE Star Wars Weekend at Hollywood Studios. I can’t imagine a better time to visit that specific park. I’ll save the rest of the year for the other Disney Parks. If you are interested in going, there are three more weekends to attend. Star Wars Weekend(s) is every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 18-June 10, 2012. Learn more at DisneytheForce.com.

And if you like the shirts my boys are wearing – I bought them from MyEmmyBaby on Etsy! This is my second time making THIS PURCHASE from her! I bought two personalized Star War Shirts from her in 2008 for our first Star Wars weekend and got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS. And the boys loved them. So I had to buy them again! They are perfect for this event!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PA Tourism. All opinions are 100% mine.

My mom and sister are awesome at planning big roadtrips and vacations. Me, not so much. I get confuddled easily by what we should stop and see, which roads to take, where to rest, sleep or eat and so on. So I am THRILLED that visitPA.com has done the dirty work to make pa-roadtrips easy to plan. They did the actual planning, so all we have to do is pick a Pennsylvania road trip that interests us, pack and follow their plan using the Fantastic Roadtrip-a-Matic on visitPA.com.

The Fantastic Roadtrip-a-Matic means you don’t have to spend months planning – great for spur of the moment memories! They have ready-to-ride roadtrips for any type of Pennsylvania visitor. You can explore the excitement of the outdoors, enjoy small town charm, visit historic landmarks and so much more. It even has kid-friendly sites and destinations! The Roadtrip-a-Matic has a roadtrip for everyone.

For example, I want to plan a trip with my boys (4 & 6) and my husband. I personally love haunted adventures. My husband loves history. And the kids – well, they love “spooky” like skeletons and monsters. (I have the coolest kids!) So I decided to check out what they had for Ghost Rides. Under that selection I could choose from:

Goblins and Ghouls, Oh My!

Take a Ride on the Spooky Side

I chose Goblins and Ghouls and it gave me a 3-day itinerary, complete with places to eat, maps, places to sleep and detours! How cool is that. It was jam-packed with ideas that all of us would love, so no chance to get bored. For example, we would be able to visit Evans City Cemetery – Butler County’s zombie capital. (The boys LOVE zombies!) And my husband would love to stop and see Washington’s Landing. In 1753, George Washington’s raft capsized, forcing him to take shelter on the island. Rumors say that Washington’s spirit has returned here to haunt the eastern end of the Island. And I am “squeeing” about taking a Castle Ghost Tour at Nemacolin Castle!

Remember, a spooky sightseeing tour like the one I’d choose is just one possible roadtrip. On the Fantastic Roadtrip-a-matic it’s easy to find a PA roadtrip you’d love! Check it out and let me know what PA roadtrip you’d choose!

I didn’t even know there was any other way to shred. Even the most powerful shredder I owned required that I stand over it, shredding document after document. Every now and then I tempt it with a stack of papers to eat and it would grind slowly. I could tell I was upsetting it and would limit it to a few sheets again.

But there is a new way to shred, demanding less of your time so you can attend to more productive tasks. It’s the Swingline Stack & Shred 80x. Sounds like a fitness DVD, right? But nope, this is a real shred-your-documents shredder. Stack up to 80 sheets of papers inside, shut the machine and it will cross-cut your papers so no one else can get their hands on your valuable information. This is GREAT for small offices, home offices and even home-use. I like that I can go over my bills with my husband, pay online, then shred all the papers we don’t need. And it’s PERFECT for the annual purge of the filing cabinet.

Swingline actually has a few different hands-free shredders to choose from. The larger the model, the more beneficial features you can take advantage of. For example, the 80x has automatic jam clearance, where is will automatically reverse and re-feed the stuck papers to clear a jam. If there is a REAL jam that requires some human help an LED light will alert you.

It is also designed for 1 – 2 person use. That means it holds more shreddable papers than some of the other Swingline Shredders (80 sheets) and also has a larger waste bin (5 gallons). Finally, I love that it has a self-clean feature to extend the cutter life. Because, uhm, I never think of cleaning the shredder.

So to recap, the Swingline Stack & Shred 80x self-cleans, self-shreds, cross-cuts, clears its own jams and has a larger capacity for paper. And you know what, if you feel the need to manually feed your you can still do that with the Stack & Shred 80x. For example, if you want to personally see a picture of an ex shredded to cross-cut, unsalvagable bits … you can do it. It can also shred credit cards, paper clips and staples.

See it in action:

It makes a fabulous Father’s Day gift, with an MSRP of $200. Other models of the Stack & Shred start at $150.
