1. The Economic Rule of Thumb (The 60/40 Limit)

If you make $100 and consider hiring others to do the work, a general rule of thumb for delegation is the $50/$50 split. As an owner, you should be willing to give up a maximum of 50% to 60% of the total revenue to hire help.

What you keep (Net Profit): $40 to $50. This is your return for managing the process, taking the business risk, and providing the initial vision.
What you give up (Labor & Tools): $50 to $60. This pays for employees, contractors, or operational tools.

Why this works: If your profit falls below $40 for every $100 generated, your return on investment for the management effort required usually becomes too low. At that point, it may make more sense to do the work yourself or pivot the business model. If you have to give up more than $60, your business is no longer scaling effectively.

2. Time Multiplier Test

Deciding if passive income is worth it relies on evaluating your time value versus the cost of labor. Outsourcing work results in passive income that is truly "worth it" when the formula for Return on Time outweighs active income:

( passive Income x Hours Saved) > ( Active Hourly Rate x Hours Worked )

Active Scenario: If you do all the work yourself, you make $100 but have 0 free time.
Passive Scenario: You hire someone to do the work, and they take $60 of your revenue. You now make $40 passively on that sale.

If freeing up those hours allows you to run multiple passive streams, your total income potential scales indefinitely, whereas active income is capped by the 24 hours in a day.

3. Subjective Value (When to Take Less)

Opinions on forum communities differ, but most successful business owners agree that passive or semi-passive income brings intrinsic value beyond just the numbers:

Thats exactly what two of the three brothers wished for ...

Fables tell of a similar story of three brothers of great potential sharing same blood ....who did experience a similar moment ...

They underwent immense pain and suffering for 100s of years of pennance to accumalate enough cosmic strength that caused the lord of creation to grant them a boon each ...

The first brother asked for power so great , that it would rival a 1000 elephants ... and So Brahma said tatahstu and he became a powerfull giant , so big that no one on the earth could match his strength ...

The 2nd brother asked for immortality ...

and So Brahma said : no being, other than a puny human, who any which ways is so puny that obviously would never bring you any harm, so ya no other being in the entirety of creation other than a puny human can bring about your death ....

And so grew the arrogance and lust and corruption of the 2nd Brother turning him into a tyrant like no other ... a monster who conquered all 3 realms, Heaven, Hell, and Earth ,, no being in any universe could bring about his end .. A dark power unleashed to torture all realities for 1000s of years ....

How ever ...little is known about the Third Brother ....

I found this extremely fascinating and insight full that, a sound mind, is far more fruitful and powerful than wealth or power or fame ..

I have always purposely not given in to the pressure of keeping posting just for the sake of keeping posting, this blog has always been my place of freedom, and so i refused to let it be a place that binds me , just the way love should be, absolute fuckingly free. So I have always held that ill only write something when i feel like it, and so here i am back to my fav spot trying to get it all out...

its been a crazy year so far, a lot of bad news, one after the other, it all started with moms back , which then lead to her knees getting strained , which then evolved to her boil which had to get operated to be removed , from there we fast farfoward to her knee replacement surgery in march , then dads pancreatactmy , in between which we had ushma go through 2 susquent hospitalisation procedures ...

so round and round we go about these hospitals again and again , and to top it all the news around our social circle is further worse , drithi undergoing even worse illness , and bhabhijis mother expiring etc, there seems no end to all the bad news flowing in ,

how ever , the good among all this has been my job...

we are now just lying low and waiting for September to come by and welcome the newest member to our family....So wake me up when September ends

So here i am yet again caught up in the same bullshit pattern, but it's not that bad this time around.

I have started to come to accept a few of my traits and so my plan now revolves around this pattern taking it into my stride. we shall grow stronger and learn and evelove from this, all financialy physicaly and metally.

I have been repeatedly told my life to look for and enjoy and stay in the present. there still are joyfull moments in the present to live for.

I feel a bit alienated though

at this phase of my life i have come to find that my charisma is fading

and people respond lesser and lesser to my quirks

even though this is my own doing , i have over the years slowly and steadily but succesfully trained them to expect less and less from me

and so today now that i have tie a bit , its really not taking me anywhere

because i guess yati was right

its people

people are what life is, and without them , it feels like a still water body

this stint has taught me that there is nothing to be ashamed of

, this is who i am

i really was never meant to be a some smart shrewd business person

i have never sold anything in my life

and so no matter how good of a builder you might be

you are a terrible sales person and for that reason untill you develop that sales muscle of yours dont start a business they will all result in loss

like they have so far

i am also a very complacent person

and my mind always finds an excuse for me to not go though with the ideas submitted to me by the cosmos because it find some or the other flaws in it and tells me that this isnt a full proof idea enough to dedicate your entire life to it

that is a lie that my mind tells me , but even though i know that it's a lie i still let it roll by because i am lazy

also being a good brnad a, good sales man is all bout weaving a good story around you

he launched witht this story and a brand , and belief and conviction and that's why he sells

he made the maps project live to get people invested not just in the product but it's story

may b cause of less time you feel you shouldn't do it

so i realised that i feel wronged and betrayed by people not recognising my brilliance and asking me to do trivial jobs ...!!!

and then i feel frustrated that I am being forced to waste my time doing these trivial jobs and so i start blaming them for me not performing to my best of abilities .....!!!

and this is how I pass the blame for not performing by putting it on them ...!!

even if people haven't recognised your brilliance you need to take this as motivation to perform even better ,,,,and not use it as an excuse to not perform further.....!!!

and something inside me is inherently changing..
I never realized but all of my wants prior to this were in one way or another fueled by my want of impressing girls .
I never noticed it before but now that I am married my outlook towards conversations with girls is changing drastically ...
I can see myself reacting differently to their quirks now ...
any conversation or for that matter anything i did or anything i ever wanted at the base of it was seemed like was fueled by my desire to land my perfect girl.
now i seem to be losing interest in almost all things , especially in people and activities .
I feel like I have to rediscover who i really am now .
I dont even want to change the world any more also now can u believe that
how shallow was i that my want to change the world also was unknowingly fueled by my desire to impress girls it seems
