In order to lose weight for life, you will have to conquer all 12 types. Look over the list -- which type of emotional hunger derails your diet?

Type 1. Dulling The Pain With The Food.

If you get really hungry when you feel angry, depressed, anxious, bored, or lonely, you suffer from Type 1 emotional hunger, and you use food to dull the pain that these emotions cause.

Type 2. Sticks And Stones May Break Your Bones, But Cake Won't Heal What Hurts You.

According to Dr. Gould and Mastering Food, if you react by getting hungry when others talk down to you, take advantage of you, belittle you or take you for granted, then you suffer from Type 2 emotional hunger. You eat to avoid confrontation.

Type 3. A Full Heart Fills An Empty Belly.

If you crave food when you have tension in your close relationships, you suffer from Type 3 emotional hunger. You eat to avoid feeling the pain of rejection or anger.

Type 4. Hate Yourself, Love Your Munchies.

If you tend to become hypercritical of yourself, if you label yourself "stupid," "lazy," or "a loser," you have Type 4 emotional hunger. You eat to "stuff down" self-doubts.

Type 5. Secret Desires Have No Calories.

If your hunger gets activated because your intimate relationships don't satisfy some basic need like trust or security, you suffer from Type 5 emotional hunger and you use food to try to fill the gap, according to Dr. Gould and Mastering Food,

Type 6. Forty Gulps And The Well Is Still Empty.

If you eat to make up for the deprivation you experienced as a child, you have Type 6 emotional eating.

Type 7. It's My Pastry, and I'll Eat If I Want To.

If you eat to assert your independence because you don't want anyone telling you what to do, you have Type 7 emotional hunger.

Type 8. I Can't Come To Work Today--I'm Eating

According to Dr. Gould and Mastering Food, if your appetite kicks in when you're faced with new challenges--if you use food to avoid rising to the test, or to insulate yourself from the fear of failure--you have Type 8 emotional hunger.

Type 9. Aroused by Aromas, Not by the Chef.

If you stuff your face in order to avoid your sexuality-either to stay overweight so that nobody desires you or to hide from intimate encounters--you suffer from Type 9 emotional hunger.

Type 10. I'll Beat You With this Éclair.

Emotional eaters often eat to pay back those who have hurt them, often in the distant past. They use their bodies as battlegrounds for working out old resentments. If you do this, you're really battling type 10 emotional hunger

Type 11. Peter Pan and the Peanut Butter Cookie.

If you eat to make yourself feel carefree, like a child, you have Type 11 emotional hunger. You eat to keep yourself from facing the challenges of growing up.

Type 12. That Stranger In Shorts Wearing Your Face.

If you overeat because you fear getting thin, either consciously or unconsciously, you have Type 12 emotional hunger.

Lean Cuisine Chicken Meals Recalled

More Than 879,000 Pounds of Frozen Chicken Meals May Contain Bits of Plastic

By Miranda HittiWebMD Health News

Reviewed by Louise Chang, MD

Nov. 18, 2008 -- Nestle Prepared Foods Company is recalling 879,565 pounds of frozen Lean Cuisine chicken meals that may contain small pieces of hard blue plastic.
Nestle issued the recall after getting seven consumer complaints, including one report of a minor gum injury that did not require medical attention, Nestle Prepared Foods Company spokeswoman Roz O'Hearn tells WebMD.

The following Lean Cuisine products are being recalled:
9.5-ounce packages of "LEAN CUISINE PESTO CHICKEN WITH BOW TIE PASTA" brand frozen meals. "We determined that the plastic entered our facility in a single lot of an incoming raw ingredient," O'Hearn says. "We're trying to figure out how to prevent this from happening in the future. But we went into action very quickly on a very small number of complaints."

Ron Lester

Jeff and I had the pleasure of interviewing Ron Lester. Let chocolate stand in syrup 3 minutes and then whisk until smooth. Cool slightly

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, coffee, Kahlua and cinnamon. Add a small amount of the chocolate mixture, whisking until well combined. The idea is to warm the eggs slowly and avoid cooking them. Slowly add the remainder and strain into prepared cake pan. Place in a water bath which reaches halfway up the side of the cake pan and bake in the middle of the oven for 30-35 minutes. It is done when a knife comes out hot and clean, although you may call it “done” when there is a half-dollar size jiggle in the middle. Cool it completely on a cake rack.

Cake may be kept in the pan, chilled for one week. Alternately, loosen with knife around the edge and gently invert onto a plate. Top with cream.

For cream: Place cream, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. With an electric mixer or whisk, beat ingredients until they hold stiff peaks. Serve along side the mousse cake.

Dr. Sashi Ganta

Please join us as we welcome Dr. Sashi Ganta from Austin Bariatrics. Dr. Sashi Ganta is believed to have performed the first trans-umbilical LAP-BAND® procedure in the state of Texas on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Seton Northwest Hospital in Austin, Texas. Dr. Ganta pioneered this new technique, which involves complete navigation and placement of the LAP-BAND® via the belly button, thus eliminating the need for special instruments, and also leaving no visible scars on the abdomen.

According to Dr. Ganta, "With the emergence of new techniques such as SILS or single-incision laparoscopic surgery, individuals seeking gastric banding for obesity now can choose to not have any visible scarring. This new technique of Trans-umbilical Gastric banding (TUGB) allows patients to have significantly improved cosmetic results and possibly less pain and a faster recovery."

Date: 10/09/2008

Time: 8:00pm ET / 7:00pm CT / 5:00pm PT

Where: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thewlscoaches

Call-in line: 646-716-9413

Body Image Expert, Sarah Maria

Cher & Jeff hosted Body Image Expert and Personal Empowerment Specialist, Sarah Maria.

Sarah helps people love their bodies no matter how they look. Lulu shared with us the struggles she had as an orphan. Her life changed when she meet Buck Owens in a Dallas Night Club and he invited her to be on Hee Haw. Hee Haw ran for 25 years and Lulu was on the first and the last show.

We were so impressed with her openness, and her honesty. Lulu shared the struggles she battled prior to discovering the lap-band. Lulu had lap-band surgery in 2004 suffered complications due to a stomach infection; ultimately she had to have the lap-band removed. Lulu dealt with an open wound for eight months before finding a new surgeon who could place another band in her. Thankfully this surgery was successful and to date Lulu has lost 190 pounds.

Lulu has dedicated her life to the Lord and sings Gospel music now. As a special offer to our listening audience Lulu is offering a 3 pack CD package for $40.00 plus free shipping, visit her website at http://www.luluroman.net/ and mention you heard her on "The New You" Radio Show to receive this special offer.

Plastic Surgeon, Matthew R. Terri believes an ideal body is where you create the best weight specifically for you. It's easy to stay at that weight. You're healthy and well. You can enjoy your life and you feel good about yourself and the way you look. You're not overweight. You are just right for you. An ideal body is not determined by a chart, or someone from the fashion industry determining that you should weigh a certain weight, or that you should be a size 2 or 12 or 16. You determine what feels best for you and what you want for your own body. A person with big bones can't possibly be comfortable being the same size as a person with a small bone structure! The good news is that you can actually begin to eat by trusting your body. Your body, in a way, is its own magic pill. Your body has all the answers!

Terri will share with us how you can create your own ideal body.

When: July 16, 2008
Where: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thewlscoaches
Time: 8:00 pm ET 7:00 pm CT and 5:00 pm PT
Call in: 646-716-9413

We hope to "Hear" you there

~Cher & Jeff~
The WLS Coaches

=========================================================
As promised Chef Leslie's Recipe from this week's show...

LEMONGRASS CHICKEN SALAD

Ingredients

Dressing
1 Tablespoon crushed red pepper
3 Tablespoons fish sauce (namm pla)
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.

Chicken Salad
2 stalks lemongrass, tough outer layers and white parts removed; use only the tender green midsections
2 heads of endive
1/4 cup sesame seeds
7 garlic cloves
1 bamboo skewer, soaked in water for 30 minutes, then dried
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Vegetable oil spray
1 orange, peeled and sectioned, membranes removed

Directions

Heat the grill. While waiting for the grill to get hot, slice the lemongrass on the diagonal into paper-thin slices. Separate into individual rings and put in a mixing bowl. Thinly slice the endive crosswise. Add to the bowl and set aside.

Put the sesame seeds in a small skillet and dry-roast over medium-high heat, sliding the skillet back and forth over the burner to prevent burning, until the seeds turn golden (one to two minutes). Remove from heat and transfer in a bowl to cool. Set aside.

Thread the garlic cloves onto the bamboo skewer, spray with vegetable oil, and place on the grill over medium-high heat. Rub the chicken breasts with the salt and spray generously with vegetable oil. Grill (turning frequently to prevent burning) until the garlic is slightly charred (approximately four minutes). When the chicken is pierced with a fork, the juices should run clear (approximately nine minutes). Transfer to a plate.

When it is cool enough to handle, remove the garlic from the skewer. Slice the cloves in half, and add to the bowl with lemongrass. Slice the chicken diagonally into long thin strips.

Add to the bowl.
