The Adriana Lima diet caused a good amount of controversy when the sexy Victoria’s Secret model revealed her extreme fitness habits on how she got ready before the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Unlike other models such as Alesssandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, and Marisa Miller, Adriana Lima’s fitness habits were a bit more… extreme.

Before the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, Adriana considerably decreased her calorie intake and increased her workout frequency in order to shed the maximum amount of weight to look as good as humanly possible. In most people’s minds, liquid diets are synonymous to illnesses and the inability to eat real foods. However, Adriana wasn’t sick. She followed a liquid diet becuase she wanted to lose an extreme amount of weight in a short period of time.

Is the Adriana Lima diet dangerous?
In my opinion going low calorie for a short period of time, in this case for 9 days isn’t really that dangerous. As long as you’re going low calorie for a reasonable amount of time and as long as you’re doing it for a good reason (e.g. getting ready for a Victoria’s Secret fashion show), then there’s no reason why you can’t do a liquid only diet for 9 days. The most important thing to remember is that after 9 days, you have to transition to a more reasonable dieting approach.

What is a more realistic dieting approach?
For a more reasonable dieting approach, you should lower your calorie intake by no more than 10-15%. Also, when dieting you should try to get the majority of your calories from whole foods not liquids.

Whole foods would be foods like fruits, vegetables, raw nuts, grass fed beef, and organic eggs. These foods provide many more nutrients and minerals and also help you stay full for a longer period of time.

Is Adriana Lima being unfairly chastised for her recent Teleflora Super Bowl Commercial? Now that Valentine's Day has arrived, the debate is raging again about the sexy Brazilian supermodel's commercial with the insinuated premise of "sex for flowers."

Look, while many people found the Adriana Lima, Teleflora ad all in good fun...especially after the she delivers the sexy line just after getting dressed: At least some people see this as not only just objectifying women but also as flat-out prostitution. Giving Adriana (or any other girl) gifts...in this case, flowers... is the quickest way to getting sexual favors in return. The advertisement could be seen as advocating a "transaction" for sex. Yes, the commercial was effective if not offensive. It is not as if Valentine's Day is some sacred day.

It is not as if the 'holiday' is just another financial bonanza for flower companies, chocolatiers, and lingerie manufactures. Did the Adriana Lima, Teleflora ad cheapen all of this? Probably not, as it was already a 'Hallmark Holiday.'

The question however whether the commercial gives false expectations for men that they should somehow expect to "get some" by "giving" flowers. Is the act of giving women flowers some somewhat dirty, sexual transaction? Hardly, though the Adriana Lima commercial may lead one to believe that it isn't flowers the guy may get in return on Valentine's night.

MANHATTAN — We know a secret, and Glenn Close let the cat out of the bag. Taking her place in the front row at Bibhu Mohapatra's first ever runway show, Close told DNAinfo that she's a fan. "I’ve gotten to know Bibhu — he's making a couple [of] possible things for me and I wanted to be here for him, because I think he's really talented and he is the most generous and nice man." Did this best actress nominee just tell us she's wearing Bibhu to the Oscars? Good show!

Fellow designer Waris Ahluwalia said he felt he brought Mohapatra luck with a hug. "I hugged him, and that's something. What usually happens is joy. Elation. Good reviews on the runway," Ahluwalia shared with a wink. "It’s good luck really."

Last season, it was Nicki Minaj, and this season, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Vogue editor Anna Wintour never fails to surprise us with who she's sitting next to at a Carolina Herrera show. We're not sure whether Wintour brought her political seat mate or it was a Herrera fix-up, as Wintour's office did not respond to an email inquiry.

Mercedes Benz spokesmodel Lara Stone is something of an odd choice, given that she only got her driver’s license four months ago. The Calvin Klein contract model admits that she's ordered a Mercedes G-Wagen, partially for it's safety. "I'm an insanely safe driver because I only just got my license," she told DNAinfo. "I'm both hands on the wheel, 29 miles per hour, [using] all the mirrors and everything." But this catwalker, who used to do several shows each day of fashion week, doesn’t miss it at all. "I quite like just watching at Calvin Klein," she said. "I don't really miss it — I miss seeing my friends and hanging out — but not the actual runway."

Reality villain Kristin Cavallari showed up at both the Rachel Roy and Betsey Johnson shows sporting the tiniest of baby bumps, but her wedding is on hold. "We're going to get married after the baby because they're two separate things. We want to celebrate our wedding, and when we have the baby, we want to celebrate that," said Kristin while she was at Rachel Roy's show. As for odd cravings, "I went through a dairy phase, but I'm out of it now."

Designer Zang Toi is known for being a bit odd, and usually wearing a kilt. Monday's show had no kilts, but it did have a collection of odd bedfellows. Front row seats were filled by model Petra Nemkova, photographer Nigel Barker, fellow designer Pamela Rolland, assorted contestants from the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, Alex McCord and more. Former New York "Housewife" McCord was a hot mess wearing a drape-y Temperley dress, a sheer Louis Vuitton ballet coat, strappy Alaia shoes and carrying a YSL clutch. "I'm all over the map," she admitted. "It's kind of a mash-up." Get this woman a stylist, or at least a Dressy Bessy doll so she can figure it out for herself.

Also in Toi's front row was Boardwalk Empire actor Michael Kenneth WIlliams. "I was here last season and really fell in love with the line," he admitted. "I like all of the originality and how people go out of their comfort zone to have fun with it."

Though there were assorted celebs in the front rows at the Betsey Johnson show, NYLON TV host and "It" girl Becka Diamond got more attention than all of them — for her legs, clad only in stockings. "I hate pants," she said. "They make me look bad."

Lindsay Ellington is giving herself a Valentine. "I'm going to take the day to hopefully pamper myself a little bit — get a massage and go shopping," she told DNAinfo. "My boyfriend is going to cook for me at night. I'm a big dessert fan so if he made me a lemon meringue pie, that would be amazing."Doutzen Kroes is going to rely on her husband for the action. "Maybe I’ll plan a hotel room with rose petals," she said, "and he can do everything else."

Superbowl ad star Adriana Lima is a traditionalist. "This year I am going to spend time with my family and it's going to be lingerie, perfume and chocolate," she said, adding, "I love any type and all chocolate."

Victoria's Secret vixen Adriana Lima stood up for buddy Gisele Bundchen in an interview with ABCNews.com, saying "I think we should leave the girl alone."The support comes after Gisele was caught on camera criticizing hubby Tom Brady's teammates following the Patriots' 21-17 Super Bowl loss to the Giants. “My husband cannot [expletive] throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time," Bundchen was overheard saying. The biggest story of the last Victoria's Secret fashion show — that made it from blogs like this one to Anderson Cooper's nightly program — was Adriana Lima's pre-show diet. She told a reporter that she basically didn't eat food before the show and worked out twice a day, which not only sounded hellish and creepy but was also pretty bad publicity for Victoria's Secret. Well, at a recent Victoria's Secret press event pegged to the non-holiday of Valentine's Day, Lima took a break from posing with bras and panties to speak to a reporter from StyleList and consume calories — sugary, fatty ones — an act from which we get this very detailed description:

Former Victoria’s Secret supermodel Gisele Bundchen is getting slammed on the Web for her F-bomb snark about the New England Patriots wide receivers dropping the ball on Sunday.

Meanwhile Adriana Lima, currently one of the top VS Angels, has become a very hot Web search because her two sexy Super Bowl commercials. One was for the new Kia Optima and the other was for Telaflora, pinned to Valentine’s Day.

You may remember Adriana as the model who revealed last Fall that she doesn’t eat solid food for nine days and stops drinking water 12 hours before the big VS runway show. In the Teleflora ad, she's seen getting slowly dressed, complete with prerequisite male fantasy material -- garter belts and black sheet stockings – putting on makeup, looking at her red and white flowers on her dresser and tellling the camera "Guys, Valentine’s Day is not that complicated. Give and you shall receive.”

All we can say is she’s a lot of "receive" for a "give" of a small arrangement of flowers. In the Kia Super Bowl ad, a creepy elf sprinkles a man and a woman with good dreams fairy dust. The woman rides off with a handsome prince on a white horse. But the man is behind the wheel of a Kia Optima racing while cheerleaders -- including Lima -- cheer him on. Cute ending alert. What's the key to a supermodel's heart on Valentine's Day? "Roses!" Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima, 30, tells PEOPLE. "If my husband sends them to me at home, I'll be very happy. There's nothing better than to receive flowers from someone you love."

The Brazilian supermodel, who will be appearing in a Teleflora ad during the Super Bowl on Sunday, said she prefers receiving gifts that are "very elegant, very thoughtful and very romantic" from husband of three years, Marko Jaric, 33.

"Valentine's Day means giving and receiving love in all different forms," the mom to daughter Valentina, 2. "I think men should touch a woman's emotions. I love kisses, hugs ... all that good stuff!"Another piece of advice she has for those hoping to woo someone on the big day? "Go a little more old-fashioned and include a handwritten note," she advised. "It's really touching and more direct."

And though the model's preferred gift on Valentine's Day is a bouquet of roses, one priceless present she received three years ago can never be topped. "[It] was my wedding day and it was very romantic," she said. "I will carry that memory with me for the rest of my life."
