Colleen is a special education teacher turned stay-at-home mom to three little ones – ages 3, 2, and 1. Her days are filled with laughing and tears, joys and frustrations, toddlers and babies. The basics of gardening were gifted to her by her mother and father starting at a very young age. Through her urban homesteading efforts (which she blogs about on her site, Five Little Homesteaders) she hopes to lead her family down the path of leading a more sustainable, intentional, and full life.

A Month in The Life: April 8th-May 3rd

So much for a week in the life haha. Here I was thinking I was at around 2 1/2 weeks or 3 weeks at most since our last update. Turns out its been four weeks! Woops.

I’m so grateful that God doesn’t expect us to be perfect all the time and that he only works on us in one or two areas at a time! I am happy to report that I have been trying my best to keep my new perspective on this blogging gig. And in light of that, this last month has been a lot of just staying on top of maintaining our home and massive amounts of garden work which hasn’t left much time for writing at the end of the day. Not to mention that baking this little baby is sucking lots of my energy:

My previous writing time during his naps have been disappearing into tasks I can’t do while he’s following me around and lately a lot of my own need to nap in the course of the day. Early morning writing sessions have been replaced with sleeping more and by the time the evening hits spending

You guys have amazed me again this week! I just love this group of blog authors who shares their amazing posts each week! But before we go on to see last week’s favorites, I’d like to share some wonderful news!

The Farm Girl Blog Fest is growing! Lisa, Kristi and I have been busy in the background hand picking an amazing team, revamping the whole look and feel and we have even renamed it! Farm Girl Blog Fest #30

Happy Friday!

The month is flying by, we are officially 30 days out to 38 weeks which is when I delivered Noah. Crazy how soon we will be meeting him! And how much I still have on my to do lists!

But I’m feeling good with our progresses….just about everything is finished or almost finished in the garden:

So I’ll be wrapping up the bits and pieces there and moving indoors to start getting the house ready! Hopefully by next week the bedroom will be floored and we will be wrapping up the backsplash. Always so much to do here!
