What Has Amanda Bynes Been Doing Since She “Retired” in 2010?

After we spotted Amanda Bynes out grocery shopping (yes, that’s really her!) in mid-December, we couldn’t help but wonder what the former actress has been doing since she “retired” about a year and a half ago.

At the ripe old age of 24, Amanda decided to throw in the towel on her acting career in favor of early retirement. She announced on Twitter that she didn’t “love acting anymore” and was done doing it. However, there was speculation that she had been behaving “erratically” and was reportedly fired from the 2011 romantic comedy Hall Pass.

After her big announcement, she used her Twitter account to reveal some interesting “tidbits,” like tweets about “how good it feels when someone knows how to love your body” and how she prefers “chocolate over vanilla” when it comes to guys. Still, she managed to avoid any scandals of Lindsay Lohan proportion and has since cleaned up her tweet history. Everything from before December 2011 is gone, and now she mainly writes inspirational messages, like, “You are what you think. You are what you go for. You are what you do.”

It seems like a quiet life away from the glare of the spotlight has done Amanda some good. However, she did recently request that fans vote for her for Maxim’s annual Hot 100 issue, which is curious. The fact that she wants to be included in the racy men’s mag makes us wonder if she isn’t at least a little nostalgic for her old celebrity status.

Amanda Bynes shot to fame as a child star on the children’s TV channel Nickelodeon, starring in Figure it Out and All That back in 1996 before getting her own show, The Amanda Show. Amanda took her childhood fame in teen movies quite successfully.

Bynes appeared in a string of movies including What a Girl Wants and She’s the Man, before being named the fifth highest paid celebrity under 21 by Forbes back in 2007. Since then the work has steadily dried up for her and she announced her retirement from acting back in 2010.

Amanda took to her Twitter page to reveal, "I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it." Before changing her mind again earlier this year. However, it doesn’t seem that there is much to look forward to in the way of movies starring Amanda Bynes as she currently is not involved with any. Maybe early retirement was the best bet.

Actress Amanda Bynes has no regrets when it comes to posting intimate photos of herself on Twitter and says she does it to let people know more about her. The 25-year-old often shares revealing images and emotional statuses with her 5,000 followers and admits to being happy with the relationship she has with her digital fans, reported Contactmusic.

“I believe in no regrets. You say what you feel because you felt it at the moment. You kind of have to let people know a little bit about you. And once you've been in the business for a long time, people kind of know stuff about your life,” she said. The 'She's The Man' star had announced last year her plans to take a break from acting. “I really just needed some time off. I've been acting since I was seven, and I'm 25 now. So, it's not retiring so much. It's just taking some time off,” she wrote on the social networking website.

"You say what you feel because you felt it at the moment."So why does she have the desire to share her emotions with over 5,000 strangers who follow her Twitter updates?

"It's sort of like what I would tell a reporter if I were doing an interview," Bynes says. "You kind of have to let people know a little bit about you. And once you've been in the business for a long time, people kind of know stuff about your life."

"I don't tell anybody anything too personal," she continues. "But I say stuff I would say in an interview."Still, Bynes says she's learning to keep some things to herself. While Christian Louboutin’s shoes are so gorgeous that they may seem to be one-of-a-kind, these fierce fringed sandals are everywhere these days! Hollywood’s hottest celebrities have long had a penchant for Christian Louboutin’s signature red soles. In fact, the famed designer even made a pair specifically for Blake Lively, who is inarguably one of his biggest fans. Last night, at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in Universal City, California, formerly retired actress Amanda Bynes graced the red carpet in a skintight Herve Leger bandage dress — but it was her Louboutin Change of the Guard pumps that had us doing a double-take! This wasn’t the first time we’ve seen the fringed footwear. It turns out the Kardashian sisters as well as LaLa are all proud owners of the electric blue version of this shoe!

Back in February, for husband Carmelo Anthony‘s much anticipated debut as a New York Knick, LaLa stayed stylish on the sidelines, posting a TwitPic of her “game shoe” — the Change of the Guard sandal, which conveniently resembles the Knicks’ team color! Then, on Apr. 7, Kourtney Kardashian wore the same shoes while gallivanting around LA. Just three days later, little sis Khloe paired the pumps with matching jeans while enjoying dinner with hubby Lamar at paparazzi playground Katsuya. If they were a normal family, I’d say that maybe they shared the shoes, but after we got a glimpse into Khloe’s gargantuan closet, chances are they both happen to own the same pair. Ah, the sweet life of a basketball wife!

Depending on the rest of the outfit, these shoes can really be a hit or miss. I love what Kourtney did with them, but I wish Amanda Bynes would have gone a little less bold, especially considering the basic, recognizable (not to mention slightly overused) design of the Leger she wore. Regardless, these are truly an example of Louboutin’s impeccable craftsmanship, and we are always waiting for his next collection!
