The whole idea of this new App is based on the concept of “Schemes” and as described by the App, “a scheme is anything you might want to do”.

Examples of Schemes -

Take a mixology course at Bourbon and Branch speakeasy
Relive Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in Chicago
Use leftover tortillas to make chilaquiles
Surf the sand dunes at White Sands

Schemer for iPhone will help you do something interesting when you are feeling bored by recommending new activities. Schemer is also smart and also keeps a tab on your surroundings based on your location. So if it is raining outside, it will suggest something that you should do inside.

That’s right, Google Chrome is apparently coming to iOS for the iPhone, iPod touch, and the iPad.

The analyst also reports that it may be released by the end of the second ongoing quarter, and if not, then “definitely” by the end of the year.

Apple won’t be too happy with this news. The reason behind this is that Apple gets 60% of revenue for Google searches made on its mobile Safari browser, while Google gets only 40%, and if Google releases Chrome, then Google will get to keep all the revenue it makes, but since not everyone will be forced to use Chrome, Apple will still earn something.

We really don’t think Apple will reject Chrome just because of this, as it would show that they careless about the overall customer experience.

If you need a refresher on basic Chrome features (the ones on the Android version atleast), they consist of tabbed browsing (upto 100 tabs), automatic and fast bookmark syncing (with Chrome on other devices), incognito browsing, and an overall amazing and minimalistically beautiful interface.

What do you think about this? Will Apple reject it? Are you excited? Let us know in the comments section below:

FreakDroid is a new iPhone and Android App which includes a robot who has a thing or two for movies. The robot is witty and claims to know all about movies. In FreakDroid, if you think you are a movie buff and are up to the challenge, you can connect with your Facebook account to take a quiz which will ask you all about films. Questions seem to be updated on a daily basis.

The App design looks fresh and neatly done. Although the user interface is planned out, more work needs to be put into the user experience and navigation. The way the robot speaks is very intriguing. The App is also well-connected with social media so you can post your updates to Twitter and Facebook. To move the robot to a different location to scan new objects, you can simply swipe and the robot will move.

The thing that bugs me about this App is that you always have to connect to your Facebook account to play the quiz. Also, the game can be confusing at first and you probably won’t know what to do. If you are the patient kind of person, you will figure it out eventually.

Overall, if you are a geek and a movie freak at the same time, FreakDroid is for you.

You can get the iPhone version for free and Android version for free as well.

TheAppleGoogle Rating – 7/10 (+1 for being free)

With the MacBook Air selling so much, it was clear to Apple that even though the MacBook Pro offers better performance, the design had to be tweaked. Apple’s all new upcoming MacBook Pro for 15 inch will have an ultra-thin design and also include a shiny retina display.

It will probably be thin enough to have no space for an optical drive. The retina display on a MacBook will forever change computer displays and raise the bar to a whole lot higher level.

It is also evident that Apple will include USB 3.0 ports and Intel Ivy Bridge processors. These changes sound very exciting and if Apple is able to implement it, many new users will be in a dilemma when choosing between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. For daily work, the MacBook Air is a clear winner at the moment.

The App also includes a very scintillating real-time currency update feature that automatically updates all different input currencies into your desired home currency. In this interview, we talk to Rae Mapey of Simply Declare to take a behind-the-scenes look and to see how the App was converted from ambition to achievement.

As an avid traveler I am out of my home country for extended periods of time; I couldn’t find an app on the market that would keep track of my own purchases to be declare back to my home border So I went from the position of “I can’t do this” to “why can’t I do this”. The most fearful question a traveler is asked is “What have you to declare?” by the border agent. Most people have a hard time keeping receipts, knowing what the exchange rate was on their purchase, and figuring out how much more they have to spend before they hit their maximum dollars allowable. My goal was to make that simplistically easier for the traveler. I also wanted the app to be never limited from one country to another country. Simply Declare is opened up to over 30+ currencies and they are multi-directional. The app also allows the traveler to move from country to country still updating their purchases to the home currency. I wanted to make an app that truly helped the traveler on their trip, and I think that I accomplished my goal with Simply Declare.

2. Do you think Apple’s offerings for developers for developing Apps is good? Are there any changes required?

Apple is the best company to deal with. They have great customer service and I have had excellent help from people inside, as I was waiting for the approval process to be completed.

3. What is your marketing strategy? What marketing techniques do you use to promote your App in this heavily competitive application space?

The process is definitely two-fold. First is getting the app into the market place so that it can get exposure from app review sites. Apps need to be critically analyzed. App sites like www.TheAppleGoogle.com is a great start. Second is getting the app into the hands of the user, and having the app reviewed on the websites and more importantly in the iTunes store. Social Media is instrumental in getting the word out about Simply Declare. The analogy is the favorite restaurant in your neighborhood that closes. When the door to the restaurant closes and you say “but it was one of my favorites”, even though you rarely ate there. If you like an app, tell people, and recommend the app to others.

4. Can you describe your “Eureka” moment while developing the App?

My Eureka moment was when the final Beta Test on the app was finished. It was sheer pride realizing nine months of work looked and moved so crisply and cleanly.

5. How did you come to decide the price that you would be charging users to purchase your App?

The technology behind the app, although the user doesn’t see it, warranted that the app be priced that the user would appreciate how easily it updated their purchase roster no matter how many currencies they have purchased goods from. The apps ability to photograph receipts for safekeeping, and emailing a list for print to make your border crossing stress free. I also didn’t want the app opened up to advertising, so for that reason I would never put it into the ad-network.

6. What gave you the kick to convert your idea into reality? What kept you awake all night long?

I spent many sleepless nights, making sure that the app was simple and easy to use. The app had to move seamlessly. It had to be a tool for the traveler, not a cumbersome application that was going to add more stress. Our world is full of stress, and my goal was make someone’s trip just that little bit less stressful.

The user interface of the App is very well-designed allowing for easy file management. Password protected folders can also be created from within the App. The App is also very fluent in handling .zip and .rar files and extracting them right on your iPad. So if you’ve got a .zip download from the internet, you can easily un-archive it with this App and even Safari will allow you to open the App using OrganiDoc.

It works best with iTunes File Sharing. You can transfer all your files from your PC or Mac to your iPad instantly and view all different file formats under one roof. TV Out is also supported by the App so you can easily connect your iPad to a large screen display to view PowerPoint or Keynote presentations or a movie as well.

The App serves multiple purposes and is ideal for the true iPad user.

Get it now from here for $4.99. A bit on the pricey side by considering its features, it is very useful and the UI is better than most file management Apps available.

For quite some time now, renowned iPhone/iPad/iPod hacker, @pod2g has been working on a jailbreak solution for the iPhone 4S, the new iPad, and some other devices on iOS 5.1. Now, with a video uploaded by him as proof, pod2g, is much closer to publicly releasing this jailbreak solution.

In the video, pod2g demonstrates it on his new iPad.

This jailbreak solution (when it is released publicly) will supposedly be able to jaikbreak the new iPad and the iPhone 4, and apparently, even the iPhone 4S.

Are you excited that you may soon be able to free your A5 and A5X device on iOS 5.1? Also, you could downgrade to iOS 5.0, and then jailbreak that, but excluding the new iPad.

As always, we’ll keep you updated as it develops.

You can add new places to your list of visited places and once signed in to Facebook, view the exact locations of your friends using the App. If you’ve been to London recently, you can always view the Travel page and “post and boast” to your Facebook friends that you’ve visited another place.

You can also color the specific regions on a map to clearly identify all the places you’ve been to. The App will also display the number of kilometers you’ve travelled cumulatively. You can add photos to your trip, share them and keep your Facebook friends updated about your travel log.

The user interface of the App is good, but not that great. It is just manageable and can be improved.

If you like to travel a lot, this is a good App to keep a record of all the places you’ve visited and also keep a tab on your close Facebook friends.

You can get the App from here for $0.99.

TheAppleGoogle Rating – 7/10
