Amitabh Bachchan Discharged From Hospital

Amitabh Bachchan has been discharged from the Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai where he was recovering after an abdominal surgery. The actor, who confirmed the news on Twitter.com on late Thursday (23 February 2012) night, thanked his fans for the prayers.

“HOME !! A joy to be back in familiar surroundings.. thank you all for your blessings and prayers .. I made it again !!” he tweeted. Son Abhishek Bachchan also tweeted, “Dad back from hospital. Thank you all for all the prayers. He’s doing much better and stronger.” Bachchan was admitted in a Mumbai hospital on 11 February 2012 after some abdominal complications and went through a surgery.

Amitabh Bachchan likely to be discharged in next two days

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is recuperating at Seven Hills hospital here post his abdominal surgery, is likely to be discharged in the next two days. As Big B's health is improving there are chances that he get discharged soon. “He is doing much better and is likely to get discharged today or day after tomorrow,” hospital sources said.

The 69-year-old actor too is eagerly awaiting his “moment of freedom”. “Freedom !!! free from central line, free from all kites, free to sleep without precaution....Now await to be free from hospital !! (sic),” Bachchan wrote on twitter.

Days after he underwent a scalpel on February 11 at the suburban hospital, Bachchan had complained of acute abdominal pain and there were chances that he might have to undergo another surgery. However, the doctors decided against doing it as the gritty actor had shown significant improvement.

“The 'central line' came out a short while ago....A good looking healthy 6 of needle immersed into your neck 'vein' and the relief of mobility now cannot be aptly described. The body is now free from all 'kites' and wires and soon shall be free from this hospital as well,” Bachchan posted last night.

“It shall now be a few more days when I shall be heading home. The mind has already begun to programme the time to be spent and how. There shall be the obvious precautions but besides that a desire to utilise the time in constructive learning and to acquire knowledge of matters is still a mystery for me,” he said.

There are rumours, and Abhishek Bachchan decided to put them all to rest when he announced that the family has indeed zeroed in on a name for Beti B!

We've heard all sorts of things: The name of Beti B was first to be revealed on Makar Sankranti day; we also heard that Oprah Winfrey would reveal the picture and name on her talk show; We heard that the Bachchans have decided to call her Aaliya; We heard that the Bachchans would hold a naming ceremony for the little one on an auspicious day...

However, Abhishek Bachchan only recently stated that none of the above was true. to begin with, the actor clarified that Baby B is not named Aaliya. He went on to add that the picture of his daughter would not be 'revealed' - we can catch a glimpse of her when she naturally begins to go out. According to him, releasing a picture of his daughter and making it an event is rather a 'pompous' thing to do!

He went on to say that there would be no naming ceremony for the baby, as the families don't believe in 'naamkaran'. Abhishek also added, that the name had at last been finalised and will be communicated to all soon.

If sources are to be believed, the Bachchan family is waiting for Amitabh to be discharged from hospital and return home healthy. It's then that they will let one and all know what they have named their little one. We think that it's Sr. Bachchan who will reveal the same on his micro-blogging site just like he did the news of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's pregnancy.

Abhishek Bachchan confirms Beti B has a name

Abhishek Bachchan has revealed that the family has at last decided on a name for baby Beti B and it most certainly isn't the speculated name of Aaliya. Fans will have to wait a little longer though for the Bachchans to reveal the name publicly, but Abhishek has promised it will be disclosed very soon.

Emirates 247 reported that Abhishek released a statement saying: "we’ve got a name, and I'll announce it very soon, but in terms of releasing a photograph you know I... if people see her in everyday life that’s fine by me but I just think releasing the photograph is a very pompous thing to do.” Furthermore, he revealed that "We don’t believe in any ceremony in terms of namkaran."

The family could be waiting until Big B is released from hospital where he is recovering from abdominal surgery. Amitabh Bachchan possibly faces a second surgery and a longer than anticipated hospital stay.

After dad Amitabh Bachchan's successful abdominal surgery, Abhishek Bachchan got back to shooting for Rohit Shetty's Bol Bachchan in Jaipur. Abhishek shot for a song sequence with Prachi Desai at Amer Fort in Rajasthan.

While Prachi was dressed in a red kurta paired with a printed patiala and blue kolhapuris, Abhishek's look reminds us of his get up in Bunty Aur Babli. Bol Bachchan also starring Ajay Devgn and Asin is an official remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1979 comic flick Golmaal.

Amitabh Bachchan, who suffered acute pain after abdominal surgeries, said early Wednesday that he is now fine. But there is no word when he can leave the hospital for home.

"A day that brings you to the brink of wellness and pushes you back into the well of uneasy health... the body shall dictate always! Cure can be distasteful till it begins to work .. till that happens, your faith in it diminishes by the minute...then suddenly AIW: All Izzz Well .. !!" the megastar wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

The 69-year-old had two surgeries Saturday. The actor was supposed to be discharged from SevenHills Hospital Monday. But because of acute pain, his release was delayed. Amitabh's family and doctors are still not revealing when he will be discharged. His abdominal problems stem from an injury he suffered during the shooting of " Coolie" in 1982, an incident that almost cost his life.

New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who underwent an abdominal surgery recently, says he is still in a lot of pain. The 69-year-old was to be discharged from the hospital today but the pain seems to have delayed it further. “The morning has been nightmarish. There has been incredible pain in the region of the surgery, and the spasms so acute that they brought me to the level of a scream…which is saying a lot, for, my resistance to pain has been quite satisfactory in the past.

“But the doctors were immediately summoned and after change in the dressings and pain killers, there seems to be now some semblance of relief. Not entirely, but entire enough,” Bachchan wrote on his blog. The actor, who has a history of stomach ailments since his near fatal intestinal injury while filming a fight scene in 1982 movie Coolie, was operated on Saturday at the Seven Hills hospital.

We all remember this father-son jodi in reverse in the film Paa. Playing the same role in real life, Abhishek reprimanded his reel life son Big B through twitter, “ It's past your bedtime Auro!!. Stop tweeting and back to bed.”

Reacting to this, Amitabh tweeted back, “OK ... Paa !! Am already in bed .. been on it the whole day .” Abhishek also thanked everyone for their well wishes and prayers for Big B, who will be discharged today from Seven Hills hospital.
