The Hidden Clock: Why Lifelong Corrective Chiropractic Isn’t a Luxury—It’s a Lifeline

There’s a clock ticking in your spine right now. You just can’t hear it.

It doesn’t tick like a wristwatch or a wall clock. This one is silent. It counts the seconds, not of your life, but of your health’s integrity. It began the day you were born—when you fell off your bike, when you played football, when you hunched over your first laptop, when you got rear-ended and thought, “I’m fine.”

That clock measures the difference between living long and living well.

Why Most People Miss It

Most people think of chiropractic care like a fire extinguisher: break glass in case of pain. But what if pain was never the point? What if pain is just the siren—and the real fire is silent spinal degeneration, unchecked nerve interference, and a nervous system that’s quietly losing its rhythm?

Corrective chiropractic care doesn’t just silence alarms. It resets the entire system that manages your movement, function, healing, and perception of stress.

But here’s what no one tells you: the spine is the only part of your body that cannot feel pain until the damage is deep. That’s why so many people “feel fine” right up until they’re not—and that’s when symptoms explode seemingly overnight. But the problem? It’s been brewing for decades.

Corrective Care Isn’t Pain Care—It’s Pattern Care

There’s a vast difference between relief care and corrective care. Relief is like bailing water from a sinking ship. Corrective care is like finding and sealing the hole.

Lifelong corrective chiropractic care is about breaking the destructive patterns the body hides so well:

A twisted pelvis that’s become your “normal”

A forward head posture compressing your brainstem and oxygen flow

Thoracic fixations that alter heart rate variability and immune function

Subluxation patterns passed down from birth trauma or even your parents’ posture

These patterns don’t just go away with one adjustment—or one year of care. Like braces on teeth, they need time, pressure, consistency, and retention.

The Myth of the “Finished” Spine

No one ever says, “I did cardio once, so I’m good forever.”
Yet people say, “I did chiropractic for a while, and I was fixed.”

That’s like saying you planted a seed, watered it for a month, and now expect a forest.

The truth? Your spine isn’t finished once you stop hurting. In fact, the most important phase begins after the pain ends—because that’s when the real remodeling can begin.

Why Lifelong Care Matters More Than Ever Today

We live in the most subluxation-inducing era in history:

Forward head posture from screens is now the default human shape

Chemical toxicity inflames and destabilizes joint function

Emotional trauma rewires muscle tension and spine-brain feedback loops

Most kids develop spinal shifts by age 6

Lifelong chiropractic isn’t just important—it’s urgent. Because without consistent correction, your nervous system adapts to dysfunction, not health.

And that’s the most dangerous adaptation of all: the one where dysfunction feels normal.

The Real Reason You Stay Under Care

You don’t get lifelong care because you’re broken.
You get it because you’re becoming.

Becoming stronger. Becoming more adaptable. More upright. More energetic. More aware of the patterns that once held you hostage.

You stay under care because health isn’t a destination—it’s a discipline. And your spine is the conduit for everything that makes you you.

Conclusion: The Legacy Spine

Think of your spine not just as yours, but as part of your legacy.

How you move, how you age, how you show up for your family—is all modulated through your spine and nervous system. If you ignore it, it won’t scream until it’s too late.

But if you honor it?
You’ll unlock a level of expression, clarity, and resilience you didn’t know was possible.

Not just for now—but for life.
The post The Hidden Clock: Why Lifelong Corrective Chiropractic Isn’t a Luxury—It’s a Lifeline first appeared on Chiropractic Plus.

The Importance of Chiropractic Care for Children: Building a Healthy Foundation for Life
As parents, we want to give our children the best possible start in life—ensuring their bodies grow strong, their minds stay sharp, and their immune systems remain resilient. One of the most overlooked yet essential components of a child’s health is chiropractic care. While many associate chiropractic adjustments with adults suffering from back pain, the truth is that children of all ages can benefit tremendously from regular chiropractic care.

Why Do Children Need Chiropractic Adjustments?
From the moment a child is born, their body undergoes significant stress. The birthing process itself can place strain on an infant’s spine, particularly on the neck and upper back. As children grow, they experience rapid developmental changes, minor (and sometimes major) falls, poor posture, and the increasing stress of modern life. These factors can create spinal misalignments, also known as subluxations, which may interfere with the nervous system’s ability to function optimally.

Since the nervous system controls everything from digestion to immune function to cognitive development, any interference can have widespread effects on a child’s overall health. Chiropractic care focuses on gently correcting these misalignments, ensuring that the nervous system operates at its best.

The Benefits of Chiropractic Adjustments for Kids

1. Supports Proper Development
A properly aligned spine allows the nervous system to function without interference. This promotes optimal brain-body communication, helping children develop better motor skills, coordination, and balance.

2. Strengthens the Immune System
A healthy nervous system directly impacts immune function. When spinal misalignments disrupt nerve communication, the immune system can become compromised. Chiropractic care helps remove these interferences, allowing the body to defend itself more effectively against illness.

3. Improves Sleep Quality
Many parents report that after receiving chiropractic adjustments, their children sleep more soundly. Since adjustments help relieve tension and restore balance to the nervous system, they can aid in relaxation and deeper, more restful sleep.

4. Enhances Focus and Behavior
Children with conditions such as ADHD, sensory processing disorders, or general hyperactivity often benefit from chiropractic care. When the nervous system is balanced, children may experience improved concentration, emotional regulation, and better behavior overall.

5. Aids in Digestive Health
The nervous system plays a key role in digestion. Misalignments in the spine can contribute to issues like colic, constipation, acid reflux, and general discomfort. Chiropractic adjustments help regulate nerve function, supporting a healthy digestive system.

6. Reduces the Impact of Falls and Injuries
Children are naturally active—learning to crawl, walk, run, and play all come with their fair share of bumps and falls. Even if your child doesn’t appear injured, small misalignments can occur that may lead to future problems. Routine chiropractic care helps correct these minor misalignments before they turn into bigger issues.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe for Children?
Yes! Pediatric chiropractic adjustments are gentle, specific, and tailored to a child’s size and needs. Many parents notice an immediate positive change in their child’s mood, sleep, and overall well-being after a visit.

When Should Children Start Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care can begin as early as infancy! Many parents bring their newborns in for adjustments shortly after birth to correct any spinal misalignments caused by labor and delivery. As children grow, regular check-ups help ensure that their spines remain aligned and their nervous systems function optimally.

Give Your Child the Gift of Optimal Health
As a parent, you invest in your child’s future by providing them with nutritious food, regular exercise, and quality education. Why not also invest in their spinal health and nervous system function? Chiropractic care is a natural, non-invasive approach to keeping your child healthy and thriving.

At Chiropractic Plus, we are passionate about helping families build a strong foundation for lifelong health. Schedule an appointment today and give your child the care they deserve!

The Power of Eating Clean: A Path to Health and Wellness

As a chiropractic office dedicated to holistic health and wellness, we emphasize the importance of nurturing the body in every way possible. While spinal adjustments and physical alignment are vital, what you put into your body plays an equally significant role in your overall health. That’s why we’re diving into the importance of eating clean, healthy meals and how it complements your chiropractic care.

What Does “Eating Clean” Mean?

Eating clean means choosing whole, minimally processed foods that are as close to their natural state as possible. It’s about fueling your body with nutrient-rich foods that support your overall health, including fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. It also means avoiding overly processed foods, added sugars, and artificial ingredients that can harm your body and contribute to inflammation.

How Eating Clean Supports Your Body

Reduces Inflammation Inflammation is one of the body’s natural responses to stress, but chronic inflammation can lead to joint pain, muscle discomfort, and even diseases like diabetes and arthritis. Processed foods high in trans fats and sugar are known culprits. Clean eating helps reduce inflammation, allowing your body to heal and recover more effectively—especially after chiropractic adjustments.

Boosts Energy Levels Whole foods provide your body with essential nutrients and a steady supply of energy. Unlike sugary snacks and processed foods that cause energy crashes, a clean diet keeps you energized throughout the day. This energy is essential for staying active, maintaining proper posture, and engaging in exercises that support spinal health.

Supports Digestive Health A healthy gut is a cornerstone of overall wellness. Clean eating—rich in fiber, probiotics, and nutrients—helps maintain a balanced gut microbiome. This can improve digestion, enhance nutrient absorption, and reduce bloating, ensuring your body gets the most out of the food you eat.

Enhances Immune Function Eating a diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants helps strengthen your immune system. Foods like leafy greens, citrus fruits, nuts, and seeds provide the building blocks your body needs to ward off illness and recover quickly from physical strain.

Supports Spinal Health Proper nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining bone and joint health. Calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D—found in clean, whole foods like leafy greens, nuts, and fortified foods—help keep your spine strong and flexible. When combined with chiropractic care, these nutrients work to enhance spinal alignment and mobility.

Tips for Eating Clean

Shop the Perimeter: Stick to the outer edges of the grocery store, where fresh produce, meats, and dairy are typically located.

Read Labels: If you’re buying packaged foods, look for simple ingredients you recognize and avoid additives, preservatives, and artificial sweeteners.

Meal Prep: Prepare your meals in advance to avoid the temptation of fast food or processed snacks.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water and avoid sugary drinks. Proper hydration supports digestion and overall health.

Listen to Your Body: Everyone’s nutritional needs are unique. Pay attention to how different foods make you feel and adjust your diet accordingly.

Clean Eating and Chiropractic Care: A Perfect Pairing

Chiropractic care aims to optimize the body’s natural ability to heal and function. Clean eating provides the necessary fuel for this process. Together, they form a powerful combination for improving overall health, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life.

At our chiropractic office, we believe in treating the whole person—not just the symptoms. By combining spinal health with clean eating and other healthy lifestyle choices, you can achieve lasting wellness and vitality.

Are you ready to take the next step toward better health? Let us help you align your body and fuel it with the right nutrients for optimal well-being. Schedule an appointment today, and let’s work together to create a healthier, happier you!

But what if there was a way to address not just the symptoms, but the root causes of pain, discomfort, and even stress? That’s where holistic chiropractic care comes in. This approach goes beyond just treating the spine — it considers the whole person, integrating physical, mental, and emotional well-being to help individuals achieve true health.

What is Holistic Chiropractic Care?

Holistic chiropractic care is a patient-centered approach that focuses on treating the whole body, not just the spine or a specific symptom. Rather than masking pain or relying solely on prescription medications, holistic chiropractic care addresses the underlying causes of discomfort, whether they are related to misalignments of the spine (subluxations), poor posture, muscle imbalances, or even emotional stress. By restoring balance to the body’s systems, holistic chiropractic practitioners aim to improve the overall function and health of the patient.

Key Principles of Holistic Chiropractic Care

Mind-Body Connection: One of the foundational beliefs of holistic chiropractic care is that the mind and body are deeply interconnected. Physical ailments often manifest due to emotional stress or mental imbalances. For example, chronic tension or neck pain can often be linked to emotional strain or anxiety. Chiropractors who take a holistic approach understand that addressing the body’s physical misalignments can help alleviate mental and emotional burdens, improving the person’s overall well-being.

Spinal Health as a Path to Wellness: The spine is the central support structure of the body, housing the nervous system that controls every function. When the spine is misaligned, it can interfere with nerve function, leading to pain, reduced mobility, and dysfunction in various body systems. Holistic chiropractors focus on aligning the spine to restore optimal nervous system function, ensuring that the body can communicate efficiently and heal naturally.

Prevention Over Treatment: Traditional medicine often focuses on treating diseases or injuries after they occur. Holistic chiropractic care, however, prioritizes prevention. By addressing misalignments and encouraging healthy lifestyle habits, chiropractors help individuals avoid more serious issues down the road. Regular chiropractic adjustments, coupled with good posture, proper nutrition, and stress management techniques, can contribute to a long-lasting sense of well-being.

Personalized Care: Holistic chiropractors understand that no two individuals are alike. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work in healthcare. That’s why treatments are personalized based on the specific needs of the patient. Whether it’s through spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapies, stretching exercises, nutritional counseling, or stress management techniques, holistic chiropractic care is tailored to support the unique health goals and conditions of the individual.

Benefits of Holistic Chiropractic Care

Pain Relief Without Medications:: Many individuals turn to chiropractic care when dealing with chronic pain, such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, or sciatica. Chiropractic adjustments offer a natural, drug-free way to alleviate pain by addressing the root causes, such as misaligned vertebrae or poor posture, that may be contributing to discomfort.

Improved Mobility and Flexibility:: Holistic chiropractic care helps to restore the proper alignment and function of the body’s joints and muscles. Regular chiropractic adjustments can reduce stiffness, increase flexibility, and improve range of motion, making it easier to perform everyday activities.

Enhanced Mental Clarity and Focus:: The benefits of chiropractic care extend beyond physical health. The spine, as the core support of the nervous system, has a direct influence on brain function. Proper spinal alignment can help reduce stress, anxiety, and mental fog, leading to greater clarity, focus, and overall mental well-being.

Boosted Immune System:: A healthy spine and nervous system can improve immune function, helping the body to fight off infections more effectively. By maintaining proper spinal alignment and reducing stress on the body, holistic chiropractic care supports the body’s natural defense systems, improving overall health and resilience.

Emotional Balance and Stress Relief:: Stress is a silent epidemic in our society today. Not only does it affect our emotional and mental state, but it also impacts our physical health. Holistic chiropractic care includes techniques to relieve stress, such as relaxation exercises, deep breathing techniques, and muscle therapy, helping to restore emotional balance and relaxation.

Holistic Chiropractic for Whole-Body Wellness

Chiropractic care is not just for those experiencing pain; it’s a powerful tool for anyone looking to enhance their overall well-being. The holistic approach encourages individuals to take an active role in their health, offering natural, non-invasive treatments that work in harmony with the body’s innate healing abilities.

By choosing holistic chiropractic care, you are not just treating symptoms — you are investing in your body’s long-term health and vitality. Whether you’re dealing with pain, stress, or simply want to optimize your overall wellness, holistic chiropractic care can help restore balance, allowing you to live your life to the fullest.

Conclusion

Holistic chiropractic care offers a unique, comprehensive approach to health that focuses on the person as a whole, not just isolated symptoms. By restoring spinal alignment, improving mobility, and addressing emotional and mental health, it helps individuals achieve a state of balance and well-being. The power of holistic chiropractic care lies in its ability to treat the root causes of discomfort, allowing the body to heal naturally and function optimally. If you’re ready to experience true wellness, consider visiting a holistic chiropractor who can guide you on your journey to a healthier, happier life.
The post The Power of Holistic Chiropractic Care: Restoring Balance for a Healthier Life first appeared on Chiropractic Plus.

Discover the healing power of spinal decompression therapy, a non-surgical beacon of hope for those suffering from back and neck pain. In this blog, we’ll unravel how this gentle, yet effective treatment can offer you a path back to comfort and wellness. Join us as we delve into the transformative world of spinal decompression – your potential key to a pain-free life.

Decompression therapy may sound like a modern marvel, but it’s grounded in solid science. At its heart, it’s about biomechanics – the way our bodies move and function. By gently stretching the spine, we create a negative pressure within the disc space.

Decompression therapy is a gentle and non-invasive treatment that has been gaining attention for its potential to relieve pain and improve wellness. It’s like giving your spine a soothing vacation! This therapy is especially beneficial for those suffering from back pain, neck pain, or issues related to herniated or bulging discs. In this blog, we’ll dive into the world of decompression therapy, exploring how it works, its benefits, and what you can expect during a session. Whether you’re a long-time sufferer of spinal discomfort or just curious about new ways to enhance your wellbeing, this journey into decompression therapy might just be the relief you’ve been searching for!

Decompression therapy is like a gentle stretch for your spine, aimed at creating space and improving health. Imagine your spine as a stack of blocks with soft cushions (discs) in between. Sometimes, these cushions can get squished or move out of place, causing discomfort. Decompression therapy gently stretches the spine, creating a little more space between these blocks. This stretching helps to reduce pressure on the discs, allowing them to get back into their happy place and promoting the movement of nutrient-rich fluids, oxygen, and water into the discs. This influx of nutrients helps the discs heal and can provide significant relief from pain.

This therapy is not just about stretching the spine; it’s about creating an environment where your body can heal more effectively. In the next section of our blog, we’ll delve into the benefits of this therapy and how it can be a game-changer for those dealing with chronic back or neck pain. So, stay tuned and get ready to explore how decompression therapy could be your spine’s new best friend!

As we embark on this journey, let’s first understand the magic behind decompression therapy. At its core, it’s all about creating space and peace for your spine. Think of it like this: your spine, a magnificent pillar of bones, muscles, and nerves, sometimes gets a little cramped – like being stuck in a crowded elevator. Decompression therapy is the process of gently stretching the spine, which is like finally stepping out into a spacious lobby. This stretching gives your discs – those little cushions between your spinal bones – room to breathe, move back into place and start healing.

Now, you might wonder, “How does it feel?” or “Is it safe for me?” These are great questions! Decompression therapy sessions are typically quite relaxing – many people even use this time to meditate or catch a quick snooze. The machine used in this therapy is a state-of-the-art piece of equipment, meticulously designed to target your specific spinal issues with precision and gentleness.

But the real question is, “What are the benefits?” People who have undergone decompression therapy often report significant relief from chronic pain, a decrease in nerve pressure, and an overall sense of improved well-being. It’s like a reset button for your spine!

The Benefits: More Than Just Relief

While pain relief is a significant benefit, decompression therapy offers much more. It’s like opening a window for your spinal health, letting in fresh air and sunlight. This therapy can improve blood flow to the spine, which is crucial for bringing in those healing nutrients and whisking away the unwanted byproducts of inflammation. It’s not just a temporary fix but a step towards long-term spinal health.

Who Can Benefit?

Decompression therapy isn’t just for those with severe issues. Whether it’s the office worker with a stiff neck from long hours at the computer, the weekend warrior feeling the aftermath of over-enthusiasm, or someone recovering from a back injury, this therapy can be tailored to a wide range of needs. It’s a versatile tool in the wellness toolkit.

What Happens During a Session?

Curious about what a session looks like? It’s quite simple. You’ll lie down on a specialized table, and the therapist will fit you with harnesses around your pelvis and trunk. These harnesses connect to the decompression machine, which is programmed to apply a specific amount of stretching force to your spine. Don’t worry; it’s not like a medieval torture device! It’s a slow, controlled, and precise stretch that targets exactly what your spine needs. Most people find it quite relaxing.

Preparing for Your First Session

If you’re considering decompression therapy, here are a few tips to prepare for your first session:

Wear comfortable clothing that won’t restrict your movement.

Drink plenty of water before and after the session to help your body process the therapy.

Be open and honest with your therapist about your pain levels and any concerns you have.

Decompression therapy could be the answer you’ve been looking for – a gentle, non-invasive way to give your spine the care and attention it needs. Stay tuned as we explore more about this innovative therapy and how it’s helping people reclaim their comfort and mobility.

In traditional western medicine, the cause of low back pain is often believed to be a lumbar disc bulge or muscle spasm. The reason being related to the sacroiliac joints in the pelvis is often overlooked. The bones of the sacrum and ilium join together to create the sacroiliac joint. The motion made available at the joint is limited, but the movement also influences the pubic symphysis and L5-S1. The sacroiliac joint moves in a coupled manner with rotation and translation, meaning that one cannot be accomplished without the other.

This joint can be prone to damage causing hypermobility if ligamentous structures are involved or hypomobility if the injury occurs purely at the joint. The most common mechanisms of harm to the joint include falling directly on the buttocks, lifting in a torsional manner, stepping down, or getting out of bed. This joint can also become irritated after pregnancy because the hormone relaxin allows for a greater range of motion for the birthing process. Studies have shown that aging causes a decreased range of motion, and males have a more significant loss of movement.

Point to the most significant site of pain in your low back. If you pointed to the area next to the bony prominence of the pelvis called the PSIS, your pain is likely due to the involvement of the sacroiliac joint. Sacroiliac dysfunction can also cause hip pain and symptoms outside the calves, feet, and toes. Sacroiliac pain is shown to be increased primarily during time spent seated.

If you are looking to have the pain in your low back resolved, the best thing to do is schedule an appointment with a corrective chiropractor. On your first visit, the chiropractor will perform an exam to identify the structures involved and most likely perform x-rays to identify any arthritic decay. The doctor will also set goals and develop a treatment plan to reach your goals. Research has shown that 90% of people suffering from sacroiliac dysfunction experienced relief after 2-3 weeks of chiropractic care.
The post The Cause of Your Low Back Pain Might Not Be a Disc: Your Guide to Resolving Sacroiliac Pain By: Dr. Andrew Baranski first appeared on Chiropractic Plus.

I have had an influx of patients presenting with the complaint of ringing in the ear, also known as tinnitus. This condition can burden daily living and cause poor concentration, memory difficulties, and poor sleep. Many people seek answers after realizing the issue is not improving, even after an appointment with their medical provider. The people who present with such problems in practice could have many pain symptoms, but it is often tinnitus when asked which one they wish would improve first.

The medical approach to tinnitus has not shown to be effective. A study performed in 2018 asked patients receiving treatments for tinnitus how effective intervention has been and 82.6% answered: “not at all effective.” In the medical community, the cause of tinnitus is a mystery and is managed by many different specialists. Visits to specialist after specialist increase frustration levels as the ringing in the ears persist for many patients.

My goal as a doctor of chiropractic is not to treat any condition but to restore the natural rhythm of bodily processes, which allows the body to function optimally and without symptoms. In restoring function to the body, I always start with the central nervous system because it is the body’s grand conductor. The most crucial aspect of an optimized central nervous system is an uninterrupted relationship with the peripheral nervous system. The peripheral nervous system is the interface between the central nervous system and the body’s organs, muscles, joints, and glands.

The central and peripheral nervous systems meet inside tiny holes between each vertebra called the intervertebral foramen (IVF). The spinal nerves that live within these holes do not like to experience any tension or pressure. The problem with modern humans is that we have lived lives outside of our physiological design and have assumed postures and traumas that decreased the size of these holes, interfering with the communication within the nervous system.

The neck area is the area that has received the most insult from the modern lifestyle and is also the most miraculous 7 inches of the body. The neck is the foundation holding the skull upright, and the spinal nerves exiting the spinal cord are going to organs, such as the thyroid, lungs, heart, and back to the brain. The spinal nerves in the neck create a series of nerve bundles that affect the blood to the brain and senses, such as vision and hearing.

When the nerves of the neck are damaged, you can see that this can affect many functions in the body. The neck becomes immobilized from traumas such as whiplash injuries, or chronic postures like sitting. When the cervical spine is immobilized, the muscles attaching the neck to the skull become spasmed and weak. As these muscles become ineffective, the spine loses its normal curvature, and pressure is placed on the nerves of the cervical spine. The most common are the nerves originating below the occiput and the third cervical vertebra. These nerves exit the spine and create a bundle of nerves called the superior cervical plexus. The nerve fibers from this plexus help form the caroticotympanic nerve, which controls the blood supply to the inner ear.

When the caroticotympanic nerve is overstimulated, this causes a decrease of blood flow to the ear canal, which is attributed to ringing in the ear. In many cases, the spine has been malpositioned for over ten years and occurred before the onset of tinnitus. A corrective chiropractor can infer from the years that loss of spinal alignment has been present from the level of degeneration seen on x-ray images. The relieving news is that even though the problem has been current for years, in most cases, results are seen within months. The key is getting started with the Max Living lifestyle sooner rather than later.

The 5 Essentials and Tinnitus

Core Chiropractic

Moving the spine towards a state of optimal alignment takes the pressure off the nerves causing tinnitus. Your Max Living chiropractor will also prescribe homecare exercises to assist in correcting the spine efficiently. Procedures to help achieve quicker results in tinnitus include traction and neck strengthening exercises.

Mindset

Stress is experienced every day in modern humans, and tinnitus sufferers have been shown to experience heightened levels of anxiety when compared to asymptomatic people. Research has demonstrated that tinnitus symptoms improve when the nervous system reaches a state of relaxation through vagal stimulation. Ways to stimulate the vagus nerve include meditation, box breathing, and walks in nature.

Nutrition

The body is constantly repairing, recycling, and creating new cells, and the material to develop new cells is the food you consume. To take the stress off the nervous system and allow for optimal healing, it is vital to consume an anti-inflammatory diet, like the Max Living Advanced Plan. Research has also shown that supplementing B vitamins, zinc, resveratrol, and Ginkgo Biloba are effective for helping relieve tinnitus.

Movement

Our bodies were designed to move and move often. The problem is that humans have domesticated themselves and have become increasingly sedentary. Research has shown that inactive individuals suffer from tinnitus at greater frequencies. Aim to achieve at least 45 minutes of low-level movement each day, such as walking, and three sessions of 12-minute high-intensity burst training per week.

Toxicity

Ototoxicity is poisoning of the inner ear from medications or chemicals. To lower the risk of ototoxicity, remove toxic hygiene and cleaning products from your homes, and ask your doctor for strategies to limit or eliminate prescription medication. The Max Living Cleanse and Detox System supplements effectively remove stored toxins from the body.
The post Your Guide to Stop the Ringing in Your Ears By: Dr. Andrew Baranski first appeared on Chiropractic Plus.

Imagine you are sitting at your computer and you have an important deadline looming for work. Your ideas are not flowing and you begin talking to yourself negatively. You begin to tell yourself that you are not capable of such a taks, or you begin blaming co-workers or your spouse for your late start. You feel as if you have no control of the situation. All of a sudden a thought of brilliance appears, you have a dinner party planned this weekend and you do not possess a single article of clothing that would suffice. So you open a shopping app and hit the buy with a click option. Now that you have that off your plate you can begin getting back to work, but you have a discomfort in your upper back, so you must purchase a new foam roller with another click. In the midst of 30 seconds you have solved your wardrobe and your body aches. You are now complete and adequate enough to be accepted by society.

Retail therapy has been a consistent modality for anxiety for years, but the problem has only been exemplified by the convenience of online shopping. If you want a good laugh, watch George Carlin’s skit on “stuff.” The endless pursuit for more stuff that puts us back in control of our anxiety only creates more anxiety because now the stuff we have hoarded has caused chaos in our homes. We now need to make more money to buy more stuff or buy more space to store our stuff. The truth is that if you are searching for stuff to make you happy, happiness will never be found because there is an abundance of stuff to be purchased.

There is a new movement called minimalism and studies are showing that minimalists are reaching a state of happiness and positivity that transcends its constituents. Minimalists are shown to experience a heightened well-being and find more joy while owning less things and this all makes logical sense on a neurological and anthropological basis. Humans were designed to be nomadic beings, and the majority of our neurology is designed to identify threats, find food, and discover mating opportunities. We were not designed to accumulate things that were unnecessary for our survival.

The accumulation of things is an association of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and compulsive purchasing is associated with anxiety. OCD and anxiety are both identified in brain scans to affect the anterior cingulate cortex and the insula. The anterior cingulate cortex is important for decision making, and the insula is important for controlling autonomic function. A pattern of behavior that chronically affects these brain areas can lead to decreased well-being, and pathology over time.

There is never a better time than now to experience true happiness in the human experience and not in material goods. When the thought of purchasing something arrives, ride that wave of emotion for at least 15 minutes. Also a mediation practice helps to bring awareness to your forefront. The more aware you are of your mind the more control you can have to compulsive purchasing.
