The handbags below, on the other hand, are part of the Art Bag collection Lisa Perry has collaborated with the Borbonese and The Lichtenstein Foundation, featuring Roy Lichtenstein’s work. According to reports, a leather goods company based in Italy has manufactured handbags that is actually from the original design of the scientist and artist. Da Vinci apparently drew this on paper several centuries ago.

The handbag, which will be called Pretiosa (meaning, Precious in Italian), will go on sale by March 1. It comes from the company Gherardini, and it is made of calfskin leather with hand-sewn embroidery and a brass handle.

Pretiosa comes in only 99 pieces, which means that this is an ultimate collector’s items. The drawing of the purse was apparently filed in The Codex Atlanticus, which is a book that contains all of Da Vinci’s work between 1478 to 1519.

This is currently on sale at Zappos for $100 and made in patent synthetic leather with quilting. I like this style for its sturdy form, though I’m not exactly a fan of patent leather. This is, however, an elegant copy of the Chanel handbag, for a lesser, more affordable price.

Kate Spade Quilted Signature Stevie

This is a bit pricier at $195, but nevertheless, you get a gorgeous Kate Spade bag in quilted design, for less than a Chanel’s price. This particular style is a classic Spade form, and comes with Kate Spade’s dot motif. You can use this bag day in and day out.

This Le Pliage has the words “‘Greetings From Paradise, The Land Of Sunshine” and comes in the brightest color assortments, it does look like a handbag with a burst of sunshine.

I don’t think this bag is for someone who prefers the classic Le Pliage in plain, but colorful choices, but this is what Jeremy Scott’s design ideas are famous for — bright, bold and cool and definitely trendy.

The handbag is already for sale at Colette’s in the UK and will be released elsewhere in the world in 2012.
