my brows and I had an EXPERIENCE and I want to share it so you can go and have an EXPERIENCE as well.

In the frenzy to get ready for a client meeting and since two caterpillars cleverly disguised as eyebrows had taken residence up on my face, I was flying through Macy’s. I rounded the corner headed for the escalator and encountered a warm pink haven with a glowing sign: Benefit Brow Bar

I stopped and gawked for a moment and a delightful woman who was delicately tweezing a woman’s brows turned and smiled and asked if she could help me. She had marvelous eyebrows. Truly. And a marvelous smile to match. We made an appointment for 30 minutes and I ran off to scour the racks.

When I came back, Theresa (who introduced herself, kept smiling and made me feel TOTALLY comfortable and not like I was going to be eyebrow waxed in the middle of the cosmetics department at Macy’s) sat me in the chair and then went to work.

I call the Benefit Brow Bar an EXPERIENCE because from the moment I encountered Theresa and made the appointment until I stared in amazement at my perfectly shaped brows, I felt just like a treasured customer should feel: comfortable, relaxed and the center of attention.

She chatted pleasantly, made quick work of the caterpillars and smiled through my embarrassed mutterings about working too much to tweeze. The truth is – I don’t tweeze – I am a sissy. And my last experience at the hairdresser with a slightly madcap Brazilian woman had left me with crooked brows and a red rash that lasted 4 days. My teenage son was even impressed and loved that she talked to him about his eyebrows (although he would not let her do them … yet).

Theresa reassured me that I would be in tiptop shape for my meeting with no lasting redness and a well-groomed presentation to boot. She was correct.

And I am hooked and I can’t wait to go back and request Theresa at the Macy’s in Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida. For my readers in South Florida – CALL HER … THERESA 561-393-4235. She will make you feel like the center of the universe for 20 minutes AND give you fabulous brows.

THAT is an experience and THAT is phenomenal customer service. I love it.

Thank You, Theresa and Thank You, Benefit Brow Bar – It might be a good thing or it might be a bad thing depending on what the journal reveals!

For those of you who are diligent about writing in your journal on a daily basis, do you ever wonder what your grown children will think when they read your entries after you are gone? Remember the movie, ‘Bridges of Madison County’, when the children were reading the diary Francesca wrote during her life? Especially about the affair she had with the photographer? What a shock to the children! I’m sure you also remember that the daughter accepted it better than the son.

So, what is in your diary? Do you want your children to read it after you are gone? Many stories that I have heard of say they wouldn’t want their children to be hurt by reading it. Another segment of people say that since we are all human, their children should accept their human mistakes and learn from it. Then again, some people are careful not to offend anyone with their journaling. As therapists tell us, Journaling is good therapy for us. Doreene Clement states:

“Writing, expressing can heal us. It can focus, support, and enhance our lives and well-being. Whether we laugh or we cry, whether through sorrow or joy, we can understand more about ourselves, and each other, through keeping a journal, diary, or diaries.”

- Doreene Clement

I had a friend who wrote in his diary every day for over forty years! When he died he had boxes and boxes of red diaries. I often wondered if someone took the time to read them. It would be a shame after all of his journaling, if his kids didn’t read any of them, but, then again, he probably didn’t do it for his kids. He did it for himself. I have another friend from many years ago who made a decision that she would not want her kids to read her thoughts about her troubled marriage so she threw them out. I have read that Oprah and Gayle have already talked about their journals and what to do with them after one dies.

What about you? What are your thoughts on this subject?

I’m always here to help you with your sorting of paperwork and your disposal of your household. Paperwork is such a burden for the older generation. They are not sure what to keep, what to save, and, basically, have a hard time to free themselves of all of their papers that give them many memories.

You can call me, Chris, at 561-512-7482 .

Color, Click, Capture Photography Blog Hop – The Color Orange

Life in the Hive

Photography

blog hop

photos of orange

shakti womyn photography

the color orange

Photography is my passion and how I love to spend my free time! I adore my new Canon camera and my only complaint is that I have not had enough time to get out and shoot.
