Mojave Desert, California. It was rainy and cloudy that day, which made it very special for photos!

He who first met the Highlands' swelling blue
Will love each peak that shows a kindred hue,
Hail in each crag a friend's familiar face,

My camera recently went through a near-death experience. I was kayaking in the Russian River and the kayak turned upside down while I was clicking. Thankfully, I had the presence of mind to immediately remove the battery and let it dry out for a few hours before giving it in for a sensor clean-up. The camera survived, and so this blog goes on.

This is the first picture I made after getting back the camera today. It's true what they say - nothing like absence to make the heart grow fonder.

One thing that makes Death Valley unique is the existence of multiple layers of rock all layered against each other; obvious from trails like these.
