She is incredibly engaging and she makes some super fun things. We ended up going out for burritos after the podcast, which is always way fun. Cat like going to Disneyland and talking about cool movies. These things, plus like a thousand other things, make her super radical. Check out the podcast if you dare! iTunes Link Stitcher Link Feed Link Direct Link You can follow us here: @catsolen @buckcast @foshjorbes @jessegloyd Your mother will thank you. http://ia601207.us.archive.org/25/items/CatSolen/CatSolen2.mp3</itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>Popular,culture,insignificant,historical,tangents,forced,metaphors,comedy,and,baseball,buckshotboogaloo,com</itunes:keywords>

34: Matt Dwyer

Even though the sound is a bit batty (for reasons I can’t seem to figure out), Matt Dwyer’s second stint on The Buckshot Boogaloo podcast was quite amazingly fun. Josh was not present, which was a bummer, but he was busy contributing to the great collective of creating funny and good things and could not make the evening.

It was fun pontificating a bit about movies and sport. I remember hearing Will for the first time on The Baseball Prospectus Podcast. It was 2005. I had just started listening to podcasts. We all had. I was working at the Hollywood Athletic Club, scraping old dried plaster and paint off the ceiling. We were restoring the Hollywood Athletic Club back to its original glory. The work was pretty monotonous, but the monotony was eased by the discovery of the podcast.

I might try and go see Neil Hamburger if I’m not still at urgent care with the baby who was crying in the middle of the podcast. My baby who was crying in the middle of the podcast might have an ear infection. They say that children who have ear infections have a difficult time sleeping, what with the mess of sick rolling around inside of their ears. I’m definitely not positive this is the case as he can’t talk yet. He can’t tell us there’s a mess of sick rolling around up inside of his ears. Henry Phillips is coming up next, so I thought I’d talk some about him. Mike Phirman told us we should interview him, so I emailed him. He said he could come by and then we began the dance. There is a certain dance that always seems to accompany the booking process—especially a booking process as nebulous as this. We emailed back and forth a couple times and then he showed up on Marc Maron’s WTF pod.

I met Michael with my friend Vern Moen on a trip back from a place near Yosemite. Vern had just bought a car and we stopped for some cheese and beer at a place that sold cheese and beer. I didn’t have much money at the time, so I remember the cheese and beer not being an easy buy. I remember trying to figure out how to justify the purchase of cheese and beer to my wife. I find myself often trying to justify things to my wife (this podcast, other cheeses, other beers).

sOur friend Shaun was with us. I have known Shaun for a long time and I’m pretty sure he’s the type of Shaun to spell his name as such. I think. I could be wrong. I could probably go look it up, but it would erase the worth of the previous few sentences. Shaun was the one who noticed Michael. Shaun was the one who had started watching Mad Men. He was the one who told us it was a cool show. Vern and I hadn’t started watching it when we met Michael. I imagine we told him we loved the show. I imagine he didn’t really care either way.

All said, we didn’t talk about Mad Men during the episode. We talked a little about acting. We talked some about K19: The Widowmaker and about Chris Elliott. I think he spells Elliott with two t’s, but I’m not positive. I’d check if I had the patience, but my child is screaming in the bedroom. He is young and we are making him “cry it out.” Crying it out is a thing parents do to make their children sleep. It gets them ready for the real world. I think. I’m not sure. I’m not sure of too much, to be honest. Except for my lack of certainty regarding the spelling of two names and the fact the my noise canceling headphones are not canceling much.

Enjoy!

Michael isn’t on the internet anywhere.
