We love Old Navy’s Multi-Stripe Crocheted Gloves for girls ($9.50). Colorful, cozy, and a little bit bohemian, these are a great funky pair. (Pair with cords for an even more 60s-esque look.) Choose from warm tones (pink, orange, brown) or cool tones (green, blue yellow).

For boys, we love Old Navy’s Fleece Lined Ski Gloves ($10.50) perfect for snowballs lovers and skiers alike and come in three great styles, bright blue, camo, and black. Made from quick-drying polyester and featuring an adjustable buckle-tab at the wrist, these gloves keep warmth in and bits of snow out.

Gap’s Pro-Fleece Polka Dot Mittens ($12.50 or two for $20), are another one of our favorites. Super-snuggly and super-bright, these true mitten-style hand-warmers make winter weather fun.

What we say: When jackets are too bulky and a little extra warmth is needed, try a fleece or down vest to keep coldness at bay. We love these vests layered over a thermal tee or even a sweater for super chills days. They look great with skirts and leggings, jeans, cords or even ski pants, if you’re hitting the slopes.

Old Navy has a great fleece vest for girls that comes in ice blue, magenta, bright green, black, white, and butterfly pattern. ($22) Not only do you have your pick of color, but with cozy lining, snapping pockets, and a zipper that goes form hem to neck, this vest is fashionable but also fully-loaded for winter.

For boys we love Old Navy’s Chest-Stripe Quilted Vest. A little bit seventies, a little bit surfer, this cozy item is both fun and functional. Choose between brown and red or light and dark blue.

Target also has some great vests for boys and girls for $19.99. Check out this plaid vest for boys that could be skater or classic, depending on how it is worn. For girls we love this reversible vest. The green version had argyle pattern on the inside, while the magenta one had plaid. Super cute and versatile.

We love this ivory vest from Mimi Maternity ($59.99). While a little pricey, it’s the best deal we’ve found for a vest of this caliber—this one has a fur-lined hood, thick padding to keep the cold out, and a secure enclosure.

Liz Lange for Target has this simple but classic suit-vest ($13.99), which is a great piece for dressing up a t-shirt or wearing open with a cute dress.

Another great choice is this chocolate brown Urban Vest from Neiman Marcus ($31.00) With a Mandarin collar and a hidden snap front, this vest is not only chic, it’s high-fashion.

What we say: Kids these days have Hannah Montana and Guitar Hero, but our favorite superheroes, TV characters, even bands are making a comeback via fun graphic tees our kids can wear. Show them what you loved as a kid with these great finds. (And really, can kids ever get enough tees?)

What we say: The story of Corduroy is one many of us read as kids. But don’t let a bear have all the fun—cords are a great winter fabric for keeping kids warm and our picks are super stylish as well.

We love CrewCuts’Girls’ Riley Cord ($19.99) in bright peacock and poppy. Super colorful, these pants will brighten even the dreariest winter days.

For boys, check out these cords at Old Navy in khaki, black, and moose brown ($19.50). Sturdy, durable, and in great colors that match just about anything, these pants are a sure winter staple.

Or for the cord look in other clothing items, we like these Boys’ Corduroy Slip-Ons ($14.99) from GapKids. Made with high-quality corduroy, comfortable elastic insets, and leather-like trim, these kicks are easy to clean but also keep feet warm.

For girls Gap’s Brushed Cord Skirt ($24.50) is a cute way to wear the fabric dressier. This snappy skirt comes in pink coral, happy green and classic brown and looks perfect paired with a chunky sweater and tights. A pretty flower accessory finishes off the look.

Gap Maternity has some great leggings ($19.50) that are a bit dressier than the ones you’d typically find in that they are made from a stretch cotton blend. These are a great pick for a more fancy occasion, or if you prefer leggings that are a bit thicker.

~ We love this Girls’ Butterfly Print Hoodiefrom Target ($12.99). The candy-colored butterflies are off-set by cozy heather gray, making a hoodie that has just the right amount of flair but also the warmth to combat the chilly air.

~ This Girls Butterfly Cardigan ($5) from Old Navy is another great find. With its rose-red butterflies on a white background, this short-sleeved sweater is perfect for pairing with a simple dress or for layering over a long-sleeve polo or under a cute jacket for a preppier look.

~ Our best find was this Old Navy Dress ($4.99). The monarch butterflies fluttering over a navy background and ruffled pintucking detail on the neck makes this dress super pretty. Layer with a long-sleeve tee and tights for a sweet winter look.

~ Gap’s Sporty Graphic Tees (9.99) are our favorite sport-themed shirts for boys. These faded-image, retro tees feature on of four sports—soccer, hockey, football, basketball—very hip yet totally sporty.

~ We also like this Sports Word Tee ($4.99) from Old Navy. It features a basketball made up of athletic terms, so he’ll have all the lingo he needs.

~ From Oklahoma to USC, Chargers to Giants, Target has tons of fan-specific tees for boys for both college and major league teams ($13.99). A great way to support his favorite sports players.

The Lowdown: Fab and inexpensive maternity clothing is a huge challenge to find, but we think that Old Navy is getting it right with cute and stylish maternity styles for less, some of which are only availalbe online. For fall we like all the versatile basics they offer, including this Maternity Pieced Tie-Back Top, on sale for $16.50.

~ We love Liz Lange for Target’s Taffeta Color-Block Dress ($49.99) The black/ivory combo is so Audrey Hepburn, yet the detailing on the waist is very modern. Made from high-quality fabric, it’s fabulous piece for any chic affair, from a dinner party to a night out on the town.

~ Gap Maternity has a ($34.99) in a deep gray-lavender that is not only ethereally gorgeous, it reminds us of a funky-chic piece Jessica Alba might wear: Silk Shift Dress

~ This Tank Dress with Bow from Gap ($9.99) is another one of our fave finds. Its soft material and U-neckline is more low-key, but exceedingly svelte, and comes in crystal blue or tawny-gray. The no-frills frock reminds of Reese Witherspoon’s casual chicness. Pair with a sweater for a more casual affair.

The Lowdown: As the weather gets cooler, the long sleeve crew neck tee should become a staple in her wardrobe, especially when they’re as cute as the ones Limited Too has to offer. This bold Princess Blue is a pretty choice, and will look great layered with another tee or under a cardigan or hoodie.
