Mawi Store Opening: Carnival!

Another set of photos I forgot about..it's been a very busy time for me! I attended the opening of Mawi's first store in the East of London and managed to take some dodgy photos with my phone. The event was amazing and turned out to be a great success. There were dancers, a hoola-hoopist, game machines, fair ground food and celebrities galore including the very lovely Daisy Lowe and pint sized Bip Ling. The party was original, friendly, and the event planning was great. Thank you to the Modus girls: Ali, Louisa and Liz R for asking me and my friend Sophie to come and help Modus out! It was definitely a night to remember and the Mawi goodie bag wasn't one to scoff at!

Face Hunted and Forever Haunted...

I bumped into Yvan Rodic of Facehunter ( as you do) on a humble trip to the news agents and was asked to pose for a little picture. Having asked so many people to pose for my street style posts I thought it would be the karmatic thing to sort of nod and go along with it...even though I hadn't washed my hair in about 3 days and was probably as frazzled as a chipmunk. Here are the results...My face looks like a dimpled orange and I look a bit crotchy but I guess seeing your picture on someone elses site is like listening to your own voice on playback.

The Canary Islands Yaiza: Desktop Screensaver heaven..Literally

This has been my desktop background for the past couple of weeks, lets face it that's a pretty dreamy picture to be looking at whenever you get bored of checking your emails. Summer is fast approaching and all I want to do is go away- don't know if I can though with the whole job and moolah situation. Oh well, god bless you recession!

SS11 Shoots..in the dead of Winter BRRRR!

I've had these pictures sitting in my computer for a couple of months now...since February to be exact, and I guess in the world of blogging that's the biggest no no a blogger can commit! I guess we're all supposed to upload pictures of our food before we've even had a taste, or pictures of an event before we've gotten home. Well unfortunately I'm not like that AND I wasn't allowed to post these pictures up before the ad campaign was released in Hong Kong...so there, there's my excuse and I think it's pretty good.

I was asked to assist Cheryl Leung of Let them Eat Cake Magazine on two Bauhaus jobs she acquired whilst she was travelling around Hong Kong. The campaigns wont be featuring any where else as they are very local, and came out this SS11, but I thought I'd do a little behind the scenes collection of photos for anyone who was interested. The experience itself was interesting...from what I can recall as I sit facing a sunny display at my window was that February was the coldest month in London by far, and boy did i feel bad for the models. I never realised how hard modelling was until I had to spend 8 hours on a field somewhere out of London dressing blue boys and girls in skimpy little shorts and T-shirts whilst the stylists and photographer expected them to dance around like little monkeys (not literally though). It's a hard knock life- for models.

The second shoot was a little bit easier because we were about a minutes walk away from a coffee shop we hijacked (much to the displeasure of its owner) as our home base. However, coffee shop or not it was still about 4 degrees outside and on top of shivering to death the models had pedestrians leering at them from all along the side of the road..something I would find incredibly off putting whilst trying to look 'cool'.

All in all it was a humbling experience, I learnt how to create a makeshift clothes rail slash changing room in the middle of a road and field, met some interesting characters, and felt glad that I wasn't born with the genes of a supermodel because at the end of the day, I do love being warm.

Thanks to Cheryl and the Bauhaus team for letting me in on their freezing cold stints- it was an EXPERIENCE!

7 For all Mankind

I finally have the time to put these pictures up! Modus clients 7 for all Mankind hosted a little welcome soiree at their Regeant Street Flagship store. Me and my friend Denise arrived a little late but were greeted by free cocktails (oh dear!) and sparkly cupcakes (oh yes!). Our beautiful friend Rhiannon modelled some jeans, whilst the Kiehls counter team at Liberty's turned up with some fun beauty treats and freebies...what a lovely way to have started off a Friday night.

Thanks to everyone that made the evening very special and thanks to the bar tenders who made that evening particularly booozy

Super Moon

Did anyone see how big the moon was last Saturday? We were driving back from the beach at sunset and it was very beautiful, especially with a whole flock of birds flying in front of it
