A Fairly Tale is meant to be a feasible continuing story told by Bette S. Baysinger in a fairy tale context using historical artifacts and evidence that helped shape her interpretation of how things may have happened before us. It is about Consciousness so to tell as complete a story as possible, it starts before there was anything other than Consciousness. There is no “what happened before that” since this starts there.
BS uses the model of Reality based on there being nonphysical Consciousness that we each derive our individual and consensus realities from. Tom Campbell wrote the book on that in his My Big TOE trilogy, his “Theory of Everything” that has been the unifying concept in more than just physics as a TOE needs to be. It takes us out of the limited materialistic world view into one that does include everything, while at the same time helping to make sense of it as a useful model.

Currently physics experiments provide evidence that it is very likely our reality is based on nonphysical information or data. A Fairly Tale is told by a somewhat educated person (A.S., B.S., M.S.) using that model in a fast, adventurous account of the evolution of everything that hopes to provide enough food for thought to last until the next book. In this book we go from before the organization of Consciousness to about twenty thousand years ago, give or take. It is not a love story, but it is a story about Love.

Born in the United States, in MI, in the late 1950s, BS was the fifth of what would be six children, the first female, to a TV repair man and a housewife. She moved with the family of eight, little sister just months old, to California in the early 1960s; she is still in California to this day. Moving away from that family to Ridgecrest, CA, a small desert city, in the late 1970s, she eventually raised twins, a boy and girl, one having autism, singly, while earning an Associate of Science degree at her local college, followed by a B.S. degree and then an M.S. degree online. A big fan of Ancient Aliens with deep interest in the evidence they discover, as well as natural philosophy, which is all the sciences before they split with physics and neural psychology main foci, she has searched for a Theory of Everything (T.O.E.) that could help make sense of the experiences she has had in her life so far. Finding such a T.O.E. in 2003 in the model of reality in Tom Campbell’s trilogy My Big TOE, and with a foundation in science and education, that model is what the author bases her researched probable scenarios from, along with current scientific discoveries, which she enjoyed writing about in this, A Fairly Tale. Healthcare providers and the public had no education in how to conduct end of life grieving until 1969 when Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross published her experience with hospice patients at the end of life. She was a Swiss-American psychiatrist, a pioneer in near-death studies, and author of the internationally best-selling book, On Death and Dying (1969), where she first discussed her theory of the five stages of grief, also known as the “Kübler-Ross model”. Since then, grief has been expanded into different areas other than end of life. This book also describes the five stages of grief and adds two more stages. However, it delves deeper into the emotions involved with grieving and how one manages many grieving areas, such as death, divorce, job loss, and so forth. Therefore, this book is written for anyone going through a grieving process. We say pain, suffering, and grief are inevitable, but how to cope and improve life is only done with experiences and knowledge. This book is not just about grief, but other emotions that come into play such as forgiveness. As Forgiveness is associated with grief. We discuss the different types of forgiveness and how each functions. Understanding the emotions involved with forgiveness helps relieve the pain of hostility and grudges one may hold. Acceptance is the last stage of Kubler-Ross’s five stages of grief, but we take this a step further into social acceptance, which also plays a role in grief. We discuss acceptance by others, such as friends and family. We include rejection by others, which can produce grief. We also discuss acceptance of others, such as people of other races, gender and so forth. Rejection of others, such as being prejudice, can lead to grief by the victims and others around them. I felt compelled to write about all the hatred, pain, and suffering causing grief around the world. I wrote this in empathy for my patients who grieve. My Path to Global International Relations is a semi-autobiographical textbook.

Textbooks are comprehensive compilations of content in a branch of study students learn. Textbooks are produced to meet primarily the needs of educators. They come with ready-made PowerPoints, quizzes, videos, lesson-by-lesson schedules, etc., to facilitate the teacher’s job.

Unlike textbooks but like fiction generally, the autobiographical format of this work is designed primarily with a reader in mind: to be learned in an enjoyable way since it tells a real-life story. It is a story of “study abroad” gone awry at the height of the Cold War. The permission to study abroad in the Communist country came with strings attached: a KGB espionage assignment. The author’s home Prague, and she was only 24 at the time, was occupied by tanks. It became a moral issue for her, and having been blackmailed into accepting the espionage assignment, she blew her cover in England, where she was to study on a British scholarship. It started a lonely path of exile through international relations, statelessness, undocumented, and, for decades, unable to go home. It led to a challenging but successful career as a Professor of International Relations in several countries.

Standard textbooks quickly become out of date, the Preface stresses, the “Globe is in everybody’s living room.” Many stories and animated learning videos are referenced throughout this book and available separately. The chapter’s topics are interdisciplinary with history excursions, the philosophy of knowledge, social sciences, postcolonial studies, and sociology of knowledge (challenges universities face), and it introduces some of her friends and colleagues, the prominent scholars of the field of International Relations.
