“Six Flags Fiesta Texas continues to push the limits of thrill and innovation as we prepare to introduce the world’s steepest dive coaster during our 30^th anniversary season,” said Park President Jeffrey Siebert. “Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger joins an already stellar lineup of record-breaking roller coasters, rides, and attractions. With eight intense elements including dramatic inversions and extreme airtime, it will quickly become a fan favorite,” added Siebert.

As guests enter the ride queue, they will be immersed in the story of Dr. Diabolical and her evil quest to create menacing creatures to frighten the world. To give her creations life, Dr. Diabolical constructed a machine to capture the essence of human adrenaline and fear. Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger features three 21-passenger trains that keep the adrenaline flowing as riders reach a height of 15 stories, then pause face-first before diving at 60 mph and flying through a variety of high-thrill experiences. 

Key features of Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger include:

• Three sleek trains with three rows of passengers, seated seven across;
• 2,501 feet of soaring track;
• Thrilling anticipation while the ride vehicle pauses in a face-first cliffhanger hold before plummeting 150 feet; 
• Spectacular, beyond-vertical, 95-degree first drop; 
• A second 75-foot, near-vertical drop;
• An Immelmann inversion, during which riders enter a half-loop, followed by a half twist, then exit the element traveling in the opposite direction making a 180-degree turn;
• Four intense elements, including an extreme airtime hill, wild-banked turn, high-speed spiral, and 270-degree zero-g roll;
• Speeds of up to 60 mph;
• Immersive steampunk theming that tells the story of Dr. Diabolical’s plot to harvest fear;
• Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger is a custom-designed roller coaster created by Bolliger & Mabillard; and
• Riders must meet the 52-inch height requirement.

The impressive and elaborate Jupiter’s Claim set was created by Production Designer Ruth DeJong, then carefully disassembled post-production and transported to Universal Studios Hollywood where it was meticulously reconstructed on site, complete with original props and details from the film.

Jordan Peele, alongside producing partner Ian Cooper and Monkeypaw Productions, is thrilled to bring the film’s fictional theme park to Universal Studios Hollywood as a permanent Studio Tour attraction.  Concepting the integration of the set to the Studio Tour began early in production in partnership with the filmmakers, working collaboratively with Universal Creative at Universal Studios Hollywood to ensure authenticity and accuracy.

The Jupiter’s Claim set – which can only be seen on the Studio Tour – marks the first time that a Studio Tour attraction has opened day and date with a movie release.  It will be staged within Universal Studios’ backlot alongside a host of other iconic movie sets that include Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds, the infamous Psycho house from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and Courthouse Square from Robert Zemeckis’ Back to the Future. 

“I remember visiting Universal Studios when I was 12 years old and being mesmerized. That experience reinforced my passion and drive to someday join in on the meta-magic of ‘backlot life.’ Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to direct three movies for Universal,” said Jordan Peele. “It is a privilege to honor these collaborations with my studio partners, crew members and cast, and to be able to share Jupiter’s Claim with fans.”

Jupiter’s Claim, set in Southern California’s Santa Clarita Valley, is a family-fun theme park and predicated on the white-washed history and aesthetics of the California Gold Rush. Owned and operated with evangelical pride by former child star Ricky “Jupe” Park, Jupiter’s Claim becomes a pivotal location as the characters seek to investigate mysterious, unexplained phenomena, leading them toward increasing danger and terrifying consequences.

The Studio Tour is renowned for taking guests behind-the-scenes of an authentic movie and television production studio. Knott’s Berry Farm had a very distinct start by being a theme park that was born from food. Before the many attractions and rollercoasters were installed the Knott family began a humble business by selling berries and fried chicken to Buena Park locals. 

The history of Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant started in June 1934 when Cordelia Knott served the first fried chicken dinner meal for 65 cents to make ends meet during the Great Depression. Cordelia served these chicken dinners on her best wedding china. The success of the chicken dinners was immediate and by 1940, visitors were standing in line for hours to try Cordelia’s famous fried chicken. 

Mrs. Knott’s signature fried chicken dinner meal continues to be served with its family-style dining that includes deliciously herb-seasoned fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, tossed green salad, cherry rhubarb, kernel corn, freshly-made buttermilk biscuits with butter and boysenberry preserve; and a slice of Mrs. Knott’s scrumptious boysenberry pie for dessert. Each meal is freshly prepared by the Knott’s culinary team with the freshest ingredients. During the cubs’ first health checkup at three weeks of age, the Six Flags Veterinary Team noted that one female cub weighed only 2.5 pounds, the typical birthweight. The remaining cubs—three girls and one boy—tipped the scales at a healthy 6 pounds. The team brought the tiniest cub to the clinic, where she remained in an incubator and received around-the-clock bottle feedings until she began to thrive. “Without human intervention, she would not have survived,” said Six Flags Veterinarian Dr. Ken Keiffer, who also noted the grim survival rate of wild tigers at 50 percent.

Siberian tigers, also known as Amur tigers, are critically endangered with an estimated wild population of only 500 due to poaching, hunting and habitat loss. As the largest cats in the world, they average 11 feet long with a three-foot tail. Despite originating from snowy regions such as Russia, China and North Korea where a white coat may help them blend in with their surroundings, they bear a bold orange and black coat with a unique stripe pattern. They are powerful, solitary carnivores. 

“Nadya’s cubs help ensure the survival of this precious species for at least two more decades,” Dr. Keiffer said. “At Six Flags, we aim to teach our guests about conservation, and we hope it inspires them to help preserve these and other amazing animals here on Earth.”

Six Flags Wild Safari doubled its Siberian tiger population with this most recent birth. Guests can see Nadya and four of her cubs in the safari’s Tigris Asiana section of the Drive-Thru Adventure in the coming weeks. The littlest cub will remain in the veterinary clinic for the next few months.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort will cast its spooky spell Sept. 2 – Oct. 31, 2022. Featuring seasonal décor, Halloween-themed attractions, photo opportunities with favorite Disney characters and villains, plus specialty treats and more, there is something for everyone during this spook-tacular celebration.

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit – a delightful family-friendly pumpkin hunt – will return Sept. 9 – Oct. 31, 2022. The Halloween spirit will also extend to Downtown Disney District with colorful pumpkin décor and specialty offerings, plus the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will have Halloween-themed lobby displays, too.

Halloween Time at Disneyland Park

Throughout Disneyland Park, Guests may encounter favorite Disney characters in brand-new Halloween looks or wickedly wonderful Disney villains looking to stir up a bit of mischief. Vibrant seasonal décor will transform Main Street, U.S.A., with whimsical pumpkins displays, while ghouls and goblins of all ages will enjoy taking photographs with the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin.

The Haunted Mansion attraction will undergo its annual seasonal transformation to become Haunted Mansion Holiday, as Jack Skellington wrecks the halls of the mansion with frightfully festive decor inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Expect the sweet sight and smell of the mansion’s annual bespoke gingerbread house, perched perilously on the ballroom table.

Every night from Sept. 2 – Oct. 31, 2022, Guests may enjoy the return of the supernatural showcase “Halloween Screams”, a vibrant projection and light show. On weekend nights, “Halloween Screams” will take to the skies with fireworks that are sure to waken the Halloween spirits.** Guests will even be able to view this seasonal nighttime spectacular from several different locations throughout the park, including Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle and in front of “it’s a small world.”

At the entrance to Disney California Adventure Park, Oogie Boogie, from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” will loom over, channeling his magic to create a forever Halloween, transforming favorite attractions with eerie and ethereal details.

In Cars Land, Radiator Springs will become Radiator Screams, where resident “car-acters” will transform their homes with unique Haul-O-Ween twists. Lightning McQueen, Mater, Cruz and Red will be greeting guests in their best “car-stumes.” Guests can also catch a ride on popular Cars Land attractions that rev up with Halloween spirit: Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree opts for a spooky soundtrack to become Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters takes Guests on a wicked whirl-a-about to become Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.

Over in Avengers Campus, as night falls, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! transforms into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, an exciting and spooky adventure filled with creepy creatures and thrilling drops.

On Buena Vista Street, Mickey Mouse and friends don old-fashioned Halloween styles, poised and ready for photos. Festive Halloween décor will add to the ambiance on Buena Vista Street. When the sun sets, the façade of Carthay Circle Restaurant comes alive with Halloween magic as bats swarm, green energy pulses from within and projections light up the iconic tower structure with mesmerizing moments. And Guests will also want to stop for a photo in front of the 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman holding his jack-o’-lantern head high in the sky!

Plaza de la Familia returns to Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure Park from Sept. 2 – Nov. 2, 2022. This immersive, limited-time celebration, inspired by the spirit of Día de los Muertos, features live entertainment, festive foods, crafts and more. Can’t-miss activities include “A Musical Celebration of Coco,” a lively street performance honoring Disney and Pixar’s “Coco” and the everlasting bonds of family. Guests may also enjoy Mariachi music at Paradise Gardens Bandstand, The World of Coco, an intriguing art installation, a photo opportunity at the iconic Arbol de la Vida (Tree of Life) photo location and memory wall as well as a meet-and-greet with a hand-animated figure of Miguel from “Coco”.

On 23 select nights beginning Sept. 6, through Oct. 31, 2022, the separate-ticket, after-park hours event Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure Park will add to the family friendly fun during Halloween Time. This limited-capacity event offers kids and /guests of all ages the opportunity to enjoy the park’s attractions, unique entertainment, character sightings and more, while dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes. In addition to taking in all the spook-tacular sights and trick-or-treating experiences, Guests attending Oogie Boogie Bash will also be able to explore areas inside Disney California Adventure that remain open during the party, including Avengers Campus. Highlights of Oogie Boogie Bash include immersive treat trails, “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” show, the “Frightfully Fun Parade,” Villains Grove at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, and more. • Annual Ultimate Pass;
  • $350.00 or 12 payments of $29.24;
  • Includes access to all Six Flags outdoor parks, plus preferred parking, two Junior Passes, a ten-meal dining plan, and special savings.

In addition, for a limited time, guests have the option of a Summer Pass which includes access to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Hurricane Harbor Splashtown in Houston, plus general parking through Labor Day for only $69.99.
