We have been so busy that our posting on our blog has sadly been for some time neglected, but….

I’ve got some news!

Recently we organised a photo shoot to showcase our brand, and we are thrilled with the outcome. Take a look:

As well as filling orders from our original stock, I am madly designing a whole new range as an extension to The Halloo Line. And I am tickled pink to announce they will be available just in time for the trade fair in August. I do hope to share some images with you in the meantime, so keep posted on this blog.

I’m so pleased to say that I will again be partnering up with Rosedale Hankerchiefs, but with a whole new range of designs developed just for them! YIPPEE!! I love this new range, which, I’ll also keep you posted about very, very soon.

I must add today how pleased I am that The Little Star range is becoming increasingly popular. Whoever knows me, is aware of how much I go all gooey about astrology. So to me, these cards were just a BIG joy to work on. Not to mention, all of the descriptions are special references from the famous US astrologer, Georgia Nicols, books.What a charasmatic and refreshingly humourous personality, who kindly gave me her personal permission to use her material, WOW!! Thanks a heap Georgia, your a gem! And if you haven’t already, grab her latest book,Your 40 Year horoscope, it’s spookingly accurate!

#1 ORIENTAL ELEGANCE

Any visual composition created by line, colour and form can easily be underestimated or misunderstood by a viewer of art. But when this combination has the right mix of elements, it creates a perfect synergy, producing an appreciation from a person seeking a calming influence for their environment.

Perhaps, due to the busy, competitive life we all now lead, our subconscious minds are searching for mediums to encourage peace in our living spaces to help us balance our lives. And learning to appreciate art in any of it’s forms is an increasing trend these days.

Personally, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a spare moment appreciating art and the message it shares and if it helps to balance my life in the meantime, what a bonus!

This is an oddly attractive statement piece that clearly invokes the tropical lands of some of my favourite destinations. (Trust me I have many) Adding a sense of harmony, freedom and life to an empty space or corner – I WANT ONE!

Mainly to remind me of why it is I work so hard. But then I gathered maybe, just maybe by bringing the tropics to my own front door and favourite living space, I might not feel the need to spend ALL of my hard earned savings on searching for that extravagant sensation of exotica, because I just might have that at home… Heaven!

The Fiddle Leaf Fig or Ficus Lyrata is a ‘banyan’ fig (a plant growing on another plant) has huge fan shaped dark green leaves that grow upright on a tall plant, a perfect indoor plant when placed near a window to soak in the sun. Due to its inner toughness, the Fiddle Leaf Fig can withstand less than perfect conditions but would very much appreciate some frequent misting.

So fellow interior enthusiasts, this weekend I’m off to find my own daily leaf of absence…

But the true story of all those lives lost that night 100 years ago captured by James Cameron in his film is one of those tragedies that is just to hard to comprehend. But just the thought of seeing the Titanic sail again in honour of that night, is a celebration I’m very excited about and so I got a little bit busy one night and, well, here’s the result!

I love a good interior, designed for a particular purpose or style in mind. But what really turns me on an intriguing home exterior’s that’s unique, who’s special features whisper tales of a story I want to explore. Homes like these connect to me like a magnet and never ceases to draw me into a new world I’m ever so curious to discover.

For me, it doesn’t have to be an architecturally designed home to make that sort of impact, it just needs a wee bit of character.

You’d all agree that different characters are what makes a good story and when it has the right mix, that’s the hook I need to hang my hat on so I can stay a while!

This morning I was checking my usual emails when I opened a blog post from Hermit Homewares that I just had to share.

‘Jonathan is a British artist that lives on the seaside in Cornwall, and his works use salvaged sea glass pieces that are collected from his local beach. Sea glass is the remains of broken items that have been weathered and shaped by the elements into smooth, textured and frosted fragments of glass.

He arranges the sea glass in simple designs which allow the beautiful colour and texture to shine within a stunning minimal sculpture. His pieces echo the ocean in their tones and their layered arrangement mimics the oceans ebb and flow.’ Hermit Homewares.

Creating something so beautiful from a natural and pure source should be celebrated and featured in an interior. I could see this displayed in a beach side boutique hotel somewhere to be admired by dozens at once, couldn’t you?.

This romantic notion instantly reminded me of one of my ALL time favourite movies that I never tire from watching, Sweet Home Alabama, featuring Reece Witherspoon and Josh Lucas. A feel good movie about a love that never dies and is awakened by an activity they shared, ‘salvaging sea glass pieces that are collected from his local beach’, sound familiar?

What’s not to love about that?

This little old ensuite is a project that is a bit dear to my heart, and ain’t it romantic? There’s a few drawers missing, and a light shade but when this one’s finished the love story begins!

TODAY its all about being smitten with, having sweet crushes on, been moonstruck by and being devoted to…and above all showing the love.
