Delete Fonts from Procreate

Tap Delete from the drop-down menu.

Now you can select and delete the fonts you don’t want.

Tip: You can also import fonts the same way. Just save the font file to this folder and Procreate will automatically upload them for you.

If you are making die-cut stickers to sell, you will need to make sure they have a white outline around them. Once you have your design you can use a variety of ways to add the white outline to your die-cut sticker. I tested out a few ways to make the white border and in this article I will show you how to use Photoshop to add the white outline around your die-cut sticker design.

It really doesn’t matter what version of Photoshop you have. I have a super old version of Photoshop and it does the trick. You just need to make sure you have Blending Options and Stroke available.

I think this method much quicker than doing the Procreate method I see taught on TikTok. The Photoshop method of making the white outline for stickers only has a few steps. Procreate is a great program for those who like using a pencil but if you are a hard-core computer person like I am, and you would rather use your mouse, this is the technique for you.

If you prefer, you can watch the video I created to show you how to add the white border around your die-cut sticker using Photoshop.

Add the White Border Around an Image in Photoshop

1. Open Photoshop and then open your design file. You will need a .png image with a transparent background.

2. Add a new layer and drag it below the design. (optional)

3. Fill the new layer with a dark color. I like to use black (#000000) or dark grey (#333333). This allows me to see my image much easier so I know the white outline looks correct.

4. Right-click on the image layer and then left-click on Blending Options.

5. Click in the box next to Stroke.

6. Click on the color box and drag to select white or change the Hex color to #FFFFFF. Click OK.

7. Change the Structure size to a larger number. I like to use 15 to 20 px but it depends on the size of your image. Just play around with it until your white outline looks the size you want. Click OK.

8. If you have a simple image you are done. Just hide the dark layer and save as a .png file.

9. If you have a more complex image that is still showing some gaps, use the brush tool to fill in those gaps with white.

Add the White Border Around Text in Photoshop

If you want to add a white outline around a text layer there are a few things that are different.

1. Open Photoshop and create a new file or open an existing file that has your text.

2. You can leave the text layer as-is or click the Layers menu and then Rasterize. This turns your text layer into an image.

3. Follow steps 2 through 7 above.

4. If choose to Rasterize your text, press the B key on your keyboard to enable the brush tool. Make sure the color is white and the brush size isn’t too big. Fill in the empty areas of the white outline that didn’t get filled in with the stroke.

5. If you didn’t Rasterize your text, create a new layer, drag it below the text layer, use the brush tool with white and fill in the empty area to complete your sticker.

YouTube recently upgraded their sharing options and now it seems a bit harder to pick a variety of sizes for YouTube videos to share on your blog or website. If you click the Share icon you will get a 560px wide HTML video code. If your blog posting area is wider or you want to show the video on your homepage you may want a wider layout.

While I didn’t find a perfect solution I did find a workaround. In the past, YouTube would give you the option to pick the size you want to make your video code but for me at least, that option is no longer available.

I am providing you with a variety of YouTube video sizes and how you can grab the HTML embed code for each.

Depending on the blog theme you use some themes, will automatically resize the video to fit the screen and others won’t. The same goes for the mobile theme you use.

YouTube Embed Code Sizes

You can also manually change the size of the YouTube video code to fit the space. Just change the width and height in the HTML code they give you to match one of these YouTube video sizes.

320 by 240

560 by 315

640 by 360

853 by 480

1215 by 480

1229 by 691

1280 by 720

1920 by 1080

Note: Sometimes you blog post isn’t any of these sizes so you can make the video any size you like. You should keep the proper dimensions so it doesn’t cut off the side or the bottom. Here are some sizes that work well for standard blog posts areas.

550 x 309

580 x 326

740 x 416

750 x 422

How to Find the YouTube Embed Code

Go to Youtube.com.

Find the video you want to use on your website.

Click the Share icon (looks like a right-pointing arrow)

Click Embed.

Click Copy.

If you own a Cricut cutting machine you know just how infuriating it is to see errors when you use Design Space. I was recently working on a cut design but when I went to click “Make It” the button was not available, or grayed out. While it didn’t looked grayed out because the button is actually green in color, when I clicked on it, nothing happened.

So, I Google to find a solution but I never did actually find an answer that worked for me. I closed the Cricut Design Space software and opened it again. Then I clicked on the project I was working on and when it opened up to the preview screen I clicked Make It. Design Space opened my project but gave me a red warning banner at the top of the page that read, “Project Open Unsuccessful”, and I couldn’t go any further.

There are several options to get rid of the “Project Open Unsuccessful” error in Cricut Design Space but the ultimate solution was to reinstall the Design Space software.

I then went to the Cricut Help pages and found a few things I could do to try to solve my problem. You may want to try one of all of these first to see if they help you get rid of the Cricut red banner “Project Open Unsuccessful” error message.

Solution #1

Exit Design Space and Relaunch

If you have Design Space open then click the X at the top right and click Quit when asked. Continue with the following steps to ensure Design Space is completely closed.

Windows: right-click on the Cricut icon in the tray area next to the taskbar located at the bottom right (next to the clock) and left-click Exit.

Mac: Click on the Cricut Design Space icon in your system tray and select Quit Plugin.

Solution #2

Force Quit the Cricut Taskbar Application

Windows: right-click on the taskbar located at the bottom right in Windows (next to the clock) and left-click “Start Task Manager”. The Task Manager window will appear. Click on the Processes tab and locate the Cricut Design Software. You can alphabetize this list by clicking the Image Name column to make it easier to find. Click on each line of Cricut Design Space you see and click End Process (or End Task) until the software is completely closed.

Mac: Click on the Finder icon in your dock and select applications on the sidebar. Double-click on the Utilities folder and local Activity Monitor. Double-click to open it. Locate CricutTaskBarApplcation, click on it and then click the X at the top to force it to close.

Solution #3

Reinstall the Cricut Design Space software

I finally solved my problem of the Cricut Design Space “Project Open Unsuccessful” error by downloading the Cricut Design Space software again from and reinstalling it. I tried the solutions above as suggested by the Cricut Help documentation but nothing worked.

Reinstalling the Cricut Design Space software cleared up the problem immediately. I didn’t lose any of my designs nor my settings. It didn’t even log me out of Design Space. This solution was definitely quicker than the hours I spent Googling to solve the problem another way.

In Conclusion

If Cricut Design Space is giving you a red banner with the error “Project Open Unsuccessful,” I suggest you try all 3 solutions to see which ones works for you. Or, you may want to just skip to solution #3 and reinstall the Design Space software.

If you own an HP printer and it cuts off the images when it prints, there is a solution. The problem seems to only happen when you try to print to your HP printer from a Microsoft product. Images do not cut off when you print from a different program using your HP printer.

HP has not dealt with this issue but you can solve you problem by using a different program. I tried to print an image by adding a .jpg image that was only 3″ wide to a Microsoft Word document. My brand new HP M255 color laser printer cut off the corner of the image. So frustrating. I then scanned the HP community forum for help and it seems this problem has been going on as far back as 2015. HP still has not fixed the problem.

I thought the problem was the fact that I still use Windows 7 and haven’t upgraded but that is not the case. I also own an HP P1005 black Laserjet printer, which first came out in 2003, and it does NOT cut off images even if I add an image to a Microsoft Word document and print. By the way, the HP P1005 black laser is a great little, all-purpose printer. In all of the years I’ve owned it I have had zero problems with it. Toner is cheap too.

The HP M255 Color Laser printer is still a good printer. It prints out crisp-looking documents and images. Printing is fast too. I highly suggest if you like HP printers

So, that leads me to believe that maybe it is not only a compatibility issue with Microsoft software and HP printers but that it is only specific HP printers that have this issue.

I solved the problem of my HP M255 printer cutting off the images by switching from Microsoft Word to Google docs. Google documents with an HP printer work perfectly and my image was not cut off.

I know that this is not the solution you probably want. You probably want HP to fix their driver and software compatibility but until they do this is a good solution.

I also added images to Cricut Design Space and my HP printer worked perfectly. It did not cut off any images.

So after all of my testing and searching for a solution, the one true solution that worked was to not use Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc to print with an HP printer. Of course, this will not be a problem for all HP printers but for the ones that it is a problem for, try a different program. Or, by a printer from a different company!

Wordfence is a really good plugin for WordPress sites. One of the big reasons I use it is because it helps to protect you from malicious attacks. It also has a lot of other features I don’t really use. One of them is to scan for out of date, abandoned and vulnerable plugins, themes and WordPress versions.

Since I am updating my WordPress blog all of the time with new posts I am actively using my WordPress blog and don’t need those email notifications. When I log in I see plugins and WordPress updates that need to be taken care of.

Because there are often out-of-date or abandoned plugins on my WordPress blog, Wordfence is continuously sending me emails that they need to be update. Some abandoned plugins, meaning the author isn’t updating it anymore to be compatible with the latest WordPress version, are perfectly fine and there isn’t any threat so I choose to keep them active on my blog.

I figured out how to disable the Wordfence email notifications just for “scan for out of date, abandoned and vulnerable plugins, themes” so now I don’t get as many notifications.

How to Turn Off Email Notifications for Out of Date Plugins in Wordfence

Click on Wordfence from the left menu and then click Scan.

Click Scan Options and Scheduling.

Click the General Options tab to expand it.

Remove the check from the checkbox next to “Scan for out of date, abandoned, and vulnerable plugins, themes, and WordPress versions”.

Click Save Changes.

Sometimes you don’t want to send an email right away. Maybe you wake up at 2 am with a brilliant idea to send to a coworker or a recipe you want to send to your Mom, but, you don’t want them to think – why is she up at 2 am? Gmail has a brilliant new feature – email scheduling. Write your brilliant ideas or that recipe you want your Mom to try in an email and schedule it for a later date and time. They will never know you were up at 2 am!

1. Click the Compose button to open a new email.

2. Fill in the To and the Subject Line.

Tip: Never leave the subject blank. Your email will often end up in someone’s junk folder and they may never see it.

Email Title Examples: I had a brilliant idea! You must try this recipe Mom

3. Type your brilliant idea in the body of the email.

4. Next to the Send button, click the down-pointing arrow.

5. Click Schedule send.

6. Pick a date and time to send your email. Gmail will give you suggestions for the best time to send an email. You can pick one of the dates and times they suggest, or click Pick date & time to choose the date and time you want.

That’s it! Your email is scheduled to go out at the time you selected.

2. Click on an email to open it.

3. Click Cancel send.

Facebook has a whole new look, again, and they have moved the location to disable chat. Facebook Chat gives you the ability to chat with someone instantly by clicking the icon at the bottom right and picking a contact’s name. There used to be a gear that you clicked that gave you the ability to disable chat but that gear is gone with the new Facebook layout. However, Facebook still gives you the ability to disable chat, it is just in a different location and it is called something different.

You can chat with someone on Facebook by going directly into Facebook Messenger but this “instant chat feature” is a shortcut way to get to the chat without switching screens. It allows you to stay on the page you are reading on Facebook and chat at the same time.

Facebook instant chat is a nice feature but unfortunately it often pops up every-time someone logs on. The more Facebook friends and contact you have, the more times it will pop up.

Facebook has changed the name chat to Facebook Active Contacts. You will see who is online that you can chat with and by turning off active status, you disable Facebook chat. That doesn’t mean that you can’t chat with your friends, it will just disable those chats from popping up and being annoying.

With Active Status turned on, your friends and contacts will see when you are active and are available for chat. They can also see when you were recently active. Active Status also allows you to see when your friends and contacts are active or recently active.

Disable Active Status (Facebook.com)

Visit Facebook.com and click on the Messenger icon.

Click the 3 dots.

Click Turn Off Active Status.

Select, Turn off active status for all contacts.

Click Okay.
